Authentic and delicious middle eastern food - find a bike and head out to this place! The people running the restaurant are fantastic as well: very friendly and great food recommendations.

The average of the reviews really says it all. If you think you know what good kebab tastes like, then you haven't been here yet. Taste, texture, smell. Everything is perfect. The most delicious (including vegetarian) other dishes, sauces, and drinks. Let your curiosity for the unknown guide you. Another highlight is the delicious homemade flat pull-apart bread from the wood-fired oven with sesame seeds and a little oil to soak up the sauces. You simply can't stop. What remains is the warm and wonderful hospitality. Michelin would say: worth a detour. A place we are going to take other people to.

I had a mixed grill here. The food was tasty, but to be honest, I’ve had better. The portions were fine and everything was well prepared. The atmosphere in the restaurant was pleasant and the service was friendly and prompt. I was there at a quiet time, so I can't really judge what it's like when it's busy. All in all, a fine experience, but not necessarily a place that really stands out for me.

What an amazing experience! I ate the best hummus I have ever tasted here: deliciously creamy, full of flavor, and prepared with so much care. But the kebab was also truly exceptional — juicy, perfectly seasoned, and perhaps the best kebab I have ever eaten. You can taste the quality and the passion in every dish. It really must also be said that the pleasant atmosphere we felt there and the nice people working there added something extra. Highly recommended for anyone who loves good food. I will definitely be back!

Unfortunately, my experience at this restaurant was disappointing. The hygiene leaves much to be desired: there were dirty tablecloths and the glasses were not clean. The staff and management should pay more attention to the cleanliness and maintenance of the establishment. Additionally, I did not find the food very tasty and it did not meet my expectations. I was therefore surprised by the large number of positive reviews, as my experience was completely different from what I had expected based on the reviews. For these reasons, I unfortunately cannot recommend this restaurant for dining.

The best kebab’s we have had in Amsterdam. The service was lovely and warm but most importantly the food was delicious. We ordered the kebab zaffran and kebab lamb, both were juicy and grilled to perfection. The lemon mint drink was also a highlight.

Honestly, this restaurant deserves five stars. The food is delicious and has an authentic Iraqi flavor. The grilled meats were beautifully prepared and tasty, and the bread was hot and fresh. The service is excellent; the staff are respectful and greet customers with a smile. The place is clean and tidy, and the atmosphere is comfortable. It's one of the best Iraqi restaurants I've tried in Amsterdam, and hopefully, it won't be my last visit. May God bless them and grant them success. ★★★★★

We had made a reservation but no table was ready. We weren't allowed to sit inside but had to go to the bay window. It was incredibly noisy. I didn't really feel welcome. I had read good reviews but the food was disappointing. I had pointed out saffron rice on the menu but received different rice. I didn't like it. Because it suddenly got very busy, I asked someone a few times but unfortunately no one had time. By the time the meat ran out, someone came to ask what was wrong. They did offer to serve the rice after all, but I didn't want it anymore. I didn't have to pay for it either. A shame, I had high expectations.

We're a regular because you always can expect a delicious food plus friendly service. We adore the crispy welcome bread and hummus. Go for Zaffraan kebab! Absolutely delicious!

Authentic Iraqi food and desserts, the taste overall was excellent, and one of few halal restaurants that don’t serve alcohol, which gives peace of mind while eating. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly, and they serve respectable portions to the price, making it a must visit for anyone nearby or anyone that crosses paths with this place.

I stayed in Amsterdam for 6 days and the most delicious food I tried was saffron Restaurant. They have 100% halal food their Iraqis kabab is very delicious beside other dishes. Nice location with available parking and amazing restaurant atmosphere, friendly and welcoming staff. Definitely coming again.

Honestly, everything was wonderful. We entered the place, and there were two of us. We wanted to sit by the window, and he told us that this table could accommodate eight people, and someone more than us might come. He understood that we wanted to sit by the window and let us sit. The food was more than wonderful, honestly, it was like home-cooked food and had a lovely taste. The girl who was there was very kind and respectful. Honestly, the whole place was lovely and deserves five stars.

The service took a little time before the staff came to take our order, but once the food arrived, everything was absolutely delicious. The Qozi Lamb had a unique, rich flavour and was incredibly tender, even though the portion of rice was a bit small. The Iraqi Kabab was outstanding, full of flavour and perfectly cooked. The restaurant has a very authentic atmosphere that truly makes you feel as if you’re sitting in Damascus, Syria. It’s calm, clean, and tidy, with beautiful Arabic music playing in the background, which adds to the experience. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who enjoys Middle Eastern cuisine or wants to try it for the first time. A wonderful and authentic dining experience.

Ordered muhammara, lamb skewer and a pot of black tea. Muhammara smelled slightly of something rotten. The meat was dry, unsalted, and although the menu claims it's marinated, I noticed no flavour or texture enhancements that come from marinating the meat before grilling. The tea was good, though, and the freshly baked flat brad was delicious — that deserves an extra star. Overall experience is something I don't want to repeat.

I ate here for the first time yesterday on the recommendation of a colleague. No regrets, the food was delicious and everything was really super tasty and well-seasoned. I have to admit that the saffron kebab is much tastier than the Turkish adana! Furthermore, the service was very friendly and the toilets are super clean too, which says a lot! I will definitely be back here.

Having enjoyed Zaffran in the past, today’s visit was deeply frustrating. The main issues were the excessive wait times and a complete lack of basic table service. We were served our meal without cutlery, and even after escalating the issue to management, the service for our additional orders remained subpar. It was a very poor experience overall.

A week ago, we dined at Zfraan restaurant, but unfortunately, our experience was not positive 😕 We ordered two Spa Blue, lentil soup, kibbeh tarabouls, a lamb kebab, and a medium mixed grill with rice 🍽️ To our surprise, everything was served at the same time, whereas normally you get the starter first. My boyfriend pointed this out to the staff. At one point, a staff member came over and indicated that it could be sent back, but that is obviously not ideal – the food gets cold quickly, and that is simply not how it is supposed to be. When we started on the main course later, it took longer to be served, and the food was also not warm enough. We had to ask different waiters for rice multiple times, and by the time we received it, my mixed grill was almost finished. Unfortunately, the rice itself was cold as well. When paying the bill, they asked if the food was tasty, but my experience was already clear by then. Upon arriving home, I had a cola, and later that night, my boyfriend became very ill. He suffered from severe heartburn and vomited. He felt very unwell, and all in all, this was a very disappointing experience for us.

This is not just any steakhouse. The flavors of the various dishes we tasted each offered a unique experience. The cooking follows old family traditions, using special and refined spices. Highly recommended – and not expensive at all for what you get. Also, be sure not to forget the homemade garlic bread. Delicious.

The atmosphere was great, but the kebab arrived burnt on top and undercooked inside, still reddish in color. The lamb shank was old and had been reheated in the microwave. The owner, Abu Ahmed, and his staff were very kind and friendly.

As an Iraqi, I can say that it is truly authentic and super tasty. Fair price, tender meat, and the traditional kebab and quzi are highly recommended. The mezas are always amazing and the service is top-notch. Nothing to complain about.

Cozy family atmosphere, friendly service, food super tasty straight from the charcoal grill, delicious homemade lemonade. We had the spareribs, half chicken, and skewers; so tender and everything is fresh. Unfortunately, only photos of empty plates. The hot starters were also tasty, with a nice dip on the side.

The staff is really friendly. As for the food, we really liked the bread and Baba ganoush, Moroccan tea is also nice. But the main dish was not as tasty as I expected. We took Riach - lamb chops. They turned out to have more fat than meat 😔

Ridiculous price for coming to eat a piece of cake. The price was not announced, I did not ask but you expect a maximum of 7.50, no, it cost 9.95. The price is well above average. X 4 with coffee, well, do the math, I was shocked at the checkout. 4 coffees with 4 cakes, I paid just under €55.

Foodwise we ordered mainly mix grill big plates, which is enough to share for 2 ppl if you are not crazy hungry and quouzi with soup ! The unlimited fresh baked bread/pita is the best and the authentic proof for a Middle Eastern restaurant: ) Warning: there is no alcohol drinks hhhhh we found out last minute. The house drinks are like ice smoothies, a bit sweet IMO. We had a wonderful dinner with the beautiful balcony view. Cozy and warm

For Iraqi BBQ and other authentic dishes, you absolutely must go to Zaffraan. Here you'll experience Iraqi hospitality as it should be. His lamb kebab (ground meat skewers) is wonderfully tender and served with delicious fresh, warm naan bread—the best kebab skewers in the Netherlands! The appetizers are also highly recommended. Small portions of cold appetizers with warm naan bread are served complimentary. Iraqi tea is also served complimentary after your meal! A truly Iraqi experience!
