I had an amazing night and our server Quang was amazing. Definitely would come back

Food was bland and boring, and the unlimited fries were non-existent. They came 15 minutes after the main was served, and they were cold. Service was a bit clumsy and made mistakes with our orders, but we were a big group, so I supposes it's expected. The waitresses used pen and paper. Like get them a tablet or something.

Spent a perfect afternoon for nibbles and drinks. Cocktails lovely! Service is brilliant.

The place looks very Élégant !! The nemu is also very nice, the prices are very high. I was thinking of a more gourmet cuisine, also of the service. Comparing the price, the food is average, portions small, very small. Overall not a bad experience.

With a Bongo voucher a specially composed menu. As an aperitif an aperol spritz, dessert a coupe blue and a bottle of Merlot, Montgolfier, France Languedoc! Had a perfect evening in a beautiful bistro!

A wonderful place to have lunch and dinner, the staff is very friendly and pleasant, the atmosphere and decoration is very beautiful, the food is delicious, everything is highly recommended. Make a reservation because it's always full.

Sadly a dull Christmas and New Year seasonal menu, and very average food. Our meal was really disappointing. Not very warm, tired reheated vegetables and pretty poor presentation.

We walked in and smelled sewage. Should have turned around, but we didn't have reservations anywhere else, so we stuck it out. We ordered smoked salmon on toast, "French" onion soup, steak tartare and the signature Bleu salad with grilled chicken. Oh boy, where to begin? The soup.. bland, flat, devoid of any flavor. The stock seemed to be chicken, maybe they dunked a chicken in hot tap water and boiled onions in it to call it soup. Smoked salmon on sourdough toast was also lacking in flavor, no presentation, but at least my wife got some protein. The salad was decent, fresh mesclun greens with half a hard boiled egg, house made vinaigrette.. But the chicken- was not only NOT grilled, it tasted like 2 day old baked baked chicken thigh uncovered in the fridge, then reheated for the salad. Steak tartare- well at least it was ground beef. However, it did not have the traditional encoutrements, and was served with white bread toast that was grilled. We spent nearly 100 Euros on this and to be honest, it was the worst meal we ate in Amsterdam. A 100 Euro meal should taste like one. I'm a chef and normally I like to recommend restaurants, but I just can't in this case.

We entered by chance and it was a success. We were very comfortable, the food was exceptional and the service very pleasant.

We had a glass of champagne and hot chocolate at Bleu. The hot chocolate was topped with cream and two macarons. The flair in it is what you want for Christmas. Like in the movie ❤️ The waiter very nice.

After a beautiful concert, a group of friends and I dined at Bistro Bleu, a charming spot in Jordaan. Housed in a classic Amsterdam building, the restaurant exudes a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The ambiance was delightful, and the staff were warm and welcoming. Seating is limited on the ground floor, and we climbed a steep, winding staircase to our reserved table on the second floor. While the restaurant was bustling, the service, though friendly, was notably slow. For my main course, I ordered the Angus tenderloin, requesting it medium rare. Unfortunately, it arrived dry and closer to medium well. What I found particularly disappointing was that the steak did not come with a sauce. It had to be ordered separately—unlike my experiences in French restaurants. Instead, I had to pay extra for it, which felt odd. Dessert was a mixed experience—it was far too large, and the chocolate cake crumble was overpowering. Neither of us were able to finish it. A smaller, more balanced portion would have been preferable. Despite these hiccups, we enjoyed a wonderful evening in good company. Bistro Bleu is worth a visit for its ambiance, though a few improvements could make the dining experience even better.

At Bleu we chose the vegetarian burger, truffle fries, baguette as a starter, tarte tatin and chocolate crumble for dessert. The service was very friendly and the restaurant was lovingly and comfortably furnished. The baguette was still steaming and was super fluffy and delicious. Our burgers and fries were also really good, but by far the best thing was the dessert! We both agreed that it was one of the best desserts we'd had in a long time, especially since neither of us had had it before. This was really made with love and something special! We'll definitely be back :)

The atmosphere is cozy, the cuisine is perfect. We had the homemade duck rillette as a starter then a salad and roasted mushrooms with truffle cream, delicious! The servers are attentive, very pleasant and responsive. A real little culinary experience in Amsterdam ❤️

Wij vonden Restaurant Bleu een geweldige ervaring. Het personeel was vriendelijk en we werden snel geholpen. De sfeer was erg gezellig en ondanks dat het restaurant klein is, voelde het intiem en fijn aan. De prijs-kwaliteitverhouding was helemaal in orde, we kregen heerlijk eten voor een goede prijs. Het leuke uitzicht maakte het helemaal af. Al met al een aanrader voor een gezellig avondje uit!

We enjoyed our dinner at Bleu. Intimate restaurant with wonderful service by Donato. We started with beer and a baguette appetizer with garlic butter. The baguette was hard and crispy on the outside and warm and soft on the inside. I had the French Fish Stew and it was absolutely amazing. Lots of shellfish, mussels, shrimp and fish in a tasty broth. We found Bleu walking between canals and the posted menu on the street appealed to the group. They have a nice range from burgers to vegetarian. It is definitely worth stopping for lunch or dinner.

Really good french restaurant with good services! We were happy with all the food , we took: Salmon toast (delicious, with several flavors!), Angus burger with blue cheese ( good blue cheese!!), Angus meat piece, and Tarte tatin. (And if you are really hungry, you can have a refill of french fries) Recommended!

One of the most delicious burgers that I have eaten in ages. Pricing was good and an added plus were their amazing, freshly cooked fries which could be replenished at no extra cost! Although Bleu is situated away from the main hustle & bustle of Central Amsterdam, the short walk is well-worth it and if anything a possible welcome retreat from the Damrak, Rokin & Kalverstraat area crowds.

Delicious!! The tartare & escargot are a must have. Staff was attentive & non intrusive. Perfect balance of quality food & no pretentiousness. So far, my favorite place in Amsterdam.

The dishes are not extraordinary and the restaurant is very noisy! The cozy atmosphere described by certain comments I did not find... Their front door does not close completely so there is a cold draft in the restaurant (we were there in October ) the servers do their best and are very friendly.

Very good food even if some portions are a little skimpy, impeccable service and lovely location, a restaurant I will definitely return to even if the prices are perhaps a little higher than they should be in my opinion. The burger was delicious, and the steak too, worth trying again.

Great ambience on three levels. Very fast and attentive service. Price-performance ratio fits. Burger served medium as desired. Overall just a little dry. Excellent: Supplements can be ordered free of charge. Nice shop!

We were in Amsterdam for a convention - and picked Bleu pretty much at random. We had a wonderful meal and the service was spectacular. If you're a fan of Steak Tartare, this is an excellent preparation.

We picked this restaurant initially for its varied menu choices and nice local vibe. Upon arrival, we were even more pleasantly surprised with exceptionally tasty food, great cocktails, and friendly staff. One of whom was Arnau who looked after us well. We thoroughly recommend you dine here 😊

Rommelige omgeving, erg druk vooral een toeristen locatie, Het eten zeer matig, weinig keus en erg duur. Hamburg op een plankje en erg rauw, ik had medium gevraagd. Aankleding klein tomaatje en een slablaadje. Bakje friet, dat was het. Nooit meer kom ik terug, spijt van deze keuze.

My husband and I stopped here for a drink whilst waiting to begin our canal cruise which was nearby. The young lady who served us was lovely at the venue itself was cosy and chilled. We saw some delicious food being given to other diners so we decided to return after our canal cruise and have another drink and a charcuterie and cheese board to snack on, which was really lovely. The dinner menu looked equally good!

Upon arrival, we waited at least 10 minutes in the cramped hall with several people to get a table. We ended up waiting a long time at the table before we could order drinks and food. The drinks and bread came fairly quickly, bread was cut strangely which made it uncomfortable to loosen, but otherwise tasty. But after the bread was gone we waited more than an hour for our 2 dishes! After asking, it came quite quickly, but in the end we just waited a long time. The food was tasty but not that special. The service was very friendly but clearly just too little. The building is beautiful but once more people came in it became very difficult to hear my friend across from me.

Rather intimate place, not crowded. The service is fast and pleasant, and the menu is rather diverse. Not necessarily typical but pleasant! (Small sewer smell not necessarily great but discreet)

If this (see photo) is medium, then what is rare? The incompetence in the kitchen could lead to someone getting seriously sick. After I complained the waitress was so kind as to take our drinks (1 glass of wine and 1 glass of WATER) off the bill. I wasn’t satisfied and asked for more off. Call me a whiner, but this was a €65 ribeye. They should know how to cook it. Steak served with lukewarm fries and mayo. I can’t say the meal cured my hunger, but it certainly ended my appetite!

This is my second time here and the food is equally fantastic. French brasserie food with fision elements; truly innovative and very tatt. The foie gras with tarte tatin is magnificent and the goat cheese salad was a fest. The burger is perfectly cooked and the wine lust very good. We also received attentive and caring service; top notch!

A small-scale restaurant with a limited terrace, top service, but it is a shame that you have to sit within the lines while cars and scooters drive past at high speeds. Rules go a bit too far in my beautiful Amsterdam. My youngest daughter and I had a delicious lunch there, that's for sure. Sorry no photos but the Prosecco and food were great!!!

Had a lovely lunch on Sunday afternoon. It was quiet, nicely decorated restaurant with pleasant music so you can also have a conversation. The steak tartare sandwich was delicious and the brie with bacon sandwich was the same. Very pleasant stay!

I’ll write a pretty extensive review as we came in for dinner after a long day of walking and not having any lunch so ordered several dishes. Their portions are generous, so do not make the same mistake as us and order too much, no matter how hungry you are 1 starter and 1 main will do the job. Service was quick and our waitress was kind and helpful. We ordered the following dishes and rate them as such: 1) Mushroom Toast: 9/10 very solid very tasteful, a little bit too much mushroom and salad on the toast made it pretty messy, but that’s just me being picky. 2) French Soup: 8/10 only complaint is that it was slightly watery as compared to the French onion soups we’ve previously had. 3) Escargots: 6/10 was very difficult to get them out of the shells, made us wonder whether they are fresh or frozen. They tasted good nonetheless. 4) Fried Scallops: 10/10 super tasty and it’s garnishes complemented the dish really well 5) Fish Stew: 7/10 slightly lacking in taste and doubting whether the shellfish was fresh or not. 6) Catch of the Day (was Cod on the day): 8/10 while the fillet itself was beautifully cooked it was not seasoned at all, which was disappointing as the garnish was beautifully seasoned. Overall, I’ve given them 5 stars because of the value for money, high quality service, and general high quality of food.

This place delivers an absolute amazing experience. First night in Dam and came to this place. The ambience, venue are truly superb. We ordered the Rib eye steak for 2, with a side of seasonal veg and a starter. We also ordered a bottle of red wine. The whole experience and flavours were second to none. The steak was probably the nicest I've eaten in Amsterdam and that's from over 30 years of coming here. Make sure you book as you won't be disappointed.
