TestTafel in Bedrijventerrein Sloterdijk

I have eaten here several times now and am still very enthusiastic about this place. The food is always delicious and is hardly inferior to "real" fine dining restaurants. The drinks including cocktails are also tasty, although I would like it if more attention were paid to non-alcoholic drinks. In terms of atmosphere, it is of course different from an average restaurant, but that also makes it fun and cozy.

I love this place! The food is delicious and divers, I like how they contribute to all kinds of initiatives and to people that can afford less with the Volkskeuken. The atmosphere is great and I've never been in a restaurant where they are so caring and flexible with my complicated diet. Super kind people, I definitely recommend it.

What a fun and especially delicious concept! The food (cherry tomato sorbet with nori cracker or daikon soup with kimchi) is original, well balanced, with interesting flavors. The service is super nice. The nice thing is that by eating there you contribute to the community kitchen where you can eat for a small price. Worth going to!

This restaurant proves that delicious food can be as good for the planet and your wallet as it is for your happiness! One of the most creative and delicious meals I’ve had in a long time. Each dish was unique and well thought out, combining flavors in unexpected ways while not being too over the top. Well balanced flavors all around, especially with the bright highlights from their pickled vegetables. The concept of paying within a range based on what you want to contribute makes this meal potentially very cheap for the value you get, but the friendly and welcoming atmosphere made me want to pay more to help this great project keep running.

If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would. Awesome staff really invested in you enjoying your evening on every level - from absolute knock out vegan food as close to fine dining as you could want for such reasonable prices in such an important and creative community run space to thoughtful and delicious wine pairings. Working in hospitality myself for 10+ years if I could describe hospitality perfection it would be testtafel! Thank you guys, love from Scotland!

Plant-based food taken to the next level for the ones with a limited budget and knowing that by paying just a little bit more you can contribute to De Sering being a support structure for protest movements across Amsterdam.

We went here for the weekly 7 course menu. Hands down one of the best places we've ever been to. Such a great concept for dinner and a unique donation based payment, which offers the flexibility to adjust to your budget. So even if you're a student and have only saved up a bit of money like us, you'll still get to enjoy the experience regardless of the amount that you donated. Every dish was prettily plated, creatively made and a flavor bomb waiting to explode in your mouth. Very nice and friendly people working there and they have a cat drawn in the toilet! What else can you ask for. 10/10 would recommend

Great atmosphere, unpretentious yet chic food, with a much needed touch of activism.

We had dinner here with the department (15 people). It is located on a remote industrial estate, but the terrace of long tables with sun until late makes up for this. We received 7 courses of small vegan snacks, most of them delicious and refined. The bread and dips also very good. The staff is attentive and fast. I recommend it to everyone and will definitely come back!

De Sering offers a rare, ambitious and unique dining experience unlike any other where you eat amazing food and support a local community of artists, dreamers and good-willed entrepreneurs making a difference in an otherwise overly-commercially saturated environment. A breath of fresh air in Amsterdam! Never change!

Fantastic concept that you facilitate the Volkskeuken with TestTafel, where you can choose between a fixed minimum and maximum amount. Enjoyed an exciting and completely vegan 7-course menu with wine pairing menu (half glasses also possible) and excellent unadorned service. Mainly eating at long tables, but it still felt private with your own company. Nice alternative place!

I love this place! The food was amazing, a lot of non-common ingredients and original dishes. Some of them was experimental, out of the frame. The food in courses, so you don’t need to choose. Everything is vegan. They change the menu every week, so you may go there several times and always have unique experiences. You may pay donation 35-75 euro. I liked that bread and water were free.

This time a 7-course menu. The dishes at the TestTable are always newly invented, so you always get a great surprise. It is never standard. A delicious tasting and taste sensation. They can really cook well here and they do it with love and purpose. If we pay a little more, they can also offer meals in the Volkskeuken for people who have less to spend. That also feels very good. The young people who serve you are all equally nice and helpful. They are also super authentic; I found the contact with them so nice and special. A truly special evening. And we didn't even start dancing afterwards ;)

The food was very tasty and creative! Great to have all vegan 7 course meal. Some courses were more interesting than the others but overall, still totally worth it. The menu changes every week so I would like to try it out again. Each course has small portion (which is good considering that there are 7) except for the last savory course, which is quite large. So don’t eat too much bread! It does take quite some time in between the courses so you do get tempted to order more bread.. which is super tasty. I also really liked that the last three courses were desserts. The ice creams were so good!! The food looked much better than in my pictures since it was very dark to take good pictures.. Would be nice to have a sign of TestTafel on the door (if there is, it wasn’t visible) though since it was quite difficult to find. Look for the number 6 and the sign “de Sering” and open the (plastic?) door that seems like an entrance to a greenhouse or a warehouse.

Truly super surprising seven-course vegan menu. Delicious food. Only... this room is not suitable for people with hearing problems. This may be stated on the website or at least indicate that you can contact us about this and see if an adjustment can be made (for example offering that you can sit at the table at the back with your back against the wall so that you cannot hear any noise). behind you or that you sit at the front table so that there is space behind you and the distance to the tables of the Volkskeuken is slightly greater)

I had wanted to come to TestTafel for months and oh boy it did not disappoint. Loved the cheerful friendly atmosphere without any pretence, the food was amazing. My favorites were the tomato sorbet, roasted carrots, watermelon steak and the brownie. I would sell my soul for that brownie.

Wat een leuke plek met leuke mensen en heerlijk eten! Ze zetten echt spannend menu neer - we waren echt verrast door de bijzondere smaakcombinaties en de bijpassende wijnen. LOVE IT!

Echt! Een super avond gehad. Mijn broer en zijn vriendin zijn al overtuigd veganistisch en hebben genoten van de gerechten. En ik, ben nu ook helemaal om. Zo vol smaak en gevarieerd is elke gang die je voorgezet krijgt. En de sfeer is zo super leuk, lekker relaxed. Hondjes zijn welkom. Word ik ook zo blij van. Houden zo! En dan eet je ook nog eens voor een goed doel. Daar betaal ik graag extra voor. Een aanrader.

De verschillende gangen waren erg lekker en verrassend. De gezellige setting, het vriendelijke personeel en de maatschappelijke doelstelling van De Sering maken het helemaal af. Ga hier naartoe!

Waar in Amsterdam kun je een heerlijke 2 gangen vegan lunch vinden voor €4,50 of diner voor €5? Dit kan bij de Sering. De 2 gangen zijn vaak soep en pasta/ rijst met curry en versgebakken brood met evt humus of aioli. Water is gratis en wordt in glazen flessen op de tafels geserveerd. Parkeren(betaald) kan langs de openbare weg en op 5 min loopafstand ligt het station Sloterdijk. Aan het einde vd week zijn er ook 5 en 7 gangen diners voor een kleine prijs. De foto's zijn van de verschillende keren dat ik hier heb geluncht.

Leuke plek, heerlijk eten, lekkere wijn en sympathieke mensen bovendien. Dit mag je niet missen!

Super nice experience with the experimental menu. Very gezellig atmosphere with the long tables. Nice drinks and great food! The staff were great and their hard work really shows in the quality of food and the casual, at home, environment. That this independent, vegan, alternative kitchen is 5 minutes away from the high rise corporate offices at Sloterdijk makes it even better. Would highly recommend anyone to go for a fun evening and for great food!

Een verjaardag gevierd van een vriendin. We wisten niet wat we konden verwachten maar man man man wat hebben wij heerlijk gegeten en genoten ga zo door!!

Wat een leuke plek! Prachtige maaltijden met vlotte bediening, en zeer sympathiek dat er ook 'voor de kleinere portemonnee' wat wils is. En zo zit je gezellig met z'n allen aan lange tafels! Fijne sfeer! En... wat ook nog kan is voor diegenen die zich dat kunnen permitteren: betaal óók een maaltijd voor een ander. Aanrader!

Ongelofelijk wat je hier allemaal krijgt! Een ongepolijste sfeer, een broedplaatsrestaurant, heel verrassende gerechten, leuk terras, leuk gemêleerd publiek (van alles wat). Mijn favoriet was het doperwtenijs, echt ontzettend lekker! Dit is een avontuurlijke plek, en alles is vegan/vegetarisch! Maar mijn vleesetende vrienden waren ook héél enthousiast! Ga erheen, ze zitten er maar een paar jaar.
