The Breakfast Club in Weesperzijde

Really disappointing experience. We placed two very simple orders and waited close to an hour for our food, which arrived cold. Throughout the wait, there were several occasions where we wanted to order more drinks, but the wait staff were inattentive and often standing around talking. By the time our food arrived, we were rushed to leave as we hadn’t anticipated being there so long and had other commitments. When paying and asked how everything was, we explained that the wait had been very long and that while the food was tasty, it was cold. The only response we received was, “It was less than 20 minutes - that’s standard,” which was incorrect. We arrived at 11:30am, ordered shortly after, and left at 12:30pm after quickly eating. The lack of accountability and dismissive response from staff was frustrating. It seemed likely our food had been sitting ready for some time while staff were chatting. Unfortunately, we won’t be in a rush to return.

The food is very tasty and looks great, it didn't take long to be served, the staff are very friendly, and we also loved the decor. Our only suggestion is to add the Amsterdam breakfast to the City Breakfasts section! Cheers!

Of all the locations I have been to, this one oa the most cramped. Additionally when I went in today I waited over 20 munutes, watching parties who came in after me get their orser token. I had to flag down a server. After I ordered ahe told me it would take close to 30 minutes to get my food because they were short ataffed. They weren't too shoet staffed to serve people qho came in after me. I ended up cancellung my order and leaving.

I had avocado toast and pancakes. It was the best I've ever had. The food takes a while, but it's incredibly fresh and truly delicious! I'll definitely be back.

Not sure why the rating isn’t higher, we enjoyed our breakfast here. The chicken and waffles was sooo delicious, all of the components came together so well, a hint of maple syrup with a little spice too mmm. My bf really liked the London breakfast he kept talking about the delicious mushrooms all day. Tasty chai too. It has a nice atmosphere with several big windows to sit by or just look out of. Service wasn’t fast but it wasn’t slow either, we weren’t in a hurry and it was worth it.

The food was SO good! I had the chicken burger 🍔, highly recommended! The service was great too. everyone was super kind and attentive. I’d definitely go back again

Very long to be served and get food out, along with trying to pay so we can leave. Pancakes were okay, whereas the London breakfast was better. I’d say it’s quite expensive for what it is, they had an option to pay €2 euro extra for hp sauce?

Terrible customer service and racist. We were told there’s no table for 3 (my husband, myself and our 2 years old). How is that possible??. We told them to still give us the table for 2 since our toddler will be in her stroller. The waitress then said we should put out stroller down and she’s going to get us a a baby chair. Why then refuse us entry if you knew you had a baby chair. Service was also terrible.

I don't understand why there are so many bad reviews here. In our five days in Amsterdam, this was our best restaurant experience. The service, food, and price were all in perfect proportion!

A superb discovery and quality service 👌🏻 We came on a Wednesday morning, without a reservation, and had a great meal: the tuna focaccia was incredible and the carrot cake was delicious. The prices are a bit expensive, but that's typical of Amsterdam, I think. We'll be back with pleasure!

Nice vibe and location, yummy pancakes

The food was good, but the club sandwich was very dry. Lots of meat, bread, and overall just not "fresh" enough. A slice of tomato and two more lettuce leaves would definitely have given this place 4 stars. The service is really okay, but not particularly outstanding. All in all, more 3 than 4 stars.

Absolute garbage. €10 for a dry slice of bread, two slices of ham, and scrambled eggs that tasted like nothing. They forgot the bacon, and they only give you butter if you ask.

The Breakfast Club was about 10 min walk from our hotel in Amsterdam, which had indoor and outdoor seating. Breakfast was delicious! The French Toast with Fruits was superb! The Croissant with butter and jam was great to start the day. Service was fast and friendly.

Good atmosphere but the waitress, a freckly girl with dark hair was un emotive and rather cold. She was very unnatentive, didn't give us cutlery or ask us how our food was. On the matter of food, I had the chicken waffle. I was very disappointed to see that neither the waffle or the chicken was home made, and neither tasted fresh. The only fresh thing on that plate was the cucumber. It was un seasoned, dry and flavourless, which for a dish drowned in Stracha is a hard thing to do. My sister had the Mexico city breakfast which she described as the worst breakfast shes ever eaten. Coffee was small and uninspiring and tasted like dirty water. They wouldn't even let us split the bill, and charged us for sauces. Overall a very poor experience, wouldn't recommend if you want to pay for food that is worth your money. Please train your waitresses in proper service etiquette, they didn't even smile at us.

We stopped by for breakfast spontaneously and got a seat without any problems. (Larger groups should make reservations, however.) The staff was friendly and the food was fresh and delicious. The prices are perfectly reasonable for a big city. We enjoyed it so much we came back for breakfast.

We came here spontaneously and found a seat right away. We received a friendly welcome and were served promptly. The place is clean and inviting. There's a good selection of food and drinks. My sandwich was tasty and filling. The staff is engaging and attentive. The price-performance ratio is okay.

Our hotel recommended this place and frankly I don't know why. Service was pretty slow, but very friendly, from sitting down to being served it took around 30 minutes. The food was not good, basically unseasoned, and the driest Omelette I've ever eaten. The outside seating is nice!

A nice coffee shop with plenty of space inside and out. The coffee is good, the food is okay, but the service could be faster. They're nice, but walking back empty-handed when several tables are full isn't practical. It means extra walking, which means they're always behind.

Been here twice now for breakfast and it’s been lovely both times. The drinks are spot on, pancakes were really tasty, and the bread they use is proper decent – fresh and full of flavour. Staff are sound too – friendly without being over the top. Just a nice, chilled place to start your day. Would definitely go back.

I never eat breakfast, but on the advice of someone who'd been there before, I "sacrificed" myself. I must admit, the sacrifice wasn't in vain. Good, generous dishes, and a reasonable price/quality ratio for Amsterdam. Friendly staff, clean environment.

The Breakfast Club is a chill spot for brunch anytime. The vibe is relaxed and casual, not too crowded even on weekends. I love their fluffy pancakes perfectly soft and topped with fresh fruit. The huevos rancheros is also tasty, with a nice kick from the jalapeños. Their breakfast burger is a bit of a treat, loaded with all the good stuff. They’ve got options for vegans and vegetarians too, which is cool. Service can be a bit slow sometimes, but the food is worth the wait. A solid spot to kick off the day.

I wanted to revisit an amazing experience I had a few years ago, but was sorely disappointed. Their most recent recipe includes reheated waffles from Albert Heijn and chicken strips. Don't trust the pictures from 3-5 years ago.

We have had great experience, food was amazing.. We ordered, Mexican dish & classic french toast..

The food is really good as always. The new servers however, weren’t. There were 2 young girls that kept chatting. We tried to order something but they didn’t come outside to take orders. A couple next to us had to go inside to order something. When we did finally order, they messed up the drinks twice. I also got oatmilk in my matcha latte which I didn’t ask for (and had to pay extra for). I have an intolerance to oatmilk so the rest of my day was ruined

Staff seemed mentally unstable and sometimes they forgot they were serving us. Food took absolutely ages and drinks were so slow.

We entered the almost empty restaurant to have something to eat and drink. There was a young man behind the bar and a young woman serving. Despite waving, they ignored us. After half an hour, we left without a drink.

Fast service and very good food. We will definitely be back: the menu is stocked with so many delicious meals to choose from! The Breakfast Club sandwich was yummy and came with a generous number of chips. The grilled Brie sandwich was also amazing, and we chose to add bacon which worked really well. I’m not usually a bacon person but theirs was delicious.

I was really excited to try this place but left really disappointed. I was there with my family and didn't get my order taken until I had to signal someone to come take my order. People where coming in after my family and was getting their order taken right away. I don’t know if it was because we were American but it felt very unfriendly. Finally the lady took our order and food came which was good. Next as we are eating one of the waitress came by our table and starting counting the seats. (when we first walked in, they said pick any seat you would like to sit at so we sat at the long table in the back) I asked the waitress would you like for us to move to this three table and she said no there was a party coming in later about 40 to 50 minutes and we should be ok. We said ok but it was rude to just stand there looking and counting as we are trying to enjoy time. About 20 minutes into us eating. She asked if we can move to a different side of the restaurant because the table. Was needed for the large party right outside. We said no we will pay and leave. She took off a very drinks off the bill . It was just completely rude and we was rushed. I will never come back to this place!

Went yesterday morning. That was quite disappointing. Lady at the bar very unfriendly, unmotivated, had to ask for my coffee twice. Back with an unfriendly answer. The boy who worked there tried to make up for it. Ended up getting almost cold coffee. Then the bouncer. 3 eggs plain on bread. A little lettuce on the side and they charge 10 euros for that... too bad I'm used to better from you...

Visitado para el desayuno un sábado por la mañana. No era lo mejor para las opciones veganas con solo 2 en el menú, ninguno de los cuales era tradicional “desayuno”. Opté por la hamburguesa de desayuno vegana, que era una empanada de carne falsa con queso vegano, encurtidos, tomates y lechuga y servida con papas fritas, así que una opción de desayuno un poco extraña, pero me fui con ella! Me preguntaba si se había dejado debajo de una lámpara de calor durante un tiempo, ya que el bollo de pan se había endurecido y se estaba desmoronando, sin embargo, la empanada de carne falsa parecía mal cocida y estaba fría en el medio. Pedí un poco de mayonesa vegana para las papas fritas, pero la camarera me dijo que no creía que tuvieran, a pesar de que había algo en la hamburguesa. The food was great and delicious, however the service was abhorrent. We had to wait more than an hour for our food which delayed all our travel plans, most tables around us were not cleaned and sat there with dishes and cutlery the entire time we were there.

Op zondag komen we hier voor een ontbijtje. Er wordt gezegd dat het iets langer kan duren omdat het druk is. Ik wil graag mijn thee samen met het eten krijgen, dat lukt al niet, drankjes komen snel, echter het eten duurt en duurt, om ons heen krijgen mensen die na ons binnenkomen al hun eten. Na drie kwartier wordt er gemeld dat onze bon zoek is geraakt in de keuken. Eindelijk komt dan het eten. De gefrituurde kip met wafel komt volgens mij zo uit de vriezer van de groothandel, kraak nog smaak en fantasieloos eten. De avocado toast is hier een snee dik brood met iets wat door moet gaan voor smashed avocado maar dat niets meer is dan een soort smakeloze avocado puree uit een grote pot, hier zit geen verse avocado bij, een eitje en wat tomaat en je bent hiervoor 13,50 euro armer. Daarnaast wordt je in dit tentje in het Engels aangesproken. Al met al een zeer teleurstellende ervaring. Uiteindelijk kregen we het eten gratis, maar dan nog zien ze ons hier niet meer terug, met hun koude thee en fabrieks voedsel.

Expensive and long wait for half warm food. Vegan burger from €19!!! (lunch-size!) and brie sandwich (2 slices of white bread for €14) arrived half warm after a very long wait (it was not very busy and there were plenty of staff walking around). No cutlery is provided; you can look for that yourself. No mayonnaise or ketchup for the fries.

We tried chicken waffle but unfortunately we didn't like it at all, the waffle was too sweet and the portions were small.

Avocado toast, eggs and bacon served at fridge temperature (including the fried egg) I couldn’t finish it and husband had English breakfast where every item was either stone cold and solid or swimming in grease. We weren’t asked if we enjoyed our breakfast. Probably for the best. OJ was nice. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Dozy, vague, untrained staff who hang around wondering what to do next and who clearly don’t know how to service a busy restaurant. No systems in place. Ask you to sit anywhere you like then disappear for 20min only to serve the most recent table who sat down purely because they happened to notice them. Weak terrible coffee didn’t improve the experience.

I didn’t visit the place in almost a year due to a bad experience. Tried to give it another chance, food took 30min and it was very disappointing. In theory what I got were eggs Benedict, worse eggs Benedict I had. Quality is even worse than before, they clearly have no idea on how to make hollandaise sauce.

Lovely staff, great atmosphere, and amazing food. My blueberry pancakes were delicious! The staff were very kind and friendly, speaking English while we visited on holiday.
