The terrace was nice but the food and cocktails were mediocre unfortunatley. While the burger looked good, the worst part was that when you come in larger groups, you are only allowed to order between 3 mains. Even when we asked if they could make an exception for just 3 people, they were not flexible at all. All in all there are much better spots in the area.

Had a great lunch here, lots of covered outdoor seating to enjoy your meal. Friendly staff and imagine is a great spot for an afternoon drink or dinner. Great for people watching. Bonus: efficient bc the ordering and paying was all on the servers phone📱🆒

I love the burger, place in style

I have been to Bar Kaspar many times and it is always a good experience. Food is great. Service is friendly and welcoming. It can be quite busy at times, booking recommended. Outdoor seating is also available.

The cafe/restaurant is extremely expensive, and the service is terrible. I think it is a disgrace that you ask guests to sit somewhere else because friends are coming over! The employee, whom I cannot call a waitress, couldn't resist pulling at our table; it is truly bizarre to treat guests in this way!

I was outside on the terrace, and it's impeccable. The sun shines directly on you, making it perfect for spending the late afternoon.

Went there with friends, worst experience ever. I ordered Flat Iron Steak and asked for well-done. They did note down but served medium. I explained that I really needed well-done steak because I am pregnant; the waiter said “then it will loss its taste and the level being served is suitable for pregnancy.” I am very sure it’s just medium which is dangerous for pregnancy. And waiter should have respected customer needs if they have accepted during ordering. Then the waiter gave me another plate of burned steak. Which I also couldn’t eat. My friend ordered medium, it’s almost raw. Very disrespectful service and not good food for its price.

Today's soup of the day was a five-star review of the Parsnip broth! I loved it so much! The beef was tender and flavorful, the snails were large and juicy, and the chicken and bacon sandwich was generous and very filling. Enjoying such delicious food while basking in the sun was pure bliss! The two waitresses were patient and attentive, absolutely fantastic! 👍

We had a fantastic evening meal here during a weekend city break. One of the best steaks I've had in ages, just one of the tempting choices on the menu, cooked to perfection. The people on the terrace all look like brothers and sisters. Little diversity, a bit boring. And on top of that, it's expensive for nothing, really. You do get the sun in your face at 4 o'clock, but at what cost?

As a regular at Bar Kaspar, I feel the need to share my glowing feedback here as well. We always feel welcome here; the staff are attentive to the guests and ensure they can spend their afternoon or evening here in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. In short, highly recommended for lunch, dinner, or drinks. I love coming here, and by now, our sons are practically part of the family too!

It was the first time my eldest son and I chose Bar Kaspar. Let me get straight to the point: it wasn't the last time. It has a wonderful atmosphere where young and old come together, on the outdoor terrace or in that lovely interior. The menu is another reason to visit Bar Kaspar. And I'm not forgetting the staff. Everything you do in the first five minutes of interaction determines the outcome of your experience. They really understand that there. A large staff of young, enthusiastic people who truly connect with you. Well, last but not least, if your youngest son is spending his first week working in the kitchen there, that's the final good reason to visit this restaurant. I have a high regard for him, both as a son and as a chef, just like the eldest in the photo. Imagine those two boys gone, they're family. Read the rest. Then you know an evening at Zuid is going to be a wonderful one. Reservations are recommended, and that says it all. Enjoy!

There was a lot of attention for the guests, and the dishes were fantastic! A pleasantly busy atmosphere. It was great to have an open kitchen where the kitchen crew relaxed and created the most delicious flavor sensations together!

Went there at 23:25 just to get a drink and even though they were open till 1:00 on that day, they refused claiming the just had a last round. Last round 1.5h before closing?

We had a delicious meal at Bar Kaspar. The dishes were well-seasoned and clearly prepared with care. A beautiful combination of flavors without being too heavy. The service was pleasant and professional; the staff were friendly and attentive to the table without being intrusive. The relaxed atmosphere makes it a pleasant place to dine in peace. All in all, a very good experience and definitely a place we'd love to return to.

Went for drinks after 8pm, Nice vibe

For us, it's a really nice and casual neighborhood restaurant. Very friendly and fast service and delicious bistro food. The mix of customers makes it a cosmopolitan place you might find in New York or Paris. And you'll be happy you did. It's also a great place for a quick bite.

We went for dinner, we loved the atmosphere, the foods was really tasty, and the waitresses were these two young girls that were very friendly, Anik was our waitress and she was so nice, we had been to other restaurants in Amsterdam were the service and attitude of the waitresses was so rude, even when being nice to them, so the service here in Bar Kaspar felt like a wave of fresh air.

Great cozy bar, tasty food for a good price!

We just had a couple of beers at the tables outside. We were served quickly and the waitress was very nice and helped us also when we asked if she could turn on the heater (which apparently was a bit faulty, but eventually it worked).

We visited Bar Kasper in Amsterdam and the first thing that stood out was the atmosphere. The place feels relaxed, casual, and has a really nice vibe that makes it perfect for hanging out with friends or just having a laid-back evening. It works well as both a bar and a restaurant, and the energy of the space is definitely one of its strong points. When it comes to the food, however, it didn’t really surprise us. The menu sounds creative and the prices suggest something a bit more special, but the dishes were pretty average. Nothing bad, just not particularly memorable. For example, the soup was fine, and the snails were decent, but overall the food didn’t match the expectations set by the descriptions. Service was probably the weakest part of the experience. We had to ask for things several times before they arrived, and one of our dishes was actually forgotten, which meant we had to wait longer than expected. The staff wasn’t rude, but definitely not attentive. In the end, I would recommend Bar Kasper more as a spot for a quick meal, a couple of drinks, or a casual beer with friends rather than a place to go for the food itself. The vibe makes it worth a stop.

My wife's hamburger roll was very hard. Otherwise ok. My Brisket, cabbage and apples with green beans was quite good. Service was very good. The atmosphere was great.

We stopped at Bar Kaspar for lunch and were so glad we did. For food, I had the cheese and cornichons sandwich on a baguette, while my companion went for the Black Angus burger. Both dishes were delicious, fresh, and satisfying. The side of fries was a standout—crispy, perfectly seasoned, and hard to resist. We washed our food down with some delicious local beer. We sat by the window and enjoyed watching the city go by, which added to the relaxing vibe. Bar Kaspar feels like the perfect place to unwind, enjoy great food, and rub elbows with the locals. Definitely a spot I’d recommend for anyone in Amsterdam looking for a laid-back yet memorable lunch.

A great place for late-night dining! A warm welcome!

I asked if there was a free table, and they confirmed there was. I sat down, but unfortunately, no one even brought me a menu or paid me any attention for the first ten minutes. It's a shame that you're invited to sit down, but then receive absolutely no help. I find that very frustrating. Unfortunately, I can't comment on the food, as I didn't get to taste it. The service is truly lacking. Personally, I found the atmosphere rather ordinary.

A discovery of a place. It's cozy, nice atmosphere, friendly people, super nice service and absolutely fantastic food. We can really recommend this restaurant! The menu is varied and with a lot to choose from. The food is delicious and delicious. The restaurant is located in a nice area and it's easy to see that many Dutch / Amsted residents choose to use the place as a regular place. There are lots of smiles and friendly chats. Our children aged 7 and 12 really enjoyed the food and would love to go back. This is a restaurant we will definitely go back to.

I had dinner at Bar Kasper on Tuesday 1 July 2025. The staff were friendly and efficient. Our order of two burgers, fries and drinks were delivered in an appropriate time. The burgers were delicious but the meat pattie was very rate. I will order the pattie well done when I next dine at Bar Kasper.

The food was very good, filling, rather large portions especially for the price point. The decor was very nice, and the ambiance was good. Terrace and indoor seating, it got pretty busy for a Monday lunch. Good service. Lemonade was also very good!

I don't know why it's 4,5 star place. I would give to it 10 stars. We tried frites, hamburger and Caesar salad (BTW the best Caesar salad I've ever eaten) and all it was great!

Philly cheese steak was very good here

Have eaten here often with family and always with great pleasure. It's just a really nice place, in a nice place with a diversity of people who come and pass by. Menu card is also good. Staff super nice. However, today the effect was a bit disappointing. For example, we ordered a baguette with steak tartare, there was nothing wrong with that, and the Holtkamp shrimp croquettes on bread.. The Holtkamp croquettes were 2 tiny croquettes on 2 slices of white dry bread, which was certainly not the freshest bread... That's what made this dish so poor. Just serve good fresh bread with the croquettes (and butter!). The croquettes were also greasy... No, I really didn't like that.

It took quite a while for the food to arrive. We sat on the terrace, but because all the people smoked we were exposed to the smelly air. At least that wasn't their fault because that's allowed. Tasty food

Nice food but too bad the fries were forgotten and that you get them when the main course is almost finished. Don't say the fries are coming when you see that the kitchen still has to throw them in the fat. But otherwise great place.
