For the first time in a long time, we had a very good meal in Amsterdam. Small traditional French menu and nice daily specials. Scallops with samphire and crispy (really crispy!) fried sweetbreads were superb. Tournedos with Roquefort sauce and deer with cranberry sauce. Great. The cheese plate even contained a briefly baked goat's cheese. Attentive service with a beautiful smile. We'll be back.

Super cozy, casual, but with good quality. Easy place to have a solid meal and socialize with your dinner party.

Wil je niet doodziek worden na een maaltijd in een restaurant ga dan niet in Quatier Latin in Amsterdam eten! Wij liepen daar een ernstige voedselvergiftiging op. De porties worden daar steeds kleiner en de prijzen zijn omhoog geschoten. Je moet bedelen om een glas kraanwater en daarna word je ook nog eens doodziek. Een afrader dus, niet doen!

Walked in for profiteroles and coffee only and both were great. The atmosphere is adorable. Highly recommend.

Nos alojamos en Amsterdam 2 semanas y comimos en muchos restaurantes, algunos de los cuales habíamos comprobado en línea antes de nuestro viaje. No nos habíamos enterado del Quartier Latin así que una noche mientras caminábamos vimos el restaurante y decidimos cenar ya que nos gusta la comida estilo francés. Quartier Latin es un restaurante familiar con un chef de primera calidad - - uno de los propietarios. Aunque relativamente pequeño, 40 asientos, el restaurante ofrece un ambiente agradable y modesto estilo cafetería. Aunque no siempre está lleno de clientes durante la semana, los fines de semana puede estar lleno de gente / ocupado, por lo que se recomienda hacer reservas de viernes a domingo por la noche. Debido a que mi esposa y yo realmente disfrutamos de nuestra primera cena regresamos por segunda noche la semana siguiente. La comida que disfrutamos fue ensalada de escargot y QL; cordero, gambas, salmón, solomillos de ternera; crepé, capuchino - - todos los cuales estaban bien - preparados y deliciosos. Stumbled on this restaurant. Excellent food prepared by what I assume are a husband and wife team. I can highly recommend the salmon tartar and venison.

A lot of noise because of the crowds. Quality was ok. But the portions very small.

Delicious food for a good price. Meat was very tender and well prepared. Very pleasant service. Within walking distance of Theater Carré. We paid €75 for 2 main courses, coffee and 4 drinks.

I have known this restaurant for more than 30 years, and according to their website, they exist almost 50 years. After all this time it is still a solid choice for dinner, and one of the best near Rembrandtplein.

Excellent price quality for the heart of Amsterdam, friendly owner who is still working there himself, respect!

Food was fine and the wine was good. However, unpleasantly surprised when paying: €7.50 for a carafe of water and €6.00 ​​for tea. What a joke.

Heerlijk gegeten bij Quartier Latin. Fijne, vriendelijke bediening bediening.

Klassieke gerechten zonder opsmuk, maar gewoon heel erg lekker. En een bezoekje voelt altijd als thuiskomen door de warme bediening.

Voor een gezellig Frans restaurant hoef je helemaal niet naar Frankrijk 🇫🇷

Ik kom al een kleine 30 jaar in dit restaurant dat al die tijd (35+ jaar) van dezelfde eigenaar is. De tijd heeft hier stil gestaan en dan in de goede zin van het woord. De warme authentieke Franse bistro-sfeer is al die jaren behouden gebleven wat dit restaurant tot een karakteristieke en knusse plek maakt. De eigenaar is erg vriendelijk en zijn vrouw bereid in de keuken eenvoudige klassieke gerechten die nooit teleurstellen. Kortom, dit restaurant is inmiddels zelf een klassieker geworden waar er in Amsterdam niet meer zo veel van te vinden zijn. Een aanrader!

If you like old fashioned French food then it is perfect. My French wife said she felt back at home in France.

Fantastisch restaurant, zeker als je daarna naar voorstelling in Carré gaat. Heel vriendelijke mensen, geweldig eten en redelijke prijs.

The food was amazing! The staff were so hospitable. I enjoyed the house white wine but not the red, but of course that is a matter of preference and if you want house wine. Overall fantastic!!!!

Heerlijk gegeten, super vers en heel smaakvol. Echt een Franse kaart, echt een aanrader. De bediening is heel attentben de sfeer is intiem gezellig.

Vraiment génial. Peu de monde, vraiment servi rapidement des plats très buen fait sur fond de musique française. Un incontournable dans le quartier et pourtant peu fréquenté, ce qui pour nous touriste est appréciable. On a l impression d être un peu unique dans ce petit décors très agréable. A essayer, vous ne regretterez pas pour un petit repas intimiste

L'accueil est sympathique, le service un peu long. Les plats sont soignés et bons mais c'est un peu cher.

Carte courte et excellente cuisine, fine et raffinée, en toute simplicité. Ambiance tres sympa sur fond de musiques françaises !

I scouted this place on google and was so sad there were no tables. I headed to the restaurant around 10:30-10:40 anyway and tried my luck. The owner was so lovely, he sat us down and took our orders. As a pâté fan, I jumped at the opportunity to get the duck liver pâté which was so smooth and well chilled. For my main, I had the lamb tenderloin which was unreal. I would relocate to amsterdam to have that lamb tenderloin again. I asked for medium rare, which is most perfectly was, with a beautiful crisp layer around the top. The lamb tenderloin was sat on a lovely bit of mustard sauce, accompanied by some veggies which were also just so good. The combination of flavours was to die for! The chef spent time just as they were closing to provide us with an incredible dinner which could be on its way to a michelin star one day. Thank you again for all the hospitality and perhaps see you again one day!

The food is okay just not as great as the place and price promise it to be

Ontzettend lekker gegeten. De slakken waren de lekkerste die ik ooit heb gegeten. Fijn tafeltje voor mij alleen. 2 Leuke meiden in de bediening. Bedankt voor de goede zorgen.

Por alguns momentos vc se sentirá num bistro na França. Lugar pequeno, 9 mesas, 40 lugares. Música francesa. Cozinha e serviço familiares. O cardápio ten poucas opções, mas é justo. A comida é boa, não excepcional. Carta de vinhos simples e honesta nos preços e poucas opções. Lugar com um clima levemente romântico. Bom serviço.

Came for a late night, fancy dinner and ended up pretty disappointed. Both servers struggled to speak English and it took quite some time to correctly communicate our order. As an entree we tried the Escargot and a simple salad which were fairly average. The mains had been incorrectly ordered, and instead of salmon we received lamb which neither of us could actually eat - and the waiters did nothing to correct the mistake or offer something we could eat. Instead we stuck with the four prawns (for €30!!) and the microwaved sides. The total came to €88, with a meal we didn’t order, and we were honestly, beyond shocked. Don’t waste your time coming here.

Cute place with a good vibe. Fantastic service and food. I had coquiles with seawheed and saffron sauce and they were delightful and very surprising. Creme brule was amazing. So were the steaks.

Good service, great food. Not “special”, but excellent classics. The homemade creme brulee was fantastic, with an orangey twist. We also had a very nice bottle of bordeaux to accompany our meats.
