Slightly overrated, fig cake good but almost salty with flavourless fruits on top, matcha just okay, nice space, good location.

Cute cafe with an amazing view and design. And prices are also reasonable

I’m giving them 5 stars only because I absolutely enjoyed the fig cheesecake and their matcha! Plus points for the vibes and the music in the cafe. My partner had the pain au chocolat and a cappuccino—she thought they were just okay, nothing special.

Really fair prices for the quality and freshness. One of the better matchas I’ve had in Amsterdam.

During my recent visit to Amsterdam, I came across a lovely café called YUSU, a favorite spot for lovers of specialty coffee and gourmet desserts. I was looking for a quiet place to enjoy a cup of coffee and a comfortable sitting area, and my visit to this café was a wonderful experience by all standards. I ordered a flat white, and it was exceptional in its balance of milk and coffee, demonstrating the barista's expertise and attention to detail. What attracted me most was the variety of cakes. I tried the chocolate and matcha cakes, and they were truly beyond expectations. The matcha cake was soft and rich in flavor with a perfect balance of sweetness, while the chocolate cake was wonderful with its soft texture and intense flavor. The place offers elegant indoor seating with a modern and calming décor, as well as pleasant outdoor seating for those who prefer to enjoy the fresh atmosphere of Amsterdam. What I also loved was the general relaxed atmosphere, making you feel like you're in a friendly and comfortable space away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The staff's hospitality was what made my experience even more special. They were extremely friendly and helpful, eager to fulfill orders with a smile and a positive attitude. They asked me for my opinion on the coffee and pastries, and it was clear that they value customer feedback to continually improve their experience. Honestly, I highly recommend YUSU to anyone visiting Amsterdam looking for high-quality coffee and delicious cakes in a relaxed atmosphere and excellent service. I will definitely return on my next visit and look forward to trying more from their distinguished menu.

Loved the place, the ambiance and the people working there. I have a hobby of visiting coffee places all over the place, but this one stands out for their kind service and good drinks. Will definitely come back! Would recommend!

They have some rush hours where it is very full at like 13:00-14:00. But otherwise very nice. Very good matcha with add ons and very good pastries

It was nice, really liked how many different matcha combinations they had: match ice cream, matcha latte, iced matcha with matcha ice cream etc 😀also a great selection of desserts that was still full around 2 pm! Matcha latte and coffee were quite good. Desserts were okay, matcha cake was mostly just sweet and tasted like very simple dough, cheesecake with figs was a bit sour and no pronounced taste but I must admit it was unusual and didn’t taste like other cheesecakes I ever tried. The service was slow, also a guy at the bar had no idea about coffee that they were selling, weird 😅 Don’t think I would want to come back but if you’re in the area, it’s a decent option.

We came here to break our fast, but the treatment we received was downright disrespectful. Everyone had to wait outside in the cold like a pack of dogs, while the doors only opened exactly one minute after iftar. This shows zero empathy for fasting guests. A little understanding and hospitality would be appropriate: let people in beforehand so that they can break their fast on time. Instead, the entire group was sent to the bar after entering to order food and then wait. This is absolutely not how iftar should be celebrated. It feels like the restaurant is purely capitalizing on Ramadan for profit, without any genuine involvement or respect for the religious experience.

had a matcha latte but it was quite mid. the cakes were better but nothing spectacular either. super full as well

The cakes here are really good, the fig cheese cake and pistachio basque were both great. The prices are also very good. No wonder there are always people queuing up at the counter.

I always come to YUSU for good matcha, the pastries are 2 die for and always SO unique! Ramadan Nights in 2024 was such a vibe, can’t wait to experience it again upcoming Saturday!

Absolute favourite. The staff is nothing less than a ray of sunshine on a rainy day (there’s a lot of those), and the menu is to die for. Always get the iced dirty chai or the good old cappuccino oat with a fig lime cheesecake, never get sick of it… OH and the pão de queijo

YUSU is a unique place to come together and meet the creative community in Amsterdam. The cappuccino is delicious with a nice design on it and the Matcha Guava was a next level experience. The cakes are delicious and the staff is very attentive. Highly recommended!

Your matcha is the best in Amsterdam in my opinion. Every time👌💚. Cold or warm, both great. In addition, regardless of whether or not there is a nice atmosphere where everyone feels welcome, including me and my children.

I’ve been here twice on separate occasions and have some thoughts. The staff are nice. This cafe is frequently busy and the service is also therefore a bit slow. Their drinks aren’t very special. Their coffee isn’t impressive and the last time I had matcha there, it was a little clumpy. Their redeeming factor however, is the baked goods. Their Pão de queijo is a unique, and tasty savoury snack at an appropriate price. It is also thoughtful that they heat it up for you. But my favourite is their orange coconut cake. So buttery and full of flavour. I’ve never had anything like it.

Absolute chaos on the weekend. Waited nearly 20 min for a small cappuccino to go on a Sundaya at 1pm even (surely not a rush time?!) Just not worth it. Never again ! :(

I really enjoy their drinks and cheese buns! I can’t really find good matcha in Europe, but this place is pretty decent and one of the better ones I’ve had outside of Japan. The staff are very friendly and the interior is cute, the only thing is that it can get sooo busy, which is fine but it’s a bit frustrating when you want to sit down and have your drink or food and half the places are taken up by people on their laptops who finished their drinks a while ago. I’m a student who also likes to go to cafes to study (with a laptop) don’t get me wrong, but when a place is clearly so busy with lines it’s really ridiculous to not have this regulated.

Had probably one of the nicest matchas here! Blended to a perfection, not too milky, not overheated, very creamy. It seems to be rather busy so not ideal place for some quiet time though very vibrant and ambient.

I've been coming here for months now and absolutely loved the toasted sandwiches and coffee. Unfortunately the toasted sandwiches have been changed and are simply not as good. Less ingredients and inferior bread... Make the toasted sandwiches great again! 🍞🧀🙏

I absolutely love the ambiance – it’s the perfect spot for a casual chat and hanging out with friends. The food and drinks are definitely worth the price (especially compared to most cafes in Amsterdam, it’s quite affordable). The matcha latte and latte macchiato were perfect for the cold weather. I really enjoyed the cream in the matcha cream cheese cake, though the matcha flavor didn’t quite meet my expectations. Still, it was delicious overall!

Everything tastes bland, the desserts are dry and stale and are left out to sit. The coffee is extremely overpriced for something that tastes bland as well. Always crowded and nowhere to sit. They never expand because they want to look busy. It's very annoying. Not worth the money at all, the experience is terrible.

Very busy and vibey cafe. Went on a Saturday around 11:00 and there wasn’t any space left to sit. Service was quick despite how busy it was. The selection of baked goods was not varied at all but the coffee was good. They didn’t have almond milk.

The service is okay, despite keeping up with the high demand, the staff still manages to be friendly. The acoustic is not the best as it can get very lousy. But that wouldn’t be a problem if you’re just ordering drinks to go. Loved their matcha drinks and fig/strawberry cakes!

This place has such a cool vibe. They have lots of sweet options. I went around 11:00 am and it was not super busy, so I order and got my food pretty fast. Have in mind that a bit later it became pretty busy. They have a couple of tables inside and outside.

This place is popular for a reason. Great selection of sweet treats and savory options. I had one of the weekly specials and I am still thinking of it days later. Coffee and chai are wonderful here.

This is definitely our new favorite cafe!! I love the matcha latte, it tasted a little bit different from other places. My husband also enjoyed his coffee which also had a distinctive taste. The toasts were delicious with a generous amount of cheese. The Pao de queijo was also delicious. We also enjoyed the cakes, they were not too sweet, just right. And consider everything we ordered, the price is reasonable! Would definitely come back!! 😁

Lovely place, friendly service and good coffee with a nice collection of sweet & savoury baked goods. Dog friendly too! As there's limited space to sit, I wish YUSU would be a place only to have coffee & chat rather than people working on their laptops. The toilets weren't very clean when I've used them and informed staff about it.

The food and drinks were great but there are not enough seats. It took us a long time to order and find a space to sit.

Sure, it's got that Instagram-friendly vibe with its chic decor, but it’s more than just a spot for photos. The energy is welcoming, and it has this laid-back charm that keeps me coming back. Yes, Yusu can get quite busy, especially during peak times, but it never feels overwhelming, and things seem to flow smoothly even when the place is full. The staff is consistently friendly and courteous, making you feel at home no matter how packed it gets. Sitting outside when the weather is nice is an added bonus, making it a pleasant spot to enjoy your coffee in the sunshine.

Always wanted to come here because Ive heard good stories. Unfortunately, service was so bad. I understand that the cafe is busy and crowded, and the staff can be stressed, but we didnt feel welcome at all, exactly the opposite. The coffee was sour, matcha was watery, hard to feel matcha taste. Cake was smushed.

Truly my number 1 favorite place for good coffee (and for a very reasonable price too)! Delicious pastries and good toasted sandwiches. Super nice people, both who work there and come there. Top spot.

hipster and overpriced. worst matcha ever. their matcha coco was a lie. on instagram it was kokoswater and a matcha foam but in real life it was watery matcha mixed with stale coconut water and its not sweet. its disgusting to say the least. sweet treats are nice but not enough for me to come back.

Due to the crowd, it might be a bit noisy to attend a meeting, but it’s a great place to focus while enjoying a delicious fig cheesecake and oat matcha latte with your headphones on 🍰☕️

This a very minimalist cafe with amazing coffee and a very chilled vibe. The flat white was perfect, and the pain au chocolat with white chocolate, blueberry, figs topping was also very delicious for an afternoon snack. Since the place was quite busy, there was a bit of a waiting time, but totally worth it. I can highly recommend it and will return for sure.

This place is one of my favorites for matcha! Hot and cold drinks are really good, as are the pastries. You can sit inside or outside, both is nice. Plus, the staff is absolutely sweet!

One of my favorite cafes in the area! Tip: go on a weekday between 9 am and 11 am, because it gets super busy, especially on weekends when there’s barely any seating indoors or outdoors The fig dessert is delicious—tarte filling paired with a not-so-sweet crust and sweet, fresh fig slices on top! Just a perfect flavor combination 😋 Loved the latte macchiato, and my friend had the matcha and said it was pretty decent as well. Staff were amazing and friendly too!
