It's really busy😅 but the coffee is bomb and the staff are super sweet!

The matcha latte was okay, but i love the matcha cake! The combination of the cream cheese on top balanced perfectly the sweetness of the cake, i can't stop munching 🤤 Latte art was top notch too!

Cozy place with amazing pastry and snacks. The chai latte is also very tasty. Friendly service, prices are moderate, much better than a popularized chain like Starbucks even though different concept. I will come here if I want to work somewhere enjoyable. Noise levels are intermediate / high. We came on Sunday around 16:30.

We had made reservations well in advance and were seated on wooden benches with no cushions or backrests. It felt like we were being squeezed in. The food was excellent, though, which more than made up for it.

Amazing place , but please get a glass with handles for hot drinks. Couldn’t drink my ginger tea without burning my hands and by the time I could, tea was cold.

Very cool shop. We were able to do some great people-watching, as the clientele was extremely stylish. Seating was limited, but we still managed to snag a cute spot by the window :) The yogurt for €6-7 was very good value and delicious! The coffee also came in a lovely cup with a great saucer and tasted great! We even got to take some stickers! 🤩 We'd definitely come back!

Service was very friendly with great atmosphere. The matcha and hojicha lattes tasted quite nice. Our favourite was the matcha cheesecake which was a generous portion, moist and had a nice matcha flavour. Would definitely revisit to try some other drinks and sweets.

Genuinely THE best coffee in Amsterdam!!!! And incredibly tasty snacks. It's beautifully decorated and the service is friendly. It's a shame the whole of the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences knows this too :) If you're in a hurry, it's not the place, but if you have time in the afternoon, it's definitely worth it.

A very pleasant coffee shop! It’s tucked a bit away from the center, so it isn’t overcrowded. There’s plenty of space inside, and outdoor seating as well. Friendly vibe, great for a relaxed visit. Highly recommended.

Top matcha and matcha drinks especially during summer, great Americano throughout the year and secret gem their amazing cakes (matcha cake and blueberry/raspeberry ones take the crown) Oftentimes very busy/full, so be prepared to ‘fight’ for a spot especially during prime time on the weekends

The place is very cozy, a great location to sit with a friend and enjoy a cup of coffee. There is a small area with a canal view which is great for soaking in some sun. The staff is very friendly and their matcha latte is great! Would definitely come back here.

Got an iced matcha with lychee soda and mango puree. This was a unique combo that worked really well. Also the matcha cookie has a good matcha flavour. There’s limited seating inside and a bit outside but I got takeaway. However, heading towards the metro there’s a little square with some benches that I went to drink it. They have amazing pastry options. Would def come again.

I’ve now tried 30+ cafes in Amsterdam and Yusu is still my #1 favorite. Consistently great coffee, good vibes, and incredible pastries/desserts. Seating can be limited and there is often a wait to order, but I Yusu is still well worth the visit and I consistently go well out of my way to come here.

Delicious coffee and drinks, incredible pastries (made in-house!), ENTIRE staff is so kind and friendly. How busy they are is a testament to how worth it it is to come here :) My favorite place to grab a coffee to-go or sit and work in Oost.

Very well-executed flat white and excellent banana bread. Despite the cozy and pleasant interior, the welcome wasn't warm and the staff wasn't very friendly. Also, a waitress cleared our plate and brought our second round of flat white... even though we hadn't finished our banana bread. Surprising!

The toast was okay, but the cake was left out of the fridge and was a bit melted. The matcha had little actual matcha flavor which tasted mostly of milk with a grassy note. The place was also too crowded, with barely any seating available.

My friend told me about this place and it was really good. I had a matcha swirl and a cappuccino to go though the cafe itself looks really cute. I would definitely come back with friends to try more desserts as they all looked delicious. They have a matcha cookie as well, looking forward to trying it. Looks very chonky. At 11 there was a small line but moves fast. Staff is very kind.

The hotel staff recommended this place for matcha (the matcha latte didn't disappoint). The cakes offered were very good, but I personally didn't enjoy the espresso very much. The atmosphere was quiet and welcoming. Recommended.

Tried matcha at a bunch of places, but this one really stood out 🌿 Cake was so soft and moist seriously good. A bit crowded, had to wait in line, but honestly worth it. 100% coming back when I’m in Ams again!

The food and drinks were great but there are not enough seats. It took us a long time to order and find a space to sit.

The matcha and hojicha were delicious and well done, really cool desserts with a good variety. The espresso was bad. Overall a very nice and cute place.

Place looks hip and cool. Nice design, didn't try the cakes, but they looked good. The espresso though wasn't really good at all. It's a sad thing coffee places can't pull of a good espresso. I guess that shows in the review skew. Since most of them order milk based coffees.

A coffee shop near UvA, with a comfortable environment and laptops. The matcha is delicious and the fig cheesecake is also delicious. The price is cheaper than other coffee shops in Amsterdam. You need to wait for a seat most of the time, sometimes you have to wait for 20 minutes

The iced Houjicha Latte that I had was super good.

I’ve been here various times and it’s always great. Unfortunately I had a really bad experience recently when they gave me whole milk rather than oat milk in my drink. I’m allergic to milk and I was sick for two days after. It’s unfortunate because I always enjoy their food and drinks and I hate to have the experience ruined. It was very likely a miss communication but nonetheless still very dangerous.

Can't say much about this place. Came around 3 on a weekday afternoon and the place is crowded with lots of people on laptops, definitely not a nice place to chill. As someone who does her own matcha latte. Ice guava matcha lacked matcha taste and guava. I wouldn't come back for their matcha, this is the first time I'm trying Matcha in amsterdam, i definitely had better.

Nice vibe and friendly staff. We ordered two cups of pure matcha. However, one was rich while the other was quite weak and watery. Just a bit of inconsistency in the drinks but the fig lime pie is nice.

Love Yusu! One thing i always notice everytime i come is that the owners never smile 🙃 i guess if you’re not a “somebody”, they just don’t care lol. The rest of the staff are very friendly though. I’m a big fan of their pão de queijo. I tried their chicken empanada and it was disappointing. It tasted spoilt and the chicken and veggies inside had no taste at all. Love their drinks with taro ice cream though!

Matcha and cake was great, however I waited 20 minutes for my Macha that never came. I kindly asked the stuff about it and reminded them. The guy said he will prepare it right now and that he’s sorry. Well, he never done it and I had to remind them again after another 10 minutes. When I did that, the girl working there had kind of attitude, I didn’t hear sorry or anything, she prepared my drink and gave it to me with an attitude. It’s not the best how you treat clients, especially when I waited 30 minutes and had to remind you twice about my order. I still remained kind, some of the clients wouldn’t be this patient 😅 and oh, it wasn’t busy…

Coming back to Amsterdam after a few years away its amazing how this neighborhood has changed. Yusu is a symbol of that. Busy, buzzing place with international people. Bit of a wait because its so busy but good coffee and friendly service.

Amazing sweet cafe. For once the matcha drinks really do taste like matcha and not like milk. Downside is pastries are quite expensive - though very good it’s a bit a shame. Also a bit annoying that you can only stamp your fidelity card if you get a drink …

Very fine establishment! The vibe is cozy, and can be enthusiastic. Their specialty coffee is of high quality, and I've been told their matcha is excellent as well. On Saturdays, it can be crowded, but even during peak periods, the staff remains very friendly.

The place has great cakes, service and coffee. I hate it though that in Amsterdam you can’t really enjoy your coffee in a coffeeplace in a peaceful and enjoyable (!) way. This place is SO small and offers seatings for 25-30 people (I counted!) - it is therefore EXTREMELY loud inside and I couldn’t hear my own words and the ones of my friend. It is not a comfy place at all and either you reduce the seating options, so that people can actually breathe and relax or you add some sound absorbing panels or something cause this was a torture. In addition, the squeaky entrance door is frequently being opened for service purposes but also left open by an impressive amount of people who just don’t close it after entering - which makes the stay even more annoying and kinda stressful. I need a break after this.

The matcha coconut float is nice but I expected a stronger matcha flavour.

Cake was good. Staff nice. But the iced matcha… Bitter, lumpy, watery, not enough ice. Actually impossible to eat.

Interesting and hip place for coffee. Quite popular so might be you will have to wait for a spot. The chocolate cake was incredibly good. I’m not fan of sweets but the cake was delicious. Coffee and cake was 8 euros which is very cheap for Amsterdam. The only downside is laptopers holding place. At least 10 spots were take by laptopers who had one coffee and sat there for hours.

During my recent visit to Amsterdam, I came across a lovely café called YUSU, a favorite spot for lovers of specialty coffee and gourmet desserts. I ordered a flat white, and it was exceptional in its balance of milk and coffee, demonstrating the barista's expertise and attention to detail. What attracted me most was the variety of cakes. I tried the chocolate and matcha cakes, and they were truly beyond expectations. The matcha cake was soft and rich in flavor with a perfect balance of sweetness, while the chocolate cake was wonderful with its soft texture and intense flavor. The place offers elegant indoor seating with a modern and calming décor, as well as pleasant outdoor seating for those who prefer to enjoy the fresh atmosphere of Amsterdam. What I also loved was the general relaxed atmosphere, making you feel like you're in a friendly and comfortable space away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The staff's hospitality was what made my experience even more special. They were extremely friendly and helpful, eager to fulfill orders with a smile and a positive attitude. They asked me for my opinion on the coffee and pastries, and it was clear that they value customer feedback to continually improve their experience. Honestly, I highly recommend YUSU to anyone visiting Amsterdam looking for high-quality coffee and delicious cakes in a relaxed atmosphere and excellent service. They have some rush hours where it is very full at like 13:00-14:00. But otherwise very nice. Very good matcha with add ons and very good pastries

It was nice, really liked how many different matcha combinations they had: match ice cream, matcha latte, iced matcha with matcha ice cream etc 😀also a great selection of desserts that was still full around 2 pm! Matcha latte and coffee were quite good. Desserts were okay, matcha cake was mostly just sweet and tasted like very simple dough, cheesecake with figs was a bit sour and no pronounced taste but I must admit it was unusual and didn’t taste like other cheesecakes I ever tried. The service was slow, also a guy at the bar had no idea about coffee that they were selling, weird 😅 Don’t think I would want to come back but if you’re in the area, it’s a decent option.

We came here to break our fast, but the treatment we received was downright disrespectful. Everyone had to wait outside in the cold like a pack of dogs, while the doors only opened exactly one minute after iftar. This shows zero empathy for fasting guests. A little understanding and hospitality would be appropriate: let people in beforehand so that they can break their fast on time. Instead, the entire group was sent to the bar after entering to order food and then wait. This is absolutely not how iftar should be celebrated. It feels like the restaurant is purely capitalizing on Ramadan for profit, without any genuine involvement or respect for the religious experience.

The cakes here are really good, the fig cheese cake and pistachio basque were both great. The prices are also very good. No wonder there are always people queuing up at the counter.
