Delicious lunch, absolutely fantastic!!

4.50 for 3 pieces of chicken, have you gone completely mad? And then waiting 45 minutes for your food as well, scandalous.

Today, I celebrated my birthday at your place with family and friends, 20 people in total. We all had a delicious meal and enjoyed ourselves.

Tonight I had to pick up my order at 7:00 PM, stood waiting for an hour, I saw many people walking away, the staff standing there is way too young and inexperienced, fries cold, order is wrong There is also no management present, all in all a mess

Beautiful dining spot! Quiet and beautifully situated on the corner. Atmospheric layout, top-notch service, and a small play area for the littlest children. Fair prices for delicious food!

Verhage Papendrecht at the Markt van Matena is a lovely place to eat. I come here for lunch every week and it is always good. There is a wide selection, and recently they started offering one-pot dishes, which is a nice and tasty addition. The staff is friendly and the specials always provide something new. Highly recommended for a delicious and cozy lunch or meal.

They have really delicious ice cream here. The Twist M&M with Nutella is truly amazing. The staff is also always super friendly!

It's quite sad hthat they give only one little bag of mustard if you order both a frikadel and a croqiet. It sure is expensive enough to give you a second one. In response to the owner's response. I did ask if mustard was included when placing my order. I was given a convincing YES for an answer, whereas apparently, the proper answer would have been: Only with half of it. The owner didn't clarify whether the mustard for the frikadel should have been paid for, but either way, a bit more initiative from the staff would have been appreciated.

Although the food is very tasty, the restaurant is nice, and the staff very friendly and hard-working, things have gone downhill significantly since the takeover by the new “boss.” This man snaps at his staff in front of customers, makes his staff solve problems while he stands behind them, and is not customer-friendly at all. The fry containers are barely full anymore; it is just a real shame and, for me, a reason not to order here again anytime soon.

It's nicely decorated for a chip shop. The fries could be better. It is nice that you can get scooped ice cream and soft serve ice cream.

Great if you're looking for a more upscale cafeteria experience. Good food for a good price.

The food was fantastic!😍 This is probably the best chicken satay I've ever had. The chicken was wonderfully tender and very flavorful, and the fries were also perfect (just the right amount of salt and nice and crispy). The service was excellent, nothing to complain about.👌 Excellent value for money!

Two staff members on Sunday is far too few. We had to order at the counter ourselves because no one came. Then we had to wait 45 minutes for our order. Perhaps something needs to be done to improve staffing on weekends.

Cold food, had ordered (and paid for) iced coffee, got normal coffee.

I just got a carpaccio sandwich, and wow, it was delicious... generously filled on a warm bun with delicious truffle mayonnaise... I haven't eaten it there yet, but I definitely will soon.

We regularly stop here. Always fresh and delicious food, friendly staff, and attractive prices.

I visited Verhage Papendrecht and it left a good impression. The food is neatly prepared and the taste is fine: fresh ingredients, good portions, nothing over the top. The staff is friendly and works quickly, without any fuss. The place itself is clean and cozy; you can see that it is well organized. If you want to eat in peace or just want to take something away, this is an excellent choice. I will definitely be back.

Note: Always check your order! I received the wrong order before. Delivering the correct snacks was too much trouble/was just outside my postal code area. Today there was another error in the order: no sauce. The staff is just hanging around, and the manager is never around. It's a shame, because the quality is good. The service is terrible!!

Great location and excellent food

Great experience here. It is important to me that food is halal. The gentleman very kindly showed me the halal certificates for the chicken (all chicken is halal) and took the trouble to make us as comfortable as possible. Additionally, the staff is all friendly and the place is clean. Tasty food and nothing is too much trouble.

Well, this time it was kind of useless; a colleague ordered and after 30 minutes it turns out there's nothing in the system, just a lukewarm apology. Could have offered better, sorry for the inconvenience, next time you can eat for half the price, that would have been a bit nicer. Yeah, and also the speed at which they get something on the table, it could definitely be a bit quicker, just taking orders one after the other would certainly save time!! Shame this time!!

This restaurant is worthless since it was taken over. I’ve placed an order 3 times since then, and none of the times were satisfactory. Last time I received half a container of fries instead of a full one. I called, after which I was called a bitch—yes, really! By the staff. Shame on you. Apologies from the manager, and a free container of fries. Today I went to pick up burgers, 2 of which came without lettuce... came home—yes, really... with lettuce. Went back, and at first glance, it was resolved properly. I’m getting a refund for 1 burger and the entire order to take home again. Arrived home, everything looked fine, until I took a bite. The burger was still raw. People sat waiting 45 minutes for their food. Dear folks, don't take the risk, and go to another cafeteria. This Verhage has really seen better days!

The food is of fine quality. Cozy location. The staff is friendly, but the service is terrible. Staff walk past the tables erratically, or an order simply isn't brought. We had to walk to the cash register twice to ask them to take our order. We were finally able to order dessert, but we had to ask where that was as well. In the end, we just went to pay without the dessert.

We were there with 4 adults and 3 children. We made a reservation just to be safe, considering the number of people. The food was neatly presented on the plate and tasted great. The service was friendly, and to finish, we enjoyed a delicious Kinder Bueno ice cream.

Review 2 years ago: Good cafeteria, where you can also sit comfortably. UPDATE 28-08-2025: Very dissatisfied with my last visit. First of all, I'm used to them taking your order when you sit down at the table. This time (while it was a quiet Thursday evening), I waited fifteen minutes, then walked to the counter myself to place an order with the disinterested-looking staff. The food tasted good. What really irritates me is that when you decide to collect the free soft serve ice cream that comes with the children's menu (you indicate this to the server and place the ticket prominently on the counter), you decide to order a single-scoop cone. You pay for it on autopilot, only to find out later that they charge €3.55 for that single scoop. In other words, you're paying double for the 'free' soft serve ice cream. Then don't give away those free ice creams with the menu! Even though I used to come here regularly, they won't be seeing me again!

What appears to be a snack bar isn't. We had a delicious meal here, definitely better than average. Delicious spare ribs and chicken satay, where the satay sauce isn't from a jar—excellent. Highly recommended.

On Sunday, Easter Sunday, after a nice bike ride with the little man and my wife, I had a delicious ice cream on the terrace of Verhage. We enjoyed it so much! I am impressed by how delicious the ice cream is here, yes you read that right, Ice Cream, I didn't know they had ice cream until today. It is also worth mentioning that the banana flavor (which tastes very chemical to many) here has a very tasty and good banana flavor. In short, definitely stop by for a delicious ice cream or of course for the other delicacies that Verhage is known for.

Service is a little bit slow. Most of the times you can not understand the reason. Especially for the ice cream stand.

Food is great, atmosphere too. But they can't handle the crowds at peak times. Pick up or order on site or eat on site, everything takes ages. So eat before 5 p.m. or after 7 p.m

Food is reasonable. Personally, I generally don't think the fries are well done enough. However, the spicy chicken pieces are very tasty. Operation is smooth.

Always enjoy coming to Verhage. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, delicious fries. Only... do they have different fries now? Where are the beautiful golden yellow fries? These were thinner and much paler. Shame. Wasn't tasty.

Fries were good, as expected. Ice cream on the other hand.......Artificial flavor. Lemon ice cream was recognizable, but you could only guess at the other 2 flavors (hazelnut pastry and pistachio).

I celebrated my birthday at Verhagen in Papendrecht. And that's not just me. But my guests also really liked it. A warm welcome upon arrival, with congratulations and streamers. The coffee and pastries were also delicious. And it was all served with a beautiful smile. Just like the lunch, which was well prepared and tasty. Thank you employees. Also from my guests. They now hope for an annual tradition. So who knows.

What a nice place there, we came with 8 people for a bite to eat. It was busy, but certainly a few empty seats. We asked if we could have a bite to eat. No, that wasn't possible. We managed to get 2 tables and were able to sit far apart. A very friendly lady came to exchange our table for a larger one. The wait staff walked around with a long face, as if everything was too much. In short, we just found the atmosphere so unpleasant. The staff did not ask if everything was to your liking. We had to ask for the coffee ourselves. Sorry, but I think you can do something about kindness.

Disinterested staff. A chicken salad with the chicken flying over it (three pieces of chicken). The bacon burger is nothing special and it is very pricey. The location is central. The building is beautiful, attractive and spacious.
