Amazing place! Best champagne list in the city!

Got told over 45 minutes (22.15) before closing time on a Saturday night that we missed the last round and that they were closed?!

Such a happy find! Everything about Bar du Champagne was wonderful! The food, the atmosphere and the service! The only thing that I regret was not buying their merch! I will be coming back!!!

It’s my favorite bar in Amsterdam. No fuss, great ambiance, food and uncountable champagne to choose from. Giovanne and all the room team know their thing and are not pedantic. Couldn’t recommend more.

Great spot. The bar bites are amazing (had the artichoke, foie gras, charcuterie.. all great). Wonderful selection of champagnes and a great, knowledgeable staff.

I popped in for a quick glass of champagne before a dinner reservation on a Saturday night. They do not take reservations and the place was fairly full, but it was just me so luckily I was able to find a seat at the bar. The service was so attentive: they took my coat and hung it up for me. The bartender was able to make a suggestion based on my liking. The price is a bit more expensive in comparison to other bars in the area, but the atmosphere is upscale so the price matched the experience. I had a great time here and although I cannot comment on the food, I would love to come back for dinner sometime.

Very unique place in Amsterdam. The quality of champagne is impressive, the leve of service is michelin 3 star level. Even if you have no idea about champagne (like myself) you will enjoy big time, because they will give good recommendation based on your preferences. This is a great venue if you’re into Champagne and food. Cozy atmosphere with a fantastic wine list, boasting a combination of renowned and upcoming producers. Prices are very decent! The food is comforting and supportive towards the wine driven concept. Must visit!

Friday evening 10 pm , no snack/ food was served. It will be nice to have smt small with the champagne , nothing elaborate was required, but nuts or olive. But no. You just get your drinks. Also smell of mold is very present.

We have been before and it was good so we thought we would do a repeat of it last night but we walked out angry. Upon entering it was already noticeable that the music was so loud with a DJ who apparently has ADE aspirations. We are put at a table, we quickly sit next to each other because it is not possible to understand each other, so we ask for a place at the bar, which was no problem according to the waiter because a place became available for us. After only some water, we didn't see any more service for 20 minutes, after which we also saw the spot at the bar pass us by. We got out, grabbed our coats and no one asked anything except the aspiring DJ behind the controls who was looking a bit sheepishly at us as we walked out the door. Never had such a bad catering experience and it's a shame because it was once really fun and good.

Just stopped by for a drink. Being able to order a nice bottle of Champagne. Very pleasant and knowledgeable staff. Nice selection of wines and a cozy, attractive place. Recommended!

Geweldig restaurant met heerlijke champagnes en bijzonder vriendelijke bediening! Tip: vraag vooral advies over de champagnes, wij bestelden een fles die we anders zelf nooit op de kaart hadden gevonden. En bestel de focaccia, die is goddelijk!

Gewoonweg fantastisch zitten op het terras, genieten van fijne, laagdrempelige service en super creatieve gerechten en heerlijke champagne per glas. Komen zeker snel weer terug!

Eten is uitzonderlijk goed. Ruime keuze bijzondere champagnes per glas. Terras is niet heel sfeervol maar ligt meer aan de locatie. Bediening is ok maar dat pedante obertje met die piepstem schenkt wel hele zuinige glazen. Swso een irritatie factortje en reden dat ik toch voortaan bij Marie op het terras ga. Jammer.

My home away from home in Amsterdam. The team is absolutely wonderful. The champagne list is one of the best in the Netherlands and maybe even all of Europe. The menu changes each month so there is always something new to pair with a delicious bottle of champagne. I highly recommend. 🥂

Great selection of nice champagnes. Inside it is a bit 'cosy' a.k.a. cramped. However the bites (steak tartare and oysters) are great. Definitely recommend it for a nice glass of champagne and some light bites or oysters to celebrate life!

Great reception. Directed to table and brought menu straight away. Then forgotten for a long time. Finally was graciously allowed to order a glass of champagne and a small plate. Was entertaining to watch sommelier filling everyone's water glasses with an unusual, hyperactive OCD obsession, but an hour later still no food. Lots of excuses about internal communication, but at the end of the day never received my food while my champagne went flat. Just another typical, rotten Amsterdam lack of service/bad service while being overcharged by amateurs making excuses. And then the surprise of having to pay 2,50 euro for tap water. Verschrikkelijk Never again.

Fine place for a drink and a snack. Food is tasty but portions a bit small for the price the steak tartare was very tasty. Service is attentive. We sat on the terrace which was really nice.

June 2023 A really nice place for getting a real good glass of champagne. Lot's of choices here and with nice weather they have a terrace in front. In side it's cosy and you can sit nicely on the bar overlooking the small kitchen. Small it might be but a lot of good dishes come out of the kitchen. Full of flavour, simple but with that extra touch and nice combinations. Loved the food.

I stumbled upon Bar du Champagne on a recent trip to Amsterdam and I am so glad that I did... after a long, but wonderful, day walking around and enjoying the city, I was pleasantly greeted with a friendly staff and fantastic glass of champagne. I sat next to some fellow tourists and the ambiance made it natural to strike up a friendly conversation! I didn't eat, but I watched the team prepare an assortment of goodies with a fine attention to detail. I hope to return on a future trip!

Pretty extensive wine list. But the good wines are EXTREMELY overpriced (I’ve seen some being 5x). Places like this are bad for the wine community in my opinion. The crowd was mostly swanky ignorant people drinking without any knowledge, keen to pay ridiculous sums. It’s a corner of Dubai in Amsterdam. Fake, loud, trashy. Where are the real Bar a Vin? Where is the joy for wine at a fair price? What is the wine world becoming, just another way to show off how much you can spend? Service was good.

Wat een leuke bar! Even wat anders dan de standaard tenten in de stad, personeel is super vriendelijk en ambiance is erg prettig. De champagne en het eten passen super bij elkaar, wat ervoor zorgt dat je echt een gedenkwaardige tijd hebt hier.

Echt een must voor de champagne liefhebber, en ook fantastisch eten erbij. Er zit ook een mooie winkel bij met champagne s in alle categorieën .

Seriously top. The menu changes regularly and is always outstanding. The staff and champagne is so excellent. Grower champagnes galore and the staff truly understand the intricacies of each house. We are locals and go here often. I wish I could give it a one star so no one else goes and we can keep it all to ourselves 💕 truly a gem of Amsterdam

Lovely spot in the centre! They're extremely knowledgeable on champagne and the food is amazing too. Quite pricey - but you would expect it from a champagne bar. Fancy clientele too - but again, to be expected! Will certainly visit again.

Loved my experience and would highly recommend for a group of friends or a date night! Such a great upscale yet trendy restaurant vibe. I got the fortaleza blanco tequila on the rocks, my friend ordered champagne, which is what they are known for of course. They have relationships with 30+ champagne houses and also have amazing food. We just got salad + bread with lard, which was solid and the right amount since we were getting dinner at a different place. We walked in on a Thursday at 6pm and there were not many people. The staff/service was fantastic. They sell merch (shirts and hoodies). The upstairs spot is a hidden gem and has an 8-10 person table- you can rent it out for a private party / private tasting event which you can inquire over email.

Perfect spot to escape the touristy hustle and bustle of Rokin to pop some champagne! Here is what I can say: The bar is clearly run by a team that is serious about champagne. The selection is focused on grower champagne but bigger houses are also well represented. By the time of my visit we could choose from an extensive bottle list, but it seems they also plan to have a retail space that will allow drinking on premise with some additional corkage fee. We settled for a nice bottle of Blanc de Blancs from Mesnil sur Oger and some snacks to go along with that. Pretty decent bread, butter and olives up first, later a toasted brioche with seared foie gras. Good stuff to pair with our bubbles. Relaxed, low key vibes, solid grub, excellent choice of champagne and an enthusiastic owner & team. A must try for champagne lovers!
