Update: there are still some nice and friendly staff members, but the quality of the food and the vegan options have gone down. Previous: Great hotel and restaurant. The staff is amazing and they always have vegan options on the menu or ad hoc. Fabulous wine list and cocktails too. My favourite hang out spot in Amsterdam. PS: superb terrace!

Classy looking restaurant and bar in the lobby of Hotel V Fizeaustraat. Beautiful retro chic interior design with a lovely outdoor terrace area. Food was hotel standard and service hit and miss, but the atmosphere ideal for a slow and relaxing meal or leisurely drinks with friends.

Nice cozy quiet place with friendly service and delicious food

My wife and I enjoyed dinner at the Lobby. We both ordered the 4-course menu plus some additional oysters. Apart from the oysters we had a different option for each course. Everything was really nice - we tasted each other's dishes as well - and beautifully served. The service was friendly, professional and attentive. The menu is small, but with a good variety of choices. The restaurant has a cosy atmosphere and each table has sufficient "personal space". There are tables for 2, 3(!), 4 and larger groups. All in all a very nice experience and we will certainly return.

Very limited service. Bar and restaurant closed or no kitchen service on Sunday night and Monday morning before 12. We had to go somewhere else for breakfast.

We visited The Lobby in Amsterdam as a family and had an absolutely fantastic evening! The atmosphere was warm, elegant, and very welcoming — perfect for both adults and kids. The food was simply outstanding, beautifully prepared, and full of flavor. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure we felt comfortable at all times. After dinner, we enjoyed some amazing cocktails and mocktails, which was the perfect way to end the night. A wonderful place for families who appreciate great food and a relaxed yet stylish vibe!

We had a delicious main course (cod dish) and the service was excellent. But 12 euros for a very sparingly poured glass of white wine is absurd.

The staff is okay, some reasonably friendly. The appetizers have a single price, not expensive, but also tiny. I paid 90 euros for a Côte de Boeuf, which was very fatty. The meat was otherwise tasty, but pricey. The wine list was extensive, expensive, and what we chose wasn't available. The ambiance was good. All in all: reasonable.

This is a must-go place; I had a party in the restaurant. The food is so incredibly delicious, the wine list is mouthwatering, but above all, the kitchen and service staff are so incredibly sweet and attentive that you'd want to hug them!

The food was delicious! The tartare appetizer was way too small, just a tablespoon. Everything tasted really good. It was difficult to make eye contact with the staff.

Last Thursday, January 22nd, I was with a group of six for lunch. The tables were already set and beautifully decorated. There's something for everyone on the lunch menu. The burrata, burgers, and Flammkuchen bacon are delicious. The drinks were also delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed the dishes. We dined here with the same group on September 30th, 2025, which was also a wonderfully enjoyable and delicious experience. The dinner menu offers beautiful combinations, and the dishes are masterfully prepared, providing an ultimate taste experience and beautiful presentation. Each dish comes with helpful wine suggestions, which is helpful if you're not very knowledgeable about wine, like me. The veal cheek, market fish, and (for dessert) the chocolate ganache cake are highly recommended. The wait staff is very friendly and attentive. They make time for questions, which is nice. This has also been my experience, having been here several times. The location is within walking distance of Amstel Station, which is very convenient. It's also very easy to do by car, as there's parking underneath the hotel. Yes, I'll definitely be back. It's highly recommended, especially considering the atmosphere, the friendly atmosphere, the beautiful, delicious dishes, and the excellent, very friendly, and attentive service.

Fantastic! Don't expect anything fancy, but honest portions and excellent value for money, and the wine list is certainly the same, but that's common knowledge among wine lovers. And all in a good atmosphere. Not too fancy, but just right. And you can still hear each other well, which can sometimes be a problem in Adam's restaurant. The five of us ordered four bottles of top wines and each the four-course menu. We were all very satisfied.

Food okay but not sufficiently attenuated staff

Surprisingly good for a somewhat business-like environment. The service is also personal and attentive.

We came for lunch but left empty-handed. No one approached us, and when we finally found someone, we felt completely unwelcome. An English-speaking woman told us we could choose a table. After waiting ten minutes, no one had come to our table. Apparently, our intuition was correct, and we were unwelcome.

Enjoyed a simple lunch. Good quality. The only difference was that there wasn't a choice of brown bread. Service was also excellent. The temperature inside is a bit low.

Had lunch here on Sunday afternoon. Disappointment. It was cold, but that seemed beyond repair due to the central heating. The food was also half-cold. When we complained, no compensation was offered. The service was completely inattentive and disinterested. For example, they never came to ask if everything was to our liking or if we wanted to order anything else. A wine glass with a large sip left in it was taken away without asking. That sort of thing. Not recommended.

We were a group of six and had a wonderful lunch here. The service was exceptionally attentive, the food fresh and creative, and the atmosphere ideal for catching up with old friends and colleagues. The music was at a comfortable level, the lighting pleasantly cosy, and the tables well spaced - quite rare in Amsterdam these days! Overall, a fantastic experience and definitely my new go-to spot for future gatherings.

What a beautiful café with such an eye for detail! The decor was light, fresh, and contemporary. The coffee was excellent and came with a small cookie—a nice touch. I also ordered a quiche, and it was deliciously warm and fresh. The service was friendly and genuinely interested. There was a cozy atmosphere, with customers clearly enjoying themselves. The Lobby is Hotel V's restaurant and is highly recommended. The food is excellent and carefully prepared, although I think the portions could have been a bit larger. A very nice setting. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to try the restaurant itself... but I did try the appetizers. The veggie burger was delicious and more than enough. The fries were also good, though all a bit greasy. Breakfast was perfect! Plenty of choice, even for veggies. After the performance at AFAS Live, I ordered a glass of wine (Chardonnay) to enjoy in my room...€12!!!!!! This is really excessive and outrageous! I've been to Michelin-starred restaurants where it was cheaper... without the appetizer or amuse-bouche... these prices are a real shame. It wasn't particularly tasty either, just an average Chardonnay. I would also like to see a bit more attention to hygiene. At breakfast, one gentleman was okay (preparing food with gloves), the other wasn't! And there's a very clever meat machine in the room with at least 1 cm of dust on it... Could be much better!

In the early years, I was a frequent visitor to The Lobby Fizeaustraat. In two years, I've been there at least 70 times, for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The food is always consistently good, the service exceptionally friendly, and the atmosphere is pleasant and informal. The food is carefully prepared with quality ingredients and is full of flavor. I gave it 4 stars, but I'd like to give it 4.5 stars. As for me and my group of 14, October 24th, 2025: highly recommended ❣️

Beautiful and warm interior, kind and attentive service and the best cocktail in Amsterdam called Ghost cocktail.

The sommelier was truly fantastic, as always, engaged and helpful, and very friendly, as were the male waitstaff. The female waitstaff didn't engage with us. There was no genuine friendliness or attention. We only received the drinks menu from her. I went to get the menu myself, but it never arrived. The sommelier apologized for this. She was walking around with a cappuccino in her hand and wasn't paying attention to what was happening in the restaurant. That was the only downside to the afternoon. Since we both work in hospitality, this was immediately noticeable. Otherwise, we enjoyed ourselves. I often come to lunch with you, and I'm always happy and very satisfied, so this immediately caught my attention. Perhaps she was having an off day. That's possible! We're all human, after all. However, since you also ask for feedback, I wanted to give an honest review. Overall, I'm always very happy and satisfied. A fantastic place to be.

Delicious lunch. We chose the two-course menu: ceviche and sole fillet. It was fresh, light, and delicious. Very friendly service and a cozy, relaxed atmosphere.

Excellent location, right off the A10. Plenty of space, relaxed atmosphere. A bottle of tap water and glasses were brought to the table immediately, and the food was served promptly. Portions were a good size, though a bit small for those hungry, but the flavors were delicious. The waiter on the terrace wasn't very welcoming and repeatedly asserted, in a rather presumptuous manner, that drinking on the terrace was mandatory because one of us only drank water. This could have been done in a more friendly and professional manner, and it affected the overall atmosphere.

For us, the Lobby remains a winner. The location is perfect, and the parking underneath the hotel is a huge plus. We've been coming here since the very beginning and are so pleased that this restaurant remains a top-notch restaurant. The service is largely consistent, which creates a pleasant interaction when you see each other again. The food here is excellent, from breakfast to lunch and dinner, and also for drinks. RECOMMENDED!

This place has a really pleasant atmosphere with a beautifully designed interior. It’s perfect for relaxing or getting some work done on your laptop. The staff are friendly and welcoming. A cozy bar/café that I definitely recommend!

Nice terrace, nice wine and good food. I ate there with a friend we found the food great or just good apart from the dessert that was too sweet. Unfortunately not all dishes are on the same level. The service was nice and the wine advice is good.

We found the lamb tartare as a starter really too small. As a main course we chose the fish (harder). Well, a too simple plate without TLC for our taste. Too bad, because we previously found this restaurant an 8. Now we could not get further than a 7-. The service on the other hand is top. Good wine advice and heart for the business.

Delicious food, the eggplant is highly recommended! Friendly staff, sometimes you have to wait a while before you are seen. Nice interior, pleasant atmosphere. Handy that you can park your car under the building and also by public transport (Amstel station is a 10-minute walk away). A good addition for me would be; champagne coupes, so you don't get to drink it from a wine glass.

What great quality they have together here, I always come away happy. The kitchen is creative and elegant, service is smooth and correct. And the wine list…really incredible for a relatively small restaurant in a hotel. We took a Frankenwein from Germany, never heard of it but very expressive and excellent with the catfish on the plate. Until next time!

Perfect for a business lunch and/or a good glass of wine.

We were visiting Amsterdam for a few days and I was looking for a dining experience! Researching I found the Lobby! We had the 4 course tasting menu it was wonderful. Service was amazing. We didn’t want to do the wine pairing but the sommelier suggested to split our one glass of wine into two half glasses so it accompanied the plates better! Highly recommend friendly staff great atmosphere and wonderful food!

Kinda don’t want to leave a review because this is my best kept secret in Amsterdam. Great food, relaxed service, in a warm atmosphere that makes you feel special and yet is un-fussy at the same time! Oh and the cocktails are some of the best I’ve ever had. I have been coming to the Lobby for many years, always to my satisfaction, but last night I was very disappointed. I ordered the starter Procureur as a main course but found the quantity far below par. a piece of meat no bigger than 4 cubes. In addition, I certainly did not find the taste special. Moreover, it is a pity that you even have to order and pay for a little bit of fries and salad. I paid a total of €190 and found this quite expensive. In addition, I could still pay €16 at the parking meter when leaving. However, the service was excellent and very friendly as always. But in short; disappointing this time.

Second time I ate here and was very good. Very relaxed but also good service. Sommelier came up with good suggestions and gave advice and space. You sit comfortably because of the bucket-like seats. The light is pleasantly muted and even though it was packed, it didn't feel crowded. Food was very good, only dessert was disappointing. Too sweet panna cotta and too sweet ice cream, but that was really the only criticism. The entrance with mackerel and yoghurt-like sauce was subtle and so was the surprisingly crispy topinambur (Jerusalem artichoke). The veal cheek was absolutely brilliant. Buttery soft with beautiful sauce! Top!

We found this gem on the Valentine's Day in the last minute and we had a wonderful dinner, excellent food and wine and the service that made it even better. A special thanks to the polish cheerful guy. We will be back!

Very nice place for drinks and dinner. From the outside it looks a bit atmospheric, but inside it is very atmospheric and "vibrant". The food tastes very good and the service is super friendly. It's just a pity that we both came home with food poisoning. I think the raw mackerel was no longer good. We paid 264 euros for the 2 of us. Before that we had a 5-course Valentine's menu for 59 euros pp + 10 euros a supplement pp + 18 euros pp for a bob wine pairing. Plus some drinks and a snack at the bar.

Once again a delicious meal! Pleasant and professional. The tables are not right next to each other and yet it feels cozy and intimate. I'll definitely be back.
