A truly lovely restaurant with a beautiful atmosphere, creative cuisine, and a superb wine list! Highly recommended.

I don’t usually leave a review when the food is good but this place deserves it ! We got the 4 courses menu and it was amazing from the start to the end. The sauces are extremely well executed and so tasteful. The service was also very good.

Really cozy spot with a great vibe. We had the set menu and it was delicious! Lots of wines to choose from too. Definitely worth stopping by for a nice dinner.

What a delightful discovery. A southern French restaurant that is both elegant and completely unpretentious. A nice variety of dishes (plenty of vegetarian options), good wine list, really high quality food (the steak tartare was delicious even for someone who rarely eats beef). Some unusual food pairings together with great classics. It’s a hit with French locals, which says a lot. Some hiccups in the service: swapped dishes, wrong wines, a bit of time mismanagement before desserts. Details, really.

Very slow service. No beer options apart from the standard Heineken. I had a three course menu and the dessert was disppointingly bland. On the plus side, the menu was not overly priced.

I had a fantastic evening here last week for my birthday. The service was so friendly and attentive. The restaurant had a lovely atmosphere (and finally, a place where you could actually sit comfortably, not on those rickety chairs), the wines were excellent, and not to mention the delicious dishes (delicious oysters, risotto, and salmon with bouillabaisse sauce). I'll definitely be back.

It was our first time eating here. Stylish restaurant and delicious food! A huge compliment to the service as well. A charming young lady who was very knowledgeable and enjoyed her story and work.

We had the 5-course menu, and each course was exceptional in its own way, yet all the courses harmoniously complemented each other. They experimented with different flavors, elevating even familiar French dishes and giving you the feeling of eating something completely new. Nothing could have been done better. The service was also very pleasant. They were able to recommend suitable wines, and all the dishes were explained. The waiters were also very friendly. The ambiance was cozy and elegant. If we're ever in Amsterdam again, we'll be back.

Delicious food in a lovely friendly atmosphere!

Everything was exceptional, although a bit noisy, perhaps just the right occasion. They also open the windows to a patio, and at night, the lights let in mosquitoes, which makes it a bit uncomfortable.

This place is excellent. Everything we ate was delicious. Their risotto is incredible. They welcomed us with complementary wine. All their staff is very attentive and friendly. Highly recommended.

The dinner was excellent both in terms of taste and presentation. Kito was our server and was very knowledgeable about wines.. his suggested wine was one of the best whites I have had. The prices overall were a great value especially for a Michelin restaurant. Glad we chose it!

Superb in almost every way, we ordered the four-course tasting with wine pairing, a very nice alternative, generous with the good-quality wine. The fresh fish starter should perhaps be reworked because the pesto masks the delicate flavor of the fish and detracts from the experience. A wonderful discovery!

Enjoyed a delicious 4-course surprise Chef’s menu, with great service!

We had high expectations from this restaurant but unfortunately the food was not great. The bread they served with olive oil was amazing, let me start with that. So was the dessert. Risotto rice was not properly cooked, the parsley dish was disgusting (take it out of the menu, yuck!), my bf had the duck dish and he really did not like the paste it was served with. The service was good though and so was the atmosphere. I would give it another try if they improve the menu.

Prices/quality wise 4 out of 5 stars. Food wise they could slightly improve, personally found it a lot of veggies and small portion sizes. Dessert a 10/10. All in all a good restaurant!

Nice little modern french cuisine served on ideal bite sized platters. Super fulfilling menu both in terms of amount and flavor. It was really hard to pick a favorite! Thanks to the wine recommendation our night was even more complete! Would come again to taste more of their gastronomical delights

4 for atmosphere, as the terrace floor could have been a little cleaner :) The rest was perfect. You can even watch the sun set right between the street while enjoying your delicious meal and drinks! Coming back soon!

It was our first time at Arles, and we had a lovely time! We choose the 4-course chef's menu, which was not too expensive. I liked that there were a lot of vegetarian dishes, they were very inventive and delicious too! Service was really good and made us feel welcome, they were quick and the personnel knew a lot about the wines as well. Would definitely come back here!

This is a small, intimate French style restaurant in a quiet street. The staff were incredibly attentive, informed and pleasant. There was a 4 or 5 course taster menu in addition to an a la carte option - all from the same menu comprising 3 starters, 5 mains and 3 desserts. There was a decent French wine menu. The food was excellent and well presented, and represented good value for money. Our bill for 2 was around €220 including a bottle (and a half!) of wine.

Amazing experience. A very cute restaurant. Small and cozy. I ordered two oysters as a starter, one cooked and one raw; both were finger-licking good. Then I decided to choose the 5-course menu. The waiters were charming and attentive, explaining each dish in detail. The menu started with fresher dishes, progressing to the duck, and ended with dessert, which was also refreshing. I thought everything was delicious.

We found the first dishes of the chef's menu a bit less, main course and dessert were delicious. However, we had a very nice interaction with the chef who was open to constructive criticism!

Enjoyed a nice meal. Four-course dinner had two vegetable dishes (asparagus and roasted sprouts) that both came with yoghurt; was nicely made, but could have been done differently. Furthermore, delicious fish and, original, a rocket ice cream for dessert. Good wine and despite the enormous crowds a relaxed welcome!

A very nice cosy restaurant, but I was a little bit disappointed with the flavors of the food, especially the green curry beurre blanc sauce, it only tasted of butter and nothing else. I got the same with other dishes only one flavor and no depth. In the end the restaurant is very good value for money due to the quality if ingredients.

3 (Good). The wine and service at Arles was excellent. The food was ok. We had the four course tasting menu. The sprout dish was tasty; however, other dishes like the yellowtail were less to my taste. The waiters at Arles were all great, and the wine menu was very good. Arles was nice, and if the menu excites you then you should go. However, in my opinion there are better places in Amsterdam at this price point.

Fantastic restaurant but even better staff! The team at Arles made our dinner one of the most memorable dinners I have had. Great service and attentive staff and amazing food. Highly recommend everyone in Amsterdam to go here for their tasting menu.

Absolutely faultless. We frequently eat out and can certainly recommend Arles. Pity we do not live in Amsterdam as we would certainly be loyal customers. Out of this world food, with a down to earth and warm atmosphere!

Hello, decent food, the service did its best given the crowd, a lot of noise, and you forgot to deduct the 40 euros paid when booking. Please respond to me as soon as possible to correct it.

Disappointed in the drink service. Was given the option of still or sparkling water, we asked for still expecting tap water but that was not the case. We were charged 6 euro per bottle of water. A glass of wine is very small, 1/4 the glass. We were given bread (we did not ask for it) and were charged. Felt very excessive in up charging. Took away from the ambiance and enjoyment of the meal as the food was quite tasty. Would not return.

Not as good as I expected. We had 4 course chef's menu and wine pairing. Their chef's menu is okay but not excellent, not too creative, so in my opinion it's not worth the money. The wine pairing is weird, it doesn't go well with the food. Maybe only the wine that goes with the dessert.

Really enjoyed the food here! The Chef did a great job with creating a great menu with wonderful flavors. My favorite was the mackerel, Iberico cheek, and the beetroot blood orange gremolada (using that inspiration for my own cooking)! Only dish that was a bit overwhelming for my palette was the nori yoghurt Brussel sprouts, still really liked the nori yoghurt combo but all together was a bit too much. However, they gave us an extra dish because we didn’t like it as much, which was not needed but shows such amazing hospitality and service (we got the yellow tail which was really good). Great service from the staff - very kind and explained all the dishes. Also gave great wine recommendations. 10/10 would recommend for a good fine dining option without heavily breaking the bank whilst still getting good quality, unique food with great service.

Verfijnde Franse keuken met een verrassende twist – aanrader! Op 5 april hebben wij een fantastische avond beleefd bij Restaurant Arles in Amsterdam. We genoten van een 5-gangen diner met bijpassend wijnarrangement en werden geweldig ontvangen door eigenaar Max en zijn enthousiaste team. De sfeer is warm, losjes en stijlvol – precies zoals je hoopt bij een moderne bistro. Chef Numa Muller verrast met Franse gerechten die nét even anders zijn. Alles wat op tafel kwam was niet alleen prachtig opgemaakt, maar vooral waanzinnig lekker. Het hoogtepunt? Het hoofdgerecht met Iberico ham – een absolute smaakexplosie. Ook de wijnen waren perfect afgestemd. Spannend, karaktervol en vaak natuurwijnen, wat echt iets extra’s toevoegt aan de beleving. Arles is een plek waar vakmanschap, creativiteit en gastvrijheid samenkomen. Wij waren diep onder de indruk en komen hier zeker terug!

Great service. The food is interesting, but you need to take into account the nuances. We ordered a 4-course chef's set, but in reality it was more like 6 courses, as they complimented the first course (beetroot mousse) as well as fresh bread. 1) first appetizer - asparagus with slices of kumquat and olives, with aioli. I was surprised that the asparagus was cold; in my opinion, it would have been much better to serve it warm. There is a lot of mayonnaise and it does not go well with the dish. I also didn’t really understand the presence of kumquat and olives. Too much oil is added when frying asparagus. On 4- 2) Grilled Brussels sprouts with Parmesan and yogurt and nori sauce. Very tasty, unusual. At 5. But there is a lot of oil in the cabbage itself. 3) Main dish of fish. It’s delicious, but it’s literally all soaked in oil, incredibly greasy. We couldn't finish eating. 4) instead of dessert we took a cheese plate. The cheeses are excellent. 5. Considering the level of the restaurant, very reasonable prices, we left 100 before tip for 2 (oysters and a menu of 4 items for each, plus water, no alcohol). Overall a very interesting experience, but the presence of such a huge amount of oil in each dish must be taken into account if you have a sensitive stomach. Both my colleague and I felt ill after the visit.

I visited with my husband last night for a celebratory birthday dinner. We had the 4 course menu (plus a couple of oysters to start) and it was superb! Every plate was delicious, well-balanced and elegant but never over the top. The service too was attentive but relaxed, and the atmosphere grown-up but not stuffy. Highly recommend if you are de Pijp.

We were a group of 8 and enjoyed the attentive service. The food presentation and flavours were excellent. The wine list has been put together with care and there is a great selection of good wines. The quality and atmosphere were excellent. This restaurant is a little treasure in the heart of de Pijp.

The food was amazing! The service was also excellent and we really appreciate the person who was serving us. We asked for wine recommendation and their suggestion was really great. We will definitely come back again. It became a bit noisy at the end of the evening when the whole place was seated. But that’s a pretty common thing and has nothing to do with the service or food. We still enjoyed our evening

Nice and cozy environment (the table downstairs near the wines was great!), delicious 5 course menu from the chef - I couldn't choose which dish I preferred - good wines, top service and 'close' in a pleasant way. Had nice conversations! Our occasion was a birthday and the evening was a party.

A truly remarkable place in De Pijp. It perfectly combines a stylish interior (with appropriate spacing between tables) with great food, a relatively nice selection of wines, and reasonable prices. We opted for a la carte because we wanted to try the entrecote, and it was a 10/10 - probably the best entrecote I have had in years. The squid and beetroot starters were also of a high standard. Despite some initial confusion caused by the staff, we left with a strong positive impression.

Volvimos a este restaurante a pesar de que perdió su Bib Gourmand, y nos encantó la comida y la experiencia en general. Optamos por el menú y comenzamos con unas aceitunas y ostras, que estaban deliciosas. Sin embargo, tenemos una pequeña observación: se agradecería que los cubiertos fueran reemplazados después de cada plato sin necesidad de pedirlos. Además, la zona de abajo era bastante fría, lo que afectó a nuestra comodidad.

We tried Arles for the first time. Our experience was fantastic. The staff is super friendly and the guidance on the menu card with recommending dishes was great. We enjoyed the dishes. It has exceeded our expectations. I can only recommend the wine arrangement, it gives an extra accent to the dishes. We will definitely come back!

I’m from Avignon (right next to Arles), which means my review is the only one that matters. Given this undeniable fact, let me set the record straight: 5 STARS. The food is Michelin-level, the service is friendly and perfectly timed, and the atmosphere is cozy. Any review that says otherwise is simply wrong and should be reported to Google as fake news. In the last month I spent two evenings at Arles. My experience is that it is a restaurant with great food, very attentive and friendly service and a wonderful, warm and quite special atmosphere.
