Overall, pretty great sushi. Have quite a lot of different options that are not just sushi and some really nice drinks. The Gins were expensive but it was nice Roku gin which made it a bit more bearable.

Absoluut het beste sushirestaurant van Amsterdam. Gezellige ambiance, zeer vriendelijke bediening en geweldig, verfijnd eten. Duizend keer beter dan alle 'all you can eat'-sushibars bij elkaar. Bestel vooral de Sint Jacobsschelpen, nog nooit zoiets lekkers geproefd! En dat allemaal in hartje Amsterdam.

This is really by far the best sushi restaurant in Amsterdam and perhaps in the Netherlands. And I know quite a few. Not only great food but also great service! Tip: order the Saint Jacob shells, I dream about them! And you can simply pay with debit or credit card😀

Unfortunately the fish didn’t taste as fresh as some of the best places in Amsterdam. The sashimi barely had any taste, and low sodium soy sauce was not helping. Wasabi was the fake kind as well (as is in 98% places in NL). We also had edamame and unagi which were better than the sashimi & sushi platter.

1. The seats were not very comfortable 2. The order taking too long to prepare. 3.The fried tempra and vegetables mix were okay, even though it took long time to prepare. 4. The menu is too overpriced.

Tomo is the perfect sushi experience in Amsterdam. A small, cozy restaurant with excellent chefs and service. Perfect for quiet, intimate parties if you book ahead. The food is always amazing and they serve probably the best sushi I've had anywhere in the Netherlands. Definitely coming back again to celebrate my birthday here, as has become tradition at this point.

Absolutely terrible service, would not recommend to anyone, I felt judged by the staff the entire time with the sushi being only average at best. To add to it I could hear these two servers by my table making fun and laughing at other customers behind there backs the entire time. Would not recommend, there are many other better places to try in Amsterdam if you want to feel welcome.

Absolutely horrible experience, I would give 0 stars if I could- the servers were incredibly rude, which was so surprising and disappointing considering the good reviews when I looked up the place. I felt incredibly judged the entire time and the staff was sure to make me feel as unwelcome as they possibly could. I would not recommend this restaurant

Sushi was delicious here, everything freshly prepared, I think the grilled octopus was the tastiest. I had done the layout of the plates slightly differently, now all the sushi was on one plate, but it was not beautifully presented. Staff was very friendly. I will definitely come back here.

Really cute and friendly sushi place in the middle of a touristy areas. Super friendly staff, good selection of sake and GREAT sushi. Staff even asks you to adapt the sushi/sashimi fish options in case there are things you're not a fan of. Price is great for Amsterdam standards, atmosphere is very pleasant somewhere between casual and fine dining. Highly recommended

Asked for a glass of tap water, and got charged €1.5 for it. Sashimi set is quite delicious, except for the squid, which tasted bit mushy.

I had a wonderful meal here. I found it on an app called Find Me Gluten Free. I have celiac, so I use this app often when I travel. I was impressed by the quantity of gluten free items on the menu. The food itself was also top notch, as was the service, and the facilities. I will definitely be back on my next trip to Amsterdam.

Sushi was great! It’s close to the Rembrandtplein, where another sushi place is located aswell, but its mass production. Tomo is freshly made, which you can taste. Great experience and would definately recommend coming here.

Extremely laidback but high quality sushi. Amongst the best I've ever had with some expert dishes on offer. It's incredibly fresh and filling and served by waiters with incredible experience. It'll take a lot to top, for me.

We are not happy with food and service. Instead of sushi we got sashimi (my wife can't eat it) and even though we told her she couldn't eat raw fish, she didn't replace it. We tried to order again, but this time we heard that ordering 4 sushis is not possible. Weird and bad experience, never again for us.

Not comparable to all you can eat or large companies, this is really the best sushi we have eaten in a long time. It is not without reason that this restaurant has been popular for more than 20 years

My wife and I spent the last dinner of our honeymoon at Tomo and it was a great experience! The staff is excellent, food was fantastic, and atmosphere is cozy and laidback. Definitely would recommend to anyone in the area!

OK food at OK price, not very fresh sashimi. Sweet-sour sauce. Not the place to go to if you want some “Japanese” Japanese food, this place is run by Cantonese speaking people.

By far the best sushi in Amsterdam and probably in the whole of the Netherlands. Many different types of super fresh fish (including types that you don't see anywhere else, such as Surfclam and real tuna toro) and varied side dishes. Friendly and fast staff and decorated like a real Japanese sushi restaurant. If you want to enjoy sushi like you normally get in Japan, then you should definitely go here.

Really good Japanese restaurant. Food cooked to perfection, quiet compared to the average restaurant in Amsterdam (sometimes chaotic and crowded). The only small but overcome flaw is the tempura, a little heavy and with vegetables that are not always in season (but this can be forgiven in a country where agriculture is mostly Serra). Also highly recommended for the q/p ratio.

Spending an evening at Tomo's was a pleasant experience. I got a cozy table by myself and felt comfortable the whole time. The waitress was extremely nice and welcoming, answered all questions genuinely and left me enough time to choose carefully. Also, I was welcome to choose one thing at a time keeping the menu at the table. The service was outstanding! I got exactly what I was expecting and hoping for. The sashimi was fresh and delicious and I enjoyed every bite of it. The Nigiri looked beautiful and tasted even better. The menu had a nice selection exceeding the standard sushi selection. I definitely recommend this sushi bar.

Tomo sushi is a cute little restaurant, with decent service and well tasting food, but unfortunately I have to agree with other reviewers that the sushi falls apart. We had the “mix maki sushi for 2 persons” which has a nice variety of sushi rolls that —despite falling somewhat— honestly tasted very good.

Overall ok experience. We had to wait around 15-20 mins at the bar even though we had a reservation for a table. The food came relatively fast, but the rolls had mayo in - which was not listed in the menu. It still tasted okay but nothing special for the price point.

Service was a bit slow but then picked up. Food was nothing to write home about, the menu is doing a bad job at enticing me to pick my meal. For the price we paid, all inclusive at Sumo would have been the same price and taste-wise my preferred choice.

Walked In on a Wednesday afternoon and place was empty but staff were great and we were seated immediately. Ordered the sushi platter for 2 and it was amazing. The "spicy"sushi with the green balls wasn't spicy but the popping balls were so unique and we have never experienced such sushi. There was an unfortunate incident with sushi quality but it was immediately resolved by staff no questions asked. And they were gracious to give the drinks for free.

J'ai mangé beaucoup de sushis, mais jamais ils n'avaient eu la fraîcheur et la qualité de ceux-ci. Le personnel est serviable et aimable. Quant au prix, il est celui des sushis. Il y a beaucoup de variétés et ils sont bien servis pour satisfaire votre appétit.

Was good toro sashimi , nigiri, sushi , lamb yakitori, maki and spider temaki but no Umi that night. Chicken And vegetables Gyoza and Dessert Ice cream and brownies ok. Only had one type of sake that night too. Service was attentive and fast. Speaks English.

네덜란드에서 제일 그럴싸하게 지라시동을 하는 집이라고 생각합니다. 특히 “초”밥이 뭔지 모르는 대부분의 유럽 일식당과 달리 적당한 간이 잘 된 밥이 큰 장점. 또 연어/참치 외에도 도미, 문어, 연어알, 일식계란말이, 새우, 기타 제철 생선 등 다양한 회가 조금씩 올라가서 만족스러움. 튀김은 그냥 무난했습니다. 직원분들도 친절하십니다. 가게가 좁아 예약 필수.

The food was delicious and the service was decent. I ordered the Tomo Menu with dessert and it was just enough for one person, I didn't overeat. The service time was quite fast, I didn't have to wait long for the next dish. I'm not sure about the prices, but I think they were average-slightly larger than average.
