Wowcrab in Grachtengordel-Zuid

We made a reservation because we had heard great things about this place, and it definitely lived up to our expectations! The food was absolutely delicious, everything tasted fresh, and the portions were great. The staff were very friendly, and the atmosphere was lovely. We had a great experience and would definitely come back the next time we’re in Amsterdam!

It was my second time staying there. Every time I’m in the Netherlands, I make it a point to visit because I genuinely enjoy the place.

We ordered the Combo 4 for two. The set cost €128, and with a liter of water and a cola, the total bill came to €144. Before visiting, I had seen many reviews saying that the portions were too small and that people left hungry. However, our experience was completely different. We were actually very full and couldn’t finish everything, even though we both have a big appetite.The staff were very friendly and welcoming and helped us choose our dishes. Our order was served very quickly. Almost everything was delicious and prepared to a high standard.The only item that disappointed me was the lobster. I’m not sure about its freshness, as the taste was quite unusual and not enjoyable at all. Everything else was excellent.My only other complaint is that there was only one seafood cracker/tool on the table, so we had to take turns using it, which was a little inconvenient. Overall, we had a very positive experience and would happily come back again.

It’s a nice concept and the food was passable. However, I found the service very impersonal and orders were not taken at the table, while the QR code cannot be scanned if your hands are covered in food. The crab was not up to par, but nothing was done about it after I reported it. With +/- €250 worth of shellfish on the table, we had to pay again for some extra sauce with the fries. Definitely not recommended if you are looking for a cozy atmosphere, service, and good food. It is recommended, however, if you couldn't care less and like eating with your hands.

The food tasted great, short waiting time for drinks and for the food, friendly staff, real fun experience eating with you hands (with gloves ofcorse). A little pricey but worth it for the amount of seafood that you get. Loved the music btw.

Went out for food with friends. Waiters make you pay half way throughout the meal when your hands are dirty. They pressure you to pay at the worst moment. Furthermore, the managers do not reply to emails you send. It is incredibly disappointing how they treat customers. If you want good service DO NOT come here.

Fantastic restaurant in Amsterdam, with excellent service and truly fresh ingredients. The dishes are incredibly flavorful, but be warned, they're very spicy! If you don't like spicy food, go for level 1: even level 2 is quite intense. The ingredients are excellent, although I would have liked a bit more sausage. The cocktails, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, are huge and very well made. The seafood boil is €62 for two people: more than enough, it fills you up very quickly, especially with the accompanying rice. A little tip: if you're hesitating between langoustines and prawns, go for the prawns; they have much more meat. The Wow Crab sauce is a gem, perfectly seasoned; I would have just added a touch more lemon.

Food was amazing however, we reserved at 9pm and were rushed to pay mid meal because they fully close at 10... If you know how a seafood boil works, it is quite messy and requires you to peel a lot of seafood. By the time we ordered and the food arrived, that left us about 30 mins to eat, which is clearly not enough time given how much peeling needs to be done... Personally, if I spend 160+ euros for two people I would like to enjoy it. My only suggestion would be not to take reservations after 8:30 if your intention is to leave at 10.

It is such a rip-off; for €62 you get a bit of fish and that’s it. You pay more for the person bringing the food in a bucket, nothing more. The food wasn't special; this is a TikTok trend. We arrived thinking that for €40 per person we would get everything included. The only thing we got included was a napkin, nothing more. BAD BUSINESS….

We took the combo 4 today, quality was good but let's say we expected more for that price and also the sausage was missing... something that was then fixed by offering us the drinks. Waiter helpful and attentive.

A very fun evening, different from the usual dinner. I won't go into detail because the pictures speak for themselves. Very good food, plentiful and tasty. Good service, and a lovely venue.

Even if you have a reservation, you have to wait to be seated. Service was quick but it is a nit overrated.

Well… We'd only ever experienced this type of restaurant in Florida before, and we found it to be excellent value for money. We couldn't replicate that positive experience here. The food isn't worth the price; it's completely overpriced. The service was friendly and quite fast; we ate dinner there. It's incredibly loud due to the extremely loud music, making conversation nearly impossible. We unfortunately can't recommend it.

Suffered severe food poisoning, one of my worst ever. If the restaurant isn't doing so well, we don't have to pay the price. Ordered the most expensive dish, too…

The staff are really kind, helpful and paying attention to the customers, the food is delicious and the sauce as well in the combos. I really enjoyed eat here for sure I’ll be back

It smells super good for seafood fans when you enter the restraunt. The tables are almost full. We waited for 15min for the ordered food - acceptable time period.

We ordered 2-3 people set for 3 of us. The portion didn’t seem so generous. But taste was very good, overall happy with the service and the food

The name would be better off being Wowcrappie; what a disappointment. To start with, the waitstaff spilled half of my cocktail over my coat — and dismissed it with a "sorry." The staff seemed completely uninterested in their work anyway. We had ordered the largest platter, but everything tasted the same, like that nasty spicy sauce. The mussels, the crab, the lobster, the prawns: truly tasteless. There wasn't even meat in one of the lobster claws — clearly everything had already been pre-cooked. Let's not even talk about the wine, 80% of which wasn't even available. The atmosphere was deplorable and the toilets were downright filthy. One big disappointment.

I love the food and the overall customer experience. They treat you like royalty and handle every request quickly with great attention to detail. Highly recommended!

Great. We were a bit late and were seated in an upstairs room. It was very messy, but after some shuffling, it was resolved. It was my first time there with a birthday person, and I had mentioned it beforehand, but nothing was done about it. A shame. We came from far away, but our table was already gone.

If you know good taste of seafood- don’t waste your money here. Overhyped, overpriced and the seafood tasted like nothing. Only the sauce gave taste, but you could tell that it was precooked in water. Didn’t even taste like crab, shrimp, whatever. Huge disappointment.

Food was incredible. Worth the money, service was great but it feels like walking into a tiktok. It wasn't cozy and the tables are very close to each other. It's kinda gross how the buckets are put on the ground so when someone put something in their bucket they have to get close to you.

Fab experience but not very filling was suggested what to order by very helpful staff. I spent around £45 ahead(just on food) you'd expect to leave with a full belly but unfortunately we had to stop at McDonald's after for some burgers. I had to rearrange the lobster myself to get the pic(don't bother me but might with others) this was the suggested portion for 3 came with a small bowl of rice

A wonderful culinary experience at Wow Crab! A huge thank you to Eleanor and Francine for their warm welcome, smiles, and enthusiasm. However, the customer service, especially from the manager "Jade," needs improvement. We felt like we were bothering them and were even harassed several times when she came in. Honestly, the only reason I'm not giving it five out of five is solely due to Jade's behavior. I hope things will be rectified. Best of luck to you.

Wow Crab truly lives up to its name! The food was super fresh, full of flavor, and perfectly seasoned. The portions are generous, and the service is friendly and fast. You can taste the love they put into the cooking. Absolutely recommended; I'll definitely be back!

WowCrab Amsterdam had a very nice atmosphere, an incredible selection of songs, the food was top standard, so tasty and flavourful. The drinks were very good, I would recommend the pornstar martini

The service was very friendly, and the location is great, right in the middle of all the shops in Amsterdam, so you have a beautiful view. I 100% recommend their homemade ice tea as a drink; it's super delicious. Wowcrab is truly the place to be; don't miss out!

Love this place, rushed over for our last night 30 min before close time and they refused to sear us, we’re just two people, we would’ve been in and out in 30min, everyone respecting everyones time. But just change your closing time to 21:30.

Food was ok, but not great. Did I sense the margarine instead of butter in the Cajun sauce? I hope I am wrong. The crab was fine, fresh. The "standard" boil ingredients are not freshly cooked, so the green shell mussles are like rubber. How can you spoil the green shell mussels in this manner, I don't get it. Shrimps are also overcooked. That happens when you precook your shellfish. I understand the plastic bag, the metal bucket under your table and plastic gloves, but there is so much trash produced, unnecessary. You can actually solve this in a more sustainable manner. American style dining is fine, but jeez, just make it enjoyable on all of the levels, we are still in Europe. 1. No tap water. 1 litre of mineral water is 10,- euros (that's 10x over the original price) 2. QR menus. Still you have to ask all questions personally, and then get your nose back into the phone. This is so cheap. 3. Not enough special cutlery. You are expected to SHARE your crab crackers with your party, like sit there and wait til your friend is done. 4. Way too loud music. 5. Personnel was bored and not loyal to their boss' policy on water (which I totally get, but hey, you don't want your personnel gossiping with customers, because these customers will never return). All this for a lunch of at minimum of 50,- euros (without alcohol).

We tried the Lobster, and it was good but moderate overall. The food was flavorful, the shrimp mussels though not quite the Cajun style we expected. Service and atmosphere were fine, but the experience was average.

The seafood at Wowcrab is fresh, but unfortunately it really lacks flavor and the meatiness is quite low compared to the high prices. On top of that, they weren’t responsive when I tried to reserve a spot, which was disappointing. Overall, the experience felt underwhelming for the cost, and I wouldn’t plan to visit again

A very strange establishment, it was of course interesting to pick at the food, which is dumped directly on the tablecloth without plates, with your hands, but we will definitely not come here again. I think that we are simply not the target audience of this restaurant 🙃

The trick is added extras can take the price up. Our order combo 2 with almost 70 Euro and then ended up paying 116 Euros . Never buy Thor mocktails as the flavors are bad and tooo sugary. Bad experience and overpriced

not the best experience for me, its to messy to eat like this imho, the prices are a bit on the tourist trap side, and the toilet was like a swimming pool, the seasoning sause is not the best and me and my date got an upset belly afterwards, room for improvement

The food was delicious and the staff was welcoming! The tables are quite close to eachother, which can feel a bit awkward, but I cannot expect something else from a restaurant in the city centre. To add, the drinks (ice tea) are very expensive for the amount you get :) In total, it was great!!

I decided to book this place intrigued by the fish menu, especially considering that in Amsterdam there is not much if you do not want to eat the usual burger. The place is very nice, it offers a menu with fish soup to share. The table is set with a paper tablecloth on which the fish is turned out. So you eat with gloves. We tried a portion of fried calamari, very good and shared a soup for 1-2 for €60 and it was really very filling. I recommend it!

Usually I’m not a review kind of person. Made a reservation for 3.30pm, went there and the whole place stunk like toilet. Tried to sit there but couldn’t take the smell and left. For a restaurant to smell like that is not acceptable!

Very disappointed from our arrival to our departure. Super rude waitress, terrible welcome. The website to view their menus was under maintenance. We waited almost 30 minutes without being able to see what we were going to order. Plus, there was a mistake in our order: crayfish instead of crab. A special experience, very good food at a fair price with good service.

The food is good, and the options are also good. You can choose from different sauces and create different combinations. However, the place has some issues. For example, the menu is only online, and the problem is that there are areas in the restaurant where you don't have internet access. So it can take a few minutes to view the menu. Please bring back physical menus and stop making them digital when the network is bad. On the other hand, not only is the menu online, you also have to order online, and that somewhat ruins the dining experience, at least for me. They also give you gloves to clean yourself, but for example, a sharing platter for four people only gives a minimal portion of rice and doesn't provide any cutlery, which I feel is necessary for rice. We arrived without a reservation and were sent to the corner of the place when it was empty.

The vibe was not it, staff was bored and disgusted, they got our order wrong (which you place on a website?), after waiting for the staff to notice me, the waitress came and took a picture, dont know how to feel about that. We had the combo for 2 with garlic butter sauce and lobster, which was very chewy and overcooked. The sauce was very yummy 12/10 as well the shrimps. For the price they could put more corn and potatoes, which were delicious as well. Overall nice food but experience not as nice.

Was a really cool experience. Food was delicious and the service was very helpful....the only downside I personally found were the crayfish (I think it was)...they tasted fine, but there was just very little meat on them...still 5 stars on all points because everything else was perfect! Best seafood boil in Amsterdam. It’s easier to book ahead so you’re not queuing for too long. Good portions and can book everything via app and then pay at the end. Highly recommend!

We love the Cajun flavor it’s was super delicious 😋 I still crave for it after coming back to states! The sauces are very well coated without too much of oil. We would definitely recommend this place. One of my favorite seafood restaurants in Amsterdam! 😍😍

We've been three times already, and we just love the seafood and the whole fingereating experience. We always order extra potatoes and corn. The large stone wall is the eyecatcher of the restaurant, but the rest could maybe do with a slight make over. All the same, the eating experience immediately overshadows any shortcomings in the decor. The staff are always friendly, very helpfull and always help us out by cracking the lobster, explaining stuff or swiftly getting us whatever we want. We will be visiting again coming weekend. I can't wait.
