We visited this lovely restaurant with our children. Everyone ordered pizzas and they were excellent. Great dough and good toppings baked to perfection.

Good experience with a party of 8. Value for the meal was great. The meals were good and portion size decent. Staff did not speak English well and it was a bit challenging to communicate the order.

I popped into this restaurant on a whim while passing. There was no one else inside when I was there, which I found unbelievable once I'd ordered! The pizza was one of the best I've ever had - very crispy crust and perfect toppings. The service was fantastic - I never felt awkward even though I was the only one in the restaurant! And the place itself had lovely decor and charm. Even though it was lunchtime, I was given a candle at my table - a nice touch. A really fantastic place!

Our most recent experience was just as enjoyable. While we were dining, there was a big Italian family inside, chatting loudly and full of life—and honestly, I loved that detail. The atmosphere truly felt like a real Italian restaurant. They’re also very good when it comes to food. A small, intimate restaurant with a warm atmosphere. We enjoyed excellent pappardelle al salmone, followed by an equally delicious tiramisu. The food is generous and of high quality. The waiter was very friendly. We highly recommend it.

Unfortunately, my experience at this restaurant was very disappointing. Although the taste of the food itself was fine (the pasta seemed fresh), we experienced a very unpleasant situation: there was a cockroach in the sauce of the dish. We were quite shocked at the time, which may have caused us to react less effectively. We reported this immediately to the wait staff. The dish in question was taken away and replaced, which we appreciate. However, we had ordered the same dish twice, and given the situation, it seemed more appropriate to us (in hindsight) that both dishes should be replaced. Additionally, we found it strange that no further compensation was offered and that we had to pay the full bill. This did not feel entirely appropriate to us given the circumstances. What concerns us even more is that we later found a cockroach in the toilet as well. This gives us the impression that there may be a broader hygiene problem. With this review, it is not our intention to portray the restaurant in an unnecessarily negative light, but rather to share our experience and inform other guests. We hope that the restaurant takes this seriously and takes appropriate measures to improve hygiene.

I should start by saying that, apart from the pictures on the wallpaper, it has nothing Neapolitan about it, but at least the staff is Italian. The menu isn't huge. We opted for a slice of meat and bruschetta, and they were very good. The staff is super friendly, and the prices are average for Amsterdam. Go there, but don't expect too much.

one of the best pizzas i’ve ever had, and the setting is super nice. we had a table right next to the window looking out onto the street, and the experience was fantastic. the employees also seem very authentic, and they are extremely kind and good at what they do.

Had a delicious pasta with salmon and pizza

This has got to be one of the best Italian restaurants in the Netherlands, because it’s even better than the vast majority of restaurants I’ve tried in Italy! They have a daily special menu written on the board, so even if you’re a regular, there’s always something new to try! Their pasta dishes and main meat dishes are all fantastic. I loved the tagliolini with lobster: it came out piping hot (as it should be and exactly how it’s done in Italy) and the tomatoes are perfectly cooked down and released the delicious juices mixed with garlic and oil. The sauce is really perfect! I’ve had this dish at many Italian restaurants all over Italy and also in many cities in Europe and the US, this restaurant’s version really stands out! I would categorize the style of cooking here as rustic authentic Italian, homemade style. Even their tiramisu is fantastic: neither too sweet nor too bitter, just perfect.

There were eight of us, and we got a table right away. Delicious food, reasonable prices, and excellent service. We had absolutely nothing to complain about. We highly recommend it.

If you're looking for really good Italian pizza and pasta, I suggest to not go to this place. The ambience was quite nice, but the decor wasn't very special (uncomfortable wooden chairs, little decoration, very close tables). We had a pizza and one truffle tortellini. The 5 (!) tortellini were served very carelessly (or so it looked) on a plate. It was clearly not homemade pasta. There was a lot of grated Parmesan on the 5 tortellini, but no sliced truffle. 17.50€ is not much for truffle pasta, but I'd rather pay 25€ and have more than 5 noodles on my plate, which are homemade with real truffles. The pizza was unfortunately only a 3/10. You can't compare it to a really good Italian pizza, it tasted more like cheap snack bar quality. I‘m Sorry.

My date and I were absolutely blown away by everything. It’s an inconspicuous little place, but full of charm and authenticity. I love Italian cuisine, but this is the best I’ve ever experienced. You can truly feel that everyone working here loves what they do and they do it with real passion. The food quality is outstanding, the ingredients are fresh, and every dish is perfectly balanced and beautifully presented. Simply wow. I can’t recommend this place enough!

We stumbled upon it by chance and were pleasantly surprised. The food was very good, the service impeccable. The place is very X-rated, but what matters is the flavor. We arrived early and there weren't many people, but it suddenly filled up. It's worth a visit. A margherita pizza costs 12.50 euros, to give you an idea. A soft drink costs 3 euros.

I had a great spaghetti alla vongole. Lots of garlic and clams and sparing with the cherry tomatoes. Just the way I like it. See the empty plate to get an idea of the quantity of clams on my serving. My companion had the bruschetta which was less impressive because tomatoes were not of great quality.

Tratoria Toto is a hidden gem! The restaurant has an amazing atmosphere and the food is fantastic. Chef Antonio cooks dishes like you are in Italy and makes you feel like you eat at his home. We had a reservation for two, and the drinks were okay. The Bolognese was too salty for me. The staff asked four other guests if the Bolognese was too salty. That's rude and a disrespectful attitude toward the customer. Any other restaurant would have taken the food back without payment. It looked more like a ready-made Bolognese. There are better restaurants in Amsterdam. Never.

Really authentic Puglian food. Great and enthusiastic wait staff and good drinks menu. A bit below street level so you could miss it if walking by but we loved it.

I had a confirmed reservation at this restaurant, but upon arrival, the manager told me there was no availability. This was confusing and disappointing, especially because there was a visibly empty table. When I asked about it, the manager was dismissive and not at all friendly. The lack of professionalism and courtesy left a very negative impression. I would not recommend this place based on my experience.

A typical trattoria with about ten tables, I recommend booking for this place. There's a permanent menu as well as seasonal specials. The portions are quite generous, and the prices are well below the average for Amsterdam. The service could be more pleasant and attentive, but that's really not enough to find fault.

Great place for cheap Italian food with friendly staff and a good atmosphere

Grymt besviken. Jag och min man beställde pasta som skulle innehålla blåmusslor, hjärtmusslor och räkor. Vi fick 4 blåmusslor var, 0 hjärtmusslor och 1 räka. Min mans pasta var full av sega bitar av bläckfisk och min pasta bestod till 75% av lax. När jag påtalade detta för servitören svarade han att ”sånt händer, kocken tar helt enkelt det han har”. Om maträtter i praktiken innebär en italiensk pytt i panna tycker jag att det bör framgå. Servicen oengagerad, mat och dryck relativt dyrt för vad vi fick. Rekommenderar att ni går någon annanstans om ni vill äta genuin italiensk mat med bra service.

Ingen speciell måltid. Vi åt fyra olika pastarätter. Pasta med fyra ostar var tråkigt serverad med bara pasta och ostsås. Skaldjurspastan innehöll en enda räka, lax, bläckfisk och några musslor vilket vi påpekade. Fick svar att kocken tar det han har.

This place is amazing. First thing, book a reservation! Only about 10 tables and we saw them have to turn people away. Service was great. Food was 100% spot on. Picture is of the lasagna. We started with bruschetta, 4 huge pieces. As well as fresh mozzarella and tomatoes. We also ordered, 4 cheese pasta, pasta amatricana, and 2 pizzas. Highly recommend the tiramisu! Nothing in this meal was bad.

Locale piccolo, intimo e molto tranquillo, perfetto per una cena rilassata. Il cameriere è stato gentile e disponibile, anche se sembrava un po’ affaticato: gestisce tutto da solo e si vede! Il cibo ci è piaciuto molto e sicuramente torneremo. Siamo rimasti piacevolmente sorpresi dai prezzi: per essere ad Amsterdam, soprattutto in una zona così chic, sono davvero convenienti!

Dinner on a Sunday evening in April, place was busy but we got seated for 3 without reservation. This small Italian place is absolutely amazing, the sever, also running host was on top of things and super friendly. Food was fantastic and the dessert (had the home made tiramisu) was to die for!!! If you’re in the area for dinner time I would 100% recommend giving this place a try.

We came across this restaurant by chance and were immediately impressed by the lovely atmosphere. The host or owner is an incredibly friendly man who gave us a warm welcome. We very much wanted to try this restaurant, mainly because of the reviews. So we made a reservation. Sadly, the waiter was so unfriendly that we immediately decided not even to enter the restaurant!

Kind staff, pleasant space that felt open to anyone. The bread with olives was tasty while the pasta bologenese was decent. Filled my hungry belly but didn't warm my heart like other Italian food I've enjoyed. If you want decent food, that won't break the bank, then perfect.
