Lovely place. Delicious food, friendly and helpful staff, nice decor, and a great vibe!

I have to say that I had a certain expectation on this place and then they exceeded it with the food. The menu is wide and with lots of variations. The also cater for ur allergies. The plate is full filling and delicious. Staff are friendly

I didn't eat, but I drank a small beer. Great music and atmosphere, I recommend it.

Enjoy a delicious Chai latte. A very cozy and beautifully decorated bar with very friendly staff. And one in particular: the cat. What a sweetheart! A real cuddly toy.

Been there for brunch on a Thursday morning. Very quiet and peaceful. Food was really nice, big portions. coffee nice as well.

A very cozy spot, also great to rent for a birthday or other party. Super easy to get to, and the park is nearby and very affordable!

The price is high, and it's best to book in advance, but you can also just walk by and get lucky. It was quiet on rainy days, but it was manageable then, and rainy weather is typically Dutch.

Delicious meatball and loaded fries rendang with apple pie for dessert, fast service and not very expensive, highly recommended

Si este no es el bar de barrio perfecto no sé qué es. Buena comida, asegúrate de probar las costillas coreanas y especialmente el pulpo. Una buena selección de cervezas, vino a precio asequible y un servicio eficiente y amable que está atento sin ser exagerado. Además, dale la vuelta al gato mirando la escena.

Surprisingly nice food in surprisingly generous portions. Great cocktails and lemonades, a selection of beers too. The place looks great, it ia cozy inside, and sitting outside on a nice day is lovely. The cat is a bonus.

A bit out of the way in a modern neighbourhood. Great space for events with upstairs, downstairs and outdoor area. An interesting menu with an Asian inspired twist.

On January 25, we had a 3-course dinner with our fraternity in the separate upstairs area at Bar Hout. It was, in one word, amazing!!! A super beautiful and atmospheric space, a delicious meal, we could play our own music via Spotify and we were received very hospitably by the friendly staff. Highly recommended for larger groups! We really enjoyed it. Thank you very much again!!

We were here 2 evenings in a row, there's really nothing more to say 😀 The Cesar Salad e.g. B. is super original, and you rarely find that!

The food is of good quality, the portions are a bit small. But this is neatly indicated by the waiting staff. The boy serving was a little less excited about his work this evening, but that's probably a one-off.

Delicious food in this attractive tent. The shared dining concept comes into its own here. The Korean ribs are especially recommended! The service could be better: it took almost an hour for our dishes to arrive (on a Tuesday evening), a mistake was made with the order (which was neatly corrected on the bill) and we had to serve the service ourselves 2/3 times. calling to order drinks. All in all, highly recommended, hopefully the flaws will disappear with time.

We had a group of 20 ish people who showed up for dinner after a work event, the people at the restaurant thankfully accepted us into the bar, but the food served was invisible. We got one bread, one chicken starter dish, one meat starter dish, and one dish of boiled potatoes- to be shared by 2 people and all in small tapas bowls. And guess the price we paid later- €31.5 each. The staff was obviously kind and nice throughout and I understand it’s not their fault but maybe the fault of the kitchen for the poor portions Response: That night when asked about food quality and quantity- we did express that we were still hungry, and not satisfied. It was not just me, but 3 other people who expressed the same. If you think this is injustice, I can ask the 3 other people to post another 1 star review as well. I was initially kind about the service staff as I thought it’s not their fault if there is less food on the table, but don’t think they deserve it as well.

Hier kom ik NOOIT MEER! We zaten hier vaak als het mooi weer was! Maar dat is nu echt niet meer het geval! De service/bediening is superslecht! Je wordt scheef aangekeken als je drinken besteld, en als je glas leeg is krijg je ook geen nieuwe aangeboden! Als je even met een beetje volume lacht wordt je weggepest. Maar wel eerst wachten tot de tekening boven de 160,- is… want ja dan heb je al een beetje omzet, want verder was het terras helemaal leeg! De eigenaar mag écht wel even iets aan zn service doen, want dit is geen normale manier van een bar runnen!!

Last week in the evening with a large group (60 people) we enjoyed a 3-course menu with shared dining dishes. Great that there was a separate room upstairs for us with our own roof terrace. We all enjoyed it.

We had lunch here after a visit to the Het Schip museum, which is within walking distance (also highly recommended). Friendly welcome and service by the host. We had the avocado toast and eggs benedict (salmon). Generous portions and great taste. The Verdejo offered for a house wine price was tasty. A glass of tap water was no problem. Pleasant ambiance.

Super good food, cozy place + nice terrace

Heerlijke lunch, leuke locatie en aardige bediening. OKONOMIYAKI was een schot in de roos. Nooit geproefd, maar wat een heerlijke Japanse met groenten gevulde pannenkoek. Ook Oesterzwammen met flatbread en houmous was erg smakelijk. Alles ook nog voor een schappelijke prijs.

I wouldn't recommend it, we waited an extremely long time for excessively small portions. The evening before we had a great 7-course meal in a nearby restaurant, which is why we also had high hopes for the BAR HOUT, unfortunately we were deeply disappointed. When I say dishes to share, I mean something different. What was served here were appetizers. First and last time. Thank you!

We entered BAR HOUT with high expectations, lured by the numerous positive reviews online. However, our anticipation quickly turned to frustration. From the moment we arrived it was clear that the service was severely understaffed – a single waiter struggled through the entire place, leading to significant waiting times. We ordered four different dishes hoping for a varied culinary experience. However, the portions were ridiculously small and completely insufficient to satisfy our hunger. Despite the high cost of 60€ for two people, we left the restaurant hungry and disappointed. The quality of the food could not justify the minimum quantity and the value for money was completely unacceptable. During our visit, we even heard the staff openly admit that many guests complain about the size of the portions. It's beyond me how there can be so many positive reviews for this place - it almost makes you suspicious and raises questions about their authenticity. In conclusion I can only say that BAR HOUT was a bitter disappointment. I advise everyone not to eat here so as not to be similarly disappointed. The experience here was nothing but a complete rip off. Avoid this place!

The Japanese pancake was delicious and the atmosphere was good. It just took a very long time before food and drinks were served, perhaps also because there was a large group next to us.

Unfortunately everything took a very long time, even when we entered no one came to us. We had a coupon deal but ended up spending a lot more because the food didn't come, everyone ordered more because we were hungry. For 29.50 per person (coupon) they were mini snacks and not full meals and not everything tasted equally good. We had ordered fries and hamburgers, but suddenly the fries arrived on the table after 2.5 hours, which was part of it 😳 also because we had little ones, we left without dessert, everything just took way too long... it was included in the coupon deal, but we couldn't get that either, the answer was only "no" and the man at the counter walked away. Very impersonal we felt ignored. We will never come back . PS at the end a new employee suddenly came who paid attention to us, but we were already leaving, a blonde girl (just wanted to say)

Very nice special offer (10 dishes for €29). Great ambiance, superrelaxed. Dishes are slightly different than in promotion video. Each dish has its own strong or particular flavour: very well thought of per dish. Cocktails are good.

Surprisingly good tent! Very atmospheric, cozy and really tasty food. Operation super smooth and relaxed. This is really recommended.

Good bar with great food. We were here as group what gave us an opportunity to try almost all things from the to-share menu and a burger from the specialty menu. And we liked everything, but kimchi beignet and steak were the best. Maybe I would expect more pieces of Tuna in Tuna tataki. I liked decor and atmosphere in general, but it was a bit too noisy. Also, tables were too close to each other. Our table was a bit sticky. But overall I can recommend the place. It seems to be one of the best in the area so far

Bar hou is a beautiful place in the Houthavens. I was there yesterday with my sons for lunch after our BMS. I wanted to treat my kids and they love the food. I would love to come back there again. Friendly service. Alert and with the right service attitude. Perhaps the pricing is a bit high, but I think the real estate market is responsible for that. I think it's a shame that prices are so high everywhere in Amsterdam, including Hout. Honestly.

I think Young Neighbarhout with the pass where we as neighbors get a discount is a great idea! It's really nice that something is being organized for the young people in the area.

Topplek om de borrelen. Eten is altijd goed op smaak. Echt fijn om deze zaak in de buurt te hebben! Komen hier al sinds het begin. Goede bar voor feestjes ook boven!

We were here with our baby and it is a chill place with a pleasant relaxed atmosphere and good music. We had the Angus Burger, Tuna Tataki (roasted tuna/sashimi) and Cheddar Chicken Tosti. All very tasteful. The lattes were hot and the homemade ice tea was quite good. Suitable for wood removal.

We ended up being a big group and had a wonderful dinner at Bar Hout. They were so accommodating and welcoming. Service was exceptional and the food and atmosphere were really nice. So thank you for hosting us!

If you occasionally visit the edges of Amsterdam, this is a great place to have a nice lunch. Dinner is also possible, but that for next time. We went for the chicken sandwich and the Angus burger, served with a delicious chardonnay. Then the top service from David and Jos makes it complete. We will be back!!

Incredibly delicious food, nice music, good service!

Mooie, rustige locatie bij binnenkomst een fijn, knus en warme sfeer. Vriendelijke dame die ons gedag zegt en ons al verwacht(gereserveerd). 2x kipsandwich 1, hour friet, 1, rode, 1z rose en fles bruisend water. Totaal €35,35 (gebruik gemaakt van een coupon) Eten, drinken en service was geweldig, mooi gepresenteerd op het bord. Echt een aanrader, komen zeker nog een keer terug!

Delicioso!!!! The food is fantastic!!!!! It’s a 10 and definitely you have to try it. The service is friendly and fast and the atmosphere is cozy and casual. The only thing they have to improve are the toilets…. No towel or paper to dry hands and missing soap…. That’s why 4 stars…. But overall it’s a great place for dinner!!!

Eten was uitstekend. Helaas was de muziek net iets te veel op de voorgrond.

We hebben hier heerlijk gegeten. Alle hoofdgerechten waren heel smaakvol. Wel wat klein (tuna tataki en beef tataki) dus bijgerechten waren zeker noodzakelijk. Het terras is een relaxte plek en voor kinderen is het heel fijn omdat het is gelegen aan een grote speeltuin. Ze hebben veel lekkere drank keuze en lekker (speciaal) bier. De service van de bediening mag wat mij betreft iets scherper en meer aanwezig zijn. Al met al: lekker plekje en we komen zeker een keer terug. Ben benieuwd geworden naar de lunch!

Great place to drink and celebrate with friends

Wat kun je daar heerlijk eten. Allerlei gerechtjes met een Aziatische touch geen woorden voor. Voor de eerste keer daar geweest maar ga er zeker terug komen.

Staan lekkere gerechtjes op de kaart , helaas geen passie in de keuken . Eten wordt lauw /koud geserveerd (slechte timing) zelfs de frietjes die toch goed aan de prijs zijn weten ze te ver ..... vul zelf maar in . Aangegeven bij de bediening maar helaas deed die er niets mee. ( ze zou het doorgeven aan de keuken ) geen reactie terug . Dus niet overall , jammer maar zeker geen 4,4 sterren waard zoals hierboven vermeld .

Een hele mooi tent op een fijne locatie. Goede service en ontzettend lekker eten. Wij waren met een groep en zijn niks te kort gekomen.

Heel gezellig! We waren er met een Brazilian Night en hebben ons echt uitstekend vermaakt. Het eten was heerlijk, net als de cocktails. De sfeer was goed en relaxt. Het was self service, mogelijk door personeelstekort (we hebben niet gevraagd waarom, dus dat is gissen), maar dat paste ook wel weer bij de relaxte sfeer van de avond. Al met al, een heerlijk avondje uit.

Al een aantal keer geweest voor lunch en borrel en altijd even gezellig. Heerlijk terras en de gerechten zijn met aandacht bereid. Leuke vriendelijke bediening. Zeker een aanrader!

We were there for the celebration of our daughters wedding. There is a place upstairs where we had our dinner and the party afterwards. The place has a roof-terras, and with good weather ( which we had) this was briljant. The dinner was shared dining with a variety of asian /eastern type of dishes. All of them were very good! We were on a tight schedule because of everything that happens during the familydinner, but the staff was wonderfull in working around that. I could see that it was hard work, i understood that they were understaffed, but they all stepped up and worked harder to make the party a succes. My compliments to the team that made the party memorable, by being in the background and working hard.
