Good service. Honest dishes, pure and surprising. A decent wine list. They follow the seasons here. Lovely terrace for a lovely French brasserie.

Recommended by Michelin, the waiters are friendly and helpful in explaining the dishes. The dishes are served at a leisurely pace, allowing you to savor them at your leisure. The refreshing salad paired with crispy bread offers a rich flavor. The sea bass salad main course, paired with a lobster, scallop and tomato sauce, has a familiar home-cooked flavor. The dessert is rich and creamy, with a melt-in-your-mouth cheese flavor that's not greasy. It's a truly comforting meal for a group meal.

We dined here as part of a tour group. The meal was excellent and delicious, though the portions were a bit small and delicate. The downside was that the food was slow to arrive, almost waiting until I fell asleep, hahaha, but that might have been due to the large number of people. 1. The bread before the meal was delicious and crispy, with a rich flavor.

I recently visited a restaurant in Oud Zuid for a three-course meal, but the culinary execution left much to be desired. Appetizer The appetizer consisted of mackerel, which was meant to be served cold. Unfortunately, the baby shrimp—intended as a subtle garnish—were served warm, which disrupted the intended contrast. Furthermore, the carrot slices were unevenly sized and undercooked, and the three portions of fish differed in size. As a result, the skin of the largest piece felt particularly rubbery. Entremet Two small scallops were presented as an entremet. The dish was served on a plate that gave off an odd odor, which somewhat marred the experience. Main Course The main course was duck. Although not perfect, it turned out to be the most successful of the evening. The duck had a pleasant flavor and thus provided a subtle contrast to the less successful previous dishes. Service and Ambience The service was generally pleasant. The waitress, in particular, stood out for her professionalism and attentiveness, which certainly enhanced the evening. Although the other two staff members seemed a bit confused, this didn't seriously hinder the overall service. Moreover, the restaurant's spacious and pleasant ambiance offered a welcome change from the often cramped dining spaces in Amsterdam. Conclusion While the Oud Zuid location offered an attractive atmosphere, the menu left something to be desired. The unexpected warm element in a supposedly cold starter—the micro shrimp—was a definite disappointment. The inconsistencies in preparation made the dishes feel inconsistent, making the overall dining experience less than desirable. With a few adjustments to the menu and more consistent execution of the dishes, this restaurant could significantly improve.

Perfect restaurant to stop by before going to a concert. There is a nice vibe, a good wine cart, and the prices are very good for what they offer. Definitely a good place to visit, regardless of the occasion.

Friendly service, tasty food and wine. Michelin guide is spot on: Bib gourmount, fair, higher price. Experience was a bit noisy, loud guests from US I suppose. But that happens everywhere, eapecially in Adam.

Absolutely amazing! This was one of the most enjoyable and delicious dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. The menu was thoughtfully crafted, showcasing refined flavors and exceptional attention to detail. I loved every moment and will definitely be returning to Oud-Zuid!

The food in this place is good, nothing special, but not terrible. My review is solely based on the fact that they ask for tips. It is absolutely unacceptable at a Michelin recommended place.

The wine pairings were thoughtfully selected and paired beautifully with the dishes. The service was fantastic, with knowledgeable and attentive staff who made the experience even more enjoyable. We really appreciated that they didn’t make us feel rushed and even checked in to see how we were for time, which made the evening feel relaxed and personal. For a couple, the value was exceptional, offering a memorable dining experience that felt well worth the price. We can’t wait to come back!

Everything was perfect until dessert, perhaps because a lot of people started arriving but it took them a long time to bring it and to bring the bill after I asked for it! But the food and atmosphere highly recommended

A real gem of a restaurant comprising of an outstanding, ever changing, flavoursome menu set in an amazing building with very welcoming and helpful staff. The menu changes every month and consists of the best french cuisine using locally sourced ingredients. On our visit, there was a choice of meat fish and vegetarian options on each course, and we opted to order the meat and fish on each course to share. The flavours on each course were second to none. Every mouthful was a treat for the tasetbuds Not only was this one of the best and most flavoursome meals my partner and I have ever had it was most certainly the best value for money meal we have ever had and would definitely recommend and rebook if we are in the city again. Food was okay. It was unfortunately really cold in the restaurant, as the door was open until late into the night. I asked the staff, if it would be possible to close the door, and they did for 20 minutes, but then it was open again for the rest of the night. The service at first said that they only sell wine, and we first later were offered also some non alcoholic drinks by the waitor. It would have been nicer, if we could order them from a menu.

Tenía aperitivo de burrata que era excelente. El plato principal parecía ser 1/2 gallina cornish, muy húmeda y servida con batata y tal vez una zanahoria pequeña. En realidad era deliciosa pero pequeña porción.

La comida era muy agradable, la presentación era excelente, aunque uno de mis platos fue sustituido por algo completamente diferente sin previo aviso. El momento de los platos estaba seriamente apagado (demasiado lento, a pesar de que el restaurante solo tiene unas pocas mesas ocupadas). Todavía nos lo pasamos bien poniéndonos al día con los amigos, pero esta experiencia en particular no estaba a la altura del estándar Michelin.

Nice Michelin recommended dining at Oud-Zuid Amsterdam. We tried the seasonal lobster menu which is really good. The farm chicken was amazingly tender as well. Do allocate more time when you are here. Serving is good but a bit slow.

I was disappointed that they didn’t serve tap water or have non-dairy milk (oat milk, for example) for coffee. Seems pretty standard nowadays. The lunch menu pushed prix fixe which was also a bit distasteful. Edit update: rude reply too. Lowered to 1 star. People leave reviews to help give feedback for improvement, not to be insulted back.

Firstly the staff were really kind. They were friendly and always smiling! The food was good but not really impressive. It is a must if you like lobster but it is not my type.

We had dinner here on our vacation to Amsterdam last week and it exceeded all of our expectations. Cozy, classy restaurant; friendly, helpful staff; and truly excellent food. Each course was beautiful and exquisite!

Simple environment, unfortunately like all places outside Italy the mise en place is minimal. The staff is kind and pleasant. The cuisine has Italian influences, and this is a good thing "at least the one found in the evening", We tried: The burrata with asparagus “a little expensive for being 1/2 burrata” Decomposed veal with tuna sauce, Prawn ravioli "even if it was the small version, 2 ravioli are not enough!" “Exceptional” overcooked Basque chicken with fried polenta and lemon Panna cotta was too buttery but overall a good dessert. Drank a French Pinot Noir by the glass

Consistently great quality food. Fresh tartar, tuna, and seabream with lobster vinegarette is decadent yet not too heavy. Wait staff is very friendly too. This is my favorite in the area.

Delicious three course menu, very rich in taste, but left us with a light feeling. Cozy down to earth atmosphere. Edit: light feeling was actually a compliment - I don’t like heavy meals.

Dit restaurant bleek een zeer geslaagde keuze te zijn voor een intiem etentje met vrienden. We zijn hier hartelijk ontvangen door het personeel en kregen een fraaie plek, omringd door kunst, boven de keuken. Bij het diverse aperitief van Champagne van Devaux, een sauvignon blanc uit de Loire-streek en een biologische Grüner Veltliner uit Krems hebben wij genoten van Fine de Claires oesters uit Marennes in de Charente Maritime aan de Atlantische kust. Wat een heerlijke, sappige tractatie voor onze smaakpapillen! Wij zetten onze maaltijd vervolgens voort met in zalm verpakte kreeft en krab respectievelijk geroosterde knolselderie (vegetarisch). Deze gerechten waren voortreffelijk. Na een prima bisque als tussengerecht hebben wij genoten van kabeljauw met humus, pastinaak en wat Noilly Prat (droge vermout) respectievelijk krokante kalfszwezerik met pompoen en bundelzwammen. Niet alleen fraai opgemaakt, maar ook verfijnd qua smaak. Het was een feest om hier te gast te mogen zijn. Wij rekenden voor het diner met drie personen bijna 300 euro af inclusief drankjes, water en heerlijk, warm brood van Menno. Dat vonden een hele nette prijs. De bediening was vriendelijk en vlot (bedankt Roel en de aardige dame van Indische afkomst). Het is een adres waar wij zeker terug zullen komen.

It has been a long time since I was back on site in the heart of Oud Zuid in the restaurant of the same name. Old grandeur in typical Amsterdam brasserie style. With some imagination you can also imagine yourself in old Paris, especially when it comes to the menu. It was fun again. This typical Amsterdam 'Old South' area restaurant resembles closely to the Dutch word 'gezellig' which has no equivalent in English… cozy far away maybe. Anyway, it is worth a visit when in Amsterdam and tastes the flavors that are a mix of French, Dutch and Bistro cuisine.

The chef brags about going here and there to find the best local stuff / he needs to spend more time overseeing his hit or miss kitchen Charming and very friendly but just too many misses - it is close to the concert hall - solid wine list and affordable- just need to step up their game

Walked here for a wonderful dinner on a rainy night. The roasted cauliflower was excellent as were the pumpkin ravioli and the duck breast entree. Ended with a trio of well-selected and appetizingly-presented farmhouse cheeses. The menu was flexibly priced, making it a good value for a great meal. The staff was friendly, if distracted as the restaurant became crowded. A bit noisy as the room filled, but the ambiance was cozy and the meal was a pleasure.

Delicious food, tasty lobster bisque with Dutch shrimps, light duck liver mousse and beautiful softly cooked pink duck breast with surprisingly delicious crispy Jerusalem artichoke layers. Smooth and friendly service. Handy if you need to get to the Concertgebouw on time.

Diner at the Oud-zuid restaurant. It's been a nice moment but I was a tiny disappointed. Service, although friendly was not efficient and food could be better for the price. It's a solid four still and a smart choice if you're around.

Great restaurant tucked into a cozy neighborhood. The service was above par and proof that service in Amsterdam is getting much better after all these years. The meal was very tasty - the risotto was delicious. Again, raising the bar on cuisine in the city. I will be back for sure.

Wij hadden een plezierige eerste echte ontmoeting met mensen (helaas moest één van hen afzeggen) onder het genot van eten en wijn. Het eten was goed van smaak en zag er mooi uit. Als altijd is de akoestiek even wennen als je binnen bent. Voor iemand die een beetje doof is, best lastig, maar ja... Amsterdam. De bediening in eerste aanleg wat stroef, werd in de loop van de avond (minder druk) prettig en goed. Kortom, weer een mooie avond in dit prima restaurant.

Fine dining in the middle of a quiet Amsterdam neighborhood. You must make reservations; don't miss out. 3 to 5 course dining options reasonably priced with a great wine selection per course if you like. This is a very unique and delicious experience that I wouldn't expect to find in such a relaxed and beautiful setting. A must when in Amsterdam.

Amazing food, amazing service and great atmosphere

Un petit restaurant au cœur du quartier des musée servi par une équipe tres souriante, offrant une très bonne cuisine, inventive, des très jolies assiettes et exquises.

牡蠣が美味しい。ワインのマッチングも素敵。 あと、店員さんがまじで、素敵。 「このお店のことが好き」と言う感覚が伝わってくるくらい。 また行きたい。

The food did not meet the expectations. The slow cooked quail and pata nera was extremely salty and lacked a side dish, the taste was unbalanced and unpleasant. The eel terine starter was also unbalanced, too oily from the greasy tempura combined with some green colored mayonnaise. The main course, beef steak, was plain and boring, it lacked contrasting flavors and different textures, meat was cooked ok though.

Essen wunderbar, sehr nette Atmosphäre. Aber unaufgefordert gebrachtes Brot und Oliven für 4,50€ auf der Rechnung sind unangebracht.

Une très belle adresse recommandée par notre hôtel. Un excellent accueil, des plats vraiment délicieux, fins et joliment servis. Cela fait longtemps que je n'avais pas aussi bien mangé. Les frites étaient fantastiques. Tout cela dans une jolie ambiance et avec un personnel avenant. Prix correct au regard du raffinement des plats.

Très bon restaurant. Choix entre 3,4 ou 5 plats. Il y avait à chaque fois une option végétarienne. Le personnel était très sympathique. Nous avons pu réserver le jour même pour y manger le soir, mais à s’y prendre à l’avance pour être certain d’y déguster ces plats.

Nice restaurant where they serve very delicious food! All the dishes were freshly made, well seasoned and tasty but my favorite dish was the main with venison. The service was great and the atmosphere was good. Overall, good experience.

The food in this restaurant is absolutely mind-blowing. I cannot recommend it enough. Especially the duck liver was on a whole nother level. Service was also on point. Professional, knowledgeable, helpful, subtle, friendly, nothing more I could ask for. The restaurant looks like a typical Amsterdam restaurant, but don't be fooled. The dining experience keeps up with with Michillin star restaurants. Also, the wines accompanying the food were a perfect match. Served at the perfect temperature from the climate controlled storage. The combination of food, wine and service makes for a truly special culinair experience. The only room for improvement I see is upgrading the interior to better reflect the high quality this restaurant provides. What a experience. This dinner will stay with me for a long time.

Lovely small and brasserie styled restaurant, food is amazing, prices are fair. Bib Gourmand is well deserved, besides that there curbside parking available which is, for Amsterdam, pretty nice
