My girlfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Restaurant Witlof during our vacation on Texel. Finally, a restaurant that's 100% vegan! The food is truly delicious. It's set up so you combine smaller portions, which sounds strange at first, but ultimately offers the opportunity to showcase the restaurant's full range of dishes. It's actually a really cool concept! The service was so friendly, and they explained all the Dutch terms we didn't understand. A truly excellent experience!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Google said they were open… they were not.

Excellent restaurant, highly recommended. At dinner you can choose between a vegan burger or small dishes to share, which is what we did. You order 3 to 4 snacks per person of about 8 euros per snack, and these are very varied and very tasty. The service is excellent and the restaurant is very atmospherically decorated

SOOOO delicious food, lots of gluten free choices which is great for me (celiac disease), everything is vegan but the dishes are super creative and tasty. You want to lick your plate!

A nice vegan restaurant. The portions are inconsistent (some are very small, others are ok) and you should budget 3 hours for a meal. It's rather expensive. But generally it was a pleasant experience and the staff was very friendly.

When we entered we were very enthusiastic: this restaurant looks cozy, friendly people, and a personal card had even been written. However, this is not the place for a group of 9. We sat for 2.5 hours to eat a total of 2 dishes per person. We hardly had any service at our table to order drinks/extra courses. In addition, several items on the menu were not available, and once we were even served a different dish than ordered without consultation. The food was tasty, but relatively expensive for the portions.

Food was extremely good and original, prepared using many different ingredients. Also the service was really kind. Definitely worth it for vegans and non-vegans alike!

Delicious food with surprising combinations. Completely vegan. The friendly lady who served us advised us to choose three dishes each and share them. We chose the humus, pani puri, birria taco, tiradito, chicory and fries. Everything was very tasty and the plates were beautifully presented. For desert we chose apple gyoza and the brownie. We will definitely come back.

What a fantastic restaurant. First of all, everything is vegan and secondly, everything is super tasty. The service was attentive and friendly, the food came quickly but not too fast and it was all tasty. Highlights were the fried cauliflower (why is that so tasty? It's cauliflower, a bit of a boring vegetable) and the soup. Next time on Texel I will definitely go here again

We had a great meal at Witlof! The menu offers a wide selection of vegan dishes, so there is something for everyone. We shared a total of eight dishes, which was just the right amount for us. If you like varied, tasty and spicy dishes, this is definitely recommended. We would love to come back!

So good i couldn’t believe it. Usually such a diverse menu, especially a vegan one can be quite underwhelming. This place surprised us with such high quality food and service that it was honestly the best dining experience I’ve had in the Netherlands.

Delicious food, really great! Nice atmosphere. Friendly staff. It's a shame that it all went very slowly. We ended up canceling the last dish of the 6 (you order all dishes that you eat together) but it was not available after 2 hours. That was no problem by the way, it just went off the bill; and we just added back the drinks that they had forgotten to put on the bill. In short, logistics could use some improvement.

This restaurant is a MUST for Texel holidaymakers who value high-quality (vegan) food and friendliness. The food was incredibly tasty and the service was friendly, uncomplicated and competent. The six of us had a total of 20 small dishes and three desserts, but the price was completely reasonable and the quality of the food was very high. We would come again on our next vacation. Our two dogs were allowed into the restaurant after registering.

Delicious food! Went last Friday with my family and grandmother. My grandmother is far from a vegetarian but thought it was all very tasty! Completely new combinations of food was quite an experience. Staff and owners were very friendly and the atmosphere was super cozy! Really worth it!

They were incredibly friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to make our visit special. It's clear they genuinely care about their guests. We brought our kids along and they had a blast! The place is definitely kid-friendly, which made our lives so much easier. And let's talk about the food – it was phenomenal! Every dish was delicious and beautifully presented. The food was delicious! Only plant-based dishes are a big advantage for me personally! All dishes were equally tasty, only the fries were a bit limp. Nice way to eat all kinds of different dishes, everything tasted very good. We had 7 dishes together, and a dessert each. The restaurant is attractive and the service very friendly. I didn't find the service/serving slow at all, but I'm not in a hurry on holiday ;).

And right here, in this place, a figure of magical and lasting elegance served us and endured us, despite our primitive English, with particular and excellent quality food. Thank you.

Great plant-based food, served with a big smile. When I sometimes read other reviews here about how you wait a while for service, I get the feeling that some island visitors would be better off going to the instant pizza or burger joint. This is freshly prepared, very refined and worth it🌱

Delicious completely vegan food, pleasant atmosphere and friendly service. Very small portions for the price. For a decent meal, take into account +-4 dishes per person. We left early because we didn't think it was worth the price. That's why you only spend €30 per person...

Made a reservation at 7:00 PM, had 1 drink at 8:00 PM and still no food on the table

Those small dishes are nice, but if it takes half an hour for such a small dish to arrive, you will still be busy the next morning. We left early because it took so long and because the dishes fit in the hollow tooth. Went to a pizzeria and ate a whole pizza for the same price as those small dishes!

Food was reasonable but several dishes with the same components. Candied walnuts and hummus, for example. You have to like it. Various service errors: different beer than ordered, wrong dish served and not both people served at the same time. Etc. Cauliflower was a bit too black and the knives were so dull that they couldn't cut through a taco. Towel in toilet…🤢🤢

We came in a few minutes after the kitchen closed, but the lovely staff still made an amazing dinner for us! We recommend the kimchi pancakes, the aloo tiki and the burger! 🫶 Never had vegan food that good before!

This was one big party! What a delicious meal we had! Although the concept was no longer used, we ate 8 dishes for €30 pp. Delicious and surprising combinations! The taste and presentation of the dishes, the friendliness of the staff, chef and owner, I don't think I have ever eaten so pleasantly and deliciously! I can recommend it to everyone, even meat eaters!

Arrived at Witlof for lunch. Nice ambiance. The employees are truly friendly, service-oriented and, above all, relaxed. I love it! The soup was red cabbage with apples?! I enjoyed it, it was very tasty. Aren't childish with the bread next to it either. Our first time, but not our last. If you really want to enjoy food without animal suffering, Witlof is the place to be.

We were here with a group of girlfriends (carnivores, vegetarians and vegans), everyone raved about how delicious everything was. Nice to have you here!

Kimchi dog was tasty, the tacos were really bad. Tasted like a spice explosion, I really had no idea what I was eating. Portion is also not commensurate with the cost. In our opinion it also took quite a long time before the food was delivered. We had a nice meal here last year, but this time it was quite disappointing.

T#ring nice. The woman didn't want to eat meat so I agreed. Like I'm wearing the pants at home. But it was very tasty, I would like to come back even though there is no meat. Children also really enjoyed it, despite the fact that there are no toys with the food. Experiencing Texel is eating chicory 👌

Heavenly mud! The homemade chocolate mousse was fantastic. We were actually hoping for more 'with love' dishes, but everything was delicious.

Su-per lekker eten. Sowieso het leuke concept van foodsharing om eindelijk eens geoorloofd eten van andermans bord te pikken. En als dat eten ook nog eens lekker is is dat helemaal een plus! Leuke bediening, redelijke prijzen, prima kwaliteit!

Wat een geluk dat Witlof bestaat. Ik zou dit concept zo mee naar huis willen nemen. Op Texel? Dan naar Witlof! We hadden keuze stress en kozen voor de verrassing gerechtjes.. De beste keus om te maken! Gisteren weer gesmuld! Bediening werkt hard en blijft attent al is het flink druk en gezellig. Complimenten! Wil je plantaardig eten en aan zee zijn: ga naar Paal 12! Deze super relaxte en gezellige strandtent is van dezelfde eigenaren. We love it !

Some dishes were really great, some less impressive (expected a bit more from witlof but edamame was simple but delicious). Friendly people and nice atmosphere! You might want to book for dinner!

Heerlijk gegeten, wat je allemaal niet kan doen zonder vlees. Was zo lekker dat we de dag erna weer bij wit-lof zijn gaan eten. Een echte aanrader.

Gezellig restaurant, we werden leuk ontvangen met een persoonlijk kaartje op de tafel. We hebben van te voren gebeld, omdat we 1 persoon met coeliakie hadden. Hiervoor was een apart kaartje geschreven met de gerechten zonder gluten. Daarna was er toch een beetje verwarring over de gerechten met en zonder gluten. Dit is goed gekomen. Vriendelijk personeel en lekker gegeten!

We zijn heel warm ontvangen door een aardige serveerster. Het eten was verrukkelijk, vooral de bloemkool. We hadden gekozen voor een keuzestressvrij menu met drie personen en hebben alles gedeeld. Gedurende avond kregen we mooie gerechtjes op tafel. Een aanrader!

Très belle découverte ce resto vegan. Une profusion de saveurs, une originalité à chaque plat, des accord harmonieux. Tout cela arrosé de bonnes bières locales et avec un accueil chaleureux... Que demander de plus pour une soirée réussie...

We came here, because we saw the reference to this restaurant at the partner location Paal12. The food is vegan and really amazing. We had the Kimchi Dog, the humus and the brownie for lunch. The restaurant has a super nice interior and the people there were absolutely friendly and attentive. I recommend a visit.
