Trattoria Toto was a lovely restaurant. The atomosphere was great, food was delicious and service was friendly.

We had the vegetarian pizza and the magherita and they were both lovely ❤️

My date and I were absolutely blown away by everything. It’s an inconspicuous little place, but full of charm and authenticity. I love Italian cuisine, but this is the best I’ve ever experienced. You can truly feel that everyone working here loves what they do and they do it with real passion. The food quality is outstanding, the ingredients are fresh, and every dish is perfectly balanced and beautifully presented. Simply wow. I can’t recommend this place enough!

We stumbled upon it by chance and were pleasantly surprised. The food was very good, the service impeccable. The place is very X-rated, but what matters is the flavor. We arrived early and there weren't many people, but it suddenly filled up. It's worth a visit. A margherita pizza costs 12.50 euros, to give you an idea. A soft drink costs 3 euros.

I had a great spaghetti alla vongole. Lots of garlic and clams and sparing with the cherry tomatoes. Just the way I like it. See the empty plate to get an idea of the quantity of clams on my serving. My companion had the bruschetta which was less impressive because tomatoes were not of great quality.

Tratoria Toto is a hidden gem! The restaurant has an amazing atmosphere and the food is fantastic. Chef Antonio cooks dishes like you are in Italy and makes you feel like you eat at his home. Good Italian restaurant. Nothing extraordinary, but everything was excellent. Prices are a bit high, but that could be due to the good location.

We had a reservation for two, and the drinks were okay. The Bolognese was too salty for me. The staff asked four other guests if the Bolognese was too salty. That's rude and a disrespectful attitude toward the customer. Any other restaurant would have taken the food back without payment. It looked more like a ready-made Bolognese. There are better restaurants in Amsterdam. Never.

Really authentic Puglian food. Great and enthusiastic wait staff and good drinks menu. A bit below street level so you could miss it if walking by but we loved it.

I had a confirmed reservation at this restaurant, but upon arrival, the manager told me there was no availability. This was confusing and disappointing, especially because there was a visibly empty table. When I asked about it, the manager was dismissive and not at all friendly. The lack of professionalism and courtesy left a very negative impression. I would not recommend this place based on my experience.

A typical trattoria with about ten tables, I recommend booking for this place. There's a permanent menu as well as seasonal specials. The portions are quite generous, and the prices are well below the average for Amsterdam. The service could be more pleasant and attentive, but that's really not enough to find fault.

Genuinely the best Italian food I have ever had. I went with my parents who had lived in Germany for two years and have traveled across Europe a lot and they said still that it was among the top italian places. The restaurant deserves five stars.

Great place for cheap Italian food with friendly staff and a good atmosphere

Ingen speciell måltid. Vi åt fyra olika pastarätter. Pasta med fyra ostar var tråkigt serverad med bara pasta och ostsås. Skaldjurspastan innehöll en enda räka, lax, bläckfisk och några musslor vilket vi påpekade. Fick svar att kocken tar det han har.

Grymt besviken. Jag och min man beställde pasta som skulle innehålla blåmusslor, hjärtmusslor och räkor. Vi fick 4 blåmusslor var, 0 hjärtmusslor och 1 räka. Min mans pasta var full av sega bitar av bläckfisk och min pasta bestod till 75% av lax. När jag påtalade detta för servitören svarade han att ”sånt händer, kocken tar helt enkelt det han har”. Om maträtter i praktiken innebär en italiensk pytt i panna tycker jag att det bör framgå. Servicen oengagerad, mat och dryck relativt dyrt för vad vi fick. Rekommenderar att ni går någon annanstans om ni vill äta genuin italiensk mat med bra service.

This place is amazing. First thing, book a reservation! Only about 10 tables and we saw them have to turn people away. Service was great. Food was 100% spot on. Picture is of the lasagna. We started with bruschetta, 4 huge pieces. As well as fresh mozzarella and tomatoes. We also ordered, 4 cheese pasta, pasta amatricana, and 2 pizzas. Highly recommend the tiramisu! Nothing in this meal was bad.

I can't say a lot about the usual atmosphere. I went midweek on a solo trip. But food was lovely and very attentive without being ott. Very pretty place

Locale piccolo, intimo e molto tranquillo, perfetto per una cena rilassata. Il cameriere è stato gentile e disponibile, anche se sembrava un po’ affaticato: gestisce tutto da solo e si vede! Il cibo ci è piaciuto molto e sicuramente torneremo. Siamo rimasti piacevolmente sorpresi dai prezzi: per essere ad Amsterdam, soprattutto in una zona così chic, sono davvero convenienti!

Dinner on a Sunday evening in April, place was busy but we got seated for 3 without reservation. This small Italian place is absolutely amazing, the sever, also running host was on top of things and super friendly. Food was fantastic and the dessert (had the home made tiramisu) was to die for!!! If you’re in the area for dinner time I would 100% recommend giving this place a try.

We very much wanted to try this restaurant, mainly because of the reviews. So we made a reservation. Sadly, the waiter was so unfriendly that we immediately decided not even to enter the restaurant!

We came across this restaurant by chance and were immediately impressed by the lovely atmosphere. The host or owner is an incredibly friendly man who gave us a warm welcome. We ordered the bruschetta and two pizzas - everything was delicious and highly recommended. A real insider tip that we can recommend to everyone!

Kind staff, pleasant space that felt open to anyone. The bread with olives was tasty while the pasta bologenese was decent. Filled my hungry belly but didn't warm my heart like other Italian food I've enjoyed. If you want decent food, that won't break the bank, then perfect. If you want a culinary experience, then seek another spot.

Siamo venuti qua perché disperati e non sapendo dove andare la prima sera ad Amsterdam. Io non mi fido dei ristoranti italiani all'estero e faccio bene. Sì, il cibo non sarà stato pessimo, ma non era sicuramente buono. Mangiabile solo spinta dalla fame e nemmeno lontanamente simile a quello di casa. Senza parlare dell'imbarazzo di fare pagare una bottiglia d'acqua naturale quasi 8 euro.

The staff at Trattoria Toto were incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable. Waiter took the time to explain the menu and suggest dishes, which was much appreciated. The Pappardelle al Salmone was cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. The restaurant itself has a warm and inviting atmosphere, perfect for a cozy dinner.

Update previous review. Authentic, and quite tasty, but the cutlery... I couldn't cut the pizza with the knife provided. A spoon would have done it better. My wife's knife was just as dull. My fork bent because I had to press so hard while cutting. Ragazze e ragazzi, do something about it!

La comida era agradable pero muy grosero camarero que sin rodeos exigió que cerráramos la puerta como llegamos, nos hizo sentir que éramos un inconveniente y extremadamente antipático durante nuestra experiencia. Fuimos testigos de que era muy coqueto con cualquier comensal que fuera mujer, lo que me pareció muy inapropiado. Visitado con mi hermana, ella acaba de mudarse a la zona y de las muchas opciones italianas en la zona elegimos Trattoria Toto y estamos muy contentos de haberlo hecho. Lugar íntimo con una decoración a juego que hizo que la experiencia gastronómica fuera muy agradable. La comida y las bebidas eran geniales, lo único que lamento es no haber probado el postre.

The taste of the food and atmosphere was so good. We ate pizza and ravioli. Both of them was delicious but ravioli was amazing. Only thing is that the portion of ravioli was too less. It would have been a bigger portion.

Loved this place. Only been here once, and I will definitely come again. Cozy atmosphere, and nice service. I had the salmon pappardelle, and it was literally the pasta of my dreams. It was everything I could ever ask for in a pasta dish. Bolognese was good too! I’m excited to try other items on the menu - if I can ever convince myself to order something other than the salmon pappardelle.

Simple but effective restaurant. No frills, but very affable Apulian waiter and speaks 5-6 languages. Fresh pasta, pizza (not very big of course) very correct, prices within the norm, not overpriced.

Terrible service!!! Avoid! Stressed and unfriendly waiter. Zero customer welcome and non-existent friendliness. We had reserved a table for 2 in this small restaurant. We waited more than 1 hour 15 minutes for an order of 2 plates of pasta... And since we were still not served after this long wait, we had to leave the restaurant without eating... No apology from them... in short, to flee.

We had a lovely dining experience at Toto. The spinach and ricotta cannelloni was delicious, and the truffle pasta was simply divine. With a glass of wine on the side it really was 10/10! The staff were also friendly and attentive. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a lovely meal.

You are in Amsterdam!!! The real Italian cuisine of this trattoria is delicious and the waiter alone takes care of the 12 available tables. We enjoy it and even if the menu is small, the quality is there. Don’t hesitate to book. We loved it.

Excellent place to grab breakfast brunch or lunch!! Freshly made menu on-site with many options for all palettes!! We had a croissant and other pastry which came with fresh jams and great coffee. Nice outdoor area to sit and eat as well when sunny!!! The best dish was the cheese croissants, don’t get fooled by the name , these are aweeeeeeeeeeeeesome!!! Great friendly staff as well!!

This is a restaurant where you can have a relaxing meal.

The food was delicious and you can tell that it is homemade, the first time I went it was true that it took a little longer than normal (30 minutes), but with very friendly service even though the place was full. The second time it took much less (±12 min). In short, it is normal for it to take more or less depending on how crowded it is, but it is well worth the wait.

During our stay in Amsterdam at the end of June we had a wonderfully delicious meal there. Very authentic and at a good price. Nothing is a given in Amsterdam. The premises are not very big and typical trattoria…. Simple. The service was great. We absolutely recommend it.
