Very good food but very high prices and average service

We visited Bleu for a light lunch whilst in the Jordaan area. A delicious soup of the day and French onion soup could not be faulted.

Perfect! The meat was excellent, the welcome was warm and friendly, and the toilets were clean.

The food and the atmosphere were absolutely wonderful and made for a lovely evening. However, when I made the reservation, I mentioned that I was celebrating my 40th birthday and kindly requested a window table. Unfortunately, this request was not acknowledged, which was disappointing. The staff did the minimum and didn’t make the occasion feel special. Overall, the restaurant itself was excellent, but the service could have been more attentive to special requests.

Absolutely amazing! The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The staff were friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The cozy atmosphere made the whole experience even better.

Everything we ordered was delicious, especially the mussels and the onion soup. Both the pork and the Black Angus were excellent (even though I’m not a big fan of meat). The ingredients are of high quality, and the service was friendly and welcoming. En especial la mujer de Perú ✨

Food was very good. Service was great, couldn't ask for more. Ambiance was luxurious as well. But was got me was the water which costs €8/bottle and we ordered 2. I thought that was complimentary so kept ordering Lol. But overall, experience was very good. Highly recommended

No service here. Sat for 2 hrs trying to catch the eye of a waiter to get another bottle of wine. About 4 times I caught their eye and they looked away. Never asked us if everything was ok, if we’d like something else, any desserts etc? Nothing, really poor service.

This place was just unreal. The food, the drinks, everything was so well done but still felt relaxed and fun, not over the top. The service really made it though. Everyone was so easygoing and genuine, it felt like they actually wanted you there. Yanna was the highlight, she made me a custom drink which was already so cool, and then sent it through to the kitchen which was just such a fun touch. It felt really personal and made the whole night stand out. Proper good energy the whole time, definitely one of those places you walk out already wanting

20260311 Been back to Bleu after a while. But this time it seems the quality has changed, the seafood stew that we have ordered was super salty and the peppersauce too. Fries were not that crispy and we were waiting for a long time to get our order up or even get the check. 2024 Everything on the menu what we have ordered were delicious!

Amazingly cozy atmosphere, intimate, and the food was fantastic, from the appetizers, oysters, and drinks to the steak, garlic sweet potato fries to the unlimited side fries. The service was very nice. Highly recommended and get reservations as it’s not very big.

I called in here for lunch whilst I used their WiFi to resolve iPhone roaming issues. Atmosphere is ‘cosy’ warm and welcoming. The staff were helpful, friendly, and welcoming. It was a good varied and well balanced menu, and I went for the house salad with chicken (other options available). It was really tasty and generous, and the chicken was fresh and well cooked. Recommended

A pleasant and well-frequented bistro. The food was very good (the coq au vin could have been a bit more robust, but the pork from the joster was excellent). The staff were very friendly and helpful, and they responded wonderfully to our special request for a larger table. We would definitely go back.

We received very friendly service. Lots of choices on the menu. We ate via Fork with a 50% discount on the food; always nice☺️. We started with oysters. These were divine! At the right temperature (not too cold) and opened beautifully (no pieces of shell). A bread roll with butter on the side and a nice glass of prosecco. For the main courses, the Angus burger: very flavorful and beautifully medium rare on the inside. The Coq au vin was tasty. It could have had a bit more flavor (maybe a little more wine and bacon?), but fine. Unlimited fries which were also tasty. For dessert, the chocolate crumble and the cheese board. The first was rich, creamy, and flavorful. Both were large portions. As for the cheese, it was really double the portion compared to what I'm used to from cheese boards. The cheeses themselves weren't special; a bit like supermarket flavors. No explanation was given, so I don't know exactly which ones they were. Nice wine (Malbec) and a La Trappe Triple on tap. The food arrives quickly, but they ask if you would like a moment between the main course and dessert. The restaurant is located in the beautiful city center and exudes a warm atmosphere. All in all, we had a lovely evening and a great dinner.

This place did not impress! Some of the staff seemed kind of unbothered by your presence while some where great and the environment is not that special to be honest. We hade tournedos for dinner and it was okay, nothing more nothing less. We felt like the garnish on the plate could have had more thought behind it. Would not go back.

Nice restaurant with nice interior, but it is the food I come for and it was terrible. The lunch menu is very small, but that should mean that there is experience with preparing the dishes. The burger we got was bone dry and completely burnt and black. How this can actually leave a kitchen is a mystery. Totally awful! And then a small dish of fries to share? Ok we got new burgers, (rather small and very little in toppings and not worth the 22€) but I was no longer happy there. I do NOT recommend.

What a fantastic restaurant. Top-notch service with a smile and attention. It started right from the booking with the dinner gift voucher. They really thought along with us, as we wanted to go to the cinema afterwards but didn't want to eat in a rush. The food and service were truly top-notch. So proud of how you all work together as one team. The price-quality ratio is balanced, provided you realize beforehand that some dishes have supplement prices. But for us, it was an experience exactly as dining out should be. Especially if you have received a dinner gift voucher, you don't want to just spend it without thinking. Well done, team. THANK YOU

worst meal i had in many years very chewy harsh steak i literally could not even cut it, some parts was just not chewable, extremely disappointing pâté-en-croûte def they bought frozen from somewhere and it was still frozen inside when they brought it out. honestly a waste of money, and it is supposed to be higher scale restaurant, but really worst steak and pâté I have ever had in my life

I found this restaurant on an app; I was looking for one with a good rating and close to our hotel. It turned out to be an excellent choice. Friendly service from the start. The rib eye for two was cooked to perfection. The coffee, though not exactly short, was made with a good blend.

Excellent appetizers and rib eye steak for two. A more than decent wine list. The service was swift, knowledgeable and friendly on a busy Friday night. Definitely a place to come back to with a big appetite.

It's absolutely delicious. The warm goat cheese was wonderful. The tartiflette was creamy and flavorful. Perhaps the steak tartare was the weakest point, but that's just my personal opinion. The service was excellent and the restaurant is beautiful. A great choice!

Great welcome and on a Tuesday evening restaurant quite busy, so best to book. Welcome and service through out was exceptionally friendly, personal and attentive. Portion size is good verging on very large. All main courses come with unlimited fries. Not necessary with the Spetzel-German pasta with truffle and cream which was delicious. But definitely a must with the muscles. I had a muscle pan with enough for two, literally bottomless. The unlimited fries definitely needed to soak up the gorgeous white white sauce. No nonsense cooking really well seasoned with loads of flavour. Both the staff were lovely!!!! English spoken at an exceptional level. Bottle of wine and pre drinks raised the bill to 50 pp. well worth it!!!

We recently dined at Le Bleu and had a wonderful experience. The foie gras served with the tarte tatin was especially delicious — a perfect balance of richness and sweetness that really stood out. The chef’s steak was cooked to absolute perfection, tender and full of flavor. Overall, the meal was outstanding, and I’d highly recommend Le Bleu to anyone looking for refined dishes and great service in a relaxed atmosphere. I’ll definitely be returning if I get back to Amsterdam!

I’ve been frequenting this place since the spring of 2018, believe it or not. It all started off with the lobster dish they used to have, before moving to the steak tartare these past two years, since late 2023. The food is always impeccable, as does the service, which never fails to impress. The ambiance is cosy and it almost always feels like a slice of home. Some Hallmark-like home, that you never truly been in before, let alone owned. A massive shoutout to Hans, David, the other guys, and the Dutch lady in Black as always. Great team. Highly-recommended and a must-visit, without the faintest shred of a doubt. A usual and constant pilgrimage for me, whenever I find myself back in Amsterdam.

At Kruitvat, I'd received a €20 Aquafresh coupon for a restaurant. I'd googled online and made a reservation at Bleu Amsterdam for 5:15 PM through dininggift.nl for a 3-course menu for €55 per person. So, for two people, €110 minus €20, which would be €90, excluding drinks. When we got there, the waitstaff couldn't find it, so she went to her manager, who was sitting at the table with a laptop. She came back through "Where did you make your reservation?" I showed her the menu, and they couldn't find it. I then asked, "Can we still have the 3-course menu?" She went back to her manager. She said yes, so we asked, "What can we choose?" If we didn't want dessert, could we choose two appetizers? She went back to her manager. It was literally the third time. Instead of her manager explaining things, or having her manager explain things to her properly, because she literally knew nothing and was apparently new with no experience and didn't even know what she was doing. Finally, she came back and I said, "We'll just order separately from the menu, not a 3-course meal, because the explanation wasn't clear about what we could choose." I ended up choosing two appetizers to share with my girlfriend: scallop and tartare, one main course: steak for 2 people with fries, and one side dish: a salad. We ordered a total of 4 dishes together, excluding the fries that came with the steak for 2. We received a bill for two 3-course meals. We looked at each other like, uh, how?! We literally had two appetizers and one main course. The tip wasn't worth it, so we didn't give anything. We had to pay at the bar. Instead of the service coming to the table with a debit card. Tip for the manager: train your staff well, so they don't have to walk back and forth asking questions they don't know. This restaurant was a one-time visit, not a repeat. The little things just weren't good. You want to enjoy your food and the service, but unfortunately, that wasn't there. We paid €93 for one bottle of sparkling water, way too expensive for what we got. I'd rather have paid €90 for the three-course menu. The receipt even had a line saying a carafe of tap water was €0.00, which I thought was ridiculous, even though we hadn't ordered it. It's better to have all-you-can-eat sushi or Korean BBQ; you'll be full for what you get, and it's even cheaper.

We had high expectations considering the high rating and the beautiful images. While the main floor is indeed very nice (but crowded) we were seated in the basement which was not nearly as nice. The food was fantastic but they struggled with the service. Ordered items were missing and we could not eat together. Even a simple water bottle took very long. Throughout the evening some of us had to layer up because of cold air.

Lovely, cozy, elegant. Friendly young staff, great food. The perfect semi-hidden gem just off the canal. The Xmas decorations, lights and wooden beams made it all click for me. 10/10

I had lunch here and ordered the Eggs Norwegian. The dish was nicely presented, but the eggs were cold. My tea was also not hot. The door kept opening, which made it a bit uncomfortable. The service, however, was friendly. Overall, the experience was okay, but it could have been much better.

It's a shame that if you participate in the Walking Dinner, which for us was just the main course, you know that groups can participate and then you're still irritated by the louder guests, especially those upstairs and in the back. The food was mediocre.

Had a group dinner at Bleu and they were kind enough to accommodate a large group reservation for 10. A cosy restaurant (with a loft), and great ambience. Enjoyed the chef’s steak, French onion soup and coq au vin. Flavours were perfect, and the free flow fries were a nice touch. However service could have been more attentive (had to remind a few times before we got our water - but granted it was a busy peak period when we visited). Overall still a pleasant experience dining at Bleu.

It's a super cozy place, and the food is also excellent. However, the tables were very close together. You felt the urge to apologize when you sat down. That does foster camaraderie, but I prefer a restaurant with a bit more privacy.
