The Social Hub Restaurant & Bar Amsterdam City in Weesperzijde

I visited Amsterdam last week and was staying at The Social Hub Amsterdam City. For convenience and convenience, I dined for the first time at the Ristorante Bar, where breakfast is served. The menu features only a few courses, but the food, from pizza to pasta and main courses, is all, as they say, FEW BUT GOOD; in fact, I'd venture to substitute "good" for "excellent." The atmosphere is youthful, with attentive, active, and friendly yet discreet dining room staff, as is the kitchen staff. I enjoyed everything so much that I returned for an aperitif and dinner, eating well, spending a fair amount, in a jazz club atmosphere.

Go to for after work drinky! Love it :)

Terrible attitude from one of the servers here. I was sat outside by Waiter A, and placed my order. But I quickly felt cold and went back inside and told Waiter A I’d prefer an indoor table instead. He showed me to my new table. My food took forever to come, which isn’t the problem. Waiter B came up to me and asked if I’m the one who ordered the brioche, and I told him yup that’s me. He then proceeded to be extremely passive aggressive and complained about how nobody could find me because I didn’t tell anyone I moved my table, so they didn’t know where to serve my food. I quickly told him that actually that’s not true, because I told Waiter A that I moved and he knew about it. Waiter B then proceeded to turn his back and said “nah it’s ok” in the most condescending tone, clearly not believing what I told him. To make matters worse, when he served the brioche to me, he made another condescending remark that they’ve already made my cup of coffee and had already served it outside, but I wasn’t there. This was AFTER I explained to him that I’ve told Waiter A where I moved. And when I try to explain again, he once again turned his back and said the most condescending “it’s ok you’re good” I’ve ever heard in a long time. His attitude problem is so out of hand. He’s effectively blaming me for his colleague’s fault, and continued to do so even after I’ve explained the situation to him. I wonder if he would do the same to a white man, I think perhaps not.

We stayed at the hotel. The setting and ambiance are modern. The rooms are very comfortable. A communal relaxation area is available. The hotel is located off-center but is still close to the center, a 35-minute walk, and offers a bike rental service (interesting, but you must book in advance for availability).

Went there just for dinner. Serves could have paid a little more attention but didn't do a bad job. The Smash Burger, however, was terrible. Nowhere near a smash burger. It's just a regular double patty burger. Nothing smash like about it im sorry.

From the moment I walked in, I was warmly welcomed by a beautiful, tall man with a smile as if I were an old friend coming home. He immediately created a wonderful atmosphere. Unbelievable! Hip, warm, open, and inspiring – you can just feel that wonderful encounters and good conversations are born here. 💬✨ And then the food… heavenly. 🌈 Every dish was a feast on my plate. Fresh, colorful, and prepared with love. From the surprising bites to the main courses – absolutely everything was perfect. The soup of the day was finger-licking good. Super delicious. What makes this restaurant truly unique? The combination of creativity, community, and quality. You'll notice there's more to life here than just food – it's a place where people gather, ideas flow, and you leave feeling inspired. So seriously: Go here for a bite to eat 🏃‍♀️💨 Whether you're here for lunch, coffee, a meeting, or dinner – The Social Hub is the place to be. And you can even linger. And you can even sleep. It's a fantastic hotel. 🙌 I'm super excited and will definitely be back. Tomorrow. And the day after. Highly recommended.

We enjoyed a lovely meal in the sun on the new, beautiful, and charming terrace. The staff was very friendly and gave us excellent advice. A great addition!

This is 16 euros? Seriously? Your bartender told me the price only after all the drinks were served. At that point, it was impossible to raise any complaint, because the drinks had already been prepared and served without any prior information about the cost. No one would reasonably expect such a high price, especially compared to your usual drink menu. This isn’t even a fancy bar — it’s just a student accommodation bar that also serves breakfast. The price was far above the typical range you offer. I didn’t argue, not because I agreed with it, but because it was already too late. Still, I believe other customers deserve to be informed. And honestly, who serves a Long Island Iced Tea in a wine glass? That’s just not how it’s done. I had already pointed this out to the bartender at the time, but he didn’t seem to know anything about cocktails.

I didn’t eat there. I just went for work and had coffee and an ice tea - super place for freelance work station.

I've been coming to this restaurant for years—usually 3 to 4 times a week—because it used to be a great spot to grab lunch or get a bit of work done. Sadly, things have really gone downhill lately. The menu has been completely overhauled, and unfortunately, all the old favorites are gone. Take the smash burger, for example—it used to be crispy, full of flavor, served with a delicious truffle sauce, and you could choose between fries, a salad, or no side at all. Now it's become a soggy burger with a basic sauce and default fries. The flexibility and quality just aren’t there anymore. Same goes for the Chicken burger, Chicken Gyros and other favorites that just disappeared without solid replacements.. The daily specials have also been scrapped. Taco Tuesday was an absolute highlight—super tasty and a nice way to keep things fresh for regulars. Without it, the menu feels much more limited and less appealing, especially if you visit often. Service has always been hit or miss here, but lately, the inconsistency has become even more noticeable. It really depends on who's working—sometimes you're helped quickly and everything runs smoothly, but other times you can wait 40 minutes or more for a simple order. Not ideal when you're on a lunch break or trying to fit things into a busy day. To top it off, I was recently asked to close my laptop while waiting for my food—apparently there's a new policy against working at the table. That’s a bit baffling, especially considering this restaurant is located at a co-working space, and I wasn’t bothering anyone. Meanwhile, a group of 90 people was allowed to eat buffet-style, creating quite a bit of noise. It's a policy that feels out of touch. The terrace has been renovated and looks nice, but be sure to bring your jacket—it gets windy, and without windbreakers, it’s not a comfortable place to sit, let alone work or relax. And the prices? They’ve gone up quite a bit, which might be understandable if the quality had stayed the same—but unfortunately, it hasn’t. All in all, this place has taken a real step backward. I truly hope they listen to their regulars and bring back some of the soul, quality, and flexibility that once made it a favorite. I am skipping it now for the following weeks/months unless something changes. The co-working space is less appealing now as well.

Had the Caesar salad. It did not disappoint. It could of had more dressing but then again I was having it to keep my calorie count down.

We’ve had a very bad experience at this restaurant. First of all, it took them 45 minutes to notice us and give us a menu. The bites were okay (fries, Camembert and chicken bites), the wine tasted cheap but is expensive. The main dinner dishes were just not good, the chicken burger was still raw and the pasta was not cooked long enough. The meat balls were very basic, just not enough to pay 16,50 euro’s for. We have sent the chicken burger back to receive a very dry chicken and bun (see pictures). The waitress said she was sorry, but didn’t offer us anything for the inconvenience. The staff was not at all interested in our experience. I would not recommend this place at all.

Great Caesar salad—plenty of chicken and cheese which made it perfect for a dinner. The Parmesan truffle fries were also wonderfully seasoned and there are rotating specials which make the menu fun and fresh each time. Also great pizza.

Had both lunch and dinner there. Very good vegetarian and vegan dishes.

Ended up ordering 2 drinks at the same time. Lots of staff but did not often come to the table to take orders. The line to even get in was also very slow.

Service was non existent. Neither cutlery nor napkins were brought. The price of the pizza was adjusted for inflation, but the size has shrunk.

39.- for 2 people at breakfast, payment possible only by card. You will find better elsewhere

This place is very good and I loved it too,especially the food taste was mind blowing everything you order it’s tasty and good ,it is the best to visit with family their accommodations are awesome I liked it I give 5 out 5 rating for this beautiful restaurant and the lights in the house are very attractive and colourful

Ordered a Falafel salad, loaded nachos and the daily special pizza. The pizza was good, the loaded nachos had a good balance of tangy, crunchy and gooey and tasted fresh. Falafel balls could have been better. Overall good food better than I had expected. Service was ok - a bit slow and was hoping the staff would offer details about the daily specials. Overall ambiance was fun.

Frozen cauliflower and we sat 1 hour to get anyone’s attention. Everyone ignored us so we left. Terrible place. Please improve your staff.

Warm beer, slow service, samalla portions

Nice staff and a perfect place to work while enjoying a beautiful view of the city (on the 13th floor). I was working here with my two colleagues for a day and the room was fully equipped (coffee, tea, water, fruit, a large screen) and well soundproofed. Recommended!

We had a business meeting in one of the beautiful coworking spaces on the 13th floor. Attentive service, well organized and a functional room with everything we needed and a gorgeous view over Amsterdam! We had a good lunch in the bar/restaurant. Quick service, nice setting and an enjoyable lunch. We particularly liked the pizza’s! The mortadella, n’duja and gialla (yellow tomato, stracciatella, anchovy) we’re all very tasty. All in all a very good experience!

Perfect experience all over. The atmosphere is very cool and inviting. The staff is friendly and professional. We had burguer with fries, and a small dessert. It was all delicious and with a reasonable price (at least for Amsterdam's standards). 10/10 will come back next time I visit Amsterdam.

I don't care who you are. Stay here. I woke up with 2hrs of sleep, accidentally made my checkin for the day before, and still got an early checkin. Amsterdam and the wonderful woman at the front saved a life today. I highly recommend the spot. My room is clean, and ready for me to sleep all day to recover from last night's escapades.

Very nice place, lively, spacious and a cheerful and very welcoming atmosphere starting from the kind and warm staff. I ate a really good and very filling portion of salmon pasta. Right value for money. I will return as often as I can, even for a day of studies at your highly recommended facility!!

I have visited this establishment a couple of times as my gym is nearby. Their food offering is pretty decent, they have a variety of dishes, both vegetarian and non vegetarian. Also, daily specials. There is a bar and a proper espresso machine. The service and attention from the staff could be much better. I have seen total disregard for customers when waiting to order or have their drinks replenished. I would understand if the place was busy, but usually it is not.

Lange wachttijd, 40 minuten dat, hoewel we 4 keer vroegen waar de bestelling was. Een terugmelding kan er jammer genoeg niet. (Het eten was geen kunst om te maken, alles koud behalve de kip). Wat wel vriendelijk was dat een glas wijn op de zaak ging. Wat het eten betreft, is okay maar ook weer niet geweldig.

A fine restaurant with reasonable prices. Service quality was lacking at dinner service but at breakfast and lunch I was served by Mischa. Mischa has a lovely attitude and is prompt, helpful.

We had both 2x breakfast and dinner here. And to be honest the experience was relatively the same. What we noticed on all occasions was the lack of attentiveness from staff. Don’t get me wrong, staff were not rude or dismissive it’s just they lacked empathy or motivation to go a little above or beyond. For example when we arrived for breakfast we were seated and we understood the system and didn’t need much from the staff. However me and few other customer had to ask staff on both occasions to replenish a few items as staff were not paying attention to the buffet. This ranged from coffee cups to clean teaspoons, to cheese and apple juice. Staff appeared to be busy getting ice to and from the kitchen to the bar. Breakfast was €12.50 walk-in price, I understood this would have been cheaper if you stayed at the hotel or booked in advance. Dinner was okay. Same situation with regards to service, very slow to be served, but once served food was good. They lost 2 stars, because of service and attentiveness in my eyes.

De bestelde gerechten van de kaart waren er niet. 1 artikel verscheen achteraf echter wel op de rekening. Ruim opgezet lokaal alleen vrij prijzig.

De menukaart geeft weinig tot geen toelichting over de ingrediënten in het gerecht. Als je iets niet kent is het dus gokken wat je krijgt. Via QR code bestellen en betalen, nog al onpersoonlijk. Je ziet geen personeel, behalve om het eten te serveren. Verder wordt er niet naar de klant omgekeken.

While working in Student Hotel I ordered a tomato soup (€6) and when offered bread, I said yes. The additional €2 for bread turned out to be 3 small pieces. When asked I got 6, however both soup and bread very quite mediocre. Soup wasn’t tasty, way too sour, with boring dry bread, and too long of a wait for something as simple as takeaway soup. Not recommended.

The restaurant looks amazing, so we went there for breakfast. We sat down and ordered via QR-Code as described on the table. Around 15 minutes later (the staff already walked several times next to us as we directly sat next to the door) one staff asked us if are in the hotel and if we booked the buffet. As we told her that we booked via QR-Code she seemed confused, but did not said anything against it so we waited. 15 minutes later our drinks arrived. I ordered a hot chocolate with oat milk as it was possible to order online. I got a normal one and the staff told me it is not possible to do it with oat milk, but he could put some oat milk extra in the drink.... which is not really the point of ordering something without cowmilk but ok. 15 minutes later the staff came again to tell us our food order was not transferred to the kitchen so it will take some time to prepare. Was OK for us as we had time and we were quite hungry to go somewhere else. After overall more than 1 hour our breakfast finally arrived and it was disappointing. The red bowl was super small and tasted weird. The bakery basket was OK. When we paid they did not say that they were sorry or anything else. AND we had to pay more because of the oat milk which we did not get because they do not have them for the hot chocolate (for coffee they do).

Great breakfast. Impressive fresh frozen coffee. Very kind and helpful service.
