Friendly service. The food wasn't anything special. Truffle fries are not recommended.

Service was relatively slow, when the food arrieved, fries were too geasy and the burger was a little pink in the middle. But it seemed okay. Sadly, later in the night the bathroom was necessary as all the food came back up...

We had dinner here after a day of shopping. Very friendly and fast service! The fries and burger were delicious.

With 15 residents from a nearby nursing home (and lots of helpers) ♿️, we enjoyed coffee and apple pie here after a boat trip. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful; they even made room for our large group. Thank you so much! We'd love to come back. We even heard the residents bragging about the apple pie that evening!

They have some amazing burgers here!! Absolutely AMAZING! We both had the Utrecht Hamburger. It tastes just as good as it looks. You can even choose how well done you want it. The staff is also very friendly. Super nice people. If you want a good (and affordable) meal at Hoog Catharijne, this is definitely recommended. We'll be back!

After we order they let us waiting almost one hour, and they don’t say nothing, after that much time I ask the personal what happen with the order, he go to check, he laugh in our face and says that he don’t know what happen or he forgot to put it, but in the much time nobody ask us nothing, they just let us waiting! Bad serving, the food is okay, but the personal disgusting!

Don't eat here. We sat here for around 20 minutes and no one noticed us or came to get our order. To late, we go to another place :)

We dropped in before a concert . Had a korean chicken burger - my daughter a burger with cheeses . Mine was fine hers was a bit raw . Drinks were good - service good. Medium is not raw :-)

We sat down to eat, 3 adults. We asked for a menu in English and it took 10 minutes to bring it to us. I asked the waitress about a Dutch beer (Affligem Bold) if it was a bit bitter or not. She immediately replied in a tone that because of her age, 17 years old, she didn't know. Her behavior was very rude to someone who is the same age as her parents. She could have asked someone older who works there and answered me. So if I asked her something about the meat in the hamburgers, what would she say that she is vegetarian? She was supposed to serve the customers. The burgers we ordered were tasty but a bit expensive. We never went back to the store.

My mother and I ordered drinks here. We waited about 20 minutes. I wanted cash, but they were out. It was a real shame. The card machine was malfunctioning, so we had to pay cash. I wouldn't recommend going here.

My favorite burger in Utrecht. High quality meat, fresh, tasty. Good lemonade.

Good food, nothing special, just good

I've never experienced anything like this before. First, we're greeted by a very nice lady who barks at us to wait at the front until we're helped, only to be given a table in a relatively quiet restaurant. After sitting for 15 minutes, we're finally allowed to order. Then it takes another 20 minutes for our drinks to arrive. We're not very demanding, but we don't feel particularly welcome anymore. After all the tables after us have received their orders, 40 minutes later, I go to ask what's going on. The lady tells us it will take another 3 minutes, only to receive a completely wrong order. At this point, we weren't willing to wait for a solution and left. It's truly awful. Improve your hospitality and customer service. We're skipping this one; it's not worth the effort. Such a shame.

Not a pleasant experience here. The staff doesn't listen to you, and they forgot three drinks and served a burger that was still raw when it was supposed to be rare. Furthermore, there's no good communication regarding seating, and the staff is unfriendly. Not really recommended in Utrecht, unfortunately.

The most terrible Cesar salad ever. And when l complained to the waiter he said "Sorry to hear that". Never again!!!

Unfortunately, it wasn't a good experience. I ordered a medium burger, but it arrived rare. The onion rings had clearly been pre-fried somewhere and were stuck onto the burger while it was still cold. The bacon and cheese were also clearly pre-prepared because they were ALSO placed cold on the burger. Still-fresh syrup and cola. Dirty table and floor. You do get new food if you complain, but the quality remains unchanged.

This is our third time eating at this restaurant, and I can't understand why. The service was terrible from the start. We didn't get our drinks until after we got our food, and only after we had to ask for them. The glasses were obviously dirty. Furthermore, the burger bun was soaked with sauce, making it soggy. After finishing our food, we waited three-quarters of an hour for the waitress to come and take our dirty plates away. I had to go up to the table myself to ask them to clear our table. That's absolutely unacceptable. We also ordered hot chocolate, but "hot" isn't the best way to describe it. We waited longer for the lukewarm chocolate than for our food. We won't be seeing you again.

Poor service and food:we had a late afternoon meal here and it was not super busy. Plenty of empty tables. We had a table right by the drink service station and where the kitchen sends out food for waiters to deliver to tables. We witnessed plates of food orders sitting under the heat lamps for at least 10 minutes (including our order) completely ignored by several waiters walking right by. When the food finally got delivered to our table, the bottom bun of the burgers were soaked in oil In completely soggy. I wasn’t even able to pick up the hamburger so I had to eat it with knife and fork and leave the oil soaked bottom bun. The hamburger patty was cooked to medium pink, even though we specifically asked for medium well. As such, the meat is flavorless and very tough. Hamburger is not an easy food to messed up when it is freshly prepared. Unfortunately, this is the worst hamburger we have ever had in a restaurant setting. The draft beers we ordered also tasted watered down and off temperature. We ate here because it is in the mall right around the corner from our hotel. We should have search a bit further out for better options.

Went in there to grab a coffee… had to wait a long time just to receive a menu and then couldn’t even get a spoon for my coffee.

We sat down at the table and after fifteen minutes had to indicate that we wanted to order. After half an hour, we still hadn't received anything. We asked if it was coming, but she hadn't even entered it yet.

The food was nice and hot, and we opted for a chicken burger, which was excellent. However, I wasn't impressed with the service. To be honest, the staff didn't look very presentable, and one employee didn't smell fresh. Every time he walked by, a sour smell of sweat wafted in my direction. This eventually permeated the entire restaurant. I don't understand why colleagues don't address him about it, as it affects the overall experience. When we were done, I was glad he wasn't coming, otherwise I would have thrown up. Personally, I wouldn't eat here again.

The Burger Federation offers a selection of nice burgers, mostly beef burgers and a couple of chicken burgers. Its location in the Hoog Catharijne, and near Utrecht Centraal is really handy for a quick tasty burger meal, perhaps before a concert in nearby TivoliVredenburg. The Hoge Utrecht Burger is filled with tasty grilled Angus beef, bacon and other goodies in a brioche bun. And you can have a side salad as a healthy alternative to fries to go with it.

The food was absolutely disgusting, and my burger had a chemical smell. From the first bite, I was like, "This burger stinks, it's absolutely disgusting!" Never again! A waste of money!

A very long wait (50 minutes for fries). Also, the loaded fries with chicken had no chicken in them; they tasted more like pork. The Parmesan fries had little pieces of Parmesan cheese sprinkled on them, but they barely tasted of anything.

We spend a hamburger menu costing 18 euros, now at the MC you get a bigger one for less than 10 euros, scandalous

I wanted to eat here today with three of us, so I sat at one table and asked a male server if I could pull up a chair. He agreed, but a female server didn't, saying we could only sit at the high tables. We preferred not to, as my parents were less comfortable there. Eventually, a table for four became available, where the male server said we could sit, but then the female server came and told another family who had just arrived to sit there. It was clear to us then that they didn't necessarily want to serve us, and we left for the gyro bar across the street, which, by the way, provided excellent service!

The first time I went here, it was two-thirds sold out. Today I arrived at 11:15, and the sign said it would be open from 10:00. Unfortunately, I had to leave because the man in the kitchen said they weren't open.

Takeout wasn't listed as takeout, and my friend who was inside wasn't allowed to go, and the staff is unfriendly. Expensive for what you get.

Add goat cheese and pickles everywhere! Everything becomes much tastier with them))) You won't regret it

The toilets were absolutely filthy, the whole floor was covered in water. The burgers were probably not seasoned, they lacked any semblance of actual flavour. The sweet potato fries were over-fried. And when we left we didn't even get a "did you enjoy your meal" or "good evening" The "homemade" lemonades were good though

I went to this restaurant, but I was treated very poorly. One of the staff members spoke to me in a very rude manner, asking what I wanted in a harsh tone. She then told me to wait at the entrance as if I were some kind of criminal. Customer service is one of the main reasons people choose to dine at a restaurant. If customers are treated badly, you can be sure they won’t come back — just like I won’t.

Average fast food, but slow. Won’t come again, if I don’t have to.

We were here at 12:30. We had to wait 45 minutes for the food. The bun and the burger were dry. The burger was not medium rare for all 4 of us, but hard and overcooked. Even a little burnt. We will not be coming back here.

I had dinner here on a Saturday and will definitely come back. The food and drinks were of good quality, and the service top notch. The only downside can be that the BF is located on a corner of the mall route, so if you're not comfortable with people passing by, try to find a place to sit deeper inside. Thanks again for your hospitality Bogs! It was great to have you as our host.

Together with colleagues I had dinner here in the evening. The waitress was very friendly and also clearly took my allergies into account and these were also well coordinated with the kitchen. The rest of the staff only sat at the bar so that only one person was constantly walking back and forth. There was no collegiality. The food was otherwise delicious.

I recently visited The Burger Federation in Hoog Catharijne, because I wanted to keep an eye on my lunch budget, and I was really pleasantly surprised! Their great value menu offered fantastic choices. I went for the classic cheeseburger combo. It was fresh, juicy and full of flavour. The fries were deliciously crispy and the portion size was more than enough for the price. The restaurant was tidy, the service was quick and I received my meal very quickly, even during the lunch rush. This is without a doubt a favorite spot for anyone looking for a hearty and affordable meal in the heart of Utrecht. I will definitely come back here!

fake reviews bad burgers that smells and taste like sewage

Hamburgers quite good but service from staff mediocre. They mainly talk to each other instead of dealing with waiting customers. The layout of the restaurant is also not pleasant. There is more to be gained from that, especially in such a place.

It looks like whoever designed the place, had no concern what so ever. Seats were not comfy at all. Food was letrally tasteless, one of the fries came cold. the other was super hot. Only the staff were good ..... Not everyone of them. I won't go there again.

absolute dog burger. waiter was basically non existant, my girlfriend ordered an ice tea which got like 5 minutes after we ordered. I ordered a strawberry milkshake which i had to wait for for about 20-30 minutes. My milkshake arrived along with our food and after having to wait for so long they gave me the WRONG milkshake. The burger was not that good, even a whopper is more whopping. bread was really dry too and our overall experience there was not great. they even asked for a tip when we payed. if we are in hoog catherijne again, we will go to mcdonalds instead, better price, better burgers. i’d rather eat anywhere else im never coming back here

Very good burgers with fairly fresh bread and juicy meat, not overcooked. The service is fast and the staff are quite cheerful and helpful. My only comment was on the fries. They were a little hard, it looked like they were annealed.

The service was not attentive and some guests left after a short time. Food sat on the counter for a long time before it was served. Already cold in places.

If you like raw loaded fries. Then you can go there. But reporting about the fries is not possible because no one was seen after serving. Reported when paying.

Possibly the worst burger I've ever had, almost like it was made badly on purpose. Taste is off, bread is basically blood soaked and falling apart. A weird oily taste. Took two bites and removed all the ingredients except the meat and tried with bbq sauce just to save it but it was still inedible. Absolutely not worth the price, McDonald's has better burgers.

One of the worst experiences that I had in a restaurant so far, the burger was mega dry, the main waiter disappeared and we have been served by the Chef. In the end we have seen a mouse. 🤮

Business has deteriorated considerably since the last time I was there. Burgers were small. Fries were dry and came from the air fryer I think. Only 1 toilet for the men and 1 for the ladies, and they were dirty. We had to ask for napkins ourselves. Not worth repeating.

The atmosphere is a bit like a fast food chain. There were sauces on the table such as mayo, ketchup, etc., which is nice because then you can add it yourself, if the jars were not empty. It was very busy, we got a table that was still dirty. By the way, it was cleaned when we indicated it. The staff was nice. Great for a (quick) meal once in a while. Not recommended to "really" eat out.

Ate here yesterday with my partner and daughter. Very good service. I was asked if the food was to my liking. My partner indicated that he expected more cheese on the parmesan fries. The lady offered to get more cheese. Furthermore, she was very friendly and very sweet to our daughter. She brought a coloring page and pencils of her own, offered to take pictures of us (when she saw us taking pictures of each other) and gave our daughter a treat after dinner. Furthermore, the other staff were also very friendly. 👏🏻 And my partner really liked the beer.

Sit within 2 minutes. Wait 20 minutes to take order. Wait 20 minutes for food. There were 5 other tables with people, the rest completely empty. This was a Thursday afternoon at 2:30, let alone a busy evening.

very incompetent staff. tables were not cleaned. I had to indicate this myself after a long wait, after which an employee said "oh yes", then after an eternity of waiting we got our food. Fine. But there was no cutlery included, while you should be given cutlery before you receive your food. I get up and walk over to indicate it, and she gives me a napkin, a fork and a knife. So I'm going back to grab something for my friend as well. Very incompetent and slow. You only have one job, do it well. I was not asked how I wanted my burger cooked, after which I was given an extremely raw burger. In short, not recommended.

Ordered the Utrecht Tower & the Austrian Chicken burger. Both were very bland unfortunately. Very disappointing, especially for the pricepoint. €17 for a bland burger is not okay.

Hi, Today me and my husband had a very negative experience in this restaurant in Utrecht . First we waited to be seated as instructed at the entrance but no one appeared and since we saw empty tables we headed towards one of the at the back of the restaurant. When we almost reached the table an employee approached us and in a rude tone told us to go back to the entrance and wait to be seated even though the place was only half full. We told them there was no one to meet us there but they insisted. We went out and we are not coming back again to be treated with such disrespect!.

We had 2 burgers with french fries. The person who welcomed us informed us about delays, but the food was served just in time.

Yesterday we ordered 2 fries with mayo, the bag of fries was overfilled, the mayonnaise fell off and the fries were hard and tasted like old fat... unfortunately we didn't eat the fries.

It's expensive. A hamburger and a 20 cl bottle of water 22 euros. They ask you for a mandatory tip. Small portions. The burger is good.

The normal fries are a bit limp, the parma fries are not what they should be. The sweet potato fries are good. The Sloppy burger was missing the chili and sauce is not appropriate. The Utrecht burger was well received... it is not the best burger ever, but it is a good place for a reasonable meal.

service was so slow, i ordered burger with coleslaw and about 20 minutes after i ordered they came to say there’s no coleslaw so i said fries instead and then another 20 minutes to make the burger and the fries came cold. the burger was disgusting like the meat is rotten or way past it’s date, i ate 2 bites and left it on the plate. at the end they asked me how it was, i said that actually i think something is not ok with the meat and the waiter and chef just made faces at each other, so not sure why they even asked (i wouldn’t have even said anything if they didn’t ask). i’ve been coming to this place for years and it’s been very consistent in going downhill, today was the last time.

Glasses and mustache don't speak Dutch, but that's not the problem. However, he can learn some manners from Burger King immigrants. Then the food. Extremely dry and tiny. Yes, that will be 60e incl. Some drinks please. Then at the end we have to fiddle around with glasses and mustaches for a tip, so no. And hurry up and have a nice day!

A really great place to have something to eat. Service is good and the food is tasty. I'm not a fan of the sweet buns they use for the hamburger. Still a crazy combination and feels like a cheap alternative to a fresher sandwich.

The food was tasty before we finally got it on the table, but the service could have been better, we got the wrong thing, and a menu ended up on the floor and no glass to drink from.

Food is okay, Costwise higher but that is fine. My only suggestion is, go there only if have enough patience to wait. Me with my family had to wait 20 minutes before getting 4 burgers.

I ordered "nachos" from this restaurant yesterday afternoon, but this dish had not been heated and the cheese had not even melted.

I'm generally a high reviewer if a place gets the basic food service right, but this place deserves nothing but the couple of stars for the "service" they provided. We went here for an early dinner at around 4pm on a random Tuesday after doing a bit of shopping. There was about 6 tables on the go, and about 5-6 servers on break rotation from what I could see. 4 of the servers were standing around talking at the bar while 1 server was speeding around trying to serve the tables and take orders. At this point the two empty tables next to us still had food not having been cleared and would remain so for a good 10 minutes. Starting out it took about 5 minutes for this one server to make her way over and take our drinks order, mind there was 6 tables on the go tops and still 4 servers chatting. We ordered a coke and a milkshake, which then took another 5 minutes getting to us. At this point a guy (assuming the host) came back from his break and cleared the tables next to us, then went and stood at the front desk. Our food arrived, a decent burger, bun was cold but everything else was fine. At no point did anyone ask us how the food was or if we required anything else (we didn't), and I observed no other tables being asked at any point during our service, but assuming this is the expectation when half the staff is busy standing around chatting/laughing and the 'host' is busy standing around at the front desk waiting. At the end i had to go up and pay, not a problem, and here the host had the decency to ask if we'd want to tip 10% or 20% to which I didn't reply. As said, the burger was decent, but needless to say we won't be coming back.

The food was really delicious, but unfortunately the rings on the burger with onion rings were cold. Service is very slow and does not understand the word "alternating tap" (experienced this twice already). Hygiene is not very good here either. The table was not cleaned before we sat down and clouds of dust hang on the lamps. Service also seems to work at cross purposes, leaving empty plates while they still bring drinks.

They could improve. the meat is not bad, the service really needs an upgrade...

Delicious burgers, plenty of choice

Today (Friday, October 25, 2024) we had a delicious dinner here. The first thing that stands out and what I consider a negative point is that you are very close to each other here, some tables are at most a meter apart, maybe even just over half a meter apart. In short, you are quite close to each other. As for the rest, the atmosphere is excellent, beautifully lit, great open kitchen and, very importantly, very cozy. 4 stars The food, the most expensive burger on the menu is 17.50, many burger restaurant chains can follow this example. For this price you get a large burger, richly topped and a generous portion of fries that are fresh from the fat. Price/quality is definitely a very good 5 stars. Service: Got a table quickly, quickly ordered, and before you know it your food is served by extremely friendly staff 5 stars

My son and I wanted to eat here before the Eivør concert in Vredenburg. We had already sat down, had already ordered something to drink and when choosing the dishes we indicated that one of us has a peanut allergy. The person who helped us at the table was super attentive and went straight to the chef. He indicated that we had better not take any risks. The chance that peanut traces could be present was too great. We got our drink on the house, we had to find another place to eat, but we both thought it was great how the waitress lady and the cook acted. Thanks!

Don't get fooled by the corporate look or the location, it is a great burger joint, innovative in its own way, good quality and best of all a staff which brings it all together.
