Ordered special nasi rames. The meat and vegetables were delicious, but the nasi came in large chunks, unfortunately. The satay ayam came in just one skewer with a dab of satay sauce, and wasn't very tasty. The price was a bit high, especially considering the small portions of vegetables and meat.

The satay is always delicious. But what Indo puts lettuce in their gado gado?! It's just disgusting. The tofu was also so tough it looked like it had been prepared a week ago. Not good. A disappointment, especially since I used to make a detour to Maarssen to get Indonesian food here.

Always great food from the boys and girls at Tante Lien! I've had the 030 rijsttafel a few times now, it's super delicious! I get a sandwich for lunch every week, blado = life. I've had them so often now that I'm working my way through the sandwich menu from top to bottom 😂. Keep it up 🔥🔥🔥

Als hoofgerecht hadden we GadoGado genomen. Thuis aangekomen zat de helft van het bakje vol met sla??!! Duidelijk vulling en erg slecht. 18,50€ voor een gado gado schotel waarvan meer dan de helft gevuld is met sla. Echt vreemd er hoord helemaal geen sla in GadoGado. De sate Gambing (lam) was wel goed, lekkere saus en goeie smaak Maar Gambing is toch met geit wat nog beter smaakt.

Takeaway where you can buy sandwiches, rice bowls or other Indonesian snacks. The sandwiches are huge and aesthetically pleasing. Quite difficult to eat though.

We were in Indonesia for four weeks, and without a doubt, it's exactly the quality and taste of Indonesian food. Everything is well prepared, the quantity is perfect, but you have to like spicy dishes, exactly like those found in Indonesia. For me, it was too strong, which is why I'm only giving it four stars, but for others, it will undoubtedly be delicious. Price-wise, you can order a special Rames for €20 for two. For one person, €20 is a really good meal! You can't eat there; you have to take your meal away and eat it by the canal, like in the photo 😉

If you like it spicy... You can go for it. It's very spicy... the quantity is important...

This is not my own order but my experience. 11 containers with food (portions). + €200 Entire order by phone with all wishes the day before, on the day of pick-up everything turned out to be wrong. None of the wishes seemed to have come true as agreed. At the checkout you are also lied to when you ask if the food wishes have come true, after checking the order, everything is answered yes and amen. The price also became more expensive while everything had been discussed in advance. After returning home nothing turned out to be right disgusting food. Dry meat pork fish everything dry dry. Bami soft mushy, nasi dirty badly fried whole blocks of white rice between the nasi. I know who taught aunt Lien to cook 'das nie bes. In chicken dish there was a piece of pork and in another a piece of shrimp something that does not belong there, portions were sloppy unappetizing looking. Vega dish was also contaminated with a piece of fish or trassi. How does this place get +4 stars Google reviews downright bad. When you enter you see people working, student types everything except an Aunt Lien, let alone an Indonesian cook or looking person. Knorr dish tastes even better. Bad concept very bad execution. This kind of catering restaurant should go to hell with their reheated microwave food. Crappy place not recommended when you see the dish in the store you already get an aversion. Such a great place! My co-workers wanted to see what the fuss was all about, and we were able to get my employer to pick up the bill for a fantastic lunch for the extended team. Everything was prepped and packaged perfectly and the staff was very helpful in deciding the best options for a larger group. Needless to say, it was a huge success!

Bad service. With our orders we got a spring roll instead of pangsit goreng. Called immediately but it was no longer possible to deliver the pangsit goreng. It was also not possible to get the amount back. It was only possible to get the dish with a next order, although we did not get any proof of that either. Too bad they could not accommodate us, since we had paid for the pangsit goreng and it was their fault that they had the wrong order. Furthermore, the bami goreng was also disappointing, had little taste. So all in all disappointed in this case.

Been coming here for about 30 years. Previously Tante Liens was in Maarssen. For about two years now located on the old canal in Utrecht. In the meantime I have also moved to Drenthe where I miss all those delicious eateries and takeaway meals, especially Tante Liens. Every time I drive to Utrecht, I go to Tante Liens on the old canal to get a takeaway meal because it is my favorite food. Harry (the owner) prepares the Indonesian food in the traditional way. Every time I go to Tante Liens I can't wait to be home to enjoy the delicious food.

We love Tante Lien! Delicious Indonesian cuisine. Super friendly staff and fresh food. Really our favorite takeaway place in the city center. Our favorite: rames special 2/2 and ayam chicken skewers (enough for 2 people). And you can always have a small appetizer if you feel like it.

Ordered the lunch menu. Got the nasi kuning for the carbs, very disappointed. It literally tasted like rice that's dyed yellow. The guy was chill and the place was okay. But the food is a major nono.

So many good reviews. So I went to have a look myself on the Oudegracht. A nice line of people waiting. Good sign! But unfortunately.. the rendang sandwich and the chicken sandwich were inedible. The chicken and beef were inedible. Dry and hard. As if you were chewing on a bone. Such a shame. Another illusion poorer. No more aunt Lien for me and my daughter in the future.

To be fair the restaurant food was good,. but i hope the manager educates their workers on how to deal with people. I felt very bad after i had seen the worst service ever from a man who works there with short black hair and short beard that looks like in his 40s who was smoking outside of the restaurant. There was a girl who was sitting on the bench outside of the restaurant volunteering organizer for the pride event in Utrecht and she was eating her sandwich. This man very rude with no human manner kicked het out of the bench because she did not order her sandwich from the restaurant. I just Lost my appetite after that and will not come again....

Super friendly staff, the food is delicious. When I'm in Utrecht, I take a bami rames home with me😄. And as a snack a martabak ….. prepared with lots of love and attention.

Had a delicious spicy chicken sandwich, large sandwich, very generously filled and lots of toppings. A real party. And the staff was very attentive, they came especially to ask if it tasted good. Worth repeating because there were many more tasty sandwiches and other things on the menu.

Food was so good, and the server took time to explain each dish as well. The only downside is no indoor seating, but there’s a bench outside to enjoy your food with a view of the canal and the bustling street outside :) Definitely stop by if you want good Indonesian food in Utrecht!

I had two side-dishes with rice (vegetarian). The side-dishes were delicious, but the texture of the rice was truly disappointing. It was hard (either undercooked or extremely old). The young man who served me was amicable. Thanks for letting me use my own lunch box for the takeaway.

We hebben eerder al een rijsttafel voor 2 personen en nu een rijsttafel voor 6 personen afgehaald voor ons gezin en we hebben nog nooit zo’n goede en diverse rijsttafel gehad die ook nog eens zo lekker en intens van smaak is! De diversiteit van de gerechten wordt daarnaast heel mooi samengebracht met side dishes en we hadden echt meer dan genoeg voor ons allemaal. Echt een aanrader voor zowel klein als groot gezelschap. Ook de service is erg goed. We werden netjes begeleid in het maken van de juiste keuzes voor de samenstelling van het menu. Super bedankt voor de heerlijke maaltijden!

Great shop! The employee was super friendly and explained everything to us. The food was really very tasty and it's a nice big portion. I recommend putting together your own bowl. Unfortunately there is no real seating on site, only take away. But you can just sit by the canal.

We ordered kip and lamb sate through thuisbezorgd ! 2 dishes costed us 24 euros . It has barely anything . 3 skewers with small amount of meat. Its like an appetizer. Like in the picture there is no veggies like cucumber and rice and other stuff shown in the picture. For that money you we could get a big pita gyros with veggies and meat and sauce. This was not worth it.

After having eaten here a few times, we ordered via Thuisbezorgd last night. The food is fantastic, wonderfully authentic flavors, nice and spicy if you choose. On site you can choose from all kinds of delicious meat and vegetable dishes. The spekkoek is also very tasty. The delivery by Thuisbezorgd was a tragedy, but Naomi from Aunt Lien helped me by telephone and always called back politely to inform me that the order was 1.5 hours late. This is Thuisbezorgd's fault and they cannot do anything about it. Aunt Lien even had to make our dishes again, which is a shame! So tip: don't order from Thuisbezorgd but from Uber Eats, because they will show up :)

Picked up two sandwiches: rendang and ayam Bali. For the rendang you can choose mild or spicy. The sandwiches are richly topped with meat/chicken, kentang, prawn crackers, lettuce and a little sauce. The taste is fantastic and with a sandwich you certainly have a good lunch. Unfortunately it is not possible to eat inside and you can only pick up. But when the weather is good you would prefer to sit by the canal. Highly recommended if you are in Utrecht and like Indonesian food!

We have two delicious Rendang sandwiches here. The Rendang was delicious, the ingredients were wonderfully fresh. Highly recommended!

The rice table “030” was very popular here. Aunt Lien is a bit pricey, but you get a variety of dishes and the portions are very generous. You can easily eat with two people from a single rice table, provided you add a bowl of extra nasi or rice. We will definitely come back!

Aunt Lien is my hidden gem in Utrecht. The shrimp are really great. In terms of price and quality, this is really a very good tent. The shrimp were really delicious! Tip: eat it immediately then deliver or pick up!😁

Take away only. Aunt Lien, originally from Maarssen, now has a large Indonesian kitchen in Utrecht. Really tasty nasi, crispy spicy Tempeh and vegetable dishes. An asset to Utrecht and the surrounding area. Hope they also manage to find a place for a restaurant.

Ordered nasi rames. The daging smoor, acar ketimun, sateh and nasi kuning were delicious. I found the ayam Bali to be dry and lacking in flavor. It didn't really arrive warm, but I didn't mind that too much.

Extremely friendly owner. Dishes are still being cooked by mom and her sons with a modern twist. Food was exceptional, a real joy for the tastebuds and eyes alike. Definitely stop and recharge body and soul. Will be coming back! Whenever I'm back in the area.

I was eager to enjoy this restaurant after it was recommended by an Indonesian woman and I was craving Indonesian cuisine. However, upon arrival, I was disappointed to discover only a small wooden bench outside for seating, especially after passing by other restaurants with inviting seating areas. Additionally, I was surprised and inconvenienced to learn that they didn't accept credit cards in a country like the Netherlands, especially when the nearest ATM was a 15-minute walk away. Although the food looked promising, they need to consider their customers' needs more carefully.

UPDATEDDDD I had initially rated Aunt Lien lower, because the quality varied a few times with drier chicken and a lot of oil, but oh my god I have changed my opinion. Truly addicted to getting food here. I had such intense cravings for the blado that I thought I was pregnant. It is honestly difficult sometimes, because as a student I am not allowed to spend that much money on eating out. In the last 10 times I have ordered, I have never had a dry piece of chicken again. Not only do you see and taste how much love goes into the food, from ingredients to preparation method (lacquering your beef instead of frying or baking), you also hear about it and see it when you visit. Such a beautiful Utrecht family business that the lack of Toko Mitra almost fades away: and that is a compliment if you are a real Utrecht resident. But seriously, the textures, the layering of the flavors, the freshness and the consistency: I am in love
