Very nice on a small boat on the water. The lady also knew a lot about good beer (triple).

Vrolijk aan de Vliet remains a lovely spot by the water, although my visit this year turned out to be just a little different from last year. Back then, I was won over by the chicken salad – generous, tasty, and highly recommended, something you happily pass on. So this year I sat down again full of confidence… only the reality turned out to be a bit less generous. To start with: the tuna was sold out. That can happen, of course, but it did set the tone. Then the salad arrived… and I had to take a good look to see if I had accidentally ordered a kid's portion. Where last year there was a large bowl, it now looked as if the kitchen was working on a “summer body” edition: everything neatly halved. The taste? Still fine, that really isn't the issue. But the balance between what you get and what you expect (or remember from last year) is a bit off. It feels a bit like the salad itself has gone on a diet. Otherwise, the location remains top-notch: a cozy terrace, a nice atmosphere, and friendly staff. It is just a shame that the contents of the plate no longer quite keep pace with the good atmosphere of the place. In short: Vrolijk aan de Vliet is still a nice stop, but anyone who remembers how generous it once was might secretly get a little nostalgic. Hopefully, the old, well-filled salad will return from vacation soon.

By far the nicest and coziest lunchroom in Maassluis. The theme nights are also highly recommended.

A lovely place to eat and drink with a very casual atmosphere. A good menu, friendly service, and a lovely location with a floating terrace on the canal. We had a delicious cake and a beer. The lemon pie was delicious.

I never write a review but I really have to say this. We went there today for a coffee with two children. I did not feel welcome. The two women immediately seemed irritated that we had two strollers. I got an irritated reaction when I asked for something, such as boiled water for my son's bottle. They were grumpy and made it clear that they found our presence (babies, stroller and a high chair) too much. It was a really unpleasant experience. I have experienced them being unfriendly before and then I did not go for a few months. Unfortunately nothing has changed...

Lovely bar on a quiet street with friendly staff. There's a very cozy outdoor terrace set right on the canal, with pleasant shade. The menu is great—tea, coffee, desserts, beer, and snacks, plus a separate lunch menu. The photo only shows half of one menu spread. I had a cappuccino (tasty, and came with a delicious candy) and a lime pie. I haven’t tried the rest, but the dishes at nearby tables looked very appetizing. I recommend!

I hadn't been to Maassluis for a while and didn't know this cozy place. but what a nice thing. good food, delicious coffee and for a very reasonable price. We ordered a soup, which was very tasty, but it was not just a bowl of soup. At first I thought she wanted to put the pan on the table, the soup bowl was so big.

Vrolijk aan de Vliet is like a home. Here you can sit at the bar, at a table or on the cozy boat. On your own, with your family, with friends, it doesn't matter... At Happy Aan De Vliet, it's all possible and a lot is possible. A nice drink, snack, lunch, a cup of coffee with a delicious cake or brownie, the one and only poffertjes, a party, it's all possible. The people of Vrolijk aan de vliet are treasures, have a heart for the business, are there for you and know their trade! Dear Kim and Anne, you are TOP women❤️

Merry aan de Vliet is, as the name suggests, cheerful. They have delicious beers, burger menus, brownies and other cakes and treats. Something for everyone and that is really true. If you want to have a nice beer or wine later in the evening, that is possible, and if you want to have a nice lunch on the boat with your children during the day, that is also possible. The owners are super nice and pleasant. And the other staff are also great. They also regularly organize theme afternoons or invite self-employed people to give workshops. All in a great atmosphere with the appearance of your own living room.

Nice, tasty and original dishes. Both cold and warm. The burgers are very tasty. You can come here for a nice lunch, just to have a cup of coffee or a nice beer with a tasty snack. You will always be helped cheerfully. The Bastogne truffles are also highly recommended! If you are in Maassluis and fancy a cup of coffee or something to eat, Vrolijk Aan De Vliet is highly recommended.

Had a cup of coffee with a piece of apple pie during a bike ride. It was a good thing I had coffee because the apple pie was very dry. Otherwise a nice location.

Had a delicious lunch here last week. Very friendly service. The little cards that you find with your food are a really nice surprise and indeed... they make you happy. Good coffee, served hot. The oak interior is not entirely to my taste and makes it a bit gloomy at the back of the store. But it is definitely recommended to go back, hopefully in the sun...on that nice boat in front of the restaurant.

We had a large pita bread, both with vegetarian fillings. One with Cheese with tomato, lettuce, onion, egg and guacamole and one with grilled vegetables with mango chutney and goat cheese. Delicious sandwiches. Very friendly service and a spot in the sun on the terrace boat with the nice village surroundings of Maassluis.

Walked by this afternoon and had a drink instead of just a cup of tea. Messy nachos were beyond expectations, very good and a lot! Churros with dark chocolate sauce, nice and crispy and hot. Nice place, decoration and service. Very accessible and welcome feeling.

Prima cappuccino en koffie. Persoonlijk vond ik het een heel goede appeltaart maar ik kan het me voorstellen dat het niet een allerman vriend is. Mooi dun deeg, noten en niet te zoet. Fijn taartje! De entourage: you love it or you hate it. Menig kringloopwinkel zou groen zien van jaloezie 😉 Oja! Ik zou het bijna vergeten....heel aardige dames in de bediening!

Popped in for brunch after the Sinterklaasintocht. Just in time, because after we did the place was packed. Our brunch was very good, staff really friendly. We had the window table and it was a bit of a nuissance that people who came in or out, did not close the door leading draft.

What a nice thing. Excellent card with very reasonable prices. Delicious cake and brownies. Good music, great antique decor, and friendly service. Top. The nachos were plenty and delicious. With good dips/salsa. a little more cheese could be good. The 5th star (from me) can be earned if it contains fresh quacamole and creme fraiche. Tasty beer and coffee and the fact that you can also take the tasty deserts home with you is of course a great option. We certainly made use of it. You can buy even more nice (gift) things there. We will definitely come back here again.

Nice place, nice terrace with characteristic view. Vegan coffee was not possible :-( so we had to switch to tea. No allergen information on the menu. Very nicely priced, so the rest of the group also had a -delicious I understood- pastry. If we lived in Maassluis we came here often.

Had lunch here on a Friday afternoon. We were 2 people and first sat outside, when it started to rain we went inside. The staff was friendly and cheerful and they live up to the name. The Italian roll, with homemade roast beef in my case, was delicious. The bun was baked and perhaps even a bit too fresh because the bun was still a bit too warm from baking. However, this is only a minor drawback. They also have excellent coffee and tasty sweets. Definitely a nice place to have lunch.

Beautiful location. Friendly (Cheerful :)). Nice to see that they are still there after corona. It met my expectations and the service was smooth and friendly. I was happy with my Italian roll with homemade roast beef (recommended). Naturally, we had a pleasant conversation with the Vrolijkers and I can look back on a successful lunch with a satisfied and satisfied feeling. Keep up the good work!

Today, for the first time and certainly not for the last, I had lunch with the ladies of 'vrolijk aan de vliet'. Besides the fact that the food is very good, everything has been thought of here. The ambiance is great, you feel welcome, very cozy atmosphere, everything fresh and homemade. And as icing on the cake, you get a delicious piece of homemade fudge with a cup of tea/coffee. Which of course I also bought (at least my mother treated me to this) to enjoy with a cup of tea. Highly recommended, this lunchroom where everyone will feel very welcome.

Lovely in the sun and more out of the wind than on the Maassluis Market. Co-owner Kim is very good at her job. Her attentiveness is missed by the Watcher. Simple menu but everything is tasty.

Super tent, delicious food, nice authentic ambiance, with very nice service! Even without gluten-free bread!!

My husband asked if the tomato soup on the menu was gluten-free. And that was true, except they didn't have a gluten-free sandwich that was served with it. Ok, then just soup. At checkout we had to pay the full price, even for a sandwich that was not included. Isn't that childish?

Been for the 2nd time. First just for coffee around 3:30 PM. 2nd time later in the afternoon for drinks and snacks (4:40 PM). Nice terrace, nicely decorated and excellent service. Good price/quality ratio.

What a cheerful place and pleasant ladies, unfortunately only takeaway coffee, brownies, blondies & fudge at the moment or the "This is how I can get through the weekend cheerfully Tas". Longing again for the fun on the terrace boat and the delicious dishes that the ladies serve, such as: the Avocado Burger or Italian bun with Salmon Mmhhhhhh. Ooooo yes and maybe a bit of advertising, but the Cheerful ladies now also send the Cheerful Brownie boxes so that they end up on the doormat... so a real TIP!!

How I long for the cheerful conviviality on the terrace boat. Always wonderful to sit there. Until then we have to make do with the delicious brownies (and believe me that's no punishment 😄) or a blondie, maybe fudge. In short, still a reason to visit!
