Charged for fries and avocado and did not add them to my pick up order.

The service here leaves much to be desired! After the waiters saw me and that I was calling out, I was completely ignored. Rude, pushy, and very unfriendly. They went to the next table and continued to ignore my calls until I shouted loudly. They even rolled their eyes. I haven't experienced anything like that in a long time. It's a shame. The only thing I can say is that the decor is nice. The food was average, and the service was grotesque! I unfortunately can't recommend it, and especially not the tables right by the bar, as the blender runs constantly. What a pity.

Mediocre food and service. The price are insanely high and also extra 15% service charge is added to the bill. Why? Is my choice to leave a tip and after the service we received, even 50 cent tip would be too much. Not recommended

We had a nice family dinner at The Burger Room. The burgers were good across the board, including the classic burgers, the fried chicken burger, and the veggie burger. The sides were also enjoyable and complemented the meal well. Unfortunately, the Caesar salad and the desserts were quite mediocre and didn’t live up to the rest of the food. The service was friendly and attentive throughout our visit. The atmosphere, however, felt a bit dry and lacked some warmth or character. The biggest downside was the value for money. While the food was good, the prices are exceptionally high for what is essentially a burger restaurant, making it difficult to justify the overall cost. Overall, a pleasant meal, but the pricing would make us think twice before returning.

A burguer to forget. We asked for rare, said they could only do medium... What we finally got was well done. Extra Angus meat thrown away for nothing. Regular fries. Minuscule pickles... The supposedly crispy panko burguer was even worse (no panko whatsoever) Pffft... Come on guys! It's not that hard to make a proper burguer. Bad experience

The decor is really cool (just look at the ceiling 😉). The burgers are generous and hearty. The fries could use a bit more seasoning. The price-performance ratio is on the higher end.

One note be ready to shell out extra money on drinks because there is not tap water here. Other than that the food was great! This is by far one of the best burgers I've had in Europe. The char on the patty, the spices, the caramelize onions the freshness of the bun all made for one hell of a burger. The theme of the restaurant is also immaculate the colors really catch you. If you love wizard of Oz it worth giving it a go. I recommend the burger room burger (it is massive so either plan to save some for later or bring someone to help you finish it)

Prices on the menu are different than on the receipt. Gin and tonic on the menu for 12 ounces on the bill, 13.9 ounces. The food is decent but nothing special. The service is friendly but unable to resolve customer-oriented issues.

Omg! I was craving a burger in Amsterdam, was told about this place so headed over. The blue cheese and pepper sauce burger absolutely blew my mind! I would genuinely get on a plane and head over there from the UK for a day trip just for that burger! Staff were all super lovely. We took our burger and fries to vondal park and it was such a nice place to eat.

A fine place to eat a burger, we were taken with the sophistication of the place! Between the 11 of us, we saw most all the menu right there on our table; each one more beautiful than the last and all reportedly delicious. The restaurant is masculinity + lovely. The neat as a pin restroom is not to be missed.

What a wonderful experience this was. The atmosphere in the restaurant is fantastic and the presentation of the food is a real surprise. The burgers are fantastic and the fries with a generous layer of Parmesan cheese were perfect. Everything was served stylishly on black platters, which gives the whole experience a very luxurious look. The dessert was also a hit. I will definitely be back here soon.

We arrived for our 12:30 reservation, and were sat at a table almost immediately. The restaurant wasn't busy and it was a nice ambience. Unfortunately, the lack of staff and poor service really let down our experience from there. We waited 25 minutes for our waitress to come and take our drinks orders, and it would have been longer had we not managed to catch someone's attention and asked to order. The only waitress on seemed to deliver food and then run back to the kitchen, and then there was someone who I assume was the manager just stood at the bar. The table next to us had to send back their order twice, and neither time was met with any apology. The table on the other side was sat before us and were still waiting to order by the time we had finished our meal. When we finally managed to order drinks, they were then sat at the bar for a further 15 minutes just ignored, only for my drink to come and my husband's to still be missing. The food arrived and it was really nice, but it was quite overpriced for what it was. Both tables either side of us had to also argue and prove that they had paid a deposit or they would need to pay it again. Food is one part of a restaurant experience but we think service can make or break it, unfortunately, this was one place that was let down massively by the poor service. I'd recommend skipping The Burger Room and going to the amazing Blushing next door.

My son and I stopped into the burger room in the late afternoon, and there were only three or four tables occupied. I politely asked if we could sit in one of the booths, as every booth was empty. The older dark haired waitress immediately replied, “No,” in a very abrupt tone and seated us at a regular table without any explanation. If the booths had been reserved, I would have completely understood. However, throughout our entire meal, all but one booth remained empty -even when we left. The food itself was good, but unfortunately the service completely overshadowed the experience. The waitress’s attitude and tone made us feel unwelcome, and it honestly left us wishing we had chosen to dine somewhere else.

Visited the burger room twice in March while visiting Amsterdam and all I can say is WOW! I have to say I highly recommend the "if I only had a nerve" burger 10/10

Overall satisfying place. Meat in burger is well cooked, and mac-and cheese, Greeeat. Recommend to drop by for a meal before touring Amsterdam, preferably for brunch

Very confused space - they couldn't decide whether the decor should be "Wizard of Oz" themed or "Wicked" themed, so settled on a strange mix of the two. Mediocre burgers. Staff seemed to struggle with the ordering system and allergy requests. Won't go again.

The burgers are good but the prices are ridiculous. €9 for fries with ketchup. €4 EXTRA to switch to a soy patty. It’s near the museums so good location but know what you’re getting into.

Simple burgers and fries, not really very tasty. High prices and very unpleasant and impatient staff. The person who made the reservation apparently had to transfer €40 in advance, I heard later. In hindsight, it would have been better if I had made the reservation; then I would have politely declined and reserved somewhere else. I don't understand why people pay for a reservation… Go somewhere else, people.

Excellent burger restaurant with a lovely atmosphere near the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. For years, they've offered top-notch service and consistently high-quality food. The Wagyu tasting is highly recommended: a selection of three small, different burgers. It's delicious and immediately gives you a taste of the quality and variety of their dishes. They also have a fine wine list and a selection of beers. I always enjoy going there when I'm in Amsterdam.

We came in for a last minute lunch, so had no expectations. But we really enjoyed ourselves. We split the wicked witch burger (if you love pad Thai, try this; with peanut sauce and bean sprouts) and a baked sweet potato, which was perfect! A clean and comfortable atmosphere as well. Enjoy!

A lovely spot with an original burger concept. We tried the wagyu ones — the meat is incredibly tender and the brioche bun perfectly light. The service is efficient and warm. A great find.

It was quite calm when my friend and I came in at 4:30 pm, one of the servers told us that usually it's packed by then so we we're very lucky. The noise therefore was non-consistent. It only started to get a bit busier around 18 pm when a large group arrived. The atmosphere was beautiful, they have a beautiful ceiling mural where sadly the smoke detector is off center 😅. The atmosohere is amazing, everything is Wizard of Oz themed which is a fun little touch. The burger was absolutely amazing! My friend enjoyed it and I absolutely loved it. The bun tasted fine, just a gluten free bun. The service was really fast, we got both our burgers ca. 10 minutes after ordering (probably because it was so quiet, but still). We also had a fries at the side with mayo and they charged us €1.50 extra for the mayo. I would definitely recommend this place and will come here again.

Everything is wizard of oz! Even the bathroom it is absolutely amazing and feel like a museum

we went to the van Gogh museum and were hungry. we had no idea the Burger bar was wizard of Oz themed. we love the drinks. their basic drinks. they don't deviate much from the menu but they don't really need to cuz the food is epic. we skip dessert cuz we already had dessert plans somewhere else, here at the fries cuz the burgers were huge! we entirely recommend this place. they also have onion rings that well. we didn't try them. we saw them at another table and they looked phenomenal. don't shy away from the peanut sauce burger. the scarecrow is your basic burger with cheddar and bacon. you don't have to have bacon in it if you don't want and you can add a fried egg, sour pickles and other options. 10/10 recommend.

Top marks from me — and I'm genuinely picky when it comes to burgers. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated, with a really inviting atmosphere. The staff are friendly and attentive throughout. We had reserved a table for three. There is a €10-per-person deposit required at the time of booking, which is a bit unusual, but it's simply credited toward your bill at the end of the meal — so no actual extra cost. For the food, we ordered burgers, a blooming onion, fries, and a selection of sauces. After a short wait, everything arrived and it was simply perfect: the ingredients were fresh, the flavors well balanced, and every bite was a pleasure. This place is firmly saved in my favorites — I'll definitely be back.

We arrived without a reservation over the long weekend and were lucky; we were initially given three seats at the bar, and when a table became available, we were allowed to move. The ambiance perfectly reflects the Wicket theme, with a focus on the film starring Judy Garland. Everything was beautifully done. The staff were consistently friendly and helpful without being intrusive. The food was good, and the dishes, as the names suggest, also fit the Wicket culinary theme. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

Wasn’t sure what to expect from a themed restaurant, this place isn’t tacky at all though. Staff are lovely, vibe is great, tastefully decorated with Wizard of Oz stuff including some amazing spinning red shoes in the bathroom. Their basic burger was delicious! I had the gluten free bun and it was fantastic.

If you're looking for a good burger, this is the place to go. For €150, you can even get a gold-plated burger. Great atmosphere, and the restroom is labeled "Little Museum" on the sign. Check it out! Friendly staff, drink prices are reasonable, and the burgers are a bit pricey for the quality, but worth it.

We really enjoyed our visit! The Wizard of Oz theme gave the restaurant such a nice atmosphere and made the whole experience feel unique and cozy. We made a reservation for the afternoon, but it probably wasn’t necessary at that time — although I can imagine it can get busy in the evening. One small thing: it would have been even more fun if the music matched the Oz/Wicked theme too, but that’s just a minor detail. We ordered the Scarecrow and Munchkin burgers with truffle fries and pulled pork fries. Everything was very tasty, and I especially loved the Munchkin burger option because you can try 3 different burgers at the same time. We didn’t try the cocktails, but the selection looked really good. Our waitress (I think her name was Abigele) was very nice and attentive. We’re looking forward to coming back and would definitely recommend this place!

You absolutely must order the truffle sauce foie gras and Wagyu beef burger! I beg you, this is food bestowed upon us by the Creator.

🍔 Every stoner’s wet dream burger — the Cyclone with Wagyu patty. So damn good it keeps punching you with meat, combo after combo, no time to breathe. Wagyu + foie gras + truffle mayo = absolute knockout. Best burger I’ve ever had, hands down. Right across from the Van Gogh Museum, walking distance from the station — perfect stop if you’re doing the museum route. The Wizard of Oz themed menu is a really fun touch, and even the bathroom design is on point. You can tell they care about every detail.

The food arrived very quickly and it was great. They have very many food options to choose from and their special sauce is great. Great place to have a more premium lunch or take someone on a date :)

Best burger in Amsterdam in a very welcoming armosphere! Great value for money!

Nice atmosphere, good food. But when they hire a waiter, they should teach him somethings about serving. He didn't know what a sauce was that we asked for. He also didn't know what a spice was that was on the menu. Also, he was very unhappy being there. No smile, no welcome, and no check up during the meal to see if things are going with our expectations and how the food is. Overal, they should not work here if they are unhappy.

The restaurant has a cool vibe, with stylish décor and friendly staff that make a strong first impression. I especially enjoyed the Wizard of Oz theme—everything from the wall posters and red slippers to the creatively named menu, where you can choose between “good witch” and “bad witch” cocktails. The burger room really leans into the theme and is easily the most memorable part of the place. Unfortunately, that’s where the experience peaks. The food was just okay—not terrible, but nothing special, and I’ve honestly had better from McDonald’s. It feels like they’re trying hard not to be seen as just a burger spot, yet burgers are all they really offer. I’d suggest either expanding the menu or focusing on making their burgers genuinely stand out—and toning down the pretension a bit. Overall, I would comeback but only for a cocktail.

We stumbled upon this place by chance, as it was near our hotel. We were absolutely charmed. The decor, the Wizard of Oz theme, is superb. The burgers were delicious; the desserts too. The staff is incredibly kind and friendly. Highly recommended!

Simply amazing! If you love burgers, you must visit The Burger Room in Amsterdam. The staff is super sweet and helpful and the burgers are superb! You can also enjoy the burgers on the most tasty gluten-free bun I ever had. The location is great and the atmosphere is lovely. We'll definitely come back!

We had an excellent meal at this restaurant. It's not cheap (though compared to the rest of Amsterdam, it's about average!), but the portions are very generous, which more than makes up for the price. The burgers were excellent and flavorful, with a wide selection of sides. The setting is magnificent; the decor, thought out down to the smallest detail, is splendid. The welcome was warm, the service very pleasant and friendly from beginning to end. A French waiter was a bonus (always a nice touch!).

This is a great place for a quick lunch after visiting the Van Gogh Museum. The interior and menu are inspired by the Alice in Wonderland movie. I especially recommend visiting the restroom. The burgers are pricey, but they were delicious.

Very nice place, they found us a table even though we were a group of eight and hadn't booked. The sandwiches were really excellent, with high-quality ingredients and meat, and the service was also good. We were very satisfied.

25% forced tips. That's what we were tricked to almost paid at the end. The waitress gave us the recipe of the original price and add the tips on the POS machine, hoping we will pay without checking. What a sneaky move ! And apparently we are not the only victims of forced tipping. Watch out futur customers!

PSA - CHECK YOUR RECEIPT BEFORE PAYING. Our waitress added a 25% tip to our bill with zero disclosure. Luckily we checked before paying and had to get the manager involved to remove the tip because the waitress flat out refused to do so. Absolutely shocking behavior and we have never encountered anything so brazen in our trip so far across other European countries. The food was great but the customer service left much to be desired. Leaving this review as I am concerned that this malicious conduct by the service staff is not an isolated incident. Edit: we noticed plenty of reviews mentioning that this restaurant charges a 15% service fee without any disclosure a that it is not a mandatory fee. We will be mentioning this on top of our experience and raising a formal complaint with the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM). We do not think the restaurant's conduct is entirely lawful.

Nothing's bad, but everything is way, way overpriced. Coke is €4.50, fries are €7.50. Sauce is an extra €1.50, and if you want to change the burger's sauce, it's another €1.50... Two burgers with fries cost €60, for really basic burgers... Avoid this place!!

Really Delicious burgers, nice designs and concept

Very atmospheric café — even the restroom is decorated in an Alice in Wonderland style. The main hall is gorgeous. But the burgers are drowned in sauce, so the bun gets soggy and the burger falls apart. The milkshakes are so overly sweet that even my sweet-toothed kids said they couldn’t finish them — just too sugary. With such a luxurious interior, there’s still room to improve the food and drinks.

We popped in for a drink before going to a museum just by chance and ended up booking to come back for food a few hours later. What an incredible place, drinks are amazing, food was delicious and service was first class. Would highly recommend!

The welcome was very warm, with a real focus on customer satisfaction! We are French, and one of the servers was too, which made communication easier, even though we spoke a little English—it's always a pleasure. The meal was simply excellent! The restaurant is beautiful and incredibly clean. We will definitely return when we come back to this wonderful country.

We paid €80 for two hamburgers, and I expect much more from a €40 hamburger; I've had better for half the price, not to mention the final rip-off where they try to force a surcharge onto your bill. Luckily, we realized the scam, and they lowered the bill to its real price.
