We had a family late lunch here. Very friendly and quick service with delicious food for both grwon ups and kids.

Super nice place to have a coffee / brunch! The heart of Leiden, popular place, so you have to be prepared to pay a little more.

Super cool and cool that she started following her dreams. It is a mega success Tootje and rightly so. The coffees are delicious and the sandwiches are golden. You are always greeted sweetly and friendly when you walk in and say hello again. Tootje and crew you are great!

Mmm, what a wonderful thirst quencher that kombucha is. The open sandwiches are also to die for... The service is top notch. Highly recommended to refuel and enjoy the street scene in Leiden.

Wonderful thing. Cake was phenomenal, coffee was tasty, but we had to wait a very long time before we could order a second drink.

Very nice cafe! Great for some breakfast or lunch! I had the breakfast combo and have to say that everything was of good quality, I especially enjoyed the moccachino & croissant. The atmosphere within the place is welcoming and they play nice music, gotta come back for the apple pie as it looked delicious.

Everything was great… food service and atmosphere but the highlight beyond all of the above is the dry mint and molasses on the Avocado Toast ! Yum

Chocolate and pralines to fall in love with. We stocked up on chocolates for our vacation here. They were so delicious. Absolutely recommended. But also the service. Loving ladies who guided us through the huge selection and took a lot of time. Top quality and service!

Last week we had lunch at Tootje's. Mannn, what a delicious meal we had! We opted for the Chorito sandwich and the Hangover toasted sandwich (I almost wish I had a hangover every day if I could eat a sandwich like that...) and for our two-year-old daughter a farmer's yoghurt with fruit. The owner thought along with us and made a smaller portion for our daughter, which was really perfect. Furthermore, super friendly service and a really personal touch. Recommended!

I didn’t eat food but the coffees and drinks were really good

Amazing! I got an iced cardamom chai latte and an acai bowl, and my partner got the original pancakes and it was all so good! It's very nice that you can build your own bowl, so I got everything I like :) I really recommend the chocowaffle bites!! The service was great, both girls working there today were so sweet and patient, and the cafe space is so cosy and beautifully decorated. Highly recommend :)

A great place to sit and relax. I had high tea here with a friend. It was the best high tea ever. A well-stocked etagère, completely furnished according to the wishes I had communicated in advance. Everything was really tasty and my girlfriend thought they were the best brownies ever. Communication with Tootje was pleasant and fast. The service was very spontaneous, pleasant and caring; nothing was too much. We enjoyed it; Tootje has two new customers!

I recently had a late lunch hete and was quite impressed with the experience. The food was not only good but also beautifully presented. I tried the Oreo pancakes, which were tasty, though the portion size was a bit modest. The places’ interior is cozy, clearly designed to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. There are also some lovely staff members working there, ensuring that everything is as per your wish. The only thing missing for a perfect 5-star review are slightly larger portions to match the quality of the meal. Overall, it’s a great spot for a well-prepared meal at a fairly reasonable price.

Very cozy place with super nice staff and a delicious menu. You can't go wrong with anything. The coffee is smooth and velvety served in a cute cup. The space is a Dutch small but you can choose from tall chairs against the window or a table in. Enjoy!

A lovely place to have something to drink and/or eat. I have visited this establishment several times and have always had a great experience. The staff is friendly and welcoming, the drinks are great (I always go for a masala chai latte and they make a very good one), and the lunch and dessert options are delicious. Only downside is that the place is a bit small so depending on when you go you may not find a place to sit. Highly recommend!

After our wedding ceremony at the town hall, we had a delicious brunch at Tootje with a group of friends and family. During a pleasant visit to Caresse to discuss our wishes for brunch, we were immediately captivated by her enthusiasm and thoughtfulness. The plans were made quickly and in the end everything was taken care of down to the last detail. We used the private upstairs area and had a delicious brunch here. The brunch, coffee and tea were excellent and everything was very tasty. I can highly recommend Tootje, and especially Caresse and her team. Whether for a cup of coffee, lunch or for a special occasion like ours. Once again, thank you so much, Caresse!

Decent sandwich, the chorizo sandwich was a bit too rich and the avocado was a bit too bland, a combi would be best.

The space is cosy and beautifully decorated, warm and peaceful, the service and kindness of the staff is remarkable, plates are delicious and mindfully set up. You need to be patient, sometimes the space is crowded, totally worth waiting.

We had the iced coffee, the açaí bowl and the Nutella bowl. It was very tasty and fresh, the coffee was tasty and the service was friendly. I only missed the condensed milk option for the açaí and the peanut butter crumbs! 😋 Furthermore, it is logical that the açaí was a bit more watery than in Brazil where it is produced. At over 34 euros it is quite expensive, but unfortunately that is all at the moment.

A few weeks ago we enjoyed high tea for a baby shower for a friend at Tootje. The owner has taken care of everything by attractively furnishing and decorating the space reserved for us on the first floor. The food and tea were delicious. We really enjoyed all the goodies and the intimate atmosphere.

I organized a baby shower here last weekend. And everything was very well taken care of! Very tasty sandwiches and sweet snacks. Very nice that the furnishings and decorations were also taken care of and it looked nice!

This is my all time favorite cafe in Leiden! Caresse and Nick are the sweetest, seeing them always brightens my day. The coffee is AMAZING and so are all the pastries and sandwiches. You can’t go wrong everything they make is so delicious. The atmosphere - whether you’re going for a quick coffee break, to study, or to play board games- is so lovely.

We planned a surprise baby shower at Tootje with high tea and it was so lovely! They took care of the decorations and we were in a separate room which made the experience extra special and intimate. The owner, Caresse, was so responsive on email and made it a breeze to organise. She also played along when we I showed up with the completely oblivious mom-to-be and told us to please go upstairs since the other tables were reserved. And wow, the food! It did not stop coming - every time we thought it was done, they brought another tray with sandwiches, cookies, and home-made pasteis da nada (wow!). We actually all left with left-overs because it was too good to waste. If you want to make a special event intimate and stress-free, I'd really recommend the high-tea!

Wat een ontzettend leuke zaak!! Gezellig en heel cosy. Heerlijk gegeten en ook koffie, thee en verse jus smaakte heel goed. Als we nog eens in Leiden zijn, gaan we zeker hier nog eens brunchen!

Eigenlijk zou ik willen schrijven dat je hier vooral niet naar toe moet gaan. Gewoon, vanuit eigenbelang. Want de kans dat je hier op de drukkere momenten een tafeltje scoort is ongeveer net zo groot als de scoringskansen van Ajax op dit moment. De zaak is namelijk niet zo groot, terwijl het eten echt fantastisch is en met veel liefde wordt bereid. En de chosen ones die het is gelukt om een tafeltje te bemachtigen, worden ook niet echt aangemoedigd om weg te gaan. Goede koffie, leuke spelletjes, prima sfeer en twee hele enthousiaste eigenaren die hun Tootje met passie runnen. We hadden de appeltaart, the forest fruits met speculoos & caramel yoghurt en de Pink Pitaya Bowl. En ik ben een grote eter, maar kon de hele middag op deze bowl teren. Dus ons advies.. gewoon niet naar Tootje gaan!
