Great old Amsterdam bar, can get busy when ajax are playing. Good beer selection, and not expensive. Highly recommended. On the down side, it has the worst gents toilet in Holland, and no Heineken on tap.

Pub definetly have the soul. Unique stylish based on? I dont know exactly what but photos get a real murder climate :D Definetley worth to try for a shot of gin or quick beer. Also smell inside is ordinary in a good and in bad way. For big plus is all the games included in the bar, if You do not enjoy the time You can play Jenga or diffrent traditional games.

The perfect pub in Amsterdam. Always cozy and friendly staff! I always recommend chatting with the owner, Bea, who's a real ray of sunshine. Shuffleboard, slot machines, a pool table—you name it, it's all there. Enjoy the wonderful Amsterdam atmosphere, whether you're sitting at the bar or relaxing with your own group at a table. They organize plenty of events worth attending, including karaoke, drinks, pub quizzes, and more.

Great bar with a very attentive owner. Often been there at different times and always so nice! “Gezelligheid” as they say here!

Amazing café. One of the only cafés in de Pijp that captures the true old Dutch cafés. Friendly service, the “Amsterdammer” way. Really recommended for both locals as tourists. Tip: order the “gehaktbal” (meatball), truly Dutch, fresh from the Butcher across the street.

We made a small stop here, with some drinks and a small snack. Friendly and fast service with excellent prices. Top.

Genoten op het terras . Ik was er al een keer geweest en ze wisten nog precies wat ik dronk !!! Dat is pas service .Warm en gezellig . Waar is het feestje , daar is het feestje . Love it .

This is the greatest bar I’ve ever been to. The service is awesome, the vibe is great, and the selection of games is beyond fantastic! I would advise it to anybody; going to take my family there next week, honestly the most authentic and enjoyable location I’ve ever been to, if you’re ever in Amsterdam, go here for a secured good time that emulates the beautiful nature of the Netherlands whilst also being emblematic of the word: ‘gezellig’. It exudes not only a good time, but a safe place to be, couldn’t have anything better to say; come to Cafe Hermes!!

Hermes. Het is geen wonder dat dit toevluchtsoord dezelfde naam draagt als de Griekse God van de gastvrijheid, de reizigers, de wegen en de dromen. In hartje De Pijp is – geheel tegen de stroom in – een baken van authenticiteit te bezoeken. Conform het ethos van zowel de Godheid Hermes als de Goedheid Bea is iedereen welkom. En dit voel je. Hoewel het als ervaring an sich met geen pen te beschrijven is, zal ik toch een poging wagen om het café te duiden; al is het maar om mijn hoge beoordeling te onderbouwen. Binnen zijn er allerhande spellen te beleven die neigen naar een harmonieuze uitwerking onder de aanwezigen. Aan de bar kan men van vers Amstel bier genieten. Zoals een waardig bruin café betaamd is het niet onwaarschijnlijk dat hier een blokje kaas of een plakje worst bij wordt geserveerd. Buiten kan men in alle rust en hopelijk ook zon het roerige Amsterdamse straatleven aanschouwen. Dat dit café enkele jaren geleden haar beëindiging heeft weten tegen te gaan is een zegen. In eerste instantie zal men denken dat dit haast wel het werk moet zijn van een Goddelijke interventie, maar bij nadere beschouwing zal men moeten erkennen dat de eer moet gaan naar de volharding van Bea en haar vaste gasten.

Leuke tent. Spelletjes binnen terrace buiten. Biljart jammergenoeg niet relevant. Was bedekt met twee spoelbakken erop en zowiezo niet genoeg ruimte. Sjoelen is ook leuk en oer Hollands. Toen ik er was liepen er 2 ongelooflijk irritante donker gekleurde enters steeds naar binnen en buiten zonder consumptie. De bar-persoon loste dat vrij goed op. Dom volk. Ik had medelijden met de situatie.

Ouderwets gezellige kroeg zonder pretenties. Een aanrader!

Fate brought us to this bar and we we're blown alway.... The decoration is next-level - a diverse collection of retro dutch items. The vibe is welcoming and they have lots of fun games to play. We played 'sjoelen' and Jenga with extra big blocks. Bea (the owner) was running the place by herself on a Thursday and she's a wonderful host :)
