Sweet Asia 勇和烧烤 in Dapperbuurt

I've been getting takeout from here for years, and I've never had anything bad. The staff is very friendly, and the food is ready very quickly (15 minutes).

For around €50, we ordered a good number of skewers—beef, lamb, mushrooms, eggplant, and other vegetables. Unfortunately, this was one of the most disappointing dining experiences I can remember. The lamb was practically inedible: tough, tasteless, and with a strange, unpleasant texture. As if it had been sitting in a freezer for too long, waiting to decompose. The beef was hardly better—dry and likely thawed meat that was well past its prime. We simply abandoned some of the skewers after one bite. The vegetables were equally disappointing: blandly seasoned, soaked in oil, and prepared in a way that was more reminiscent of deep-frying than grilling. Instead of the smoky, fragrant barbecue experience you might expect, everything tasted of stale grease and wasted opportunity. For this price, you expect quality, or at the very least, something edible. Honestly, I could have made a better meal myself with fresh ingredients from the supermarket and an air fryer – and that says it all.

Every time I come back from Spain, it's the only place I always order food from. The chicken curry is to die for. Excellent! Thanks to my good friend Fabrizio, I discovered this marvel.

Ordered via thuisbezorgd and I got a bag full of sauce/soup. Food was of mediocre quality. The tomato soup had a weird slimy substance in it… breaded chicken tasted not fully cooked. This was the last time we order from here.

The overall experience was bad. The food tasted just okay, not as good as they recommended on social media. The service was even worse. We ordered a fish dish which cost €49.5 . It tasted dry, hard and not fresh. After we told the staff about the problem, they only felt sorry, but couldn’t do anything about it, didn't offer solutions neither discount. They just kept repeating that fish is more expensive in Amsterdam, and that all restaurants in the city cook it this way—that this was “normal.” But in reality, other restaurants that charge a similar price usually offer better quality fish and include more vegetables or sides. Here, the dish only came with a few pieces of broccoli and some sprouts—definitely not worth the price. In the end, problem not solved, we could only accept it and leave. As a customer, 49.5e for food like this is very disappointing. What was worse, we noticed an extra 5.5e charge for the fish on the receipt!! If we hadn’t checked, we would’ve overpaid without even realizing it!! That’s unacceptable! (Kindly remind whoever comes here, please check your receipt before leaving!) Four of us, paid 41e each for this restaurant, which was crazy and unpleasant. Won't go back and don't recommend it. They really need to improve their service and food!

Ordered, so I can't say anything about the atmosphere. €30 for noodles with extra meat, an extra piece of chicken, sour cucumber and 2 plantains with satay sauce. Delivery within the hour, and all that. The food was quite a disappointment. The noodles were meh. Many hard pieces (microwave heated?) and very greasy. Cucumber was okay. We didn't eat the plantains. Were really downright dirty. Were definitely not plantains, but green/unripe bananas with a batter. Shame. Not worth repeating for us.

We have been ordering from here for 3 years now and it has been fantastic every time. If you are looking for that good chinease succelent meal, this is the place! We also went to eat there on location and it was lovely service and the food was even better. Best place to order in Oost!

Gado gado with nasi. Egg was well cooked and so was everything in terms of highlight. Nasi was tasteless, peanut sauce watery and the vegetables were limp. Everything just low in taste

Nasi is okay, that's why 2 stars - sauté soup is not good. Tasteless - chicken satay not to taste, tasteless - Telo bakkeljauw not to be liked, strange taste. Unfortunately, everything except the nasi goes straight into the trash.

I am Chinese. Don't eat here. Chinese barbecue and spicy hot pot shouldn't be like this; it only fools foreigners. The lamb skewers are absolute garbage because they're so frozen that you can't even bite into them, and the “barbecue” isn't actually grilled but fried. The spicy hot pot has a strong artificial flavor—just a bunch of artificial additives that make it disgusting. This place could only survive in the Netherlands because it would definitely go out of business in China. I am Chinese, don’t come here to eat. Chinese barbecue and Malatang should not be like this. They can only deceive foreigners. The mutton kebabs are complete shit because they are not chewable and they are quick-frozen, not to mention that the barbecue is not a test at all but fried. The strong flavor of Malatang is completely made of technology and hard work, and it is disgusting to eat. This store can only be opened in the Netherlands, because it will definitely go bankrupt in China.

Very tasty, have eaten there a few times. Various dishes - delicious! See people from the Far East there, so this also speaks for itself. Eating on site is very attractive. A TOP place :) I recommend it.

Damn! I feel seriously ripped off. Since when does roti come with soup? I thought the container it came in was very suspicious. I didn't eat it because this wasn't roti. Only pancake with SOUP! Since when does the consistency have to be watery? Very strange and cabbage in the SOUP? Can also be added because this is not a roti dish.

Better to pick up or eat there than ordering, then it is just better. But really fantastic food.

Ordered Nasi moksi extra meat. However, there was little meat with it. Just a few pieces. And even though I had ordered extra meat! Tasted fine.

The barbecue is delicious, but it’s closed in the summer. Can you please update Google? I came all the way and was told it’s closed. It’s really a waste of time and energy.

Ordered here and unfortunately the food was far below quality. Watery Foe jong hai, noodles and nasi without anything in it (only brown color and a salty taste). Satay very dry. I paid 35 euros for this. Spoke to owner but they refuse compensation. So conclusion, I won't order anymore

Delicious food, delivered quickly by a sweet delivery person.

A cozy and warmly decorated restaurant where you can eat or pick up a quick bite or a delicious extensive meal. Hotpot, sandwiches, satay, soups... everything prepared with care and quality. The owner works there with love and care and asks if it tastes good. Gives advice if you don't know something. It is clean and tastefully decorated. Recommended if you have strolled around the Dappermarkt. Or just want to order from the comfort of your couch.

The food was delicious. Also the service was top notch and the waitress gave good recommendations from the menu.

This is one of the better Chinese restaurants in amsterdam. I’ve tried my fair share of them, but it’s one of the few I’ve come back to often over the years.

First of all, they have packaged and delivered dine-in Malatang, barbecue, Chinese food, Kip Loempia, Foe Joeng Hai, barbecued pork, and everything...so no one paid attention to us when we entered the door. We came in and saw that there were not many customers, and then we ourselves After asking, the bar gave us a menu, and then we sat there waiting to order. A gentleman next to us finished ordering, and I said hello, hello, hello. He heard it but did not turn around and respond. Me, until I was about to give up, he turned around and responded, but he didn't say anything, even just a hello. I asked, can we order food? That’s what gave us some. We ordered barbecue and waited for about half an hour. What came out was obviously fried skewers, with no trace of grilling at all. It had nothing to do with barbecue...it was all oil! ! The only thing that goes well with barbecue is fried skewers sprinkled with barbecue seasonings! ! ! When I was paying the bill, I asked if your barbecue was fried. The answer I got was that fried and barbecue meant that it was grilled after deep-frying. However, the wooden skewers did not turn black at all, which was quite funny. The drinks were quite good. It tasted delicious, and the price was really cheap. After we left the house, we went to Fulu to fill our stomachs. Anyway, we wanted to pursue the lightning protection of barbecue...

Highly recommend Sweet Asia! Affordable, lots of food, yummy. They aren't going to win a culinary cuisine but tasted like a good meal my mom would make in a rush. Amsterdam needs more solid spots like this, keep it up Sweet Asia 🙌🏼

good boba tea! A good way to soften a sugar-crave because they open late!

It’s expensive and tastes bad. The portion is super small. The boss is very stingy. A bunch of fish balls is actually a fish ball cut into three pieces 🤢🤢🤢

The service is friendly but the food is just subpar. Barbecue skewers and malatang were all lukewarm/cold, portions were small, noodle in the malatang overcooked and the soup just tasted store-bought. Unfortunately that the owners don’t seem take any pride in the food they serve. 真的好难吃！

The price is very expensive, three leeks cost 1 euro, very low value for money, and the food is served very slowly. I waited for nearly 40 minutes for the barbecue, and all the foreigners at the other tables had finished eating. Bad review

I ordered saoto soup 3 times within 2 months and each time it tasted like it was mixed with water so it looked like a large portion. It looked and tasted like dirty water with one egg in it. That was the last order from this place.

Normally I save myself the trouble. Sweet Asia was once closed for hygiene reasons because there was a garbage container/rolling container in the kitchen. Things got better for a while, but I think they think people are no longer paying attention

Absolutely delicious food here. Had a bami with tofu and spicy chicken with a delicious sweetly flavored sauce. And such friendly staff. We will surely come back!

Love this place, I've eaten here dozens of times, and always super good. Maybe sometimes the pork was a little drier than usual, but in general, everything was always super tasty and tender.

Deze tent ziet er cheapo uit aan de buitenkant, maar het eten is echt goed. Natuurlijk beoordeeld op wat het gerecht is, een roti of beef met broccoli, zulk soort gerechten, het is geen avondje uiteten, maar wat ze maken, maken ze heel goed, vers en lekker.

Good choice for Chinese. Enormous portions for reasonable prices. Quality is good. A lot of meat. Great option of ordering “small portion” which is rice/noodle with topping of your choice which comes in a box like in the picture. The portion is still quite decent. Taste is also good. If you would like to eat more then go with ordering a dish from chicken/beef/vegetarian mains dishes with choosing a side you like as it will come in two big boxes. We ordered chicken in sweet and sour sauce which came in separate box and side came in another enormous box. The price will be almost the same as for the small portion with a topping of your choice. Didn’t like the satay as I found it a bit dry but maybe also because I don’t like satay. But found three skewers are pretty nice for 5.80. Ordered for the third time and decided to leave a review.

Wonderful food with reasonable price. Super delicious food especially the spicy hotpot. In the end, we drink all soup of the hotpot without anything left inside pot since it is so delicious. Barbeque is also one of most delicious barbeque I have ever eten. Crispy skin and soft inner meat. Very beautiful and clean restaurant which is far more beautiful than what I saw from the picture of google. Very kind staff and nice service. All 👍👍👍

烧烤略咸，不过和中国的味道已经很接近了。麻辣烫分量很足，味道不错。

Eten was zeer lekker en de porties zijn groot genoeg.... vullen ook goed.Meerdere gerechten al geprobeerd en allemaal goed?Ruime keuze grote/kleine porties.

Tjauw min moksi mitti speciaal portie besteld bij dit restaurant, maar was teleurgesteld omdat er minder vlees was dan verwacht. De tjauw min was echter wel lekker. De Moksi mitti was ook goed. De sfeer was aangenaam en de prijs was redelijk. Ik heb genoten van het eten en zal zeker nog een keer afhalen. Oh saus apart erbij bestellen.

Roti was niet lekker maar we hebben een gratis vervanging gekregen die beviel!

Online besteld: kip loempia en babi pangang. Vlees was niet echt grote portie en smaakte een beetje naar oud vet. Saus apart maar was geen zoetzure saus maar meer van jus, niet lekker. Loempia’s waren ook heel vettig en klein voor dat geld! Dit kan echt veel beter.

Ik ben zo blij dat ik het Chinees restaurant Sweet Asia in Amsterdam Oost heb ontdekt! Ik was er 2e kerstdag met 6 personen en we hebben enorm genoten van onze maaltijd. In het bijzonder vonden we de vegetarische gerechten uitstekend. De smaken waren zo fris en vol, en de presentatie van de gerechten was prachtig. Maar ook de niet-vegetarische opties waren heerlijk, met een mooie mix van kruiden en smaken. De service was ook top. Onze server was vriendelijk en attent, en het tempo van de maaltijd was precies goed. We voelden ons zeer welkom en comfortabel tijdens ons bezoek. Al met al was het een geweldige ervaring bij Sweet Asia en ik zou het zeker aanbevelen aan anderen die op zoek zijn naar goed Chinees eten in Amsterdam Oost. Ik kijk uit naar mijn volgende bezoek!

Can’t recommend more! The best one during the stay in Netherlands. Service is good and prompt, hot pot soup is amazing but a bit spicy even though we chose the least spicy. Total amount for a hot pot spring rolls and 2 soft drink is less than €30. Just to be aware that the mini expense for BBQ or Hot pot is €18.

Super lekker gegeten voor een goede prijs en de bediening was ook heel aardig!

Heerlijk eten en drinken. Alles was schoon. Ik had tjauw min genomen, zelf wat Maggi erbij gegooid en mijn bord was vervolgens LEEG😀.

#LetsGuide very good Chinese. The Interieur makes you wanna dream.. such a nice atmosphere ! They serve a lot of food from vegan to steak. More important : no Dutch people are working here. So ofcourse the Hygienic is very good here at SWEET ASIA And the sound of there voice a relief comparing with the Dutch voice.

Bestel daar met enige regelmaat ! Snelle levering en warm. En als er onverhoopt iets fout gaat gewoon een belletje en ze doen moeite voor een oplossing.

烤串真的好吃，不输国内。很辣，很新鲜。唯一就是性价比太低了。烤馒头、烤鸡肉串特别赞！ 麻辣烫的汤底很好吃，但是每次18欧的最低消费真的吃不爽。可以选择的涮品太少了，而且量非常少。 自制冰红茶很值得点！ 环境一般，服务很热情。

Besteld met de opmerking geen zout, ik werd netjes teruggebeld dat de foe young hay het vlees wel zout bevat. Het ei en de saus kon zonder dat compenseert dus geen probleem zei ik. Vlees was licht gezouten smaakte heerlijk. Dit is heel fijn want dan kan ik soms bestellen even buiten mijn boekje gaan. Bezorgtijd stond op 58 minuten na 35 minuten was het er al.
