The place doesn't live up to the reviews and rating, abysmal steak and sides. Tourist trap imo.

This restaurant is terrible. I'm surprised it got some good reviews. The service is slow, disrespectful, and the staff are extremely rude, especially if you're not European. Beware of going there.

Terrible experience – very poor service and unfair treatment. We booked a table ahead of time and paid a deposit, but our visit was ruined by unprofessional staff. They gave good service to other customers while ignoring us and treating us with disrespect. The service was extremely slow, and they got most of our order wrong or never brought it. Paying for a reservation only to be treated this poorly is unacceptable. We advise everyone to avoid this place.

Even though we ordered a set menu way in advance it still took well over two hours to get the meal. They weren't even apologetic. Worst service. Completely unacceptable

Extremely disappointing experience. After placing our order, we had to wait 1.5 hours for our meat dishes to arrive. The service was extremely poor and far below what you would expect from a restaurant charging these prices. After waiting that long, we politely asked if they could do us a small favor or offer some gesture of goodwill. Instead, we received a very unpleasant response along the lines of: “We gave you a table without a reservation, what more do you expect?” This attitude was particularly disappointing. Giving a customer a table without a reservation does not justify making them wait 1.5 hours for their food or responding rudely when they politely raise a concern. At this price level, I would expect a significantly higher standard of service and overall experience. Unfortunately, neither the service nor the value for money was anywhere close to what it should be. Definitely not recommended.

Went to this place with my partner a couple weeks ago because online it’s highly rated… anyway, i will never go back it was that bad you’d think differently from the photos..

They clearly wanted to close early, and the whole experience felt rushed and disorganized. We had to order three separate times because they initially told us certain options were available, only to come back later and say they weren’t, and to add to that, just a simple and plain entrecôte took more than an hour. The meat was overcooked, and the staff were rude not only to us but also to each other, which made the atmosphere uncomfortable. At one point, a staff member brought to our table drinks we did not even order and then proceded to accuse his colleague of "having a day". On top of that, one of the waiters kept staring at me throughout the evening in a way that made me extremely uncomfortable. Overall, the service was chaotic, unprofessional, and unpleasant. Definitely not an experience I would repeat.

Had a great lunch at The Uptown Meat Club. The meat was excellent, cooked perfectly, and full of flavor. The overall food quality was outstanding, with every dish well prepared and satisfying. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a meal. If you're a meat lover, this is definitely a spot worth visiting. Highly recommended!

Great place for lunch that we stumbled on in the museum district. Our server (Nicola) was very helpful and fun. The fancy steaks seem pricey, but the other items (we had a burger and a beef salad) were very reasonably priced, delicious, and well-prepared.

A truly excellent experience! The meat was delicious, as was the wine, both excellent. Special thanks to the waiter Nicola, who served us. He was very helpful and kind, and gave us lots of useful tips and directions for visiting new places!

Halal Came with the wife and spent about €90 total for 600g picanha with grilled vegetables and fries. Delicious food. The staff were very nice, especially our waiter Nicola. Halal certificate on the wall (although alcohol is served and one starter is not halal). Good vibe and good people.

The dry aged steak was very impressive, and the service also good.

We’re returning customers, and once again, the food was absolutely delicious and definitely the highlight of the experience. I’m only taking off one star because of the size of the crouton served with the tartare—it was quite small, so I was glad I ordered a side of fries to have something to eat the meat with. At times, it was also a little difficult to get the waiters’ attention, which made the service feel slightly slow. Overall, though, we really enjoyed our meal and will happily return again.

We liked (almost) everything about this place, the food was tasty, the waiters were quick and helpfull, the atmosphere was nice and we could hear each athor easily. The only tip we could give: the side dishes are a bit small. Other than that: go and try it out, you wont regret it!

One of the top notch meat restaurants, Excellent staff , welcoming and helpful. We selected black Angus steak with two sides ( asparagus and red pepper with cheese ) it was good quantity and delicious. The restaurant is quite and really nice place to relax, eat and chat . Near to vondal park and all brands shops surrounding the area , good to have some changing vibes in between.

Unfortunately, our visit to Meat Up on Van Baerlestraat was very disappointing. The staff was friendly and helpful and the wine was good, but the most important part — the meat — was absolutely not good. The tomahawk was incredibly tough and felt almost like I was chewing gum. For the price you pay for this, you expect tender, high-quality meat, but that was not the case at all here. It is a shame, because the service was fine, but in terms of value for money, it was absolutely not worth it for me.

We came here with high expectations but left wirh total dissapointment. Too expensive, meat not well prepared, staff is overstimulated or not interested at all. The Meat came and it was a struggle chewing it. Overall the customer experience is very bad. This place is overrated.

The quality of the meat was excellent, and it’s a great choice if you’re looking for halal options. We ordered the ribeye steak and the Black Angus steak, and both were flavorful, tender, and cooked well. Next time, we’ll definitely order them medium-rare to get the best experience. The staff were incredibly welcoming, friendly, and attentive, making the dining experience even more enjoyable.

The food was mediocre; the sirloin was sold out, so it was Black Angus Dry Aged??, 500g for 2 people. In the end, the meat was dry and not tender. I had high expectations from this meat restaurant. The peppercorn sauce was also disappointing; it had a strange taste, just like the sauce on the potatoes. I didn't find anything special; not worth a repeat visit.

Nice experience here: good food, and a quiet environment. You can dine here in a nice, classy way. For good prices. And you can talk quietly with each other, without loud music or loud noise from people. Even though there was music playing and the place was quite full. The food is of excellent quality, just like the water (purified). I had the steak with smashed potatoes myself. Those smashed potatoes especially surprised me: incredibly fresh! The steak was also top-notch. The service was friendly, though they seemed a bit tired. That's despite the fact we were there around 5 pm on a Saturday. And they didn't speak a word of Dutch. Finally, ordering the water is highly recommended. Deliciously pure water! All in all, a good experience.

If I could give less than 1 star I would. Service was extremely terrible, Our server was very unprofessional, defensive and rude for absolutely no reason. And as a meat lover, I’d never step a foot there as the meat was very dry. We drove to Amsterdam especially tor the restaurant and sadly we had a bad experience and it is to never be repeated.

Love the small footprint and layout of the space. It was my wife and I, at a nice table/booth in the corner. The food was below expectation. The med rare ribeye (entrecôte) she ordered was very tough, and my chateaubriand got scorched on the skinny end turning it into shoe leather. The server said toughness varies from slice to slice (individually vacuum sealed). The CB was delicious in the part that was med rare. Dessert was subpar. Cream brulee was more like crème paste. Very thick underneath the crust. Disappointed but can appreciate the difficulty of having to serve an entire restaurant when there’s only two chefs behind the line in the basement. For such expensive cuts of meat, and the name, I would’ve thought the on-plate quality would have been higher.

An excellent restaurant for meat lovers. I've always ordered steak and have never been disappointed. The meat is always cooked to perfection, the quality is excellent, the side dishes are superb… and all at reasonable prices for Amsterdam. They have a very nice wine list with a good selection of wines by the glass. If you're looking for a delicious steak in a very pleasant atmosphere, the Uptown Meat Club is the place to be. Reservations are highly recommended.

The place is great for a relaxed setup, enough space, charcoal grill, great location. The food is great for what the restaurant is ( not an upscale, but tasty and friendly). Will come back. The place is easy to be missed as somehow the Seafood bar next door is a bit more visible from the street.

Too expensive for what it is. The steak tasted mediocre with no sear. The knives were blunt and hard to cut with. My friend got the burger and said it was good though. In general 3/5 but for the price steak was 2/5.

Particularly unpleasant experience. We are regularly asked to wait 1 minute, but in practice, this quickly turns into 15 minutes. On a repeated basis. Waiting isn't the problem, but lying and not being transparent is. Other unpleasant experiences included cold food.

Perhaps it is a matter of expectations… From the reviews I was expecting a first class steakhouse. Unfortunately the reality was far less appealing. Upon arrival we were greeted by a very friendly hostess who also was our server. The restaurant was clean the tables were reasonably comfortable. The waitress was prompt and took our orders. My father in law and I had the ribeye steak and my wife had the “angus” steak. What I did not know beforehand was that aside from the “angus” steak, all their meat is from Holstein cows that are fattened after their prime milking lives. My wife’s Angus steak was very tender and cooked perfectly. Our Ribeye steaks, on the other hand, were extremely tough and gristely. It took quite a bit of sawing with the steak knife provided to cut through the meat. The chewing required was excessive. My F-I-L commented that he had eaten donkey meat less tough. When I say it may be a matter of expectations…for Europeans this may be what is considered a high quality steakhouse. For Americans like myself visiting Amsterdam for the first time this place was a huge disappointment. I do not recommend this place unless you are happy paying 5 star prices for 3 star meat.

Natalia was incredible. Best G &T !! Then after dinner she made me Kaluha and cream...and she whipped up the cream!!!!! Excellent. Never had one like that.

Natalia is an exceptionally good bartender!!! I highly recommend you keep her employed.

fantastic steak house in the southern part of Amsterdam. We got the tomahawk , tartar, capacio, and sides for a family of four. Kids who don't normally love meat cleaned the plates. Steak was done perfectly!

Steak at its best. Dry-aged, dual-purpose cows—name a trendy term and they use it. After all, you are in Amsterdam, so it has to be hip. Salad is there for decoration, and that is the best place for a salad. Generous portions of fries, but all the attention goes to that beautiful steak on your plate. The service is overflowing with good intentions and is very friendly. However, don't come here if you are in a hurry; take your time.

Nicola our server was excellent! He was very pleasant when greeting us and attentive to our requests, knew and explained the menu in detail! I highly recommend this place. Everything tasted fresh with great flavors and for a reasonable price! The grilled Sea Bream was fresh and exceptional!

My husband and I were here. At the end, the waitress added a 10-euro tip to the bill and was so offended by the refusal that she pointedly turned away and didn't say goodbye when we left. We always tip waiters, but this kind of behavior from the establishment comes across as rude and extortionate.

The steaks here are absolutely outstanding - perfectly cooked, juicy, and full of rich, deep flavor. You can really tell the quality of the beef and the attention to detail in the preparation. I paid 60 euros for 2 bites and a nasty wine. The waitress was uninterested and wouldn't make the effort to pour the wine. DO NOT GO HERE. Oh, and the toilet downstairs is dirty and stinks.
