Writing this review while eating last piece of my sandwich- this place is a gem. Delicious food and coffee for reasonable prices but more importantly the lady behind the counter is super smiley and attentive. Will come back here next time when I am in Amsterdam!

A cozy little Italian café with delicious food and very kind, smiling staff. There’s always a line, but it moves quickly. There’s space to sit and a sink to wash your hands, which is a nice touch. The prices are really inviting, and I’ll definitely be coming back 😋

Tried to order few times but everytime ended up watching them party instead. 5 for atmosphere 0 service and 0 for pizza.

Everything was perfect. Delicious, high-quality food at a very affordable price. The food is served quickly, and the staff is very friendly. They even gave us a lemon cannoli. 100% recommended.

When I'm in Amsterdam this is my favourite Italian lunch spot. Delicious pizza by the slice with the right amount of fluffiness and crust and warm panini prepared on the spot. Even when you're not really hungry, pay these wonderful guys a visit for a quick espresso, enjpy the fun vibes and take home some cannoli!

Although the place is small and not very new, both the pizzas and the service are fantastic. The manager, an Italian girl (I don't know her name), was a delight to us when we came for lunch today. The pizza was delivered promptly and it was a delicious margherita. We were able to take any leftovers back to the hotel. Thank you!

I absolutely have to give 5 stars, this is the best pizza I’ve ever had! I’m Neapolitan, and I can honestly say it’s one of the best pizzas even compared to those in Naples. The dough is incredibly light, the quality of the ingredients is outstanding, and the atmosphere is warm, friendly, and feels just like home. I highly recommend coming here!

An authentic place. If you close your eyes, you can almost think you're in Naples and forget that it's cold and rainy outside. The food is fast and good, and the prices are affordable, nothing like the armed robbery that is Amsterdam. Here you'll eat a real pizza, not a bread with stuff in it. And if you're looking for a niche for Italians settled in the Venice of the North, this is your place. Gennaro is the best cook, entertainer, mayor, and shift partner—what's essentially a Neapolitan.

I usually do not write many reviews, but I’d like to make an exception for A’Volo. Ever since my arrival at Haarlemmerdijk back during Covid-19, I have been a regular visitor at this warm Neapolitan delicacy. At the first glance, the staff doesn’t look too tolerant, but they definitely are! The same passion you’d find when SSC Napoli win the league title again, the same energy can be traced back in to their food and beverages. Espresso’s, deli sandwiches (5,50-8,00€, depending on extra toppings), pizza slices (avg €3,50), whole pizza’s (starting from 9€), cannoli. It doesn’t really matter whether you’ve eaten already. Your senses immediately tell you to that you should eat as soon as you are in range of the store. To highlight, I would definitely recommend Panini Maradona(💙) or Diavola on an empty stomach. However, a pizza slice with margherita or potatoes (pizza con Patate) will always do. I came to understand that A Volo means something like: “I am late for work, gimme a cup of coffee, a volo!” However, the establishment never feels rushed to me. Aside from the delicious food, the warm atmosphere, the conversations, and the good playlist makes you feel relaxed after a rough week.

A wonderful neighborhood spot for a tasty panini, slice of pizza or shot of Italian espresso. All of their ingredients are high quality (prosciutto, burrata, rucola etc.) and their pistachio cannolis are the best. Everyone behind the counter is friendly and warm and it’s always a cozy vibe inside! I love coming here.

My favourite Italian deli in Amsterdam: laid back, friendly staff and super delicious food.

Had lunch with my son. Had a really good sandwich bologna and my son a pizza margarita. While it was quite busy we were helped fast and she really tried to make us feel at home. Definitely a place to get back to.

My daughter and I arrived around 11:40, and unfortunately, there was no ready-made pizza or the person who usually makes it. However, upon seeing my child, a lovely woman who worked there kindly offered to make a mini pizza just for her. It was incredibly touching, and the pizza turned out wonderful—very delicious.

Best Italian experience in Amsterdam

Great service the team is super nice and welcoming. Everyone has a smile and when you leave you usually have one too. I go every Monday for work lunch and it makes my Monday better. Usually get 3 (big) slices of pizza for €3 each

True Neapolitan flavors! Recommended

July 2024 Real Italian place. Don't be fooled with the front when you walk by. They say they have the best espresso in town and it is definitely in the top 5 for me. They taste their coffee before starting the day ... love that. They have quite a nice menu for such a small place. Extremely friendly, hospitality a 10 with a perfect atmosphere. Home made focaccia bread with the favourite Italian products on it. Pat them a visit

to pay 3.50 for a coffee, bit ridiculous no?

Even though we arrived 10 minutes before closing time, we managed to eat an amazing potato pizza and a wonderful sandwich called Maradona. Maradona lives in this place and his Gods' hand buys coffee to his loyal fans... Great family atmosphere, a great man runs this place... It was pure pleasure. Piccolo locale gestito da italiani ad Amsterdam da tempo. Ideale per una breve sosta, un caffè o una birretta fresca e per la pizza preparata ad hoc da Gennaro. Personale sempre sorridente (Francesca un amore!!) e pronto a fare due chiacchiere. Internamente anche un piccolo “museo” per chi ha Napoli e il Napoli nel cuore!

In pieno centro ad Amsterdam un piccolo locale dal cuore italiano! Offrono prodotti tipici italiani, caffetteria e bar. Si può anche mangiare la pizza. Super la gestione di Francesca e Gennaro: giovani, gentilissimi e sempre sorridenti! Tappa obbligatoria!
