4.5 for a cappuccino and then 50c extra for oatmilk is crazy for a local cafe. The rest is great though

We dropped into Wandu on a quiet Sunday morning during a neighborhood stroll and immediately loved the bright, airy interior. The space feels well designed with clean lines, soft tones, and plenty of plants that create a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. It has that polished neighborhood cafe aesthetic without feeling staged. Their pastry case features a concise but thoughtful selection of baked goods. The coffee program covers both espresso and pour over, prepared with proper technique and supported by the usual range of milk options. The standout for us was the tea program. They carry a genuinely strong selection rather than the standard generic assortment and our pot was brewed at the right temperature with clean flavor and no bitterness. It is clear they give the tea menu the same level of attention that they give their coffee. Seating is comfortable, service is easygoing, and the overall vibe is perfect for a slow morning. A charming neighborhood coffee shop worth stopping into if you are nearby.

We were served kindly and loved the style of the café. It's beautiful and cozy. And the products served were simply delicious. The cheese bread was wonderful and perfect: crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Our coffee was very good. You can tell the beans are high quality. We also ate the croissant with cheese; I dare say it was one of the best I've ever had. It was fresh out of the oven. I will definitely return next time I'm in Amsterdam.

Very expensive, the taste was not ok for the drinks

The coffee is good and the staff were friendly. When I was there, there was also a gathering of six or seven people who hadn't met before. Because of this group, the small space immediately felt very crowded and noisy. I feel Wandu is more suited to small groups who can chat quietly at the small tables, so everyone can enjoy their coffee in peace.

A very nice and welcoming little café, with excellent quality products. I recommend it to everyone for the quality, the kindness, and the slightly secluded and quiet location.

Super cute aesthetic. Fun, attentive staff. They even let us stay a little after closing to complete our meals. Loved the atmosphere. The matcha cake was everything.

The taste was fine, but much too dry and hard for a cake. 💰Amsterdam is expensive, so this isn't exorbitant, but I expected a bit more from the slice of cake for that price. 🏠 Nice decor and a clean restroom. 💻 Laptops 🙅🏻‍♂️🙅🏻‍♂️🙅🏻‍♂️ are not allowed on weekends. During the week, a maximum of 30 minutes are allowed.

High quality service and preparing. They warm up the brioche, wear gloves, wash the carrots for the juicer, give you bags if needed… I mean all this being reasonable fast. The food and beverages options are very interesting and deserve to be explored. I’m a picky person but I left that place like an happy bunny who finally saw ideas and caring people.

It was a good surprise to get some pão de queijo there.

The matcha was ceremonial grade bright green match, a quality and taste that I could not find at eight other match shops that were supposed to have good quality matcha. They serve Nekohama matcha, and you can taste it through milk and oat milk. I generally bring my own Ippodo matcha with me while I travel, but with this shop being close to the Pulitzer, I didn’t feel a need to make it myself. Best matcha I had in Amsterdam. My partner said the latte might have been the best one he has had, ever? Both quiches and the cinnamon bun were delicious. The staff were both had a soft and quiet warmth, and the service was great. I see some other reviews that talk about waiting time, but this is not a fast food restaurant. They hook the pastries fresh, they bake the quiche for 15 minutes after you order it, and they make the juices with real fruits and vegetables. Quality takes time.

I went for the first time. Good coffee. I ordered an iced latte and orange juice. The coffee was good. The breakfast menu is strange; I found the lunch menu more appealing. Downstairs, they sold jewelry.

I went a little after 10am on Sunday! I was the first customer, so it was really quiet and nice. The interior is really pretty too! I see a lot of white/ivory/brown interiors these days, but I thought it was too common these days? But this place has not only white and brown, but also slightly light pink interior and green points, so it was a bit new and really nice. I ordered iced matcha banana, aeropress coffee?, and cinnamon bun. The iced matcha banana is really healthy, and it was really delicious because they put real bananas in it! The coffee was really weak at first, but as time passed, the flavor deepened and the acidity came up! I personally don't like acidic coffee, so it was okay, but if you like acidic coffee, I recommend it! The cinnamon bun was also really soft and chewy? It was so delicious! If you order the wrong cinnamon bun, it will be dry and tasteless, but this one is completely moist!! The people working at the cafe were also very kind! It may sound like an old fart, but I feel bad when no one greets me when I enter a cafe, but here, they greet me first so kindly that I start the morning by drinking coffee in a good mood!

A place with a good potential but the rudeness of the staff makes it not worth your money. Food; the place is entirely ok. Not worth the price, you can find better in the neighborhood but entirely ok. The espresso shots are of good quality. The chai is very obviously made from a powder, and only tastes like sugar, no real spice inside. The matcha that the owner is so proud of is unfortunately not the best quality, and has clams left inside. The cakes we had on our previous visit in the morning were very tasty, however at the end of the day they start looking dry in the glass cabinet. Service; this is where the place unfortunately looses the most stars. The young girls working there, may try their hardest, but it’s hard to counter the very rude old man behind the bar. He made other customers feel bad for not speaking proper English, overcharged us for drinks, and upon us trying to have a conversation with him, he claimed to be the “expert” and said that “we don’t know enough to discuss with him”. We tried to talk to him, but the rudeness was really overwhelming. The rudeness of the old man (the owner?) is also a theme that really comes up in all the lower reviews of the place. Atmosphere; the place is decorated very nice and cozy, has plants and comfortable places to sit. The bathroom was quite dirty, and the floor was completely wet, which is a slight oversight. Not allowed to use computers inside.

We had a cinnamon roll, a carrot cake, a chai, and a latte everything was absolutely amazing! The service was incredibly attentive, and the place was spotless. No doubt we’ll be coming back. Highly recommended!

1 star because of the leaky water faucet in the toiler. 😔 Water is a resource. Please be more conscious. 💖 Also, let people enjoy their cheesecake and espresso combo, it’s not so serious. Maybe next visit will be better! Hugs!!

Wandu Amsterdam is a great cafe to enjoy a coffee or enjoy a delicious lunch/brunch. The atmosphere is warm, with elegant decoration, combining sobriety and green touches that invite relaxation. The service is attentive, and the menu offers varied and creative options, perfect to satisfy all desires. Whether for a friendly moment with friends or a solo break, it’s a place where we like to return.

I cycle past Wandu almost every day. That's because I live around the corner. I've never gone in for a coffee. That's because I live around the corner. And I'm not a big fan of hipster places. Still, I give Wandu five stars. As a compliment to the person who writes the comments under the reviews of people who are deeply offended and only give one star. I think it's really great to just respond very calmly and politely. Especially because the criticism often (always?) makes no sense at all. Maybe I'll hit the brakes after all. Very tasty coffee, various vegan milk alternatives, but also quite small portions. You can sit comfortably, but there aren't that many tables.

The staffs were quite rude, they gave an attitude to the customers before us and they weren’t very friendly to us. The drinks were okayish. Would not come back here again :/

This has truly become a pleasant addition to the neighborhood. A nice, fresh place with a friendly owner, where I like to drop by for a chat. I mainly come for their matcha cookies and espresso tonics. I would prefer to use a laptop every now and then, but their policy on this ensures that it remains the relaxing place that it is. Not many places have that anymore.

The place is simply charming and cozy. Every detail offered reflects the highest quality. Without a doubt, it is a location I will always make a point to visit.

OK place. Cappuccino is made extremely hot, burning your tongue and any protein molecule the milk has. Apple pie is warm but soggy. Service is lovely and calm. Interior is cold and lifeless.

Good coffee & cool vibe! There was a ceramic art exhibition going in the space downstairs by art ceramic studios which made my experience extra special. A very warm and welcoming host / teacher showed me the wonderful work made by her students. Very impressive. Will definitely come back again!

Wandu Café is such a great spot! The atmosphere is super calm and cozy, making it perfect to relax. The coffee is excellent – if you love good coffee, this is the place for you. The food is also amazing, made with really fresh ingredients from local shops, which makes everything taste extra good. Plus, it's pet-friendly, so you can bring your dog along! Overall, it's a 10/10. Whether you're into coffee or just love good food, I definitely recommend checking it out!

Horrible PLACE! Never back again. They dont say you have a limit time to work with your laptop and they kick you out without even caring if you say you need 5 more minutes. Expensive and horrible atmosphere!!

I sat down for a coffee. I opened my laptop, but I was only allowed to sit here for half an hour. I was asked to leave the cafe EXACTLY with 30 minutes left while no one was sitting there.

I had a great time over there! The atmosphere with super friendly service, delicious matcha and cinnamon bum. They allowed laptops for 30 minutes, what was a good time to work on my things and also enjoy my match without a screen.

The best matcha I’ve ever had at a cafe. Very high quality. And the ristretto is amazing as well. Not too bitter with a nice nutty aftertaste.

An honest and natural kitchen. Literally everything is incredibly tasteful. The fresh quiches, delicious salads and the pastries are 👌🏻. Wandu radiates a very chill atmosphere, also reflected by the kind people working there.

This little coffee shop had really great open faced Korean inspired sandwiches. The Ssamjang was really delicious. It is a spread made from tomatos and mushrooms. It wasn’t too spicy but gave a good enough kick. The pumpkin sandwich was a very mild flavor but a nice combination with the goat cheese and the pomegranate seeds. Would recommend the ssamjang though!
