The food is mediocre. The staff mainly stand around talking to each other and not paying attention. However, it is a nice location and terrace.

The staff were mostly to be found inside at the bar rather than in the foreground. You hoped you would be served at least once every hour. The food was decent; many items came straight from the freezer and had zero taste.

A very beautiful and atmospheric location! We were helped incredibly well by host Daan. Very sociable, hospitable, and fun, and he really made sure we had a wonderful evening. Daan, thank you for your great care! 😊

The atmosphere is fine. Far too little staff. Waited an hour for the first round of tapas. Tasted very mediocre to bad. Lots of wasps outside. The staff pays absolutely no attention to the customers. They didn't bother about anything. We left after the first round. Absolutely a no-go to ever go here again. And that under the Van der Valk banner. A farce.

DO NOT GO HERE!! Waited 20 minutes for our drinks. Then waited another half hour for our food; well, this is tapas and you're supposed to be able to order again quickly afterwards, but that took another 20 minutes for 2 small dishes. In the end, sat there for 2 hours, had 2 rounds, am 100 euros poorer and have an empty stomach…

Yesterday we had a drink and a bite to eat here on the cozy terrace. We ordered 7 small dishes for the two of us, so no all-you-can-eat. It was actually more of a snack to go with drinks. We ordered the Spanish burger and the watermelon, among other things. The description of the Spanish burger indicated that we would get 2 burgers with spicy sauce for €6.00. There was only 1 small piece of meat on the plate. Inquiring with the waitress, who was otherwise very friendly, revealed that the menu had not yet been updated. 🤷🏼‍♀️ The watermelon contained 2 small slices (the kind of slice you put on the rim of a glass for decoration) for €4.50. Very disappointing. Normally I’m not one to write reviews, but this deserves to be brought to attention. Hopefully something will be done about it.....

The food was delicious, but the service was terrible. It wasn't busy and we had the tapas package. After an hour, we had only had one round. The staff were chatting amongst themselves, and after we spoke to a young lady, they did come by regularly to check if we were still being served. The food itself was very tasty, but we wouldn't go back for the service.

Had a delicious meal!! Very tasty tapas. We sat outside with two people; beautiful atmosphere and comfortable chairs. We didn't have a reservation. The service doesn't seem to work with fixed tables, so you get asked several times if you want to order something or what the table number is; this can feel a bit chaotic. The service is very friendly. If rain is on the way, it's no problem to move inside. It would be nice if some kind of spring rolls or similar items were added to the menu for spicy food, for example.

We went to an all-you-can-eat tapas restaurant with high expectations, but it was a huge disappointment. In 2.5 hours, we received only four rounds: Round 1: two bites Round 2: three bites Round 3: another two bites Final round: only the dessert Additionally, we had to ask for water three times before it finally arrived after waiting for well over an hour (with only half an hour left on the clock). The service was slow and disorganized, causing the "all-you-can-eat" concept to completely miss its mark. It's a shame, because the atmosphere could have saved it, but even that was overshadowed by the frustration of waiting.

We ate there a few years ago and it was fine, so we went again last week with those expectations. The food was good, but for some dishes, ingredients were simply forgotten that were on the menu. We didn't have a dedicated server, which made everything quite chaotic. Drinks took a very long time to arrive, and we had to ask for the menu ourselves. It also took a long time for the food to arrive. Every server apologized for the large group and their busy schedule, but other guests shouldn't have to suffer the consequences. We won't be returning.

Unfortunately, this evening did not go as hoped. The service was very slow; it took forever for the drinks and food to be served. Additionally, the dishes were served cold. All in all, a disappointing experience; this really should have been better.

Seated a little before 6:30 PM. At 9:15 PM, only 2 rounds had been had. The logistics don't work. Not worth repeating.

Waiting an hour and a half for a portion of mini frikandellen. Then another 45 minutes for a portion of bitterballen. We didn't wait for the bitterballen, nor did we pay for them. We did get the frikandellen for free, though.

Meals were included via a package with Van der Valk Theaterhotel, but the quality of the dishes was very poor. The service was friendly but clearly understaffed. Orders frequently took a very long time to arrive. Not recommended!

The food was just good a few years ago. Now it is truly awful.. Carpaccio on a warm plate, dishes we didn't order, spoiled fruit for dessert.. Ways of waiting times are way too long !! The bill was incorrect as well. Everyone around us was complaining too! Quality is nowhere to be found.. Last time here!

Super slow service; even getting coffee takes a long time. All you can eat for 28 euros in 2.5 hours is not enough to fill you up here. After well over an hour, I was able to do one round. You'd be better off looking for another restaurant if you really want to eat.

Even though it wasn't busy at all, we couldn't get a table there anymore. It was also almost empty 2 hours later when we passed by.

Great food, Service was terrible, chaotic. After asking 3 times for glasses for our carafe of water, we had to get the glasses from the bar ourselves. They left a lot of crockery on the table. Had to get cutlery ourselves, and waited a long time for the food. There is also a sewage smell outside. Perhaps they will be able to do better when it is quieter.

Honestly, the food is very good and the terrace is also lovely for spending an afternoon or evening. However, what was really disappointing was the staff. The staff's standard was extremely minimal. Empty glasses and plates were not cleared away. People regularly walked past with empty trays. It seemed as if no one saw the work that needed doing. Also, the staff who were supposed to take the lead (or so it seemed) did not do much to manage the young staff. I think this is a real loss and that you could really get more out of this terrace/restaurant.

Walked in in the afternoon to make a reservation. A bearded staff member reported that it wasn't possible... they were fully booked all evening. 5 minutes later, on a terrace elsewhere, I saw during online reservations that there was still space in every time slot. Went there from 19:00-21:00 and there were tables free every time.... I did briefly speak to the staff member from that afternoon about this... Strange and uninterested behavior. Reprehensible! Young staff very friendly and polite. Excellent. The food was very mediocre. Lukewarm, greasy, and many breaded dishes, even when you don't expect it. The apple salad was a positive exception. The restaurant is not recommended for the food itself. However, it is recommended for the service and atmosphere.

I ate here on Ascension Day. The food you ordered in one round was not served until a few rounds later. As a result, at the end, a lot of appetizers from previous rounds were suddenly served. Even after complaining multiple times, it was not resolved. The answer was that they had too little staff compared to the number of reservations. Well, then don't accept so many reservations. In addition, the food was often lukewarm. I will not be eating here again.

The 1st round was fine, but it took a long time for it to arrive.. We only found out late that there was a kids' menu (which wasn't suggested either, even though we had our 2-year-old daughter with us); it took at least half an hour, if longer, before she finally got her menu. In the subsequent rounds, it was either the wrong dish or it was dry and inedible.. We are not going here again.

Normally I’m not one for negative reviews, but I feel compelled to write one here. We ate as a couple; the food was lukewarm and arrived late. We had to wait at least fifteen minutes for drinks; we asked if we could get them, but then the order hadn't gone through to the bar. It's easy to sell an all-you-can-eat experience for 2.5 hours when you have to wait 30 minutes for a few dishes. We won't be going back.

Nice spot, but the people working here and the management just don't get it. Waiting times of 45 minutes for a drink are simply unacceptable. A no-go, unfortunately.

A tapas restaurant without tapas on the lunch menu: a missed opportunity. So, a warm panini it is, on which I find only 1 slice of cheese and 1 slice of chicken breast, accompanied by a sprig of arugula, and that for almost 10 euros: way below par! Too bad, because the location is fantastic 👌🏼

After we sat down, we had to point out to the staff that our tables had not been activated for ordering. Immediately afterwards, 10 minutes were deducted from the timer!!! In every round, they consistently forgot 1-5 dishes. Some fried dishes were cold on the inside. The staff came across as lax and unfriendly. The food is snack bar quality and there is nothing positive to report. I will never eat here again.

What terrible service. I have been waiting on the terrace for well over an hour and no one came to check on me. I just left after an hour.

The quality of the food has really deteriorated; the two of us sat in a small corner with very little space and little atmosphere. We will not be returning, mainly due to the poor quality of the food.

Never again. The mussels were spoiled and smelled terrible. You could smell this from a distance. Yet, this was served. We will never come here again. The staff reacted with laughter.

Friendly (English-speaking) service, but the chef wasn't particularly enthusiastic tonight. The first round of steak strips was delicious, but afterward, they were dry, as if they hadn't been freshly cooked. The same applied to the other dishes; the later in the evening, the lower the quality.

The food at Solera is good, but unfortunately, the experience was completely ruined by the service. After an hour and a half of waiting, we still hadn't received our first round of tapas. We approached the staff several times, but they either barely responded or gave vague answers. Furthermore, the staff's attitude was passive-aggressive and completely unwelcoming. Instead of offering an apology or a solution, they made us feel like we were bothering them for asking where our food was. For a tapas restaurant that focuses on conviviality, speed, and service, this is truly unacceptable. It's a shame, because the concept is nice, but due to the poor organization and unfriendly service, we won't be returning.

What a great tapas restaurant! I've been to quite a few, but this one was truly fantastic. The service, though young, was very sweet and dedicated. They'll get there... We had all-inclusive. It was great to sample the dishes amongst ourselves... The sangria was also delicious, not diluted, but a spicy, sweet drink... No fruit in it, but you don't miss it...

We had a delicious unlimited tapas meal, and the staff were very friendly. Definitely recommended, especially because of the atmospheric outdoor setting.

One of the worst all-you-can-eat restaurant experiences ever. Industrial heating instead of regular heating to save money, which was directly aimed at my girlfriend. The food was incredibly bland: a hamburger with one pickle and one tomato. I think a 3-year-old can make a better hamburger. Afterwards, we thought we'd order a delicious apple pie, but you have to use tweezers and a microscope to eat it. I don't think anyone should pay €6.50 for this; it's a complete rip-off! Don't go here, ever! By the end of the evening, we spent €100, €30 of which was on beer (€5 each for a bottle of Heineken). ABSURD!

Worst tapas I've had in a long time. We were with a large group, and several dishes were missing. The dishes were poorly presented, tasteless, and neither hot nor cooked through. The mini hamburger summed it all up: a slice of bread with a large pickle, a slice of tomato, and some sauce... very disappointing.

Incredibly long wait times for the food; the first round took about 20 minutes, the second well over 40 minutes. We ordered the second round a second time because we thought it wasn't coming. It eventually arrived incomplete after we had placed our next order. We also waited 30 minutes for the third round before deciding to order dessert and just leave. Eventually, the third round also arrived incomplete, at the same time as the dessert. We sat for over two hours and had two and a half rounds of food 👍 Otherwise, lovely staff and nice decor. The staff were understanding about the situation and resolved it properly afterwards.

I ate here during Christmas. It was absolutely terrible, not like the beginning of this year, when it was excellent. It was very cold, and we had to wait a long time for our food, and even longer for the second round. The six of us only got one portion of fries. The dishes weren't very tasty either, and some were even cold, even though they were supposed to be hot. And to top it all off, the ginger tea had moldy ginger. Fortunately, my daughter smelled a strange odor. Some of the staff were downright rude and unfriendly, but thankfully, a few did everything they could to salvage it. After several satisfied meals here, this is unfortunately the last.

4* because it was so cold inside. It was unbearable, but I still gave it a 4*. The staff was very friendly, the food was delicious and of good quality. Service was also quick and efficient. If it hadn't been so incredibly cold inside, they would have gotten a 5*.

It was really awful. We were sitting in the conservatory, and the temperature was freezing. We put on our coats and asked for blankets. The service was terrible, with over an hour of waiting between orders. But when we ordered fresh mint tea, the ginger turned out to be extremely moldy! Really awful. The management should be ashamed of themselves for allowing their staff to work like this.

Had a wonderful evening with good food and great staff. Enjoyed it with my colleagues, and even a waitress made me blush with a joke about the sole (sorry, Rosie)!

Never had such a bad experience as tonight. The first order went fine, but the children's menu for our daughter took a very long time. We even asked if it would arrive at all. The second order also arrived relatively quickly, but with a maximum of 15 people in the restaurant, that's not surprising. The third order was never delivered after three inquiries and reordering with a staff member, and after over an hour, still nothing. The service was downright terrible. We repeatedly asked if our order was coming, but unfortunately, we received nothing without a single response. This was our last visit to this restaurant. Fortunately, they were realistic enough to accept our offer not to pay for the food.

Unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience, something we're not used to from Solera. It was our last visit (4 people). We found the menu selection disappointing. There was always a flaw with every meal. We regularly missed a dish, or it was lukewarm/cold, or there was frozen carpaccio, or a brownie that was incredibly hard. All the glasses were left on the table, even though we asked for them to be removed. Our group was in a draft, so we had put on our coats. They had left a door open.

We ate at Solera for the first time last night and we enjoyed it. The food and service were fine, but nothing special. The 4 stars are meant for value. You don't often find all-you-can-eat for just over €30, especially in the city center. Tip: make some of the desserts yourself, because they were disappointing.

A very nice tapas restaurant in the heart of Almelo. A beautiful old building with lovely stained-glass windows. There were many surprising appetizers. We had a delicious apple-cucumber salad. The restaurant's decor was also beautiful.

On Friday evening, October 10th, we wanted to have a nice meal here, but unfortunately, that wasn't possible. Upon arrival, we didn't receive the "warm" welcome we're used to at Solera. Once at the table, we had to wait an incredibly long time for our drinks, only to be told after half an hour that the QR code wasn't working. Something about communication? Then we wanted to order food, but that also took a very long time before anyone showed up. After that, things quickly went downhill. We sat for 2.5 hours and were only able to order two drinks because the staff in the restaurant and behind the bar were "busy" with everything except the guests. Not to mention the food, which we had to wait at least 45 minutes to an hour before we could order again. After the people next to us exchanged glances because of the same experience, we had had enough and left. Upon leaving, we respectfully mentioned our experience, but little was done about it, and they gave a lame excuse about two people not being present in the kitchen. It happens, but it's a shame that the guests suffer. No more Solera for us. Too bad.

After all the negative reviews...we had a delicious tapas meal. The service was excellent!

This restaurant is located behind the Van der Valk Almelo hotel and belongs together. We had a delicious meal thanks to a social deal. Friendly service here too.

Nice restaurant with a nice range of delicious tapas, something for everyone

Cozy terrace with friendly service. The food quality is OK, no more than that. Vegetarian options are a bit disappointing. When it's busier, the wait times can be too long.

What a disastrous experience at Restaurant Solera. Tables were left strewn with trash that never got cleared, as if no one cared. The food itself? Shockingly bad. The carpaccio had blue specks, fish flakes were scattered among the ham and melon, and what did finally arrive was cold. The staff looked like you were bothering them—no smile, no empathy, nothing. We had to wait from 6:30 to 8:00 for our first course. Only the half-liter of beer was still somewhat drinkable, but that's about it. Pure disappointment and downright disgusting. Forewarned is forearmed!

Serving took a long time and the food was very mediocre

We came here to celebrate our anniversary in a small way. However, I've never eaten so poorly, and I've had a lot of strange things in my life. Everything was saltless, everything had cheese on it. Dry, uninspired, I don't have enough words to describe how bad the food was. On top of that, half the orders didn't go through, and we had to wait over an hour for one round. That's how I come up with an all-you-can-eat concept. Also, the table and cushions were very dirty. On the bright side, the sangria was decent.

A very nice restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere. The service was also super friendly and helpful. However, the food wasn't exceptional and sometimes not even tasty. It did look nice, though! But that's often the case with all-you-can-eat restaurants. However, I would come back for the atmosphere, but then only order drinks and a small snack.

Solera used to be our favorite restaurant, but it's gone downhill. A positive: the terrace is a wonderful place to sit. We walked in and were able to choose a table. No one came to us for drinks, so we ordered via QR code. After a while, we asked for the menu because we were there for tapas. It was just slammed on the table, and that was it. We couldn't order anything because it hadn't been opened yet. We asked and ordered. Apparently, it wasn't working properly, because we waited 40 minutes and still nothing arrived. We asked two colleagues, and they said they would sort it out. Finally, we had something, but no cutlery. We asked for that too. Meanwhile, four times, something arrived on the table that wasn't for us, but for others. We also ordered potatoes, but fries were delivered instead. We constantly ate separately because the tapas were almost always delivered separately. A foreign-speaking waitress couldn't stop smiling. She put the tapas on the table and was gone. The menu has been significantly reduced; many tapas are no longer available. Absolutely no welcome or hospitality. Unfortunately, it was our favorite restaurant but we won't be going there again

We had a wonderful meal here. Kudos to the chefs. The tapas dishes were also small portions, so we could try a lot :D The service was also friendly.

Delicious food. Ordering via QR code, where the digital menu doesn't always match the paper menu. Inconvenient...

From the outside its a nice looking restaurant. But some repeat visits over the year show flaws that haven't been fixed. If you are with more than 5 people and do the unlimited tapas option then prepare to never get your complete order. You will always be missing stuff. Thankfully it all comes out in a batch. But there is always one or two people who did not get what they ordered. Secondly the service is not that great. This is not even the servers fault, but more so the software they use which seems to be a massive headache. They cant enter it fast. And you get really long pauses between ordering. Not great when you order 3 things per person. They also have an app to order but it doesn't even have all the menu items.. The seating is very nice and it's a lovely place to sit outside too. Over the years the menu items have seen some downgrades, no more salmon, or steak. Pricing is alright.

Disappointing Tapas Experience. I cannot recommend this restaurant. While the "all-you-can-eat tapas" concept sounds appealing, the execution of ordering via smartphone is disastrous. The digital menu doesn't match the physical one, and even the headings in the app don't align with the descriptions, leaving you guessing what you'll receive until it's served. The portion sizes are tiny and very expensive for what you get. The food tastes okay. On a positive note, the service and ambiance were very good.

The girls and boys are serious and do their very best, but there is a clear lack of vision/leadership/oversight; perhaps an experienced manager. This causes things to come too late; we also saw it at the neighbouring table. Too bad; because the ambiance and the drinks are above average for Almelo.

Yesterday evening we ate at Solera again. We come here regularly and therefore see the menu change regularly. I think it has become a bit boring now, especially for the non-meat eaters. The service is very friendly and attentive, big thumbs up. The portions of bread/nachos are really too big. That is why I don't order this anymore, because you quickly get full and then it gets very expensive. Unfortunately the price has gone up again. Without desserts it was fine. I still think it is a shame that for children it is 18.95 or a children's menu. Our 3-year-old doesn't eat the whole children's menu and she certainly won't eat for 18.95. Ordering something is mandatory. I understand of course that you have to draw the line somewhere for children, but I would allow them to eat with their parents up to a certain age (if necessary for a few euros).

Very nice restaurant with a nice big terrace. Nice play area for the kids. The only reason I don't give 5 stars is because we had the all you can eat tapas menu. But as you can see in the pictures the portions are way too big so that after 2 courses we only had room for dessert. While we actually wanted to taste much more. That's a shame.

Read a lot of bad reviews but our experience was the opposite. The staff was very attentive and fast and came every time to ask if everything was to your liking. Dishes were served quickly after ordering and were fine. Not Michelin quality, but you can't expect that for this price. 2 very big pluses of this restaurant: no time limit and you can just order a free carafe of tap water with your wine. I have never experienced that before at an all-you-can-eat concept.

The tapas were delicious. Outside there are cozy seats, where the heaters are turned on in colder weather. A bit of a shame is that sometimes there is an unpleasant sewer smell from the street over the terrace.

We had dinner at Solera on May 5. Everything went wrong and most of the staff did not act cheerfully, all the dishes were mixed up and the dishes from the wrong tables arrived. Fortunately there was 1 waitress with dark long hair, I believe her name is Larissa, who remained cheerful and spontaneous!!! A winner in times of stress!!! Hats off to you for how calm and attentive she remained. The food we received (after 1.5 hours) was delicious. So nothing to complain about the food, but how things turned out was terrible... all respect for Larissa (if that's her name) who at least kept the guests in by explaining everything calmly.

We've been here before, but yesterday it was just really bad... waiting an hour per round. The food was also not tasty this time, probably due to the crowds. Once I asked if everything was going well, but then I was told that it was just busy. Then the drinks were also lukewarm. When paying, the drinks were deducted from the receipt, but we had to pay for the food (the 2 rounds in 3 hours) in full.

We had dinner at Solera last night and it is the last time we come here. We had to wait more than an hour for the first round of food. Because it took so long, we ordered the 2nd round. The cold and warm dishes were mixed up. Hot dishes were cold. It was explained that there was a communication problem with the kitchen. However, that is not the customer's problem. After round 2 we decided to leave because it didn't just happen to us, it didn't improve the atmosphere. No compensation at checkout, just had to pay the full price even though we only had 2 rounds. Also not pleasant to have to order via your own phone with a QR code.

Top, very tasty food, good service. Nice concept. April 27, 2025. Terrace almost empty, and still had to wait a long time for a beer. The food was fine again.

I have been here, the food was tasty, only the fries with cheese gucamole were a bit less, it had no taste at all... the service could be better I had to wait a long time for the food. I got a broken glass which I find strange because they could just throw it away...

Service, atmosphere, no accessibility to toilet, etc. Actually everything was bad. Didn't have anything in stock even though it is Easter Monday. Went here with Social Deal and were happy that we could return to Enschede. Definitely not recommended!

It was just really bad and I don't want to waste any more words on it. Definitely not recommended and hopefully you will also read my Social Deal review which is not posted.

Today I was at Solera in Almelo with my mother. We had to wait a long time before someone came to take our order. Nobody showed up. I had scanned the QR code and ordered two drinks, but it was not possible to order food via the QR code. Eventually an employee came with drinks that we had not ordered. One drink was right, but the other wasn't. Our table was very dirty. We asked for the table to be cleaned and for a menu so we could order something to eat. Finally we got a bottle of apple juice, but they didn't have what we wanted. Moreover, we were not given a straw or glass. We thought we would have to wait a while for a glass so we could drink, but no one came. After an hour of waiting, our table still hadn't been cleaned, we had no glass or straw to drink, and there was still no menu to order anything. I knew Solera isn't always great in terms of service, but this was much worse than I expected. This was my last time going there.

I asked for the menu 3 times and each time he forgot, the order came very late.

It is a nice and cozy restaurant. However, the doors to the conservatory were open, causing a draft. We have been to tapas restaurants more often lately and Solera has missed the boat a bit. The choice of dishes is disappointing, especially the desserts (important for many), but the taste and quality of the dishes could also be improved. The app for orders also does not work properly, this can certainly be improved.

You should not eat when you are hungry because it will take a long time and small amounts to get you.

Delicious food!! Many different and very tasty dishes to choose from. And with 'all you can eat' there is plenty of choice for every eater. Quite a big, and therefore noisy, affair. But the service was very friendly and fast.

Cozy, atmospheric tapas restaurant with nice Spanish music and a friendly boy serving. Turkish roll with steak tips was delicious! No nice weather now, but also a beautiful conservatory and large outdoor terrace. We will definitely come again. Thank you.

Delicious food, something for everyone. All you can eat!

Been here a number of times for tapas over the past 20 years. Cozy tent with a charming interior and nice staff. The food is disappointing. The meat in particular is often on the dry side. I have the feeling that a lot is prepared far in advance and only heated up. A cold fish dish was also served on a too dry cake with trout, which in itself was also quite dry and tasteless. This has not improved over the years. The potential is certainly there, but in my opinion the quality of the food really needs to improve.

Nice restaurant under the care of Van Der Valk Almelo. Grabbed the all-you-can-eat menu. Dishes are of excellent size, can be on the table in not too long, and the taste is also more than excellent. Staff is friendly and alert. Andre Hazes coming out of the speakers is a minor disappointment. Would have liked to hear some Spanish or Mexican music to complete the experience. But despite that, we will definitely go back again 👌😃

The service was very pleasant and good, the atmosphere is also good. The food was disappointing, some dishes were fine but others, such as the chicken with mozzarella and the salad with blue cheese (a large piece of blue cheese with a lettuce leaf and figs) were disappointing. We come to la cubanita regularly and this one is much better and consistent.
