Was only there for to go coffee but love the atmosphere inside and the yummy cappuccino! Staff is super friendly and would definitely recommend people to come :)

The coffee is good, but the food was absolutely awful. Five staff members pay absolutely no attention to anyone who walks in or out. I almost made my own sandwich. Ridiculous and utterly amateurish.

This is definitely not a laptop-friendly café! If you google “laptop friendly cafés Haarlem”, this place comes up right away. And at first glance, it might seem that way: there are tables with power sockets and people working on laptops. However, their laptop policy is known only to them, and it keeps changing. 1. I come here quite often, and I still can’t figure out their policy. Sometimes it’s fine to sit with a laptop, sometimes I’m asked not to. Sometimes people are allowed to sit anywhere, sometimes only in the back room. Once I was told that on Sundays laptops are allowed only at the big table — and that’s totally fine! Just write down the rules clearly, like many other cafés do. For example, here’s an example what the other places do: . – The tables where you can use a laptop are clearly marked, so you know you’re not breaking any rule. – There’s a visible sign saying that laptops aren’t allowed in certain rooms or at specific times — and that’s absolutely OK! 2. If you sit with a laptop for more than an hour, you’ll start getting constant “Would you like something else?” “Anything else?” from different waiters every 10–15 minutes. Just be clear and say “We are laptop-friendly place” — everyone will understand. It just feels extremely annoying and unwelcoming, as if I’m being pushed out. 3. Ironically, when you actually want to order or pay, it can take 30–60 minutes before anyone notices you. 4. You are practically forced to leave a tip. As others have already mentioned — this is not America. 5. The music is extremely loud. It’s impossible to have a conversation with my husband on weekends because we simply can’t hear each other. And joining a work call? Completely out of the question. If the music isn’t blasting, the staff themselves fill the café with loud chatter instead of paying attention to guests. When I first moved to Haarlem a few months ago, I was so happy to have such a nice-looking café right next to my home. But it seems they’ve just lost one frequent guest. By the way, the staff used to be much friendlier earlier this summer.
