The Burger Room in Museumkwartier

Simply amazing! If you love burgers, you must visit The Burger Room in Amsterdam. The staff is super sweet and helpful and the burgers are superb! You can also enjoy the burgers on the most tasty gluten-free bun I ever had. The location is great and the atmosphere is lovely. We'll definitely come back!

This is a great place for a quick lunch after visiting the Van Gogh Museum. The interior and menu are inspired by the Alice in Wonderland movie. I especially recommend visiting the restroom. The burgers are pricey, but they were delicious.

We had an excellent meal at this restaurant. It's not cheap (though compared to the rest of Amsterdam, it's about average!), but the portions are very generous, which more than makes up for the price. The burgers were excellent and flavorful, with a wide selection of sides. The setting is magnificent; the decor, thought out down to the smallest detail, is splendid. The welcome was warm, the service very pleasant and friendly from beginning to end. A French waiter was a bonus (always a nice touch!).

They have gluten free burgers. I have tried two from the menu and they were really delicious. 😍 Also, the staff was so polite and helpful.

Very nice place, they found us a table even though we were a group of eight and hadn't booked. The sandwiches were really excellent, with high-quality ingredients and meat, and the service was also good. We were very satisfied.

25% forced tips. That's what we were tricked to almost paid at the end. The waitress gave us the recipe of the original price and add the tips on the POS machine, hoping we will pay without checking. What a sneaky move ! And apparently we are not the only victims of forced tipping. Watch out futur customers!

PSA - CHECK YOUR RECEIPT BEFORE PAYING. Our waitress added a 25% tip to our bill with zero disclosure. Luckily we checked before paying and had to get the manager involved to remove the tip because the waitress flat out refused to do so. Absolutely shocking behavior and we have never encountered anything so brazen in our trip so far across other European countries. The food was great but the customer service left much to be desired. Leaving this review as I am concerned that this malicious conduct by the service staff is not an isolated incident. Edit: we noticed plenty of reviews mentioning that this restaurant charges a 15% service fee without any disclosure a that it is not a mandatory fee. We will be mentioning this on top of our experience and raising a formal complaint with the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM). We do not think the restaurant's conduct is entirely lawful.

Nothing's bad, but everything is way, way overpriced. Coke is €4.50, fries are €7.50. Sauce is an extra €1.50, and if you want to change the burger's sauce, it's another €1.50... Two burgers with fries cost €60, for really basic burgers... Avoid this place!!

Very friendly and helpful staff member (Catharina), including the recommendation for a smaller portion of Scarecrow so there was room for dessert. Delicious Mr. Yoop cocktail! The price/quality ratio was excellent. We will definitely be back.

Really Delicious burgers, nice designs and concept

Very atmospheric café — even the restroom is decorated in an Alice in Wonderland style. The main hall is gorgeous. But the burgers are drowned in sauce, so the bun gets soggy and the burger falls apart. The milkshakes are so overly sweet that even my sweet-toothed kids said they couldn’t finish them — just too sugary. With such a luxurious interior, there’s still room to improve the food and drinks.

We popped in for a drink before going to a museum just by chance and ended up booking to come back for food a few hours later. What an incredible place, drinks are amazing, food was delicious and service was first class. Would highly recommend!

The welcome was very warm, with a real focus on customer satisfaction! We are French, and one of the servers was too, which made communication easier, even though we spoke a little English—it's always a pleasure. The meal was simply excellent! The restaurant is beautiful and incredibly clean. We will definitely return when we come back to this wonderful country.

We paid €80 for two hamburgers, and I expect much more from a €40 hamburger; I've had better for half the price, not to mention the final rip-off where they try to force a surcharge onto your bill. Luckily, we realized the scam, and they lowered the bill to its real price.

Delicious food, the burgers are amazing. The service from one of the waiters is excellent, very warm and friendly. The prices are a bit high, but that's to be expected given the location, approximately €30 per person. Plus, the place is really beautiful.

This place is amazing! It has been a a while since I had a burger that blew my mind! Geniuses! We were welcomed very warmly and got seated in a very cozy but elegant room, next to the windows. Our waiter and waitress was very attentive and so very polite, lovely conversations. We ordered some house cocktails and they were so very delicious I want the recipes. I suggest everyone should try the cocktail Mr. Yoop. And the burgers, oh the burgers! It is obvious they were trying something new an what a success! I had the burger with blue cheese and peppercorn sauce, it was so delicious it prompted me to write this review! Absolutely amazing, I wholeheartedly suggest to everyone to come to The Burger Room!

After visiting the museum, we wanted to eat at this restaurant, but they wouldn't let us in because I had my two-year-old son with me. The waiter rudely told us that children weren't allowed. It's a shame that they discriminate like this!

If you're looking for a good burger anywhere in the Netherlands, this is the place to be, and even worth the trip. Amsterdam doesn't have many notable attractions, but it does have the best burger restaurant in the whole of the Netherlands!

The quality of food is good . The atmosphere is good the hostess was rude I wanted the empty window seats the tables could be separated easily she refused to sit us . Do I recommend the place . No the burger is just ordinary fries is just like the street fries and the onion rings are greasy .

My whole family loved their burgers, and my chicken sandwich was delicious. The fries with pulled pork were so good—very smokey but not over-powering. The sweet potato fries were great too. Good, comfortable atmosphere and good service across the street from the Van Gogh Museum.

The food was good and served quickly. The service wasn't great. Upon arrival, we were told they needed our table within an hour, but after an hour, the restaurant was still three-quarters empty.

The service was absolutely terrible! 👎 The burgers were delicious and very large. The downsides were the staff's arrogant attitude and poor service. They were indifferent and the prices weren't cheap. And then they charged a mandatory 15% service fee for this kind of service. It's really not worth the price. Think twice before you go!

They probably thought we were just tourists and that even if we were unhappy, it was only a one-time visit.

My girlfriend had her birthday and surprised me with a reservation. I was well taken care of and was also offered a free dessert from Gordon and received lots of attention and friendly staff. I would definitely recommend it.

Perfection! Deliciously tender Angus burgers between delicious broiche. Every bite was a delight. I can't wait to go back. I had it for dinner this time; I thought it was quite a lot for lunch, as I'm not a big eater. Recommended with the Oz rings (union rings) or the sweet potato fries.

Very friendly staff, attentive and quick, excellent service. The burgers were delicious, the fries crisp and not too salty, just right. The dessert (we had tarte tatin) we very good, though we wondered about the sugar coated apple (we’d have preferred more of the excellent tarte tatin). We will be back next time!

Outstanding Location. If you like Burgers and are willing to spend a little more (not out of proportion) this is the place to go. Their biggest burger (forgot the name but they literally write that in the menu) is really good and there is no chance you can eat that thing with your hands without taking a full shower afterwards :) The location is really nice as well. Everything is designed like a high end burger place, but the food and service was mid at best. The prices are very expensive but are mainly based on the meat type being used and not the burger quality itself. Furthermore, fries have to be ordered separately for 8€ and it was only a small bowl with sour cream, which did taste like pure butter. The worst thing was a service fee of 15% placed on top of the bill for a service which was neither friendly not helpful. It was not clearly highlighted whether this fee is obligatory or not, but it does not represent the quality of the service. I would not recommend this place.

I recently visited this bar - a nice tourist place with a very beautiful cartoon-style interior. The atmosphere is nice, the staff is really very polite and friendly - this is a big plus. But the food itself, unfortunately, did not impress: the burgers were ordinary, a little dry, without much taste or sauces. The cocktails are tasty, but not so much that you want to come back again. Overall - a good place to go once for the atmosphere, but not for the cuisine.

We dropped in completely unplanned, looking for something to eat in 30 minutes at lunchtime, and what a find! It was such a shame we couldn't stay longer. The best burger I've ever had, personally. It was excellent, the setting was fantastic, and the atmosphere was great too. A huge thank you to the French waiter for his warm welcome; he was wonderful. The food was amazing, and we'll definitely be back, but this time to take our time and savor every bite.

Beautiful place, with splendid decor! One waitress was pleasant, the other less so, but not unpleasant either. I must admit we were a little disappointed with the burgers… We ordered a #1 burger with beef, cheddar, etc. (7/10), an avocado and salmon burger (6.5/10), another burger (8/10), and onion rings (9/10).

Tasty food, lovely service and a wonderful atmosphere especially if you’re a fan of the wizard of Oz! A lot of vegetarian/ vegan options, but the only thing that bothered me was the fact that you pay extra for vegan patty 🫠 It’s just 4€ but still I can’t make sense of it.. I care about animals I’m sorry I guess 😂 But don’t let that overshadow everything else

Burgers and salads. Basically, everything was OK, but the prices were moderate. One star deducted for the unnecessary 15% service charge, which was added without asking, but whose voluntary nature was explained with a delay. Not a good practice, one that's already somewhat familiar in Canada and the US, but not otherwise common in the Netherlands.

Place is a scam, went with my mum and we were immediately met with a frown from the server, she then proceeded to seat us in the very back corner of the restaurant next to the bathroom, when she took our order she seemed mad about the fact we wanted food. She didn’t check on us once without us having to physically get up to get their attention Waters a scam, sauce is a scam, 15% tip that was absolutely not deserved by the service we were given. Just to be clear there were plenty of other unreserved tables they could’ve seated us at. Wouldn’t recommend place is a cash grab.

We were just looking for a place to eat before going to the van gogh museum and we casually found this gem: the place is really unique and beutiful. Our server was a very funny girl that really made us laugh trough all the lunch, and she was also very nice! The food was just incredible honestly, definetly the BEST we had in Amsterdam. The gordon's all time favorite was my personal best choice, but also the shakshuka was veery tasty. I don't think there's any lack so basically it was all perfect!

My husband and I had lunch here on two days, as we were in the area to visit the museums. The place is very beautiful and well-kept, including the bathrooms, and has a "Wizard of Oz" theme. Even the menu is constantly reminiscent of history. The space overlooking the internal garden is very relaxing. The burgers are truly exceptional, original, and generous portions: we tried the Scarecrow and Cyclone on the first day, and the Munchkins and All Day Breakfast on the second. Highly recommended! The fried sides are hot and crispy, with accompanying sauces. The desserts are generous and tasty (we tried the Tin Man's Treat). They also offer sophisticated and unusual cocktails (which we didn't try). For burger lovers, this is a must-visit!

This my second time here and it’s just as fabulous as the first time back in 2019! The staff is friendly, attentive and kind. It’s also clean and the burgers are outstanding! Best meal and right across from the Van Gogh Museum!

Finally found the perfect burger (Black Agnus)—delicious! I don't think you'd even know if the service was having a bad day; they were very friendly. One point: I would also recommend offering a wine at a reasonable price.

Burger taste very good. Service is perfect and quickly. We ordered and take it away for hotel room dinner.they pack it very well. A little suggestion: maybe remove the tendon first then ground and grill the meat could make a really perfect one.
