We were here on New Year's Eve. The place was very welcoming and clean. The owners are two wonderful and knowledgeable people, who immediately greeted us with a smile and great kindness. Excellent, high-quality food. The price was more than fair. A wonderful experience!

We stumbled in here. No reservation, no problem. One chef and one waitress, even though the place was fairly full. No panic or stress. Everything went smoothly, and the food was excellent. It's a shame the tables are sooo close together.

The food was excellent: the nachos were delightful (perfectly baked chips with a flavorful melted cheese that was exactly what I was hoping for) and the steak was sublime. The pepper sauce was an excellent pair with the steak, not necessary, but a tasty addition. We were so happy that we choose to eat here - loved everything we had.

The ambience is calm and welcoming, the kind of place you instantly want to settle into. The Argentinean steak? Absolute chef’s kiss, perfectly cooked, beautifully seasoned, and genuinely memorable. The tacos were bursting with flavour, and honestly, every dish hit the mark. On top of that, the waitress was warm and friendly, which tied the whole experience together perfectly. Highly recommended and easy to get to from Waterlooplein station.

Last Thursday, we went to a performance of the Dutch National Opera and enjoyed a delicious South American meal and a refreshing beer at Santa Maria restaurant beforehand. It was reasonably priced, with excellent value for money and friendly, personal service from the owner and his wife. We highly recommend it and will definitely return. On Wednesday, December 10, 1925, we had another delicious meal at Santa Maria. We received a very warm welcome from the chef and his wife. The personal attention they give their guests makes you feel at home.

Bonita !! We came to this restaurant after finishing the festival of light tour and it was the best ! The service was lovely, they were so sweet and the food was great !! Huuuge burrito and I was very full. Had amazing flavour and worth the price for sure too. Loved it !!

The best place to eat we've tried in Amsterdam, it's a shame it was on our last night. The service was spectacular; a very kind and professional lady and gentleman (the chef) made us feel right at home. The quality of the meat is excellent, and as a Spaniard, finding a place where the meat is up to par is difficult, but they far exceeded our expectations. You can tell they put a lot of care and attention into the way they cook and treat their customers. Highly recommended for its quality and value. We'll definitely be back if we have the chance 🧡🤗

We went for dinner tonight and stumbled upon the restaurant by chance, as it's near our accommodation. All the meat was delicious, flavorful, and incredibly tender... the potatoes and wine were excellent too, everything was perfect. The owner and the chef were very friendly and welcoming. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere and is very peaceful and relaxing, ideal for a pleasant dinner. It's a shame we discovered it on our last day, but I'll definitely be back. ❤️😋

I stumbled upon this café while out for a walk and decided to pop in. What a pleasant surprise! The coffee was top-notch and came with a small piece of chocolate. The service was polite and genuinely friendly. The decor was simple yet stylish, with lots of wood and a rustic feel. The background music was soft and soothing. There was a calm, almost homey atmosphere. Everything was spotless and well-organized. The prices were surprisingly low for the quality. I stayed longer than planned, simply because it was so pleasant. A place I will definitely return to.

Fantastic steak, wish I had got the bigger size. Peppercorn sauce was delicious. Partner really enjoyed the fajitas, and all the sides that came with were flavoursome.

I tried a traditional fajitas dish named Comida Santa Maria. It was delicious, well seasoned and with super tender beef strips and flour tortillas. The service was fantastic. The location is very convenient specially for who goes to the Nationale Opera and Ballet. I would certainly come back.

We have just enjoyed a really delicious meal at Agabi Santa Maria. Had a generous Margherita to start and then both enjoyed a large meal of fajitas and enchiladas which were yummy and catered for gluten free needs. Meal was freshly cooked and very generous in size. The service was faultless and would highly recommend.

Delicious food, good price, and conveniently close to Carré. I arrived a bit late because it was busy, so I called and asked if it was okay to arrive late and be ready for Carré in time, and yes, it was perfectly fine, ready on time.

The food isn't particularly good. I recommend throwing something together yourself. There's certainly no Mexican flavor to it. The chicken was okay, the beef wasn't good. It's a bit pricey for a handful of nachos. The staff, however, are very friendly.

Outstanding flavor, excellent spot to people watch. Best beef I’ve ever had and being from Texas - I’ve had plenty. The stuffed banana was a very filling starter, and I added roasted corn on the cob with my Argentinian filet. That filet was resting on a mild red sauce full of mushrooms and onions. Very generous portions and you were not want to waste any of it. Don’t miss this place.

Good food, the place needs a makeover.

I am Argentine and we fell here by chance, with little faith in meat I was surprised at how delicious it is and how well they cook it. The treatment is very cordial and friendly, it is a family-friendly place where the food is excellent and at a very good price.

Nos topamos con este lugar principalmente buscando sentarnos un rato. Los propietarios eran encantadores. Las margaritas eran refrescantes. Las opciones de cena, aunque ligeramente diferentes de lo que vemos en los “Estados” eran deliciosos. Teníamos burritos de fajita que llenaban el plato (y nosotros! ). Estamos aquí algunas noches más y planeamos volver. Sí, tomó unos minutos para obtener nuestra comida, pero acabamos de disfrutar de una 2a margarita. Debatimos “entrantes” antes de pedir pero si lo hubiéramos hecho no habríamos terminado nuestras cenas.

Los propietarios son genuinamente amables y acogedores, y el ambiente se sentía cálido y acogedor. Cenamos aquí con nuestra familia, y la comida era absolutamente delicioso! La carne estaba increíblemente tierna, derritiéndose en la boca con cada bocado. Hemos probado muchos lugares en Amsterdam, pero nada se compara con la calidad que experimentamos aquí. Sin duda volveremos!

I came in with some friends, I went to the toilet, which had no lock. It was also very dirty there. The food took a long time, my steak was raw and my friends' chicken was dry. It was also very little and I was still very hungry afterwards. You got a “salad” but it was literally 2 leaves of lettuce and half a tomato. The atmosphere was a bit better, but not good either. In short, DO NOT COME!!!

I walked in and sat down, thinking, "What a nice little place!" Then I went to the restroom, which was already quite dirty. Anyway, I just sat down and ordered my food. The order took a long time, about 45 minutes, but the meat was still raw. Then I took a bite. I'd ordered the chicken breast myself and had never tasted anything so dry. It was absolutely awful. We asked for a medium-rare steak, but it tasted like raw meat. We didn't even get any sauce with the steak and chicken breast, so I asked for a small container of mayo for the fries and had to pay extra for it. It was a scam. The salad alongside the dishes was also completely disgusting; we only got half a mini tomato. In short, what a terrible place! Never come here!

We were a party of 3. We sat down in the afternoon for drinks in the sun and stayed for dinner as we watched the delicious food come out around us. All of our meals were delicious. Emilie was on her own serving a very busy restaurant and she was fantastic. The seating outside was lovely and the ambience inside when we moved in for our meal was lovely. I highly recommend.

Además, no hay mucho que contar al respecto, entonces era un lugar agradable para comer.

Wasn't sure if this restaurant would be open for NYE '25. Booked online and secured table last minute. Arrived to find ourselves the only diners at 5-6pm. What a wonderfully presented restaurant and service from the staff / owners. Worried why we were the only diners? The food was served and it was absolutely fabulous. So tasty. We (Australians) found this Mexican / Argentina restaurat to be one of the best we have eaten at. Maybe this restaurant thrives on the Ballet & Opera evening show dinners and on NYE there was no evening show, hence why we may have been the only diners. Highly recommend Agabi Santa Maria to satisfy your Mexican food craving while in Amsterdam. This restaurant deserved more customers.

A perfect quote place for a New Year Réveillon. The chef suggested very good fajitas, with grilled beef. It looks huge, but it was so good that we finished it totally. The special grilled beef with a light salad was very tasty. We got plenty smiles and enjoyed the last 2024 dinner. Merci
