Restaurant Zeezout is an experience of taste, atmosphere, and service. The staff is incredibly sweet and friendly, and the food is exquisite. We have been coming here for years with great pleasure.

Amazing! The food was formidable. The service was great. I have never eaten so well.

The staff is truly fantastic. So sweet yet still professional. Had a nice chat and laugh with them. They listened incredibly well to our allergies and provided fun, creative options. The food is truly on another level; the combinations and flavors are incredibly delicious, everything comes into its own. We even received an extra dish for my boyfriend's birthday. Incredibly sweet and nice. One point of criticism: the wines weren't fantastic; the first two wines with the menu were very superficial. Also, the glasses weren't poured immediately; some were fuller than others, and they were quite stingy. However, the explanation of the wines was really excellent. I really want to go back again because the food is truly so good.

A truly perfect experience. Refined dishes, fish only. Every course was executed very well, with full flavors and beautiful presentation. The service was good and not too formal, which created a carefree atmosphere. Also friandises will come with a small surprise, so make sure to stay a bit longer for coffee or tea. I can highly recommend this restaurant. Make sure to reserve in advance, as weekend spots fill up very quickly.

Zeezout really exceeded my expectations. Everything that comes from the sea here is spot-on fresh. I had the shrimp croquettes and they were the best I have ever eaten, and the cod was perfectly cooked. The staff is friendly and helpful when choosing wine. The interior is maritime but not too busy. You are happy to pay for such quality. Definitely recommended if you love good fish!

We had the six-course menu. It was a lovely evening at this family-run restaurant. The only thing we didn't understand was why the cardboard boxes for the glasses were placed on the outside of the table with the cutlery, etc. We think there's room for improvement there. ;)

What a fantastic experience at this establishment on the Westerkade. Everything was perfect down to the last detail. The presentation is truly unique. I was particularly surprised by the dish served in an egg carton, a very creative detail that immediately caught my eye. The flavors of the various courses were also refined and balanced. We thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and the attention to quality. Highly recommended for anyone who loves unique and honest food.

I had wanted to dine here for years, so it would have been quite painful if it had turned out to be a disappointment. But my expectations were fully met! The service ensures a friendly welcome and guides you through the evening in a professional yet relaxed manner. The chef's 6-course surprise menu was fantastic, and I won't give anything away about that. The oysters as a starter are also a nice plus, and they were of top quality. The sommelier's wine pairing was also very strong. It is a beautiful place inside as well, but sitting outside is lovely too. We will definitely be back!

One of my favourite Michelin-starred dining experiences in the Netherlands so far. The lunch menu was excellent value for money, The dessert was amazing. It was honestly on par with the desserts I had in Paris. The staff were all so warm, friendly, and welcoming. They made me feel comfortable from the moment I arrived！ I came alone and had such a lovely time. I would definitely love to come back and try more dishes in the future. Thank you (*^▽^*)

What an amazing experience. It’s a true family business and you notice that in all aspects. The hostesses are so welcoming and very down to earth for a Michelin star restaurant. All courses contain different species of fish or seafood presented in a unique and interesting manner. Also the coffee contains an amazing suprise so do not forget to get a coffee (or tea) so you don’t miss out! All in all 5/5.

We came here for dinner and chose the six-course menu. I can honestly say everything was incredibly fresh and absolutely delicious. I completely fell in love with the dish in the second photo. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to feel like they’re eating heaven on a plate.

Another fantastic lunch, everything is perfect: food, service, and atmosphere. Rotterdam's two-star restaurants should keep an eye on things.

Zeezout fully lives up to its Michelin-star reputation. The seafood was exceptional, impeccably fresh, beautifully prepared, and full of flavour. Service was polished and professional, and the overall standard of cooking is clearly Michelin-level. One point worth noting: we were seated at the front with no view, and as people walked by, the floor vibrations were noticeable and somewhat distracting and annoying. At this level, this is something the restaurant really should address, as comfort and ambience matter just as much as the food. It did leave us wondering whether a table for three is less preferred. Despite that, the quality of the cuisine is outstanding and I would absolutely recommend Zeezout, just request seating away from the front.

One of the finest restaurants I have been to. Delicious food, friendly service, and atmosphere.

Came here for lunch and had the five-course menu, it was absolutely delicious. I especially loved the little surprise at the beginning with the egg; such a creative touch! The onion mayonnaise dip with the Turkish bread was fantastic, and every course that followed was well done. The dessert at the end was also lovely. I had some Invisalign issues and needed to finish the meal a bit quicker than usual, and after I mentioned it to the staff, they adjusted the pacing perfectly. I managed to enjoy all five courses in about an hour and fifteen minutes, which was really thoughtful and efficient. Overall, very happy experience here, and the service was spotless.

Stopped by Restaurant Zeezout on a sunny day, which was perfect because the terrace is the place to be. Great spot to watch the world go by while pretending you’re a local with far too much free time. Staff were friendly and present when you needed them. No mysterious disappearing acts mid-meal. They managed that fine balance of being attentive without hovering like a helicopter parent. We came for lunch and the food was beautifully presented, clearly trying to impress Instagram as much as our taste buds. Luckily it tasted good too—so not just all show. Portions leaned more toward “refined” than “generous,” but at least you won’t roll out of here regretting life choices. If you’re after a polished lunch with nice views and good service, this is a safe bet. Price-wise, it’s not “cheap lunch special” territory, but you can see where your money went.

Simply perfect. My expectations going in weren’t the highest, the atmosphere from the first look didn’t give the best impression, however once the meals started coming in everything has changed. The fish quality was incredible. The balance they managed to reach was impressive. And not a single course left me questioning whether this restaurant is worth a Michelin star. And the crème brûlée… I cannot believe I had the best crème brûlée of my life (especially considering the presentation, will not spoil the surprise ;)). Without a question will come again.

That was a truly special surprise. What amazing creativity. A truly fantastic experience. It reminded me of the old Zwetheul, but much more accessible.

El servicio es muy bueno. Nuestra única crítica sería que las mesas están demasiado juntas, y el restaurante es muy ruidoso cuando está lleno. Claramente tener menos tapas afectaría el costo, pero la densidad es mayor que cualquiera que podamos recordar en un restaurante con estrella Michelin.

What a gem 💎. Zeezout had been on my wish list for a very long time and finally became a reality; with a deal from Heerlijk, we paid 20% less per cover for the 4-course lunch. We were well received and had delicious fish. The hostess is fantastic and knows how to create a good, cozy, and familiar atmosphere. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. The dishes were phenomenal, and we are already looking forward to coming back sometime. The oysters 🦪 were also fantastic (so delicious that we had finished them before we could take a picture). They have three different varieties and we turned them into a tasting. The amuse-bouche was a tasty bite, and there was also freshly baked bread with the courses. Upon arrival, a Turkish tear-off bread followed by a delicious baked bun. For the first course, a Tuna spring roll 2.0, followed by salmon with various artichoke preparations, then a delicious cod with pork 🐽 and a tasty dessert with honey as the main ingredient. The friandises were also surprising: a kind of lemon tart in a cup, and a hidden crème brûlée under the coffee cup! It was delicious! Definitely worth repeating.

Gezellig met het gezin gegeten bij Zeezout, stond al een tijdje op ons verlanglijstje. Een fijne ronde tafel met vijf. Begonnen met een glaasje mooie champagne. Klein minpuntje is dat deze ingeschonken werd in wijnglazen, maar de smaak was prima. Vanaf de amuse waren de 6 gerechten zeer smaakvol en heel goed gevarieerd. Best lastig omdat we geen vlees eten. Vooral de tonijn en de dorade was met de bijpassende smaken heerlijk. Het wasabi ijs was een aangename verrassing. Ook de kabeljauw was zeer smaakvol. De variatie qua vis had wel iets beter gekund, de geserveerde visgerechten waren qua vis te voorspelbaar, maar dat werd gecompenseerd door de bijgerechten en sausen/schuim. De kaas was prima maar sla ik de volgende keer over. Was wat buiten de smaken van de andere gerechten. Het dessert was weer voortreffelijk, lekkere combinaties van zoet en een beetje zuur. Koffie als afsluiting maakte de avond compleet. Ondanks een paar opmerkingen was de algemene indruk van ons allen zeer positief, zeker een van de betere restaurants waar we gegeten hebben. Tot slot nog een compliment voor de bediening, vriendelijk en accuraat en een tip: doe het water als arrangement, hoeft de bediening niet steeds te vragen of ze nog een fles open mogen maken.

Qué noche fabulosa, pescado maravillosamente cocinado (mi hija y yo tuvimos el menú degustación de 5 platos) y buena selección de vino, algunos a un precio muy razonable. Ellos amablemente crearon el menú para nosotros en torno a nuestra aversión de las ostras y la preferencia por el queso sobre el postre. Todo el personal era encantador y hablador y nos hizo sentir muy bienvenidos. Quedamos encantados con los platos de anguila, fletán, bacalao y lubina (comimos mucho pescado pero todo perfectamente proporcionado) y nos encantó la divertida bolsa de mousse de gambas. Vale la pena volver a Rotterdam muy pronto!

Chic little restaurant with an open kitchen. Service team charming and casual. Food well prepared and tasted wonderful. Great surprise with the espresso, because there is a small portion of creme brulee at the bottom of the saucer. Suitable wine accompaniment.

Cené aquí solo el mes pasado y fui bien atendido, ya que disfruté de la elección del chef menú de 4 platos (además no podía resistir un par de ostras). Comida bien presentada que era deliciosa, mis platos favoritos fueron el Ling con espuma Massaman, y el postre Snickers. También disfruté de un par de copas de vino recomendadas por el sumiller.

It had been years since I had been here, but it was still high on my list. On a corner, in perhaps the most beautiful neighborhood of Rotterdam, with a view of the Maas, you will find very attractively decorated Zeezout. The weather did not allow us to sit on the terrace, but inside is certainly not a problem either. We received an extremely friendly welcome and the atmosphere is friendly. We opted for the chef's 3-course surprise menu without dessert. But the dishes were so delicious and sublime. Beautiful flavors and beautifully presented plates come from the small open kitchen. The new sommelier gave a nice explanation of the, upon request, purely white wine arrangement. Delicious, special and not obvious choices that matched the dishes fantastically. We were so excited that we decided to have dessert and it was more than worth it... and then coffee. I'm not going to reveal it, but even there they manage to put a great twist on it. I'm a fan... instantly!

A really great lunch experience

Het was alweer wat jaartjes geleden dat we in deze leuke zaak aan de Westerkade waren geweest. Toen we een locatie zochten voor een serieuze lunch met vrienden kwam de gedachte aan Zeezout spontaan op. En het was gelukkig nog als vanouds. Volle zaak, leuke en voorkomende bediening en natuurlijk geweldig eten. We hadden het vier gangen menu, hetgeen uitstekend uitpakte. Drie mooie gangen met vis en een uitstekend kaasplankje. En dan ben ik de erg lekkere amuse en het brood met smeersels nog vergeten. De drie visgangen waren hoog op smaak en bijzonder. Als er dan toch een klein kritiekpuntje genoemd moet worden is het dat twee van de gerechten wel een beetje "dulle" vis hadden maar natuurlijk wel uitstekend bereid. Heerlijke wijn en zeer goede koffie. Alles bij elkaar een geweldige zaterdagmiddag en zeer tevreden gasten. Wij komen snel weer terug!

First of all, I thought it was a relief to not only find very young people in the ministry. The relaxed team did a great job in my opinion from welcome to farewell. The price-quality ratio of the food and drinks is very good at Zeezout. The ambiance is also neat, tasteful and trendy. The excellent champagne and wine served with the dishes were excellent. The dishes were very well prepared, refined and well seasoned. For me, the marinated swordfish and the barbecued prawns were the highlights of the evening. There was nothing wrong with the rest either, but they were a bit more rustic. In my opinion, a little more attention could be paid to the refinement of the dessert, although the complete surprise with the coffee made up for everything. I'm not going to reveal that, but Zeezout is worth a visit for that alone. So I really enjoyed it!
