Tante S Kitchen in Wijk 00 Waalwijk

Placed an order, and 10 minutes after the agreed-upon delivery time, we received a call to say the order couldn't be delivered. They offered us a different dish or a refund, and promised we'd get it back immediately. We'd been at the door several times. I even called the owner through a third party. I received a long, unpleasant explanation about a sick family member and was promised a refund. I assumed the best of luck, but unfortunately, I still haven't received a full refund. Months later, and the doors were always closed.

Ordered for the first time, and you guessed it. No order, and money gone. I drove to the store, and everything was dark and closed. THIS IS TOO RIDICULOUS FOR WORDS. I filed a complaint, of course, and I want my money back ASAP, that's for sure! Worst deal ever!

Ordered something via home delivery just after seven. Within 5 to 10 minutes he was "accepted" and would arrive shortly. After waiting 1.5 hours still nothing. It says it would be delivered at 7:53 PM. I drove there and got there 4 minutes before closing time. Everything closed and no one present. 35 euros and got nothing. Scandalous. Complaint already submitted for home delivery!

My order was supposed to be delivered yesterday at 5:00 PM. I called in between, but no one answered. At 6:40 PM, it suddenly says it's delivered, but nothing has been delivered. At 6:45 PM, it suddenly says it's closed. I want my money back (€34.00) or I'll take legal action. This is the first and last time I'll order from you!

The delivery was far below par. The restaurant has a very generous delivery time of 60 to 100 minutes. After two hours, nothing was delivered. My order was placed on a Wednesday, not a busy Sunday. Ultimately, I cancelled the order.

I ordered "Saoto soup." The soup couldn't be called saoto soup; it was truly scandalous that it was served that way. It was just hot water with chicken seasoning and a drop of soy sauce; the rice was overcooked. The vermicelli was rock hard, the chicken was inedible, and the utensils were completely wrong with saoto. And no egg. They said it was coming. My advice: hire someone who can cook Surinamese food and train the staff to learn. This is a disgrace to Surinamese cuisine! I must warn any customers or anyone interested: this is not Surinamese food! Find another Surinamese!

Closed... 30-minute drive. It was incredibly unprofessional to find a closed door when Google said it was "open."

Do not order! Ordered at 5:15 PM on Saturday, still didn't receive anything at 7:40 PM... 2.5 hours later! Called twice, first time after 1.5 hours. The potatoes still had to be cooked but it was almost ready... Called again after 2 hours. The order was ready and he was now walking out the door, a 12-minute drive. After 25 minutes nothing! They lie that they burst! You have been warned...

It's ridiculous that you sell that as Bara and let it leave the kitchen at all. Shame on Surinamese/Hindustani cuisine. Unfortunately I had your reviews delivered to your home and did not look at them below. All warnings for other customers. Concerns the quantity of the portions. On your Facebook page there is a photo from December 4, 2022 of a portion of roti. What you ultimately deliver is not even half the portion of the photo. Original review: Never had such a tasteless roti before. Too expensive for the size portions. Always order extra sheets everywhere. That was not necessary with these portions. The taste was hard to find. Delivery was fast and neat.

Yesterday evening I ordered nasi chicken and soato, the soup was very salty and had no bean sprouts in it. I don't think the nasi chicken was fresh and was really bad... we are Surinamese ourselves and we have never eaten something this bad anywhere. Pity!!!

Recently ordered via home delivery, very little food but taste was fine (then). Today's second chance. Picked up myself. 3 “normal” rotis and 2 “large” rotis. When we get home, all 5 containers are filled the same. Crazy? Unfortunately you can't call it stuffed either, 7 beans, 3 potatoes and a tablespoon of chicken. This is not what you expect with a Surinamese roti for €80. To compress! Staff is super nice. Unfortunately, no more Aunt S for us.

SHAME! Ordered a moksi meti. First of all, I had to wait 1.5 hours before it was delivered. In principle I have no problem with this under the guise "quality takes time". Unfortunately, this was not the taste experience I expected from the dish, as I had experienced with several. Menu choice of original or with chicken You can expect an authentic taste experience from a NON-European kitchen. People who choose a “specific” cuisine expect the authentic taste experience and dishes as they should be! Otherwise you do not specifically choose this! For that you have the “commercial” Chinese where you can order, among other things, an “Indian” rice table 😂 Be proud of your cuisine and keep it alive!

Poorly filled, very expensive sandwiches. Almost no pepper and thin slice of cucumber. Bland and tasteless on an old bun. Almost everyone threw it away and a few had stomach aches from the shrimp. Definitely don't eat here!

This is really by far (and I've had Surinamese food just about everything between Eindhoven and Waalwijk, and up to Rotterdam) the best I've eaten anywhere. delicious sandwiches, nasi brought home and it is even tastier. food cooked by a real Surinamese aunt with love for the food and you can taste it 😉👌 highly recommended

We were looking for a Surinamese restaurant... because apparently you can't find a Surinamese restaurant in En Bosch on Wednesdays... we came to Aunt S Kitchen. The restaurant looked clean and tidy... The food was really top notch... it tasted very good. Aunt S Kitchen is highly recommended.

I hardly ever post reviews, but the food here was so delicious that I feel compelled to post a comment. Highly recommended! From what we ordered: nasi was tasty and moksi meti was delicious.

@Serina, so because they improve a recipe you give them 1 star? What shortsightedness. You probably also eat pom at a Chinese? Stick to your roti and don't interfere.

How bad! Just called Aunt S to order moksi meti, do they only sell this with chicken?? For people who do not understand Surinamese, moksi meti means mixed meat. You can't sell moksi meti if you only use chicken, so it's better to take it off the menu instead of fooling people!

Stopped by after Efteling. Food was delicious. The loempia was amazing. The filling was different from the usual but it was so good. Roti was fresh and delicious. Banana appetizer had an interesting batter. 3 out of 4 folks loved it. Everything seemed fresh and homemade. It did take them a while to get our food made but made it up to us.

Today we had dinner with our staff at Aunt S's. We drove all the way from Zwolle to Waalwijk, but then you also have something. Everything nice and fresh, good quality and a good price ratio. Definitely recommended if you like Surinamese food!

Taste was good. Bami did not match the photo (no cucumber etc and was missing peppers/sambal).
