Delicious food, always good quality!

Amazing, delicious and the service for help with the language, beautiful place!

Unfortunately, it wasn't great. The staff had no idea what certain dishes were. We weren't offered many drinks. We had to wait far too long for our order to be taken (1.5 hours) and for our food to be served. The online menu is incorrect. Unfortunately, very disappointing.

Because of our vacation this week, we also ate elsewhere and ordered steak, but this one was seriously, by far, the best. And my wife couldn't finish the Paulus chicken salad she ordered, and it was neatly put in a container. Fantastic, isn't it? In short, highly recommended.

The food was delicious! We were lucky; there was still a table available. It was quite busy. The vegetarian satay Paulus and the fish stew were superb and presented in an original way. Definitely try the Progress ice cream cake. The price-quality ratio is excellent, as are the portions. Highly recommended! If you can snag a table, go, as they don't take reservations.

Friendly staff, okay food, fast and flexible, nice atmosphere

We had a fantastic meal here last week. They have an original menu and the finger food was super fun, beautifully prepared. We'll definitely be back.

Everything was great: the decor, the service, and the food. It's a good thing we live on the other side of the country, otherwise we would definitely come here more often.

Delicious food and fast service for a reasonable price

It's always a pleasure to pop into Paulus's place. The terrace is small, but it was also lovely inside with the windows open. Service is quick, so grabbing a bite to eat is always an option, but we had time and enjoyed the finger food first. The menu on the wall offers so many delicious dishes that we'll be planning another visit to the charming town of Hilvarenbeek soon.

Unfortunately, I can only give the service 5 stars. Last Friday, I had a minor accident with an Aperol glass, resulting in a lot of broken pieces and blood. A team of staff rushed to help, cleaned everything up, and made sure we could continue our evening comfortably. Of course, we also had a delicious meal, but after the accident, ordering a burger wasn't the best idea, as two hands are quite handy for that. In short, highly recommended if you're in Hilvarenbeek and accidentally break a glass ;-) We will definitely be back. A message to the staff: My thumb is doing great; it was treated daily and seems to be healing well. You guys are the best.

We came on a Sunday evening for dinner (4 French people). The staff was extremely patient and helpful despite our terrible English. We ate extremely well and made some wonderful culinary discoveries. The price paid was in line with the quality of the food. We truly recommend this great place in this magnificent city without hesitation. Thank you again for your patience and kindness.

We came for dessert and coffee, but instead of regular coffee, we were served a hot alcoholic coffee drink, which wasn’t quite what we expected — and it was extremely strong for our taste. The lady who served us was very kind, but due to a language barrier, there seemed to be a misunderstanding with the order. That cost us 30€ for two desserts and two drinks that we didn’t even drink.

Very tasty food and large portions

We went there on Friday, March 14th with a family of six, and everything was perfect. The service, the food, and the atmosphere—what a lovely and pleasant evening we had. We'll definitely be back.

Prijs kwaliteit klopt niet! € 19 voor een paar stukjes kippendij met slechts een paar frietjes is echt te veel Dan € 23,50 voor slechts 1 streng sparerib met dezelfde hoeveelheid frietjes, zulke overigens ook nog zacht en zompig waren! Vervolgens scoorden het vispotje en de tomatenrisotto ook al niet al te veel punten. Dus in totaal een dikke onvoldoende! Ik ga graag uit eten en wil daar ook geld aan uitgeven, maar dan moet de prijs en kwaliteit wel kloppen!

Had dinner tonight. Ordered extra fries. But the waitress forgot to bring it. We still had enough of the food that was ordered. Ordered a beer afterwards. She had forgotten to bring that too. Food took a very long time.

Located in the center of Hilvarenbeek, Taverne Paulus attaches great importance to "Brabant Conviviality".

Friendly people; diverse menu: meat, fish, vegetarian. A number of dishes are permanent parts of the menu; some of them are variable. Good food! The (non)alcoholic drinks menu is increasingly extensive, now also including a range of cocktails. There is also a menu with "finger foods".

Lovely spot, cozy meal by the fireplace. Our puppy was along for good socialization. I think she will visit again (her owners certainly too!)

Seats are quite cramped next to each other from other tables, this did not feel very comfortable. The layout could have been different, but unfortunately I don't think this was possible due to lack of space. The food was okay except for the menu that hangs on the wall to read and there were no separate menu cards for each table, which made it uncomfortable for the person sitting at the table above me because this person had to look up behind him completely uncomfortably, which made it uncomfortable. reading the menu was difficult and it seemed as if other people were looking at you all the time because they wanted to read the menu above our heads.

Super mooie locatie, heerlijk eten! Wel jammer dat aantal gerechten niet na 21.00 beschikbaar zijn. Terwijl dat wel op de kaart vermeld staat. Ook om 21.02 niet meer.. Beetje rommelig wat betreft personeel. Tip zou zijn, maak die steamer 10 min later schoon!

Had dinner with spare ribs, fries and salad. Was delicious.

Really nice dinner last night. I have never had such good spare ribs as here, just a good piece of meat and very tasty! The last time I had the chicken satay here, it was also incredibly tasty! =D

Delicious vegetarian salad eaten outside on the terrace. Personally, I think the two-person tables are too close together. And the vegetarian selection could be a little bigger.

Gisteren bij Paulus een visschotel gegeten en het smaakte erg goed. Helaas direct na het eten kreeg ik last van mijn maag en heb moeten overgeven. Waar de oorzaak lag is niet duidleijk, maar ik denk wel dat het aan het eten lag, omdat het direct na het eten op kwam. Heb daarom in de keuken navraag gedaan, maar het werd een beetje weg gewuifd. Ze kwamen wel met een glaasje water.

Lekker eten, goeie bierkaart! In de serre zit je erg fijn met kindjes. De spareribs zijn een aanrader!

Lekker gegeten. Vriedelijke bediening en goed eten. Gezellig om op het terras te zitten en te genieten van de laatste zonnestralen....

We were warmly welcomed with our two small kids. They have high chairs, coloring pencils and a lovely kids menu. Service was great and the food excellent! Nice ambiance! Can only recommend!

Leuk tentje. Erg vriendelijk personeel. Eten was prima helaas was de dry aged beef op.

Portugees vispotje; fantastisch van smaak. Jammer dat er 5 aardappels in gedaan waren voor de vulling. 24,50€ is dan pittig, wat dit vispotje trouwens ook was. Leuk restaurant. Top bediening. Ga er graag naar toe.

Taverne met een fijne warme sfeer, knus opgezet. Erg vriendelijk personeel. Het eten is smaakvol en er staat voor ieder wat wils op de kaart, persoonlijk wel iets aan de prijzige kant. Wel een absolute aanrader.

Goed eten en genoeg. Teminste niet naar de mac na een avond uit eten :)

Niet alleen het eten was goed, ook de sfeer was prima, net zoals de vriendelijke en professionele bediening. Op 31 maart 2022 teruggekomen en deze keer een vegetarische Quorn Enchiladas en een Visschotel gegeten. Waren beide erg lekker, zelfs goed genoeg om nog eens voor terug te komen.

De visschotel voortreffelijk; mijn man vond zijn kogel biefstuk prima . HET toetje het Progressijstaartje ( voor 2 ?) Was uit de kunst!!. De koffie na was AF. Weer een echte aanrader !!!
