Great location and excellent food

Great experience here. Halal food is important to me. The gentleman politely showed me the halal certificates for the chicken (all chicken is halal) and took the time to make our experience as comfortable as possible. The staff are all friendly, and the place is clean. The food is delicious, and nothing is too much trouble.

Well, this time it was pretty much worthless. A colleague ordered, and after 30 minutes, it turned out there was nothing in the system, so they gave me a lukewarm apology. They could have offered a better service, sorry for the inconvenience, and next time you can eat for half the price. That would have been more polite. And the speed of getting food on the table could definitely be faster. Just take orders one after the other; that would definitely save time! Such a shame this time!

This restaurant has been worthless since they took it over. I've placed three orders since then, and none of them were correct. Last time, I got half a container of fries instead of a full one. I called, and the staff called me a whiner, yes indeed! Shame on me. I received an apology from the manager, and a free container of fries. I went to get burgers today, two of which came without lettuce... and came home, yes... with lettuce. I went back, and at first glance, they resolved it nicely. I got a refund for one burger and a new order. When I got home, everything looked fine, until I took a bite. The burger was still raw. People were waiting for their food for 45 minutes. Guests, don't take the chance and go to another cafeteria. This one has really seen better days!

The food is excellent. The location is cozy. The staff is friendly, but the service is terrible. Staff sporadically walk past tables, or orders are simply not brought. We had to go to the cash register twice to ask them to take our order. We finally managed to order dessert, but even then we had to ask where it was. In the end, we just paid without dessert.

We were there with 4 adults and 3 children. We made a reservation just to be safe, considering the number of people. The food was neatly presented on the plate and tasted great. The service was friendly, and to finish, we enjoyed a delicious Kinder Bueno ice cream.

Review 2 years ago: Good cafeteria, where you can also sit comfortably. UPDATE 28-08-2025: Very dissatisfied with my last visit. First of all, I'm used to them taking your order when you sit down at the table. This time (while it was a quiet Thursday evening), I waited fifteen minutes, then walked to the counter myself to place an order with the disinterested-looking staff. The food tasted good. What really irritates me is that when you decide to collect the free soft serve ice cream that comes with the children's menu (you indicate this to the server and place the ticket prominently on the counter), you decide to order a single-scoop cone. You pay for it on autopilot, only to find out later that they charge €3.55 for that single scoop. In other words, you're paying double for the 'free' soft serve ice cream. Then don't give away those free ice creams with the menu! Even though I used to come here regularly, they won't be seeing me again!

What appears to be a snack bar isn't. We had a delicious meal here, definitely better than average. Delicious spare ribs and chicken satay, where the satay sauce isn't from a jar—excellent. Highly recommended.

On Sunday, Easter Sunday, after a nice bike ride with the little man and my wife, I had a delicious ice cream on the terrace of Verhage. We enjoyed it so much! I am impressed by how delicious the ice cream is here, yes you read that right, Ice Cream, I didn't know they had ice cream until today. It is also worth mentioning that the banana flavor (which tastes very chemical to many) here has a very tasty and good banana flavor. In short, definitely stop by for a delicious ice cream or of course for the other delicacies that Verhage is known for.

Service is a little bit slow. Most of the times you can not understand the reason. Especially for the ice cream stand.

Food is great, atmosphere too. But they can't handle the crowds at peak times. Pick up or order on site or eat on site, everything takes ages. So eat before 5 p.m. or after 7 p.m

Food is reasonable. Personally, I generally don't think the fries are well done enough. However, the spicy chicken pieces are very tasty. Operation is smooth.

I am extremely satisfied with Verhagen's service! The team is professional, friendly and always delivers quality. Communication was clear and agreements were strictly fulfilled. I really felt heard as a customer, and the end result exceeded my expectations. Definitely recommended ♡

Always enjoy coming to Verhage. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, delicious fries. Only... do they have different fries now? Where are the beautiful golden yellow fries? These were thinner and much paler. Shame. Wasn't tasty.

Fries were good, as expected. Ice cream on the other hand.......Artificial flavor. Lemon ice cream was recognizable, but you could only guess at the other 2 flavors (hazelnut pastry and pistachio).

I celebrated my birthday at Verhagen in Papendrecht. And that's not just me. But my guests also really liked it. A warm welcome upon arrival, with congratulations and streamers. The coffee and pastries were also delicious. And it was all served with a beautiful smile. Just like the lunch, which was well prepared and tasty. Thank you employees. Also from my guests. They now hope for an annual tradition. So who knows.

Well located and easily accessible. Atmosphere was good. Only the satays and fries were fried too dry. It is also advisable to sweep the place after closing.

What a nice place there, we came with 8 people for a bite to eat. It was busy, but certainly a few empty seats. We asked if we could have a bite to eat. No, that wasn't possible. We managed to get 2 tables and were able to sit far apart. A very friendly lady came to exchange our table for a larger one. The wait staff walked around with a long face, as if everything was too much. In short, we just found the atmosphere so unpleasant. The staff did not ask if everything was to your liking. We had to ask for the coffee ourselves. Sorry, but I think you can do something about kindness.

Bizarrely bad service, waited 45 minutes for 2 fries and a frikandel. When I asked after half an hour if it was almost ready, I got a snarl and an eye roll. Bad thing.

Order your fries special with peanut sauce and fries with peanut sauce without salt. When you get home, there is no peanut sauce in either, so you can get something special in return. When you go back you have to explain four times what you want and they still don't understand it. There is an extra charge of 0.05 euro cents, but it is not stated on the receipt. First time there and LAST time. Can't even say sorry

Terrible company. You order, among other things, 3 fries with peanut sauce to take with you. You get three large cups of peanut sauce without fries. I can't imagine anyone ordering just peanut sauce without fries, but that doesn't get through to the idiot behind the counter. End of story is that it is our fault because we should have checked the order on the monitor beforehand. The manager gets angry too. Worthless company.

Tasty products reasonable price

Grumpy employees. Price is on the expensive side for the portion. Food is very tasty. A big plus is that they have halal options.

Just got a minced meatball from the gravy and a cheese souflé. What a disappointment. The minced meat ball for 4.70 euros was of the petrol pump type and did not come from the gravy but rather from the water. The mayonnaise had no taste at all and seemed to have been diluted with water. The cheese souflé probably did not consist of cheese, but a mixture whose high salt content was intended to give the impression that it was cheese. And then the impersonal staff behind the counter. Very sad and never again.

During a cycling trip, Verhage wanted to have something to eat, when we got there and took a seat, cutlery was immediately placed on the table without asking if we wanted something to eat. Anyway we went to look at the menu, after fifteen minutes no one had come by to ask if we wanted something to drink so we left. It seems as if the employees are shy of people. This was the first and last time for us.

The interior setting is pleasant and green. The exterior view is nothing glorious between concrete shopping center and highway. The dishes are good and plentiful, improved fast food type. You choose your dishes at the counter, and the staff is not necessarily friendly or professional.

I went here with my girlfriend, Amy Kruizinga, for our first date. The food was very tasty and the atmosphere and service were also great, a really great date! We also had a nice night after this if you know what I mean... HAHAHAHHAHAHAHA LOL. PS: She doesn't know that I cheated on her with Shae-Lynn Verstraeten and Charlize Woen.
