Bakker Jongejans in Buitenveldert-West

Groot Gelderlandplein was recommended to me by an acquaintance as a good place to shop, my friend said! That was indeed the case, except at Bakkerij Jongejans. I was yelled at by an old fishwife from her counter by the pastries. I was standing in the wrong aisle by the bread and had one loaf in my hand. I wanted to ask her something and walked over with the bread, but she yelled that I wasn't allowed and that I was in the wrong aisle! I've never been there, so I might have made a mistake, but to be yelled at like that by an old fishwife with blonde hair and drawn eyebrows, I'd go to the market because at least they want to sell you something! Or is she the owner who's fed up with it, or an employee biding her time until retirement?! I think she's more likely a bitter woman who has wasted her life in a bakery because she can't do anything else! A shameless purchase for a shop on Gelderlandplein!

I used to come here weekly for the baguettes, but they've made them much smaller for the same price! It's deflationary. I've decided to get my bread elsewhere. I think this is a shame, as I've been coming here for years.

There was no menu on the table. I only ordered one coffee. When I got to the cash register, I was charged €4.75 for a coffee! Absolutely absurd! It tasted like ditch water.

I want there with my family the food was good the service was terrible our server was a blond old lady with glasses was very rude and she was shouting that made my kids get really scared she was also talking nonsense and again very rude bad attitude

The waitress was so rude and unprofessional. I wouldn’t wish for someone to go there even if it was my worst enemy.

One of the waiters attitude was absolutely awful she was shouting at us. Not recommended at all.

i would give them a zero if i could. rudest staff i have ever encountered. the waiter was practically shouting at us and our food arrived after a long period of time, not to mention that they have forgotten some of the order. visit this place if youre looking for some rage bait.

We sat there for a total of an hour, and after 30 minutes, we were helped. We received our food separately, 15 minutes apart. Not very pleasant if you want to eat together.

We stopped for coffee and some cake. The coffee was excellent. The lemon cake was as I remember from many decades ago - so so delicious. The service was excellent and the assortment of breads and cakes was very good.

Good bread but the cakes are not always fresh. 2 out of 4 times they were old.

Lovely Amsterdam atmosphere. Nice to have a coffee before going home.

Very nice bakery with tasty pastry. They even have sockets, so you can work there. The ambiente is very pretty and the staff also nice. However, today I decided to sit in the restaurant and I did not get served. After half an hour of waiting and trying to get the attention of the staff, I left. I understand, the staff is busy with the shop, but please dont forget about the people sitting in the restaurant area. I will definitely go again and change my reference, if I have a better experience next time. Update: I went again and the service was much better!

All pastries are made with cow butter. So nothing vegetable.

“It is not office space” told by the staff. So if you want to stay for long time working on laptop. You are not welcomed and will be kicked out!

Very nice lokal bakery that lives up to its ‘eerlijk an lekker’ (honest and tasty) motto. Multiple area stores. Traditional methods. Convenient mall location with a good selection of breads, pastries, cakes, and coffees. Good option if you’re looking for breakfast or a sweet treat during the day. Friendly service.

Friendly staff and tasty bread and pastries. There is an adjacent bar with tables inside and outside. Prices in line with Amsterdam standards (expensive).

Very delicious sourdough bread and bagels

Great coffee, food was okey, bit pricey for the quality. We experienced a very unpleasant and agressieve staff member towards another customer asking for some sugar for her coffee that real shocked us and just wanted to make us leave. The shop itself felt cosy and nice though. Not a great experience for us unfortunately.

We wanted to eat something and drink coffee here. A very rude older lady works there. 3 people were refused because she felt there was no room. She ordered a lady to sit at another table so that the 3 could sit there. I had to put my bag on the other side of the couch. When I commented that I had never experienced such service before, the waitress snapped that I certainly don't live in Amsterdam. We then left and found another restaurant.

To good to go, picked it up here and very satisfied with the contents. Sympathetic staff and I have been coming to them since the 1960s, when their first store was in Diemen, where they already left a good impression on my young heart.

Beautiful shop, friendly staff and you can enjoy delicious food in the restaurant next door, highly recommended! 😁

I had a slice of chocolate cake here but it was disappointing. Food: the flavor was too sweet for me, and it was too dry. Service: I couldn’t get a fork when I requested. They just said they don’t have. I understand they might not have forks for take away, but because I was intended to stay in Gelderlandplein, so I even can burrow the one for dine in fork and get it back to them. Atmosphere: I can’t evaluate this because I have never eaten something inside here.

They sell the best "spekkoek"! Their bakery products all look delicious as well.

Very nice bakery! Actually underrated I’d say. The (big) croissant were very delicious. Also the curly pastry with almond was great. Prices are normal (big croissant was 1.95), surely not an exaggeration. Also the staff working there was so kind and the guy at the counter was very nice good to see them! It gives the vibe of a real bakery but they have also space for tables and to sit which is top! Great option if you are in the area and don’t wanna bother to in the city center

Got a croissant and a coffee here - the pastry was decent and the coffee was good. The staff were helpful and quick to take my order. Smelled really nice in there. Maybe a bit on the expensive side.

We tried this bakery three times now. Twice their apple pie, which was just terrible, and one time a pudding cake, which was okay, but definitely below average. But what they all had in common was the terrible perfumed aftertaste that reminded us of the dishwasher. I would definitely not recommend this place.

Staff is rather “special” in their communication with customers. They made a major issue about my dog having a tiny pee ON THE SIDEWALK in front of the place! Unfortunately, I was only carrying poop bags and had no straws on me to assist in clean up the pee on the public sidewalk. Food is mass produced from an industrial kitchen. Better options available in the neighborhood..

Had a really delicious apple pie and a nice cup of coffee. Atmosphere and conviviality was excellent. Even at checkout.

I loved the bread with avocado, tomato and rucula, is the best with capuccino with oat milk, the best combination, perfect for a breakfast.

Zeer klantonvriendelijk. Ik heb het meerdere keren geprobeerd hier, maar iedere keer stuit ik op slechte service (bestelling vergeten, verkeerde bestelling, zeer onvriendelijk personeel, etc) Ook de hygiëne laat wat te wensen over.

I and my wife made breakfast in this baker located in the shopping center of Gelderlandplein in Amsterdam in a beautiful outside table taking one espresso coffee one green tea then one croissant with cheese and another croissant with raspberry Jam and at final one bagel with salmon all good abundant delicious. The Peruvian waitress polite welcome charming very competent the service very fast and prices really good.

Konden niet wachten met eten. Broodje warme pastrami was echt geweldig. Avocado toast met zalm was ook echt genieten

Fijne bakkerij. Prettig geholpen door de dames van de bakkerij. Heerlijke producten,brood ,gebak chocolade,bolletjes ,puntjes. Om maar een klein stukje van alle heerlijke producten te noemen. Wist u dat u ook punten kunt sparen bij bakker jongejans. En heeft u al kennis gemaakt met het to good to go pakket via de app. Wees er wel snel bij want de boxen zijn populair,en gevuld met heerlijke producten.👍👍👍👍👍🍞🥐🥖🍰🎂

Erg lekkere spullen, maar 5,45€ is wel erg duur voor een hamkaascroissant en twee soepstengels!?

Altijd vers brood, of het nu een challe is, bagels of brandnetelbrood. Met oud en nieuw ook heerlijke oliebollen. Echt een aanrader.

Great quality mediocre portions

Stopped for a quick bite on Xmas eve day. A good bakery with the option to have sandwiches and koffie. We had thee, grilled cheese sandwich and a bagel with chicken and cheese. Even though is was super busy, service was excellent. Food was fresh and the taste was good. The grilled cheese sandwich was actually fantastic! Would definitely stop by again

Koffie is heerlijk! En lunchkaart is erg lekker, vooral de tosti's. Service duurt alleen vaak erg lang, heb meermaals een half uur moeten wachten op een tosti. Dus prima bakkerij als je de tijd heb , maar minder als je nog andere plannen hebt!

De amandel koekjes waren lekker. Maar de saucijzenbroodjes waren zuur.

Lekkere belegde broodjes voor de lunch.

Met zijn tweeën geweest voor cappucino en gebak. Koffie is goed en gebak vond ik erg lekker omdat de suiker in het gebak niet overheerste maar de andere smaken ondersteunde. Drukke zaak. Vriendelijk personeel. Soms wat langer wachten.
