Had the best crab curry and grilled pomfret here ! Service was quick and staff was extremely friendly and accommodating 🙂 can definitely recommend

Second time here, had a dosa by myself and chai. The dosa was perfectly crispy, I love it. I visited during lunch time and it was not very busy, so I could write down some notes in my notebook. Also stuff is friendly and smiling. I really liked the chill atmosphere. I’ll definitely come back 😌

Ordered an Anjappar special meal and a crab soup. Can't say both are not up to the mark even worse than that. I have been to many restaurants abroad but this does not taste good to be honest.Chicken gravy tastes like kara kozhambu.

Warning - this place will give you bad food poisoning! do not go here!! This restaurant got my partner & I with bad food poisoning!! We each got thalis on Tuesday night & 7 hours later we were both vomiting & we were sick for a good 3 days. They do not have hygienic standards as we did notice that the curries were not warm. Please save your health & avoid this place

Many Indians especially from the south comes here often . And I loved it. Especially the fish curry meals. The fish fry that comes with it so ..so good! 🙌🏼. Although the Sundal dish (boiled salad) was supposed to contain grain and coconut. But it didn't. Edit. I did a take away of mutton chukka and I got sick from it. I had been a regular . I would still go but will be very cautious. Changing 4 to 2 stars

We wanted to try a variety of different dishes so went for the big platter the Anjappar virunthu meals. where they have three different meat dishes. Fish, mutton and poultry. All where amazingly fragrant spices and tastefull, not only that. it came with all the curries as well. They also inluded roti, rice, briyani and papadum. We also ordered a plain dosa that came with different sauces. Massala Chai and a yoghurt drink to cool down the spicy food. Then we had their warm gulab jamun and gajar ka halwa for dessert.

Clueless and completely lackluster. Ordered and paid for meal at 17:19 for collection, notified it was ready at 17:50, arrived they noted it was not on there system - said they would come back to me, 18:19 still no help. Still sitting here and they just take guests to the table and serve food for seated clients

The food here is really authentic and the best, that's why I ordered several times from here. The problem is that they forget to put many items when you are getting the food delivered. So I will stop home delivery from here since I lost money. Basically they don't care to inform you if something is unavailable nor do they acknowledge if there are some items missing. For example yesterday I ordered Prawn Biryani with Spl Kesari (2) and Gajar Halwa (1). I only received the prawn Biryani. Even the delivery package from the restaurant only read Prawn Biryani, that clearly means they either missed reading it in the app or they didn't have it and and never bothered to inform or replace it with something else. And on 26th November I ordered Rasmalai, Falooda and Prawn Biryani but I only got the last two items. Once they also erroneaously put chicken biryani instead of prawn which was refunded by the app, so I didn't mind it so much. But I lost money here in the other two orders in this restaurant, and now the app's customer care doesn't even acknowledge the error. In simple words I lost money here. Thanks!

Over all good experience, They serve very quality food with love all the staffs are very kind and friendly. One suggestion would be washroom cleanliness can be improved.

Delicious food, friendly and fast service, I don't like cauliflower and I ate the tastiest cauliflower EVER here. The smell from the kitchen lingers in your clothes for a very long time, so you can enjoy it for an extra long time, lol

worst of the worst, don’t reccomend! Poor service and even worse hygiene

During my last visit to Anjappar in Amsterdam, I didn’t have a great experience. The special Anjappar chicken gravy we ordered was mediocre, and the Kerala porotta seemed not fully cooked. Although we had made a reservation, we still had to wait, and others who arrived after us without a reservation were seated before us. This didn’t seem right, but I could have overlooked it if the food had lived up to the hype. Unfortunately, it didn’t.

My colleagues really enjoyed the South Indian Cuisine especially Mutton soup, Medu Vada, Dosa, Chicken lolypop, mutton biryani and authentic poondu kuzhambu

We booked a table in advance, yet the reservation wasn't done n we were made to sit in a cramped place . The food tasted good. Biryani's quantity was very less for the price.

One of the best Indian restaurants in Amsterdam combining both South & North Indian dishes. Prices are bit on the high side but you get the value.

What can I say - my favorite indian restaurant in town. First of all, indians work here (sometimes from India as it’s a chain,like students studying here), second, Indians also go here! I find their spiciness level more spicy than most other Indian restaurants which is a good thing for this cuisine. Also it tells me that they dont adjust their cuisine based on the average Dutch person. You should note that if you dont like too spicy, you should say it. Overall, you will have a very good experience here.

Morning appointments at amsterdam in this cold weather is always a delight with this amazing Chettinad food and not to forget the amazing 80s & 90s music that goes at the background . Kudos to the person behind this taste of music .

went there thrice with my family. It was an awesome experience everytime . food is tasty and hygienic. atmosphere cool. found a little confused but given rent in Amsterdam it was nice.

A bit messy. Food was fine. What bothered me is that you had a good view of the storage or washing up area. Numbers on the tables are useful, so that the staff does not have to look for where the ordered dishes should go.

So the food was great but the service really needs a lot of improvement. No one asks you for water when you sit down and they hardly make an effort to even smile or treat you with courtesy. It felt like they are doing some sort of a favour on us by even greeting us. Once small ask: the spoon sizes are bigger than the bowls of the thali. Can we please keep smaller sized spoons for eating from the thali? Thanks.

Recently been to Anjappar, Masala Dosa was not crispy at all. It was very soft. I do not recommend for trying dosa

The food is delicious, but the portion size is quite small compared to the standard usually offered in Indian restaurants.

We were all sick after eating here. Stomach flu headache fever. Don't.

Not sure if it was this particular retail outlet, but the Anjappar stall at Diwali 2024 event in Amstelveen was serving food which was not fresh and definitely led to couple of friends falling ill with stomach infection.

What a taste! Amazing trip to India!

The staff was great accommodating my gluten free needs! They also helped us select some dishes which were not too spicy (very important for us). Food was amazing, we got the Anjappar chicken massala curry (with gravy ofc) and the muttom dum biriyani. For dessert we got the Gulab Jamun. These were a first time for me, but my partner is a fan of these and was amazed by them. Drinks were also delicious, we got a classic mango lassi and a sweet lassi.

Amazing food! The waiter was very good, explained everything to us and we had an amazing and flavorful meal!

My vegan meal was the vegetarian meal and instead of eight different dishes they simply left out the dairy dishes and no vegan protein. The spl kesari with nuts came without nuts... We smelled like a snackbar when we left.

Daya and Farook really did a great job with the Service. The food was delicious and so authentic.

This was my second visit here and food here always surprise me. Everytime i try something different and all the dishes so far had the most authentic south indian taste. They put fresh curry leaves in the dishes. Menu itself is very extensive. Prices are very reasonable considering that location is in the main street in a prime locatity. Food quality is consistent. Experience here never disappoints! Even my Spanish friends come here over and over again with their friends and family. We ordered chicken curry with parotta, chilly idli, hot and sour chicken soup, chicken kothu parotta. Kothu parotta has same taste as you get in Tamil Nadu.

We went as 6 people. The service is poor, before we finished eating we were asked multiple times if we are done. Before I could finish eating, the service decided on their own and gave me couple of boxes to pack the remaining food for take away. @Anjappar if you want to accommodate more people while you are busy, get a bigger space and don't push out the ones already inside the restaurant. When I must leave the restaurant is my decision and not yours. At the end, they had issue with their network for card payment, we were asked to wait until the network issue is resolved or download an app to make the payment. I don't mind downloading the app if I was not pushed out of the restaurant in the first place.

Worst service, takes ages. Don’t order uber eats it wil take ages.

The male staff in the restaurant are terrible as far as service is concerned. A single waitress was running around the restaurant to make sure that everyone was well served, and chasing her fellow staff for orders, staff who were clearly taking their time and very cavalier. A single cup of masala tea took 20-30 minutes. I feel sorry for the lady who chased the disinterested male staff for our items, I could feel her trepidation as she watched us wait. I wish the rest of them would do a better job.

They open themselves for reservations and the. Declare on arrival that reservation is void. Perhaps stop the option online then!

Recommended by one of my friends, a group of us went to go try this place. We started off ordering drinks, we got a lot of King Fishers and some Lassi's. For food we got a lot! Started with Nenjelumbhu Karumilagu Soup (Freshly ground spices simmered in mutton bone stock), Chicken 65 (chicken marinaded in chili ginger and garlic), Onion Bajji (Onion deep fried wiht flour), Gobi Manchurian Dry. My favorite out of this was the Gobi Manchurian. Next round was 9 Kerla Parottas (Flaky layered bread made of wheat flour) and Kal Dosa (served with vegetable sambar and chutneys). For the main course we got Pepper Chicken Masala Gravy with rice, Mutton Shukka Masala, Egg Thokku Masala (Egg curry in a tomato-onion base) and Karaikudi Chicken Masala rice. My favorite was the Egg Thokku Masala, nice flavor and creamy as well. Finally we had some Biriyani's: Chicken Dum Biriyani and Mutton Dum Biryani. For dessert we ordered a couple of Masala Chai's to end the feast. Overall huge feast and really nice food. It did get quite busy in this restaurant so the wait times for food was longer but well worth it.

Anjappar needs no introduction, one of the top South Indian restaurant chains and established in many countries. I have enjoyed their delicacies in India, Canada and now in the Netherlands. I was extremely delighted when I got to know that they have a branch in Amsterdam, and made it a point to have my first lunch in Amsterdam at Anjappar. We had a couple of beers, chicken and vegetarian appetizers, and then full course meals along with biriyani. The bajji with chutney was fine. Any dish here is amazing and needs no feedback, I just have it. Chettinad chicken roast was very tasteful, well cooked with perfect masala. Biriyani is one of my favorites, and it's default to be on the table. Thank you Anjappar for making a great lunch in Amsterdam during my Europe trip.

The food is typical South Indian cuisine. The taste is authentic and they use spices that are majorly used in Indian cooking to make all the dishes. Their veg thali is huge and very tasty!

Mutton biryani was really good.

Delicious authentic food. Not the taste of India, but real Indian food.

Mutton Chukka, Fish 65, mutton biryani and parotta were top notch. Same taste as in Chennai. Chicken fry (dry) was a bit too fried and crunchy. We sat outside for lunch. Beautiful weather. Great beers. Enjoyed it all.

Good South Indian options. Excellent biryani in Amsterdam. Chettinad chicken is good. Jigarthanda is okay!
