Lovely brunch. Great service- recommend

We spontaneously decided to visit Anne&Max. The staff was friendly and efficient. The menu is extensive and well-balanced. We had a delicious breakfast. The atmosphere is very modern and cozy. We would have loved to try everything there and would definitely come back.

The nicest staff in Amsterdam works here. The women who work here are incredibly friendly and thoughtful.

My favorite coffee spot. I've been coming here for about 12 years, almost daily for the past few years. It's a great place to read the newspaper, with very friendly and welcoming staff and, of course, delicious coffee.

Great service loved the food, I had the max breakfast and it was nice and great if you don’t what to choose. Service was good too!

I went here with my daughter for a cup of coffee and an apple pie. The atmosphere was pleasant. The coffee was delicious. The apple pie was clearly frozen. It was very watery. My daughter even had a hair in hers...yuck!

Such a beautiful place in an original building hundreds of years old in the city of Amsterdam, the interior and atmosphere are warm, the taste of the food is also very good

Acai bowl puree has a porridge-like texture and tastes like everything but fruit. I can't swallow it. I called Anne & Max, and according to them, it's not freshly made but a product from a German manufacturer. They're deceptive.

High tea for two was very diverse and delicious, with one minor drawback: the loose leaf tea could have been replenished. If you both have a favorite tea, you'll quickly see the bottom.

Food was great 4 to 4.5 stars for it. However, coffee was disappointing and would give it below 3 hence the average for both of 3 stars. Staff were great great though 5 stars to them and great chilled atmosphere.

Solid breakfast, cappuccino with oat milk was okay—unfortunately, the milk was much too hot. Overall, it felt more like a chain than an individual café.

Super nice staff, but the food was a bit disappointing. I paid 12 euro for a bowl of scrambled egg two toast bread (seemed like supermarket bread), a small bowl of hummus and Muhammara - and 3 slices of tomato. Felt I bit robbed. The coffee was nice.

Nice place to have a quiet coffee and lunch, and read the Saturday paper at the same time. Relaxing!

Food is really substandard and little in relation to what you pay for it

I've been here many times, and the experiences were different. But mainly positive (otherwise I wouldn't keep coming back). The fruit shakes are delicious. Although I wondered recently if the price had gone up, I thought they were a bit on the expensive side. It's nice that there are vegetarian and vegan meals, cake and snacks on the menu. The menu does change occasionally, so unfortunately I miss some former favorite dishes. The last time I was at Anne & Max's I ordered tomato soup. I didn't know what I saw when it was served. It came in a small bowl the size of a coffee cup. The spoon barely fit in. The soup tasted good, the taste is not the problem. But that price, and then such a clumsy bowl that leaves you just as hungry afterwards as before, only almost 10 euros poorer. The no cheesecake (vegan cheesecake) is very tasty. The vegan apple pie is also delicious. And the (also vegan) double chocolate cake is also delicious. The vegan pink cookie is okay, but a bit dry. The service was friendly but didn't seem to want to work. I sat at the table for about two hours, but no one ever came to see if anyone wanted to order anything. While I would have liked to order more food and even more drinks several times. When the person next to me finished eating, the plates and glass remained where they were. No one came to clean it up. Although I was still there for over an hour. The group stood still. There were small children who caused a nuisance to the other customers / guests, and no one said anything about it. Neither the mother nor the staff. Children climbed and stood on all the empty chairs, sat upside down in them, crawled through the legs of people working on their laptops, moved chairs where people were sitting, they made noise. I understand that this is not Anne & Max's fault, but something should have been said. A tip to the staff: check every now and then whether everything is to your satisfaction, whether anyone wants to order something, and above all, clear away the dirty plates, bowls, cups and glasses when people leave. That should be your job, so do it. I automatically tipped, but afterwards I wondered why I did that. Wasn't really deserved.

I used to think this place was ok. I don't like it anymore. First, this is now a chain coffee place, with all the annoyances and quality degradations that come with it. Seems like they have 5 - 10 in the area? The food is mediocre, the service is "ok" (quite slow and understaffed at times), the prices don't make much sense for what you get. E.g. a mint tea - hot water, a few tea leaves, no honey, sugar or anything offered - was 3.90 Euros. Weird corporate policies, like no laptops on some tables. But what bugs me the most is that they position themselves as Planet friendly/fair in their ingredients and sources, yet they serve a lot of meat.

Cozy bar with lots of choice for breakfast. Everything was great, ideal to start the day!

The food you get is so small. The omelette is big as a cup. The juice has the size of a shot. And I paid 13€ for this. The quality is good but the portion is for kids

That was for sure one of the best breakfests I have ever had. I am for sure coming again. That was the BEST Croissant and the BEST Cappuccino I have EVER had. And the scrambled Eggs and the Bacon and the jam...MHMHMHMH YUMMY!!! AND the Chocolate Milk😋 SSOOOO TASTY!!! And the price is also fair.⚖️ And the serving Lady was SO NICE. There's a lot more to say. I really recommend this Café. Come here, enjoy and bring some hunger. I will never forget this breakfest.

Lokatie Houthavens; hun redding is dat er in de omgeving niets anders is, of nog slechter! Op het tochtige terras staat het onkruid 30cm hoog aangevuld met kapotte stoelen, en stoelen die nog aan de ketting liggen, hippe gasten die urenlang niets bestellen en de gratis Wifi misbruiken ….pfff dure stoelen! Ook schooljeugd mag hier kosteloos plaatsnemen zonder consumptie! Er wordt toch niet gehandhaafd door het personeel! Eindelijk een smakeloze Pulled Chicken op een schijfje karton uhhh ciabatta mogen bestellen! Ongelooflijk dat hier nog gasten neerstrijken! Ik wens u heel veel sterkte met uw onderneming! Vooral de franchisegever die het toch ook niets interesseert hoe de kost verdient wordt!

WORST MATCHA LATTE I’ve ever had! They made it sweet, and I never asked for it. And super expensive! Toilets also really dirty.

I’ve been to Anne&Max in the past but the experience at the location in Zuid was great. The lunch for 2 was delicious and in good portions, and the atmosphere is really cozy!

We have been there for breakfast, it was not busy. We get what we want and that was wanted. everything was tasty. good and friendly staff, cozy space. then you have everything. * I just have a tip: the knives were not really suitable for thick pieces of bread

I left hungry and unimpressed. The restaurant was partially full not super busy. No one checked on us. I got the Anne’s choice. Which was a soup, salad, focaccia. The soup was cold served in a very small ramekin- maybe 5 tablespoons. The focaccia was hard as a rock and inedible. When we paid the bill they said it was in the oven too long, no apology just a statement. The salad was good with pumpkin but not good enough to sway this review. You should not leave hungry from a 20€ lunch

Very mediocre coffee, worthless, overpriced, rock-hard sandwich. Poor quality and way too expensive!

Coffee is not great, ordered flat white and was basically given a weak cappuccino. Food options are nice looking, good quality ingredients, but pricey. Come with patience and don't order warm food. They take a while to prepare dishes, then sit on the counter for a while before being brought to the table since the barista is also the waiter, and warm food is served on cold plates, so it's basically served cold. The folks here are nice though, the design and atmosphere is nice, overall a nice experience if you come with time and low expectations, maybe try a tea, use it rather as a living room to read or have a chat.

Today I thought I would take a nice walk and take a coffee to go from Anne and Max. After standing at the bar for 5 minutes, I was confronted with the question: 'Can we help?', 'Yes, please'. Can I have a LARGE cappuccino. After 15 minutes, I finally got my cappuccino, I asked if it was a large one? Of course! (See attached photo) I got the smallest cup for a LARGE cappuccino and paid a whopping 4.65 euros! Wow, this shocked me. Shame! There was also a man standing next to me (waiting until he could pay) who told me that he had had to wait 45 minutes for 1 sandwich. There was also a line at the cash register because 2 employees were arranging something at the cash register, so they no longer had an eye for the rest. Such a pity. Conclusion: it all takes too long, you are no longer seen quickly and the quantities are unfortunately below standard. Finally, I was told that they no longer did stamp cards! A few years ago the service was better. Staff are now mainly busy with each other and not with guests. Shame, I always really liked it there before. Shame!

Vriendelijke, Netjes, Uitgebreid, Vers en relaxed. Alleen sommige gerechten zijn niet goedkoop te noemen ondanks goeie kwaliteit en smaak. Het was wel bijzonder ene keer..

vriendelijk personeel, maar harde stoeltjes buiten zonder kussens een een kapotte stoel. Water was kraanwater. De thee komt in een leuke set maar het kopje wordt even heet als het kokende water, waardoor je het kopje niet goed kan vasthouden. En geen koekje bij een warm drankje?! Karig… Partner vond het prijzig, ik kan er nog niet over oordelen Sfeer binnen zag er wel erg leuk uit. Helaas geen fysieke menukaart (jammer!), maar op de site leuke opties gezien. Kan er echter niet over oordelen. Ik zou wel nog eens naar een Anne & Max gaan.

we love Anne&Max! not only this location is great. the food is really sublime, especially the 'vegan roze koek' is delicious, but also the salads, sandwiches, drinks...we would love for a Anne&Max in Amersfoort, since we live near Amersfoort and could visit more often then.

5 out of 5 for coffee and food. Being kiwis we are extremely fussing about baristas coffee. This was a great start to our stay.

Gisteren super lekker geluncht en koffie gedronken bij Anne&Max in Zuid. De bediening was top, het eten was top, de hele ervaring was dus top. Ik kan zeker aanraden om hier lekker te gaan lunchen en of koffie te drinken. Vandaar de 5 sterren!

Eten is oké. Zelf lekker maar vd 5 x dat ik er geweest ben 3 x de producten niet in huis. Haar in me koffie. Wou het vandaag nog een x proberen maar er was geen ham. Echt slecht voor de zuid prijs. Beter ergens anders heen.

Great place to get some lunch, cozy setting perfect for studying or to just have a fun time. The sandwiches were simple but really good so i certainly recommend!!

Had a great breakfast here, the staff is very attentive, the meals are delicious and they had great coffee too. Just as feedback for the menu card: Croissant comes with butter or fruit compote, however it‘s butter and fruit compote in German.

No lo recomiendo pedimos un desayuno doble , llego un solo huevo revuelto , dos sopas de tomate, una pequeña ensalada y dos pequeños jugos y panes simples pagamos y el desayuno lo cobraron doble ! Todo lo que se ve en la foto nos costo 40 euros !!! y el chico de la caja no tenía efectivo! Ni solución. Servicio malo y engañoso , no lo recomiendo!

It's a quiet sunday afternoon, decide to have a coffee and cake. As soon as our cake is nearly finished. The waitress takes the plate. If we wanted to completely finish the cake, it wasn't an option. As soon as my partner put down his coffee- bang it was gone. A relaxed coffee, was not ours to be enjoyed. It would have been lovely to have time to sit and enjoy. In the Netherlands, it is normal not take things until everyone is finished. Not take as soon it's finished by one person.

So delicious in every way, so unexpected as we are staying nearby and it’s really a hidden treasure. Staff were so lovely and so accommodating especially with my boyfriend who has a nut allergy. We both got the cheese and ham toasty and honestly neither of us have ever eaten one as nice especially for something so simple. I never write reviews and I had to come on here to sing there praises.
