We had a delicious meal at Bar Kaspar. The dishes were well-seasoned and clearly prepared with care. A beautiful combination of flavors without being too heavy. The service was pleasant and professional; the staff were friendly and attentive to the table without being intrusive. The relaxed atmosphere makes it a pleasant place to dine in peace. All in all, a very good experience and definitely a place we'd love to return to.

Went for drinks after 8pm, Nice vibe

For us, it's a really nice and casual neighborhood restaurant. Very friendly and fast service and delicious bistro food. The mix of customers makes it a cosmopolitan place you might find in New York or Paris. And you'll be happy you did. It's also a great place for a quick bite.

We went for dinner, we loved the atmosphere, the foods was really tasty, and the waitresses were these two young girls that were very friendly, Anik was our waitress and she was so nice, we had been to other restaurants in Amsterdam were the service and attitude of the waitresses was so rude, even when being nice to them, so the service here in Bar Kaspar felt like a wave of fresh air.

Great cozy bar, tasty food for a good price!

We just had a couple of beers at the tables outside. We were served quickly and the waitress was very nice and helped us also when we asked if she could turn on the heater (which apparently was a bit faulty, but eventually it worked).

We visited Bar Kasper in Amsterdam and the first thing that stood out was the atmosphere. The place feels relaxed, casual, and has a really nice vibe that makes it perfect for hanging out with friends or just having a laid-back evening. It works well as both a bar and a restaurant, and the energy of the space is definitely one of its strong points. When it comes to the food, however, it didn’t really surprise us. The menu sounds creative and the prices suggest something a bit more special, but the dishes were pretty average. Nothing bad, just not particularly memorable. For example, the soup was fine, and the snails were decent, but overall the food didn’t match the expectations set by the descriptions. Service was probably the weakest part of the experience. We had to ask for things several times before they arrived, and one of our dishes was actually forgotten, which meant we had to wait longer than expected. The staff wasn’t rude, but definitely not attentive. In the end, I would recommend Bar Kasper more as a spot for a quick meal, a couple of drinks, or a casual beer with friends rather than a place to go for the food itself. The vibe makes it worth a stop.

My wife's hamburger roll was very hard. Otherwise ok. My Brisket, cabbage and apples with green beans was quite good. Service was very good. The atmosphere was great.

We stopped at Bar Kaspar for lunch and were so glad we did. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with a friendly staff that immediately makes you feel at home—and I have to say, everyone working there looks like they stepped out of a movie set! For food, I had the cheese and cornichons sandwich on a baguette, while my companion went for the Black Angus burger. Both dishes were delicious, fresh, and satisfying. The side of fries was a standout—crispy, perfectly seasoned, and hard to resist. We washed our food down with some delicious local beer. We sat by the window and enjoyed watching the city go by, which added to the relaxing vibe. Bar Kaspar feels like the perfect place to unwind, enjoy great food, and rub elbows with the locals. Definitely a spot I’d recommend for anyone in Amsterdam looking for a laid-back yet memorable lunch.

Great spot in Amsterdam South, fast service, lovely sunny terrace, and cozy and inviting interior. The eel and steak tartare bites are truly outstanding.

It's the kind of place you walk in and immediately think: this is perfect. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting. You can tell they've put a lot of thought into everything, from the interior to the menu. The food was surprising and incredibly delicious. One of those dishes that initially seem simple, but where you can taste that everything is perfect.

A great place for late-night dining! A warm welcome!

I asked if there was a free table, and they confirmed there was. I sat down, but unfortunately, no one even brought me a menu or paid me any attention for the first ten minutes. It's a shame that you're invited to sit down, but then receive absolutely no help. I find that very frustrating. Unfortunately, I can't comment on the food, as I didn't get to taste it. The service is truly lacking. Personally, I found the atmosphere rather ordinary.

A discovery of a place. It's cozy, nice atmosphere, friendly people, super nice service and absolutely fantastic food. We can really recommend this restaurant! The menu is varied and with a lot to choose from. The food is delicious and delicious. The restaurant is located in a nice area and it's easy to see that many Dutch / Amsted residents choose to use the place as a regular place. There are lots of smiles and friendly chats. Our children aged 7 and 12 really enjoyed the food and would love to go back. This is a restaurant we will definitely go back to.

Lobster specials so we had to try the lobster sandwich/roll. I ordered a chicken Caesar salad and fries. Lobster roll was tasty but nothing special. The fried capers made the salad nicer. Fries legendary. Had two portions to share. Staff friendly and very helpful.

A lovely evening at Bar Kaspar with excellent food, and the side dishes are also delicious, such as the asparagus and green salad. Friendly and helpful service staff make you feel welcome.

I had dinner at Bar Kasper on Tuesday 1 July 2025. The staff were friendly and efficient. Our order of two burgers, fries and drinks were delivered in an appropriate time. The burgers were delicious but the meat pattie was very rate. I will order the pattie well done when I next dine at Bar Kasper.

We had a very good time, and a good meal as well. I was surprised how private our conversation felt in a crowd at a table on a sidewalk. Also, the service was good. Not too much, not too little.

The food was very good, filling, rather large portions especially for the price point. The decor was very nice, and the ambiance was good. Terrace and indoor seating, it got pretty busy for a Monday lunch. Good service. Lemonade was also very good!

I don't know why it's 4,5 star place. I would give to it 10 stars. We tried frites, hamburger and Caesar salad (BTW the best Caesar salad I've ever eaten) and all it was great!

Philly cheese steak was very good here

Have eaten here often with family and always with great pleasure. It's just a really nice place, in a nice place with a diversity of people who come and pass by. Menu card is also good. Staff super nice. However, today the effect was a bit disappointing. For example, we ordered a baguette with steak tartare, there was nothing wrong with that, and the Holtkamp shrimp croquettes on bread.. The Holtkamp croquettes were 2 tiny croquettes on 2 slices of white dry bread, which was certainly not the freshest bread... That's what made this dish so poor. Just serve good fresh bread with the croquettes (and butter!). The croquettes were also greasy... No, I really didn't like that.

A very good option in Amsterdam, near the RAI exhibition hall. Varied menu, very well prepared dishes with good products, very tasty meats and an atmosphere in the purest style...

It took quite a while for the food to arrive. We sat on the terrace, but because all the people smoked we were exposed to the smelly air. At least that wasn't their fault because that's allowed. Tasty food

Second time I’ve been and either no one comes to take your order or you have to wait a long time until they do.

Nice food but too bad the fries were forgotten and that you get them when the main course is almost finished. Don't say the fries are coming when you see that the kitchen still has to throw them in the fat. But otherwise great place.

We had drinks there with my dodgeball club. - The staff was friendly and kind - The atmosphere inside is very cosy, perfect for a romantic date but also casual outings with friends - Location wise it’s an expensive street of Amsterdam, in Beethovenstraat but the prices are actually pretty normal.

Music was a bit too loud for me

Very good, freshly prepared dishes. I read somewhere about small portions, this was not our experience. Great wine too. A relief after many disappointing experiences in Amsterdam. And that in a prime location in the city/neighborhood. Youthful crowd, you wouldn't say here that young people no longer have money to go out to eat (in the middle segment). Music not too loud, audience also behaved civilly. Service: young, enthusiastic, helpful, sometimes rather informal language. The only downside: upon arrival it was reported that shifts were being worked, and that the table would therefore only be available to a limited extent. When I made the reservation, I assumed that this was a forgotten relic from the corona era, so I didn't pay any attention to it. In practice it wasn't too bad, there were enough tables available for the second half of the evening. So we could stay seated (otherwise we wouldn't have been able to have another dessert, slow and attentive tasters). But pay attention to this when booking on popular evenings.

Just had the BBQ Boneless Ribs here, was amazing. Best ribs I have ever had, super soft and well cooked. Also had the Chocolate Bomb as dessert since the main dish was so good, also great.

I celebrated my PhD defense at bar Kaspar and we had an amazing experience. The food (group menu) was really great and it was served beautifully as well. The ambiance is great as well, the place is nicely set up and has a very lively vibe.

We are culinary surprised. This is much more than an eatery, excellent hospitality and service. Recommended!

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. We tried the Black Angus Burger with bacon and cheese added as well as an order of fries and mayonaise. The burgers were huge and the fries were super crisp. Everything was perfectly hot and all of the food was wonderful. The atmosphere was cozy and the service was delughtful. Would definitely recommend.

I booked a table for 6 and another for 3, as it was not possible to book for a bigger group online. They then called me saying it’s not possible to have both tables next to each other. Hence I called back after few minutes. to cancel the reservation as obviously we all wanted to be seated together, but they told me that they figured a way and that it is all sorted (great!) When we arrived there the tables were completely split (one at the back of the restaurant and another one at the front)! I explained to the waiter the background but he insisted that this is the only solution for now and otherwise I can leave! I asked why they didn’t call me in advance to notify me, but they didnt have an answer. It was so arrogant that two friends from the group decided to leave and join us back only for drinks later. When they came back we wanted to add two chairs to our table (as the waiter told us when we first arrived that we can try to squeeze all on a table for 6). The two friends came back only for a drink and then the waiter started to be difficult again saying we cannot add chairs, which is not in line to what he initially told us! so we eventually had to split! This is another level of unprofessional service. Also we ordered starters and then mains, they had the decency of bringing everything together. So our table was overcrowded and you couldnt enjoy your starters warm. Ridiculous and very disappointing. I do not recommend except for a simple drink maybe.

Small menu but very tasty. Service very friendly. The only criticisms: I had to briefly explain what a Campari-O is (or is that rather unknown here?) and the potato wedges were counted out on my ribs. But it wasn't a problem, my wife had enough fries 🤣
