I received the best service here. When I accidentally spilled my soup during the meal, the waitress handled the situation professionally and quickly, and she did not show any sign of displeasure or inconvenience. When I felt apologetic, she told me that it was nothing, that it was alright, and that it happens often. I deeply appreciated her gentle and friendly manner.

Very fresh sashimi, decent price, and we had sone grilled which were ok but slightly pricey. We haven’t tried any sushi so can’t really say much about it except for the sashimi .

We happened to come here for dinner during the week, and we were very pleasantly surprised! The food is delicious; everything is freshly prepared, and the wine we ordered with it was also wonderful! The staff are very friendly and offer a warm welcome. It's a wonderful place to visit, highly recommended!

Outstanding. Me and my boyfriend spent my birthdays in Amsterdam , we were craving for some Asian food but didn’t really want to eat at the restaurant so we were looking for something delicious and to take away. We walked in and asked, the staff was really helpful and happy to make our order to go! The food was amazing. I will be back next time visiting Amsterdam.

Went for dinner with a few friends on a Sunday. Great great food! We went there without knowing anything about the place and were highly surprised by the quality. The food was incredible, the service was great, and the place was super cozy and comfortable (the music was also great! And at a comfortable volume to listen and still speak with the people around you). Definitely recommend and will more than likely come back again some time :)

I went with my husband for lunch, for the set menu which is €52 per person. Pros: - Food is tasty and fresh - Ambience is calm - The miso was so warm and balanced Cons: - Portions are small and the interval between the sets are too long - We felt everything was really shy, specially the sushi plate, could be more creative with different rolls included (not only sashimi and nigiri) - No desert Overall I was between a 3 and a 4, giving 4 because the food is good and tasteful, but felt like something was missing. For the price I wouldn’t come back.

Delicious sushi and sashimi. Everything is fresh. The only thing is that we had to wait quite a bit for the tempura shrimp. They were served at the very end of the evening, almost before our patience almost ran out. Very strange, to be honest. We never heard the reason for such a late order fulfillment. Therefore, minus 2* The waiters did not speak Japanese, which also seemed strange for a restaurant that claims to be Japanese.

Wow! It was just an accident because our to go Sushi place wasn't available tonight. Well, now we've got a new favorite go to Sushi restaurant in the heart of Amsterdam. Authentic, utterly delicious fish and seafood, traditionally and a little bit avantgardistic. Personal recommendation: The Toro is as good as at the Yamazato! The staff is very friendly, helpful and welcoming. Definitely a place for Sushi-Enthusiats!!

Incredibly good. The best sushi I've ever had. The service is very friendly and welcoming. The restaurant is a gem among the multitude of restaurants in the area. The dishes are worth the price. The Ramón yaki is tasty, very tender, and with an Asian touch—spectacular.

The sushi here is very high quality: fresh, well-prepared, and full of flavor. The scallop with wasabi cream was exceptional, honestly one of the best things I’ve ever eaten, though the portion was quite small for €9.50. Same with the dumplings,delicious but overpriced for the amount. The Aperol Spritz was weak, but the service was super kind and welcoming. Overall, great sushi, but small portions and prices that don’t quite match the quantity.

We didn’t have high expectations for a sushi restaurant in Amsterdam but this place pleasantly surprised us. Great tasting, fresh sushi and friendly service.

If you are willing to pay a little more I recommend this place highly. It’s a bit hidden near rembrandtplein but don’t let the location fool you, it’s a place of quality. Will return for sure.

Sushi is fresh and delicious- 1000/10 stars. I bought 10 pieces of nigiri for myself and one large beer- it came to $67ish euro and I was more than happy to pay that. Great quality, great service, authentic.

Wonderful sushi place close to the lively and busy Rembrandtsplein! It is relatively small but OMG the sushi are just from an other planet! Staff is also very careful and friendly. It did not disappoint. The highlight: hotate wasabi sosu; a grilled scallop in creamy wasabi sauce …. Absolutely delicious and the Crispy Maki!!! We had also Tomo Maki and Drangon Maki….both also excellent and yummy! 🤤. Would come back!

The menu offers a fantastic selection of fresh fish, and everything we tried was absolutely delicious. The prices are very reasonable, especially considering the quality. Service was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. We left full, happy, and already planning our next visit. Highly recommended! ❤️🍣

To be quite honest, my hopes were low, but I really liked it, the rolling was great, the fish was good, the only slight issue for me was the price, as I thought it was just a little bit too high, but nonetheless. These sushis were awesome!

Heerlijk sushi gegeten. De vis was echt super vers en zoals de nigiri hoort een mooie plak vis die de rijst volledig bedekt. We kregen goed advies voor een gerecht geschikt voor kinderen: Unagi Don. Onze kids hebben er van genoten met de aangepaste stokjes voor kids! Hoe attent is dat!

The sushi and skewers here are really delicious! We also had the rib eye in teriyaki with garlic, and it was really 12/10. The skewers we had were simply tastier than at Yakitori Hanabi (while they specialize in skewers). Unfortunately they didn't have uni when we went, but they did have all the other things. The unagi pieces were also really big and thick, not like those thin, floppy pieces you get at lesser restaurants. In short, super tasty food in a nice restaurant with very friendly staff :)

Review for Toma Sushi As a neighbor, I always try to support local businesses, so I decided to give Toma Sushi another chance tonight. Unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience once again. For €70, I expected something more than a box of soggy rice with a few thin slices of lackluster tuna and farmed salmon. The sushi is far from special—just plain white rice with basic ingredients. It feels like this place is banking on tourists who won’t return anyway, and frankly, I won’t either. Definitely not worth the price. Local restaurants should aim higher—quality and value matter!

Overall, pretty great sushi. Have quite a lot of different options that are not just sushi and some really nice drinks. The Gins were expensive but it was nice Roku gin which made it a bit more bearable.

This is really by far the best sushi restaurant in Amsterdam and perhaps in the Netherlands. And I know quite a few. Not only great food but also great service! Tip: order the Saint Jacob shells, I dream about them! And you can simply pay with debit or credit card😀

Wonderfully prepared super fresh sushi - served in relaxed surroundings by attentive staff

Unfortunately the fish didn’t taste as fresh as some of the best places in Amsterdam. The sashimi barely had any taste, and low sodium soy sauce was not helping. Wasabi was the fake kind as well (as is in 98% places in NL). We also had edamame and unagi which were better than the sashimi & sushi platter.

We received a friendly welcome and had a delicious meal here!

1. The seats were not very comfortable 2. The order taking too long to prepare. 3.The fried tempra and vegetables mix were okay, even though it took long time to prepare. 4. The menu is too overpriced.

Tomo is the perfect sushi experience in Amsterdam. A small, cozy restaurant with excellent chefs and service. Perfect for quiet, intimate parties if you book ahead. The food is always amazing and they serve probably the best sushi I've had anywhere in the Netherlands. Definitely coming back again to celebrate my birthday here, as has become tradition at this point.

Absolutely terrible service, would not recommend to anyone, I felt judged by the staff the entire time with the sushi being only average at best. To add to it I could hear these two servers by my table making fun and laughing at other customers behind there backs the entire time. Would not recommend, there are many other better places to try in Amsterdam if you want to feel welcome.

Sushi was delicious here, everything freshly prepared, I think the grilled octopus was the tastiest. I had done the layout of the plates slightly differently, now all the sushi was on one plate, but it was not beautifully presented. Staff was very friendly. I will definitely come back here.

Really cute and friendly sushi place in the middle of a touristy areas. Super friendly staff, good selection of sake and GREAT sushi. Staff even asks you to adapt the sushi/sashimi fish options in case there are things you're not a fan of. Price is great for Amsterdam standards, atmosphere is very pleasant somewhere between casual and fine dining. Highly recommended

Asked for a glass of tap water, and got charged €1.5 for it. Sashimi set is quite delicious, except for the squid, which tasted bit mushy.
