‘t Zusje Apeldoorn in Centrum

We had a wonderful meal at 't Zusje between Christmas and New Year's. Not because of the holidays, but to celebrate our official move-in together. We had a fantastic meal, and the staff was very friendly. A wonderful experience that we'll definitely be repeating. So, I say do it!

We have family living in Apeldoorn and if there is something to celebrate, the sister is an excellent place to celebrate it.

We had a wonderful Christmas Eve dinner with the family at Het Zusje in Apeldoorn. Plenty of choice for everyone, and the food arrived quickly despite the crowds. The atmosphere was cozy, and our host, Luca, truly made our evening complete. We'll definitely be back soon!

The food is fantastic. The staff works incredibly hard to ensure you have a great time. They have to be up and down the stairs all evening in Apeldoorn.

We had dinner here with work. We'd mentioned beforehand that someone (in this case, me) with a food allergy would be there. The answer was that they wouldn't do anything about it. A colleague inquired further, and eventually, they said they'd look into it that evening. I mentioned it again that evening. My sister's solution was to cross out everything that contained something related to my allergy. The result: a very sparse menu. They didn't bother to make anything that took my allergy into account. The only positive was the atmosphere and friendly atmosphere among my colleagues.

This was our last time at the sister's. We waited 45 minutes for our first bite. Because that's what it is, a bite. And it took forever before our next list was picked up. My husband ordered fries to satisfy his hunger, but of course, you pay extra for that. Way too expensive for poor service and mediocre food. Never again 😟

The food was delicious. All the dishes are beautifully presented and not too large, so you can sample several. The goat cheese macaron, the failed apple pie, the German steak, the venison steak, and the prawn pil pil were some of the highlights.

It's always funny to read people go to a tapas restaurant and complain about small portions. Go to a Greek restaurant instead, where you'll get a huge plate full. Have some respect for the hardworking hospitality professionals.

What a disgusting nightmare!! I don't know where to begin, but this was without a doubt the most disgusting and disappointing dining experience I've ever had. T' Zusje should be deeply ashamed of themselves for even letting guests in. From the moment we walked in, there was a musty smell as if it hadn't been properly cleaned for days. The tables were sticky, the cutlery felt greasy, and even the menus looked like they'd been through a deep fryer a hundred times. When the food finally arrived, I was completely disheartened. The carpaccio was half-frozen and had been placed under a heat lamp to "defrost." The result: lukewarm meat with a strange, slimy texture. Other tapas were tough, burnt, or tasted like they'd come straight from the freezer. And then there was the kitchen... we were sitting right next to it and could literally see what was going on there. The staff worked without gloves, their hands touching everything from raw meat to plates that were being thrown onto the table. And the icing on the cake was seeing something moving on the wall—yes, vermin. That's when I completely lost my appetite. Everything about this place screams: no respect for hygiene, no respect for guests. I've never asked for the bill so quickly. As far as I'm concerned, they should close this place down until they understand what cleaning and food safety mean. Never again.

We had a delicious meal at the sister restaurant. Friendly staff who were attentive, though unfortunately some dishes were left between the quay and the shore, but that happens.

It was a wonderful evening, with good service and the dishes arrived quickly. A table for four was a bit small. A few meat dishes were a bit overcooked. We were still very satisfied!

We were upstairs on a Sunday evening. The restaurant was quite full. We had to stand for a while because there were only three chairs available instead of four, but we did manage to find one after a while. The first round took ages; almost everything was lukewarm, so you don't have to blow. In subsequent rounds, we didn't get everything we ordered either, which wasn't exactly smooth sailing. But to top it all off, the waiter next to us started cleaning the tables with a spray. Nice when you're enjoying your dessert, isn't it? I complained through the complaint wall and got a call from the manager. He thought it was unacceptable and said he would get back to me with a proposal. He still has to call me, and it's been weeks since then. It's a shame about our evening; the kids paid from their savings. We'll never come back if they treat us like this.

Just managed to reserve a spot here at the last minute. The lady on the phone was super friendly and really helpful afterward. We didn't have much time, but everything came quickly so we didn't have to rush. Absolutely fantastic.

Today the food was much worse. The kibbeling was tough/dry, the carpaccio was different than usual, the shrimp wasn't good, and the mushrooms and bread were cold. We've been coming here for years, but this time it was disappointing. Such a shame!

The location is full of atmosphere. The service is slow, and our waitress was too young. The food was cold, including the fries. Water was refilled at the table, but there was no explanation that it was being charged. Drinks are expensive. We were with a large group of 20 people, and it was chaotic. I wouldn't eat here again anytime soon.

Today we ate at my sister's in Apeldoorn with 3 adults, 2 teenagers, and 2 small children. The wait times between courses were ridiculously long (over 30 minutes) for small appetizers per course. So, for those with a big appetite, this is a restaurant you want to visit, maybe if you have 6 hours to spare. I mentioned this during the meal, but they said there was nothing they could do. And no improvement. The food was otherwise reasonable, but nothing special. When I went to pay, I mentioned that it was all taking too long, but they didn't even apologize and went to report it 🤷‍♂️ (which, of course, doesn't help me). It would behoove them to address this.

The food was delicious. However, other things were disappointing: a. Upon arrival, it took a long time for someone to come and show us our table, even though the four of them were chatting at the bar. We found this annoying; we felt literally and figuratively unseen. b. We had made a reservation well in advance, but were given the smallest table in the middle of the aisle, even though there were plenty of better alternatives that were also set for two people. Why give us this table? Fortunately, a better table was available with some effort. c. The service was correct, but in our experience, it was focused primarily on "production" and much less on hospitality. It felt impersonal. Something had fallen on the floor next to our table. A server walked by at least 20 times before someone noticed it and cleaned it up. We were surprised by this and felt it was careless.

We had the hostess Lotte, a very sweet, nice, spontaneous girl who had a nice chat with you.

The food was nicely presented, but the appetizers were very small and limited. The sound was too loud due to the large number of guests. The ceiling is too low, preventing the sound from dissipating.

It was okay! The food could be better. I have nothing to say about the service and atmosphere.

We've visited 't Zusje several times, usually to our satisfaction. The last two times we had a good experience in Zaandam. Unfortunately, on Sunday, September 14th, we had a very bad experience with 't Zusje in Apeldoorn. We received a warm welcome, but we had to wait a long time for our food, and many dishes were lukewarm. When we reported this, we were told they couldn't do anything about it because it was busy. We saw a waitress leave halfway through, and a female staff member was upstairs alone. At one point, we went without a drink for over 45 minutes. We had to go to her to ask if we could have another drink. She replied that she would be right there but was busy. Even though several tables were already empty, it still took a long time to get our food. We heard from other guests that they also had to wait a long time for their food. Busy times shouldn't be an excuse for long waits, and guests shouldn't suffer as a result. If they can't handle the crowds, make sure there are fewer reservations. This experience has left a bad taste in our mouths, and we're hesitant to visit 't Zusje again, as it's not the first time we've had to wait quite a while for our food, and many dishes were lukewarm.

The dishes took an extremely long time to arrive, and they were often lukewarm! I complained about this several times, but there was no improvement. The excuse was that it was busy. Apparently, this is detrimental to the quality. In short, a lot of frustration. I also spoke to other guests several times this evening, and they also had the same complaint. I won't be coming back!

A Tuesday night visit and the place was busy, a good sign. The food and service was great. Being English and not having great knowledge of the Dutch language our waitress noticed my struggle and offered me a menu in English. All.the staff were very nice too. The food I would describe as tapas from around the world which is a great idea and also it was executed very well. I had at least 12 plates of food (portions are small) but very very tasty, I could have had 12 more but time was against me as was not wanting to put on lots of weight!!!! I would highly recommend as nice atmosphere and decor, great food and staff.

Yesterday, August 27th, we made and confirmed a reservation. It was our first time at this restaurant, and we were very curious and looking forward to it! We were planning a day out in Apeldoorn and wanted to end it with a delicious meal, we thought... Upon arrival, we weren't on the reservation list, but that wasn't a problem; there were still plenty of tables. I asked if we could sit outside, and it was no problem, as the weather was still beautiful. We sat outside, and no one showed up. We waited 20 minutes and then decided to leave... ridiculous, no one even noticed us. We had a delicious meal at another restaurant, but what a disappointment!

The food was great! The person who served us was very helpful and friendly. Only our drinks were forgotten twice and took a very long time.

Delicious food. Great service. We arrived at a relatively quiet time. I do think that if it's really busy, you might have to wait a bit longer, which you can also read in the other reviews. The presentation of the dishes is very nicely done. You can easily spend three or four hours here.

Extremely disappointing. The food we received was perfectly prepared. However, in two hours, we only had two bites. When we pointed out that everything was going very slowly, we hoped for faster service. Unfortunately, we didn't. In the end, in four hours, some people received four bites, and others only three. All in all, we waited a very long time and received ridiculously little food. It must be a very lucrative concept, because we were constantly being asked if we wanted a drink.

The food was delicious, but I think €42 is a bit pricey. The time between rounds was about 20 minutes, even though it was busy, so the service was good and fast! The apple cake, which didn't turn out well, is highly recommended, as is the pollo wrap.

We had a great meal. At first we didn't feel very welcome, because the person who received us didn't seem very happy with the fact that he had to clean and prepare a table for us. But otherwise we enjoyed the service and the food at the table.

Never been treated so badly. We had to wait far too long. Neatly indicated at the table... nothing done about it. Then again when paying. Yes, if you had still been seated we could have offered free coffee because it all went wrong indeed. . a: I'm not here for the coffee and b: that's mustard after the meal. Then just take away some drinks. No more sister for me.

The food is fine, only you have to go there with a full stomach. After 1 hour we had finished our first course and we had to wait between courses. The food itself was fine, there were a few tasty dishes, but also for drinks you have to ask yourself.

I had dinner here with six colleagues on a Tuesday evening. Reservations are definitely recommended, especially for larger groups. It was almost completely full. The food was really great! Which I find exceptional for an all-you-can-eat concept. And this concept makes it fun and dynamic to do with colleagues. The service is good; they notice when the glasses are empty and when the order slips are ready to be picked up. The acoustics are intense when the restaurant is full.

Op 29 april 2025 hebben wij met hoge verwachtingen gereserveerd bij ’t Zusje in Apeldoorn voor het arrangement "Bourgondisch Genieten", maar onze ervaring was allesbehalve bourgondisch. In ruim twee uur tijd kregen we slechts twee rondes geserveerd. Tot overmaat van ramp kregen we twee keer carpaccio die bedorven rook en eruitzag alsof het niet vers was. Hoewel we dit direct aangaven bij de bediening en ook tijdens het afrekenen, kregen we geen passende reactie of oplossing. We hebben uiteindelijk €144,60 betaald voor een ronduit teleurstellende avond. Na afloop hebben wij per e-mail een klacht ingediend, maar ook daarop hebben wij geen serieuze reactie ontvangen. Onze ervaring is dat klachten niet serieus worden genomen. Voor ons geen tweede keer meer. Slechte service, slechte kwaliteit en totaal geen waar voor je geld.

In just over two hours, we were only served two rounds. To make matters worse, we were served carpaccio twice that smelled spoiled and looked as if it was not fresh. Although we immediately reported this to the staff and also during the checkout, we did not receive an appropriate response or solution. We ultimately paid €144.60 for a downright disappointing evening. Afterwards, we filed a complaint by e-mail, but we did not receive a serious response to that either. Our experience is that complaints are not taken seriously. No second time for us. Poor service, poor quality and absolutely no value for money.

Op moederdag uit eten gaan is geheid volle bak, en zo ook in 't Zusje in Apeldoorn. allemaal kleine hapjes die per 2 stuks per ronde onbeperkt besteld konden worden. De vernieuwde kaart viel goed in de smaak, tonijntartaar, Beef Tatiki, en aspergehapje waren lekker, tuurlijk mocht het black Angus kroketje en crème brulee niet ontbreken. Het personeel rende hun benen uit hun lijf maar bleven gastvrij en professioneel. met name op dit soort dagen benijd ik ze niet. Weer een zeer aangename ervaring, tot de volgende keer.

In principle the food was fine, the service was friendly. Unfortunately, I became nauseous during the evening, after not having eaten much. On the way back I was so ill, resulting in vomiting and diarrhea, which lasted for about 8 hours. After reporting this to 't Zusje Apeldoorn, they simply said that this was not possible at such short notice and that it must have been due to something other than 't Zusje's food. It took about 3 hours between the start of eating and feeling sick, so food poisoning could easily have caused the nausea. It can of course happen that something is wrong with the food, but don't be so laconic about it. This is very unfortunate.

Years ago I ate here and the experience back then was that there was a long wait for your food. Had to wait 45 minutes for your dessert. So after years I tried again. Bad choice again! Several dishes tasteless. Had to wait a long time for the food. Order forgotten in the kitchen after 25 minutes, but I asked. It is possible to order a side dish from the menu. If you do this before you order for the fifth time, you will have to pay extra for the side dish. After ordering five times, no more. The card for the orders had run out and a new one was requested to order a dessert. Didn't get this anymore. So this was really the last time the sister was for us.

Delicious food and fun, although we sometimes had to wait longer before the waiter saw that we wanted to order something.

We sat outside in the sun and had a delicious meal. Nice spot and friendly service. And we chose the tasting. You could choose from all the tapas snacks. It was very tasty 😎👍

You should definitely go here for the food specifically. Very good quality and wide choice. Where we were sitting (against the kitchen) there was a nice draft, so we could wear the jacket. Unfortunately, the service also leaves much to be desired. It all went so slowly that we only limited it to 4 dishes after we had been 2.5 hours further on a Thursday. Smart of the entrepreneur, because that's how you get the most profit out of it, but no reason for us to come back.

Veel over 't Zusje gehoord dus met 9 personen, na een conventie dag aangeschoven in dit restaurant met "tapas all you can eat concept". U bestelt maximaal 3 gerechtjes per "ronde" en kunt het aantal rondes naar wens uitbreiden. Een kennelijk ongekend populair concept want 't Zusje doet leuk mee met meer dan 30 restaurants. Voor aanvang werd ons door een vriendelijke dame de "spelregels" uitgelegd en dat bleek, op het afrekenen na, ook de laatste vorm van communicatie met het bedienend personeel. Nieuwe gerechtjes worden besteld middels een papiertje dat in een houder op tafel geplaatst wordt en vervolgens wordt weggehaald. Drankjes worden tussentijds opgenomen en op tafel gezet. Voor wat het eten betreft, smaak en presentatie van de gerechtjes, zeker niet bijzonder maar ook niet slecht. Voor een avond gastronomisch genieten zou mijn keuze niet op dit restaurant vallen maar voor deze setting was het in orde. Het sfeervolle interieur kwam mij enigzins bekend voor hoewel in dit Zusje de hand van PB niet echt zichtbaar leek. De prijzen zijn verder in overeenstemming met het gebodene.

Just grab a terrace in the Sun….. nice idea but our view…. Empty glasses. Service was so minimal and that with the beautiful weather! They were reading the menu when we asked about a white wine. Had no idea what a dry or sweet wine was. In the end I only walked inside a few times for the next round. That's why we didn't order any food.
