Yerba in Museumkwartier

Food was delicious, but overpriced and a bit small with the expectation of a tasting menu in mind. I had: -The roasted fennel, which was a lovely surprise and something I'd love to try again -The bitterballen, which was nice, and much better than the other vegan bitterballen I found this trip, but didn't leave a strong impression -The spinach gnocchi, which was delicious, but I think I had about 4 gnocchi total. The gnocchi texture wasn't perfect, but the greens (which were more plentiful) was probably the best I've had and made up for it. -The white asparagus magnum, which was tasty, but didn't meet my expectation for the price -(a taste of) The lemon balm brownie, which was exceptional and delicious There was a secret extra dessert which was very appreciated and had a special ingredient which was exactly the sort of thing I'd hope for in a tasting menu Overall I'm happy with the experience but would be much happier at closer to 30euro pp than 50, or at 50 could use a little even-ing out. I would go again given some time for the menu to refresh It's worth mentioning that a vegan tasting menu is a standout thing in and of itself Thank you to the staff for accommodating on short notice

Disappointing food unfortunately (just honestly not so well cooked overall), but good drinks, awesome service and good sphere.

absolute disappointment, bad ingredients and super expensive

I’m not vegan neither vegetarian but I’m always open to new experiences. I really did not love the food of this place. Found it taste less for moments, or a bit bitter taste on some of the dishes. Or a courgette that didn’t even look cooked, and had zero taste. When you leave rest of food in each of the plates.. it must say something . The spinach gnocchis were the exception to this, as they were really good.

Extraordinary dessert, but some of the other dishes were bland and lacked flavor. Also the staff was not attentive at times and it took forever to get our drinks.

Wauw! De balans, textuur, explosie van smaken, vriendelijkeheid en enthousiasme van de gastheer en vrouw en het team in de keuken maken Yerba echt een beleving. Niet eerder kreeg ik de behoefte om de chef en het personeel te bedanken en gastvrouw een knuffel te geven voor de geweldige ervaring. Ik kijk al uit naar een volgende keer in een ander seizoen om te ervaren hoe dat seizoen gaat smaken.

Recently I had the pleasure of dining at Yerba, near Museumplein in Amsterdam. From the moment I stepped inside, I was captivated by the cozy ambiance and the friendly staff. The restaurant’s commitment to seasonal ingredients, innovative flavors and great wine pairings truly sets it apart. Yerba’s menu is a delightful exploration of flavors. Dank der vielen guten Empfehlungen über TripAdvisor, sind wir hier gelandet. Ich kann die positiven Bewertungen nur bestätigen. Sehr ausgefallene Küche, sehr geschmackvoll und hochwertig. 4 Gänge haben mir echt gereicht. Also unbedingt einmal ausprobieren!!!

The food was fine, but not special. The zucchini just too burnt, the gnocchi dry and generally less flavor than you would expect. Moreover, the portions were so small that we cooked at home afterwards. The service is friendly but does not explain every dish. The atmosphere also leaves much to be desired. We sat next to the door where it was quite drafty and the open kitchen was also noisy. In summary, it was definitely not worth the ~€130 for the two of us.

Drinks were very surprising and delicious, including a plum milkshake. Food is nothing special and the portions are quite small.

Great place for great soul food

Fantastic introduction! A bit inconvenient from Leeuwarden and not accessible to us in terms of budget. But I wouldn't have wanted to miss it. I'm happy that I can also cook well myself 😀

Delicious wine. And I'd rather eat dinner here than lunch. But if you have less adventurous dining companions, lunch here is a safe choice. And also super affordable. Just give me the evening menu; much more exciting.

Extremely delicious food, each course has about 4 different flavors, which are delicious separately but also together. Very good wine pairings and pleasant and hospitable service.

In a city with many truly amazing restaurants this one is unimpressive at best. The service wasn't very hospitable and the food mediocre. The space feels cramped and lacks the authentic charm you find in many Amsterdam buildings. We will not be returning

Delicious food and drinks. Reasonable prices and really great tasting vegan and gluten free food. The tomato yolk on the kimchi waffle was a work of art. Looked and flowed just like a regular egg yolk.

Great place for vegan fine dine. Specially celery schnitzel was perfect. The waiters explained all the dishes in detail and service was relatively quick.

Delicious food! The dessert in particular was surprising. It's very nice that you can choose which dishes you would like to receive if you choose less than 6 courses. The staging could be a bit neater.

Naar aanleiding van de zeer positieve recensie in de NRC uit 2018 zijn wij hier gaan eten. Leuke inrichting, gezellige sfeer en prettig personeel, het was er wel bloedheet. Helaas was het eten een teleurstelling, Weinig smaak en vaak een ondefinieerbare smaak. 1 gerecht daarentegen was dusdanig gekruid dat het alleen met gebruik van veel water te eten was. Verder zijn de hoeveelheden dusdanig klein dat alleen iemand met een maagverkleining kans maakt met een voldaan gevoel te vertrekken. Als voorbeeld, 1 gerecht had "forel" als bijlage en wat kreeg je? Een stukje makreel ter grootte van een kinderpink. De forel was op, kan gebeuren, maar als je op de site gewag maakt van een innige samenwerking met een visboer dan kun je toch wel iets beters verzinnen als de allergoedkoopste en niet passende vis, nl makreel?

Exceptional. Thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience here. The food was interesting, exciting and delicious! The service was fantastic too. No complaints and would highly recommend.

Nice vegan dining experience, the dishes I enjoyed the most were the pumpkin dumplings and the mushroom liquorice ice cream! They combine very interesting ingredients together and it works out perfectly. I have to say, the cauliflower dish did not impress me as it tasted a bit bland and you couldn’t really taste the miso in it, it was also way too much cauliflower which is too filling if you’re having several courses. The mushroom schnitzel dish felt a bit unfinished compared to the other dishes and it was also a bit burnt (maybe it’s supposed to be like that). The service was great, however, as mentioned in other reviews, some staff explained the dishes in detail and others didn’t, which seems a little inconsistent. Everybody working was incredibly friendly though! The atmosphere could be improved as it’s quite bright inside and the music was all over the place. Regardless of these points, we left quite happy and enjoyed our experience :)

Unfortunately, we found the food a bit disappointing for this price. It was fine, but for this price you would expect really tasty and culinary food. It's great that they have so many vegan options!

We had a great experience at Yerba. Interesting flavours and very friendly and helpful service. We especially loved the pumpkin capaletti as well as the rum baba dessert. Definitely worth a visit!

I am a vegetarian and my wife and I had a beautiful meal here with wine and multiple courses each better than the last. The service was welcoming and the atmosphere was cozy and hip. This was an instagram worthy meal and I will remember my evening fondly. Don't hesitate to visit, but do book a reservation. The food was very fresh and thoughtfully prepared.

We had a great time here to celebrate my partner’s birthday! Food was excellent with great tastes and combinations. Also, service was super kind and our waiter took the time each time to introduce us our next plate. I read a few comments about the noise inside of the restaurant. It could only happen if you have noisy people around you as the tables are quite close to each other. Apart of this, nothing to highlight apart of a great experience from the start to the end. Thank you!

Yerba is a high end restaurant at a mid-tier price with a relaxed vibe. The open kitchen let’s you see how the chefs prepare the amazing presentation and even better tasting food. The wine was perfectly paired with each dish, and the entire staff is super nice and so knowledgeable about the food and wine. Yerba is a must try!

I had both desserts on the menu when ordering the 5-course dinner: WHAT A DELIGHT! They were creative, perfect texture and combination - highly recommend the Dulce de Leche aubergine (yep, you read that right!). The restaurant setting, however, felt a bit off: menus were old paper and dirty, walls had many old holes in them and the pictures decor was off. Our seat on the wall bench was not very comfortable either for a 2h seating. Service was quite on point - they seemed to be understaffed, yet our dishes came out timely and -beautifully- presented (sometimes one server would explain the dish, sometimes another wouldn't). When a dish came with a spoon, the server let it fall inside the soup and did not react to our call to get a new spoon or help clean the handle of that one. The whipped vegan feta tasted a lot like coconut (like most vegan feta do), and that was disappointing for a nice restaurant like this. Finally, offering to "top up" the menu with meat defeats the purpose in my POV. Overall, I would probably not return unless some changes happen.

We have had a delicious and original plant based brunch in Yerba with many gluten free options. We loved everything we ordered and the waitress has been very attentive to us. We will definitely go back! *Advisable to book before going.

Allereerst vond ik de bediening erg vriendelijk! Bij het 6-gangenmenu waren we over sommige gerechten enthousiaster als bij de andere gerechten. Er hangt een gemoedelijke sfeer en wij voelde ons erg welkom. Wel zonde dat wij twee gasten naast ons hadden zitten die het gehele diner meer oog hadden voor hun grote, witte laptopschermen en meermaals aan het facetimen waren als voor de prachtige gerechten die jullie opdienden.

Excellent mostly vegan restaurant. The menu is entirely vegan but you can add meat or fish if desired. The wine pairing is also very good. The restaurant is on the noisy side - some extra acoustic design would be nice to have. The dishes are interesting combinations of flavours.

Food was amazing. Chef definitely knows his way around the kitchen. The menu card is a bit confusing tho. I think putting numbers next to the dishes would help avoid the confusion. Our orders got mixed up and there was a lot of back and forth conversations with the waitress and the chef. A big minus for the atmosphere which we could not enjoy due to unbelievably loud group from a next table. When we complained about the noise we were offered switching to another table with a comment that the noisy table is having fun and the restaurant cannot ask them to be more quiet. Shame that the ones who spoil the atmosphere can continue to have fun while the normal guests have to suffer or move around. Even tho the food is worth it, I will not visit this place again due to unfair customer approach.

One of the best spots in Amsterdam for some veg forward, chefs menu, delicious food paired with amazing wine and atmosphere. Also, get to know the owner/chef who has great stories to tell.

Great, and unexpected dishes with amazing flavor combinations! All waiters knew everything about the dishes as well as the matching wines, and could really explain the dish in front of you. The matching wines were unexpected and novel (a cider amongst them!) and really added to the dish. Great produce as well as great service and atmosphere. One of our highlights was the aubergine stewed in dulce de leche! Would definitely come again.

Been here for a few special occasions and it never disappoints. Delicious food and very filling. You can choose how many courses you get, and can also include a wine pairing. Very nice interior, not too noisy or crowded. I recommend booking ahead to make sure they can fit you in.

I first went to Yerba in 2019 and I found it great, it had an upscale vibe and everything was tasty! I went back recently and, unfortunately, it wasn’t as good as before. The restaurant was dead empty, inside it was super warm and stuffy and the food was a bit blend. Service was great though!

Wonderful food, service and atmosphere. A unique restaurant offering high quality vegan food at very reasonable prices. A tasting menu where you choose your dishes and if you do eat meat or fish you can add to some dishes.

So so. Some food was good and some wasn’t. Some very odd combinations that don’t always work well… (salty eggplant with ice cream?!) gnocchi and fried banana blossom were very tasty. Atmosphere was good.

Dinner here was totally mixed: high highs with a few lows, but on balance I think it was fine just not quite what I was hoping for. I was really looking forward to the creative vegan menu and it was good but a few of the dishes were not the same quality as the rest of the menu. Also we had multiple servers that ranged from excellent (knowledgeable, friendly, professional) to disappointing. The wine pairing was great and we were able to try a few new things so I would recommend trying it. The first half the meal was 5* but the second half was closer to 2.5.

Friendly service, casual setting 👍🏻 Food was hit and missed, some dishes i liked a lot some were just soso. Overall, i like it and the price was a course meal was very affordable. Great place for plant based foodies 💚
