The woman (owner?) stood chatting for far (far) too long at another table. All sorts of sick things were being discussed, and then you still have to eat. They only stayed for a pancake.

We got a special today: soup, pancake with one topping, and ice cream for dessert for the special price of €16.95. It was really meager. Three spoonfuls of soup in the container, pancake with minimal toppings (extra wasn't allowed, although you paid an extra €10, which the chef apparently didn't want to bother with), and dessert with one piece of fruit and one scoop of ice cream. I felt really ripped off. And then they say that eating out doesn't have to be expensive. No, I understand that with these portions, you're asking for so little. We tried it once, but not again. The pancake wasn't particularly special either; I've had much better.

On our way to a hike and a visit in the eastern part of the country, we didn't have enough time to stop here for a pancake. We ordered a pancake to go, which was also gluten-free. Fantastic service, a very tasty pancake, which we enjoyed during a lovely walk. I was absolutely delighted.

The pancakes were terrible, with little topping, the bacon on the pancakes was burnt, the pancakes were lukewarm, and the place was very dated. A cushion on the chairs would have been a nice touch. Not recommended.

The pancakes tasted good. There was also an option for gluten-free pancakes. It's a shame the male waitress gave the impression he wasn't in the mood and had had a rough night. That kind of takes the place down a bit. I'm used to better.

What a terrible place... yuck! A plain children's pancake was full of tuna. The pancake smelled terribly of fish... Just disgusting for a little child. And you don't want that on a pancake with powdered sugar. The salmon pancake was still raw and the chopped onion was just large slices. The Gelderland pancake with sausage was just a simple salami pancake with 3 small slices. The fresh garnish was some lettuce and cucumber on a dirty plate. (See photo) The other pancakes were very sparsely topped, burnt, and no one liked them. There's a play corner that's extremely outdated, dirty, and not suitable for children under 3. (Very small Lego pieces) Young waitresses are fine, but the older waitress is not customer friendly at all. When I told her the children's pancake was full of tuna, she said it wasn't allowed. "That's never happened before." Well, fine... but now it is, so you help her out. No apology, no money back, no understanding.

Too young, but friendly, hard-working girls. An older woman... controlling of the girls and curt with customers. It's a shame my sparkling water initially came in tap water. After complaining, I did get sparkling water from a bottle.

We always come here during the holidays. They have delicious pancakes like you won't find anywhere else. The price-quality ratio is excellent, and the service is very fast and friendly. Make sure you book, though, as it's very busy.

The best pancakes we've ever had! I highly recommend Grandma's Pancake House - and the kids are all thrilled with the children's pancake they can decorate themselves, and also the children's ice cream that comes with a "surprise" (a small gift from the treasure chest). We eat here every year when we visit family, and it's one of the highlights of our visit - already looking forward to next year!

I've been coming to this pancake house in Ugchelen since the 80s. Friendly staff, incredibly sweet and kind people. And of course, delicious pancakes, and not to forget my favorite ice cream, "Ugchelse Berg."

The pancakes were delicious! But the service left a lot to be desired. First, I ordered sparkling water, and then I got water in a glass with almost no bubbles (without a bottle, so I knew how it was made). They complained about that, and then they gave me a bottle of sparkling water... I mean, are they just trying it? Then, they didn't ask if everything was to my liking, or if it tasted good. No, they asked if I wanted another drink, up to three times. That's probably the business model.

I love pancakes and I haven't yet found a pancake restaurant where I can eat such delicious pancakes as in Ugchelen.

The food was delicious. The pancakes are good quality, especially for the price. However, there's an older waitress who is really rude and curt. The younger staff are a bit insecure, but that's understandable. The food is good!!

We were given a table last minute. We entered a nearly empty restaurant with great enthusiasm. We were shown to a table you really don't want to sit in, tucked away in a corner. We asked the older woman behind the bar if there was another table available, since the restaurant was practically empty. We were told no, so we said we were going back. This was met with a somewhat sarcastic greeting. My advice: we don't know about the food, but for the atmosphere, staff, and conviviality, I think you'd be better off going to another pancake restaurant, for example, in Beekbergen or Hoenderloo.

Wow, it's been a long time since I've had such a delicious pancake. Excellent. And the prices are reasonable. The only downside is the chairs; they need a cushion to sit comfortably.

A very mediocre place, definitely not customer-friendly. We hadn't even read the menu before they came to ask if we'd made a choice. And we thought the pancakes were awful. The toilet was also filthy. Ugh, never again!

The food was fine, but the young waitresses did a reasonable job, though they could still use some improvement in guest interaction. The older waitress, however (I'm guessing the owner), doesn't know how to behave, neither towards the guests nor the staff. While clearing our plates, a waitress asked us if we wanted the dessert menu. We said yes, and after 20 minutes, still no menu. The owner noticed, standing two meters away from the table, and rather irritatedly asked the waitress who had served us that evening what was wrong with our table. "Well, sorry, but why don't you go over and ask us what's wrong yourself instead of being so rude to your staff in front of the guests?" Incidentally, there were bowls on the table containing syrup and sugar, pieces of which were broken off. A lemon had been placed over the cracked glasses to conceal the cracks. The ice tea tampers didn't look very good either (with dirt in the holes, etc.). In short, it's a shame you didn't like it that much.

The pancakes were okay. There was an overwhelming amount of choice. The service was blunt and curt. Not everyone at the table was asked for a drink, and when one person said, "I don't know yet," the waitress simply walked away. The pancakes were on the table in no time, but then it took ages to order dessert. We had to pick out the dessert cards ourselves. The coffee cup was still dirty, and when I complained about it, I was given an angry look. They simply wiped my cup with a cloth and gave me the same coffee back. All in all, not a great experience.

You can enjoy a delicious meal here, with or without children. From this point, you can also take a nice walk. I only missed a few cheeses like brie.

Beste pannenkoeken van de Veluwe, goede prijs kwaliteit verhouding. Snelle en goede service, hier kun je nog heerlijk genieten van hele mooie prijzen zowel drank als eten.

Would actually like to give a 2.5 star. It is mediocre. I come from Ugchelen myself and know this pancake house well. The pancakes were fine, the desserts okay. However, it is not very innovative. The owner helps with the service and behind the bar. However, the young staff who walk next to it does not seem very relaxed. Were also addressed by the owner and sent away from our table because she wanted to answer too quickly. I wonder what the atmosphere is like among the staff. Even the children noticed how unkind the young waitresses were. Well... it all does not feel very relaxed and the guests see that Maybe it is just time to hand over the business?

Extremely unfriendly staff: Last week we went out to eat at this pancake restaurant because we had to be in Apeldoorn. There are two owners who treat us and other customers extremely unfriendly. The food arrived very late, and also wrong. When we asked about this because of allergies, they snapped at us and were very irritated. Apparently it is too much to ask if you are allergic, because the answer we got was extremely rude from the older lady in question. Furthermore, they are very irritated with the younger staff, of whom we wonder whether they are even allowed to work and whether they do not work TOO much for their age. In short, we will never, ever come back here. Rude, unfriendly, grumpy older staff. They spoil the whole atmosphere. Edit: Staff cannot handle criticism and indicate that this is a fake review. Cosy pancake house! Old-fashioned, Dutch cosiness for the whole family. Always a friendly smile and a nice chat from/with the owners. A delicious menu with a pancake to everyone's taste. Even alternatives for the few who prefer to eat something other than a pancake. Around the pancake house there is ample parking for both bicycles and cars. With the forest and the heath around the corner, it can also be combined well with a nice walk in nature. Definitely recommended to go and eat.

We have been coming here since it opened in the 80s. First with the children and now with the grandchildren. Even without children we come here for a delicious pancake. It is always a success. The pancakes are delicious, the staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is always good.

Service was good, young girls who put out the plates, well done! However, the older staff publicly scolds the girls. What particularly unfriendly people. Screaming, angry and grumpy looks, snapping people. This creates an awkward atmosphere and certainly not cozy. The food is fine, but hey, anyone can make a pancake. If the older staff are the owners, they should be ashamed of themselves for treating the staff like this.

Had a pancake tonight. Took a while for the pancakes to arrive. The farmer's pancake didn't have much taste, and it wasn't cooked properly. They didn't ask us if we wanted something to drink and if everything was to our liking. So I indicated this when paying (inside), that it wasn't very good and wasn't cooked properly. The answer was that I should have said that earlier, then they could have done something about it. I said that we didn't feel like waiting another 30 to 40 minutes because we still had to drive for 2 hours. Very grumpy, no sorry or anything. I walked outside and the waitress said "that pancake" was really cooked. Well, she couldn't judge that from that distance, so she said outright that I was lying. Very unfriendly and rude. So we will never go back there. What a bad experience this was.

Heerlijk kneuterig pannenkoekenrestaurant met een ruime keuze aan pannenkoeken, maar ook soep, schnitzel en friet zijn te verkrijgen. Ideaal wanneer je met kinderen op pad bent. Het restaurant zelf is ietwat gedateerd, maar daarentegen is de bediening erg vriendelijk en de prijzen zijn er schappelijk.

Still a nice restaurant, but when will the chairs get new feet for that sanded of wood on the tiles is no longer of this time. And if you get a vegan dish you get a side salad of iceberg lettuce, julienne of carrot and raw leek no dressing. I say this could be better.
