The food was good, but it took a little while sometimes. And the atmosphere is great too.

The worst place with the worst service. We were treated like second-class people; they didn’t even give us menus. I do not recommend it.

Today we had high tea with a group. We informed them of our allergies beforehand, and everything they brought was allergy-free. Everything was delicious, and the staff was friendly and helpful. Fantastic!

I had a great evening at Zeldzaam, the food is really tasty, the staff is friendly, there is a nice atmosphere and for dessert I would choose the arretjescake, which is highly recommended.

Cozy and tasty, but better not order a homemade meatball because it is served without garnish in a bowl floating in the gravy so that it falls apart when you want to stick it on your fork and is accompanied by 2 slices of simple brown bread. Not worth €12,- and nothing is done with feedback by the staff and management.

Way too busy and noisy upstairs on King's Day, food took too long, service was also terrible, everything just took too long. Not to mention staff shortages, but incompetence at its finest. Staff were also noisy and made a lot of noise. Steak was completely dried out probably under the hatch for too long.

Rare is worthy of its name! Good food and a waitress that is certainly rare. She (helped) make our evening, for which we thank you!!

Had a rare experience. After arrival, put away somewhere in the walk from the kitchen to the restaurant. We have seen tables and chairs pass by our food. Unsympathetic and very busy staff, there was no time to sit quietly. Then the food... I got a warmed up satay with a bowl of pickles that had been sitting there for a while, so the pickle had already gone. Nothing else (atjar, etc.) a bowl of fries and that was it (€20!!!) My wife had a steak salad that was not good, the steak was gray and inedible. After these disgusting meals we left. But here it comes... After 4 hours we both had stomach problems, with the result that we were both sick on Saturday evening and vomiting all day on Sunday. The 1 star they get is for the rosé and the coke. I believe that it is a very quick grab in 2 hours (there were 2 shifts) it is also a cafe/brasserie. So I say keep it at this.

Had a high wine at Raeldzaam today in honor of our 20th wedding anniversary. What a nice welcome! Our specific table was set and reserved. Cava in advance and then two white and two red (pretty good wine!!), both served with delicious dishes, oysters, truffle soup, salmon/tuna tartare, steak and a piece of salmon. Dessert of everything, sweet and savory with a delicious dessert wine. Highly recommended!! Doing!! We had a nice boy as host. That really makes it complete and finished 😁. Keep it up Rare!

Nasty words were said to me after I laid my broken leg to rest on a chair, things were said like why do you put your leg on the chair, you don't do that at home and then she made even more comments about my leg, which made me uncomfortable. made, anti-social tent, unfriendly staff.

Had a delicious meal and drinks with my friends. Friendly staff and since we were there for hours we got a drink on the house at the end! We will come again soon :)

Really tasty food, but not enough attention for the customer. It is especially a long wait for the drinks. The kitchen is well organized. The oysters were good, especially the oriental. You can safely order the tenderloin with sambal gravy and the sea bass.

Review for Rare - 2 stars I come to Raeldzaam occasionally and have always been satisfied so far. That is why I give the 'service' and 'atmosphere' a symbolic second and third star for this review. Especially when it is busy, Raeldzaam is good at handling the crowds. But last Monday evening things were different, even though it was quieter. I had arranged to meet two friends for a nice drink, but unfortunately I was very disappointed in the service, service and quality of that evening. Upon arrival I received my first coffee quite quickly, but after that things went less smoothly. My girlfriend even had to walk to the bar to ask if we could order something, because we were not helped. The people next to us also noticed this. The large snack board was well stocked, except for the nachos. The chips were very chewy, the cheese was hard and the guacamole was discoloured, probably from standing for too long. We got the impression that the nachos had been reheated. After we indicated this, the drinks platter was removed from our bill, which I appreciate and for which I still give the service a third star. Finally, we also ordered the 'chicken bites', but we never received them and did not get a chance to order them again, because no one came by anymore. Our patience ran out. What shocked me a bit was that later in the evening a number of former employees came and sat next to us. They clearly enjoyed the fact that we were not helped and even made fun of us once. I won't go into detail about this, but this detracted from the hospitality and atmosphere of the evening. All in all, I am quite disappointed with this evening at Raeldzaam, especially because I am not used to this from them. However, this does not mean that I will never come back, but I do hope for a strong improvement in the interaction with customers, the quality of the food and the responsiveness to the wishes of the guests. This evening gets a disappointing two stars from me, all things considered.

Rare is a cafe - brasserie that has this atmosphere, but the kitchen and service are equal to a star restaurant. We were here June 15, 2024 and ate salmon with lemon beurre sauce served with al dente broccoli, grilled peppers and new potatoes. Start with a freshly baked sandwich with spread and after friandises (from your own kitchen) with coffee. A dinner in Raeldzaam is highly recommended. Rarely tasty.

Atmospheric restaurant with friendly and attentive service. Food was just okay, beautifully served and portions were just right. Prices are in proportion to the quality.

Radiates heat. If you are not familiar with Veenendaal, just walk down the shopping street to find this eatery. Delicious dishes with a lot of choice and they are not economical! . Service pays attention to empty glasses, so you don't have to wait long. We will definitely go back 😊

I wrote a review about "Rare". I deleted this. He was on the wrong occasion. Unfortunately, a big mistake on my part. Picked up 2 occasions each other. The owner reacted with surprise and rightly so. Great thing. Delicious coffee with liqueur and whipped cream. Nice service too. I hope this has been rectified

Heerlijk met zijn 2en genoten van een 3 gangen menu en een bijbehorende wijn. De sommelier had een prima keuze voor ons gemaakt in combinatie met de lekkere gerechten. Aardig personeel en op de juiste momenten aan tafel (absoluut niet opdringerig, ook wel eens fijn) Aanrader!

Dinner at Zeldzaam was a real treat, marking a delightful return since my one lunch visit there in Januari 2023. The quality of the food hadn’t dipped a bit, every dish was delicious and generous in proportion. But what truly rounded out the evening was the staff's genuine warmth and friendliness, transforming what could have been just another meal into a truly heartwarming experience. It’s comforting to know that some places not only keep their standards but also manage to make even the occasional visitor feel like a regular.

A flamekuchen is still reasonably affordable. Dinner is very expensive.

We ate here twice in the past period and it was good both times. The employees who helped us were friendly. Especially the second time we were there, we were helped very pleasantly and friendly by a young man. Both times it was almost full, but you could not tell that in terms of service. We will definitely come back here again!

Small adjustment: Complaint has been submitted to the owner and as compensation we can come back to make another attempt at his expense, so for now it has been nicely resolved, we will experience it. I regularly come there for a drink or a snack, which is fine. Unfortunately, I had a bad meal again tonight. 1 of the 3 people had a “reasonable meal” Nobody was full... I like to keep coming there for a drink and a bitterbal, but I'll give up food.

We hebben een hele gezellige lunch gehad met 10 personen. Alles was heel smakelijk en mooi geserveerd. Bediening kundig en vriendelijk. Je kan uit de hele kaart iets bestellen. Dus niet alleen een broodje kroket maar ook een biefstuk en een andere heerlijke warme schotel. Vis salade gevuld met veel vis. Carpaccio op vele verschillende wijzes opgediend. Ik heb nooit geweten dat dat allemaal zo kon maar wat ik vandaag gezien heb was TOPPIE. Alles was opgegeten. Het is ook fijn dat ze op maandag open zijn. De meeste restaurants zijn op maandag dicht. Maar op deze dag van de week zijn er ook mensen vrij die ergens iets lekkers buitenshuis gezellig willen eten. Dan kan je bij Zeldzaam in Veenendaal heel goed terecht. Zeer zeker voor herhaling vatbaar.

Coffee was delicious. My husband kept asking if we had left yet (if we wanted to stay for dinner), which we found quite pushy, so it didn't feel right to stay. Dinner menu was also no enticement.

The three of us had dinner. We had the barvette steak and the late skewers. Both were very tasty and the portion was good. Our son had snacks, which were prepared even though they weren't on the dinner menu. The beer was very tasty, my favorite was "La Chouffe". The waitresses were very friendly and tried very hard. We would definitely come back.

Bij aankomst op,het terras leek het ons wel een jeugdcafe. Super veel jongeren die soms wel redelijk luid waren maar alles verliep rustig. Bediening was goed ni meer ni minder , het eten dat ons geserveerd werd was wel,dik OK , zeer lekker gegeten .

Excellent menu, fantastic service. Quality of dishes and ambiance is superb. I don't know of a better and more pleasant place to eat and drink in Veenendaal. I recommend the bavette and a blonde Affligem from the stairs!

On the way to Arnhem we visited this restaurant for lunch. Because of the nice weather, we, like many others, sat on the terrace. The somewhat dated furniture is quite close together. The lunch dish tasted great. The wait staff was also friendly! The toilets look clean and modern.
