What a pleasant surprise! Because this restaurant is located right in the middle of Leidseplein, I honestly didn't have the highest expectations. Often, restaurants in such tourist locations focus more on the location than on the quality. Fortunately, the opposite turned out to be true here. From the very first contact, the service was excellent. The lady who handled our reservation really did her best to arrange a table for our group. My sincere compliments for that. Also, a special mention for Ramses, our host. We were a group of nine people on a work outing, and he guided us fantastically throughout the evening. His advice on the meat and wines was excellent, and he ensured that everything ran smoothly. Professional, friendly, and very hospitable – a real asset to the restaurant. The restaurant itself has a nice atmosphere and a beautiful appearance. The DJ played wonderful music at exactly the right volume: pleasantly present, but without being disruptive during dinner or conversation. And then the most important part: the food. The meat was top quality and perfectly prepared. As far as I'm concerned, an absolute 10. The service also gets a 10. In short: great food, excellent service, a nice atmosphere, and a fantastic evening. To be honest, I hadn't expected this in such a touristy location as Leidseplein, but I would love to come back here. Highly recommended!

Cozy restaurant. Unfortunately waited over 30 minutes for our starters, our main was shoved infront of us before we even finished it so felt very rushed. When the main arrived the chips were obviously straight from the oven but the steak was cold & rare instead of medium rare, we’d not eaten all day so made do.

Loved everything about our visit! The food was amazing (the lamb is a must-try, and the chips are fresh, not frozen!). Huge shoutout to our waiter Diana for being so attentive and making the night great. 10/10 we will definitely be back!

Shitty service and shitty waiter!!!! I came to try the dry aged tomahawk steak but they were very rude !!!! Standing for 7 minutes no one approached ne and rhe. She came and acted very annoyed that I should come up to them and enquire about the kitchen and should order very fast !!! And acting annoyed

Unfortunately, I can't yet comment on whether the food tastes good. We arrived at the restaurant at 8:00 PM. Very friendly welcome. Then we had to wait 20 minutes. If I hadn't stopped the waitress from clearing the table, we still wouldn't have been able to order anything... 30 minutes later, the appetizer arrived, which was really delicious. Now it's 9:35 PM. We're waiting, and waiting, and waiting. I know the saying that in a good restaurant, the customers wait for the food, not the other way around, but you can overdo it. The food is recommendable (so far, I can only recommend the appetizer). The ambiance is also good. FYI: There are only two of us. In my opinion, this is a waste of time! Service is nonexistent!!!

We had an awful experience at Steak Club Leidse. THREATENED BY THE SECURITY!! 4 of us went for a spontaneous meal and thought that the steak house looked lovely, we ordered drinks, starts and mains all together. When the food came out the order was wrong. Two of the steaks had been cooked incorrectly, my steak was meant to be medium-well and came out rare. Another steak was meant to be medium-rare and came out medium-well. One of our sides didn't turn up until the meal was finished, of which we returned. We also received someone else's side which got taken off of our table a couple of minutes later! Everything seemed very rushed. When we came to pay, the bill came to €300. We queried the bill and said that the service was really poor, the food was wrong, and that we shouldn't be paying for a service that wasn't provided! The waiter walked over to the till, no verbal acknowledgement to us personally. He knocked off €20 and then aggressively said, "cash or card?" I asked to speak to a manager, he replied to tell me that he was the manager before storming off to the security outside the front, where we were threatened to pay! Feeling rather intimidated, we had THREE security members overlooking us paying the bill. We hesitantly paid the bill and informed the manager that we would be leaving a review, to which he didn't look very bothered!!

The service was amazing. The food was spectacular. I really recommend the Cote de Bœuf. Definitely coming back again.

Martin was the best waiter ever

Dropped in just roaming the streets as the music drew me in. As a lover of all music and a DJ myself, the vibe was what was needed. It is not spacious but the bar is quite long and I didn’t have to wait long for drinks. For an open format vibe, the spot was the best of the night.

Waited 1.5 hours for our food + cocktails. They were supposed to be 10 euros on a Saturday, but we still paid the full price. Also, a free shot was promised but never received!!! Not recommended.

Poor quality for the price... French fries almost cold, 4 out of 6 steaks cold, not cooked medium as requested, some meat was tough. The vegan burger was bland, the patty too hard. Service was slow, we asked repeatedly but they still didn't understand. Drinks only arrived after multiple requests. No one even asked. Meat quality substandard for a steakhouse. Staff just stood around... Never again. Avoid this restaurant if you want a good meal.

i went here with my partner and we had a strange experience, we were completely upsold, we where lied to about portion sizes and were given a large bottle of water when only one of us asked for a glass of water. the steaks were well done while we asked for medium rare. we didn’t ask to get it remade because we waited for 45 minutes in a empty restaurant and we were too hungry to wait any longer. steak and fries were already almost cold when we received them, we also saw the hostess giving the bartenders a weird look when some younger teens wanted to be seated, as if we wouldn’t see her weird looks. would definitely not recommend going here.

Waited 1HR+ for my steak, people around us that got their order before us even though they arrive later. The people were nice but it doesnt matter, ordered well done ribeye and got it medium rare anyways. Not worth the 1hr wait.

I think it’s a tad pricey for what you get 🤪 Maybe it’s because it’s in AMS.. idk But it was nice!

I brought my wife here for our wedding anniversary. She asked for a divorce.

My husband took me there for our wedding anniversary. I filed for divorce! The menu doesn't match what's advertised! The sharing platters were so small there weren't enough, and he ate everything. We ordered a ribeye steak, and let's just say it was more like a child's steak! However, the meat was still very good, which was the only positive point. On the other hand, the waiter asked to round up the bill; from 60 euros, he asked for 70. I'd rather leave it at that. Why: Don't go to the basement.

I made a last minute booking for Steak Club Leidse as I was travelling over from London with family for a short break. The restaurant didn’t disappoint. The food was great as was the service, and the atmosphere was perfect. I would definitely visit again and happily recommend.

Loved the food!! And the cocktails were the best I’ve tasted so far in Amsterdam, definitely recommend! Atmosphere is calm and you can talk to each other with a good ambient music. Fridays and Saturdays they have club times, music is good and the vibes are there! Recommend coming in winter times for the craziest experience at the club.

The restaurant was cozy, and the waiter was very nice and kind. Unfortunately the waiting time for food was 30 minutes, which was a bit too much. The food was not hot when we got it, and the waited seemed busy and confused, even though there wasn’t many costumers in the bar/restaurant. My fried vegetables, bearnaise sauce and fries were good, but my steak was very dry and over-cooked. Not worth the expensive price. All in all good taste, but not good enough for the price.

One of the best and most hospitable steak restaurants of Amsterdam, with attention to high quality meat and a fair price point.

I have been here a few times and the service is incredible. Once, we ordered the wrong item and they kindly allowed us to send it back for the one we wanted, because it wasn't to our taste. Amazing service and atmosphere. Highly recommend! It has become one of my fav restaurants. Ps: the food is incredible as well.

Nice ambiance, but very chaotic. There were 13 of us and we had made a reservation about two months in advance. When we arrived, our table wasn't ready. We had to wait another 20 minutes until it was ready. Then we could order and had to wait an hour and a half (just two hours) for our food. Then the food arrived, and some of it was simply cold. It's a shame, because the steaks were good and so was everything else, but cold, it just wasn't great. In my opinion, they need to work on the concept a bit.

Very delicious food in a cozy atmosphere. The menu is comprehensive, making it difficult to choose just one of the delicious dishes. The entire staff was very friendly and helpful, especially Raphael, who was very friendly, funny, and accommodating. The "Dutch Apple Pie" is definitely recommended, no matter how full your stomach is.

Superb quality meat! Three of us came with a reservation. The service is catastrophic. Our server has no interest and refuses to serve us an extra portion of fries, saying it takes too long... Halfway cleared the table, making us wait in the entrance to clear a table that ultimately won't be ours... A real shame, the rest is really excellent! A special mention goes to the ribeye, cooked perfectly!
