There are a lot of people waiting to buy potatoes at this shop. The potatoes are crispy and delicious.

A nice chip shop. The fries were ready very quickly and were very tasty and fresh. They didn't skimp on the sauces either. I'll definitely be back. A definite recommendation!

Unfortunately, I can't share the enthusiasm. We think there are better fries in Alkmaar than these. They were crispy, but they lacked that certain something. They certainly aren't homemade.

Patat is lekker, maar de prijs is echt bizar!! Betaal ruim 9 euro voor 2 middel-patat met saus,. (prijs is in nog geen 2 jaar tijd ruim 3 euro gestegen.) Voor ons geen patat meer bij de Vlaamse Hoek!!

Bestelde een patat maar voordat ik deze gekregen had wilde ik nog wat drinken erbij. Nu is er een combideal en daar vroeg ik naar. Dat kon niet meer omdat ik al betaald had. Nu weet iedereen dat je ff een retour op de kassa kan aanslaan en dan gewoon de combideal kan aanslaan. Geen souplesse van de eigenaar die mij hielp.

Normally, when I've been to a snack bar or cafeteria, I feel so cramped. The fries often don't taste any better than from my own Airfryer. In contrast, De Vlaamse Hoek is a place that makes you happy. The fries are well cooked (you can see, taste and hear that), comes in a nice cone and you get a nice dollop of Mayo on top. Staff are friendly. Top!

We have been eating fries in Alkmaar for many years. They have by far the best fries in town. Don't get your fries elsewhere based on other reviews. If I had the recipe, I would sell fries in Germany

Sweet building centrally located on a large shopping street in Alkmaar. You can pick up fries and, for example, take frikandel, hamburgers and croquettes from the machine. The small portion of fries is big enough, very crispy & very tasty mayonnaise. The burger from the machine was also good. Very fair prices and extremely friendly staff. Thank you very much, we'll be happy to come back.

This store immediately stands out because of its cheerful colors and inviting appearance when you walk in the city! The staff is super friendly and always helps you with a smile! Fries were delicious. They could have been a little less crispy :) that would make them a little dry on the inside. There is also a funny machine where you can “pull” all kinds of stuff (hamburgers, fridadelen), etc. Prices are moderate. Large fries cost €3.60.

The Vlaamse Hoek in Alkmaar, what a wonderful surprise that was! When you walk in, you immediately notice the incredibly beautiful building, where you can also pull out an old-fashioned croquette from the wall (talk about added value!!) And then of course order fries, the owner himself stands behind the counter, you can really see his passion for the profession! so what do you get here? Yes, REALLY fresh fries (or do we call them fries?) They were DELICIOUS anyway, I had them with peanut sauce, and that wasn't 13 in a dozen either, but a tasty dark sauce that really goes great with the crispy fries, which is also delicious served in a cone! We will definitely come back, five stars!

Delicious fries made from fresh potatoes, perfectly golden roasted in clean oil. Fresh and hot served with Belgian mayo. Hmmm! 12 months later: Unfortunately the fries weren't nearly as good. Pre-fried for too long, small, just crispy and no longer potato-like inside. A pity.

Fatty third, still salted. Nothing you would want to eat a second time.

Previously the best, now the worst fries in Alkmaar. No longer fresh fries, fried far too hard at too low a temperature. Consistency like chips, greasy and completely tasteless. Not anymore after 5 years.
