Bella Storia in Staatsliedenbuurt

I ordered a pizza through Uber Eats last night. The pizza was €16. I added sausage which was €3. I added a can of coke, which was €2.75. That is €21.75 total. I was charged €29.35, which is a difference of €7.60. I don't know if that is Uber's delivery fee, the restaurant fee, or what, but €30 for a small pizza (there was only one size and this would barely feed two people) and a can of coke is insane. The pizza was ok, but for those prices, I will go elsewhere. Disappointing.

Pizza is dont good, its cook to much and will be black. Person who he our reservarion working there like for a cane, they didnt nice to us.

I had a terrible experience at this restaurant. The food was delayed for a very long time, and when it finally arrived, the environment made it impossible to enjoy. There were insects and flies everywhere, and the place was extremely dirty. Very unhygienic and disappointing — I would not recommend eating here.

An amazing pizza! - All the pizzas were delicious, tasty and good balance of ingredients. A real Italian pizza 🇮🇹 - Prices are on average - Staff was kind and fun, Giulia the waitress was very fun and pleasant to talk to - Atmosphere inside is rustic but in a good way, mimicking the real concept of Italian pizzeria and not of a fancy restaurant - Located in a beautiful corner of the Westerpark neighbourhood! Definitely recommended, one of the best pizza in Amsterdam!

We had such a great time at Bella Storia yesterday! The food was delicious and really tasted like proper Italian ingredients. Portions are huge, so you definitely won’t leave hungry. Prices are pretty normal for Amsterdam, but the quality here is on another level compared to most restaurants. The staff were super friendly, polite, and quick with service. I’ve been a few times already and I’ll definitely be back again!

Excellent Italian cuisine, practically as good as in Italy. We had the Norma and the Carbonara, and they were excellent, especially the former. The waiters were also friendly and courteous. It felt like we were in Italy while we were in Amsterdam.

I took the take away option. fast and welcoming. Great smell!

Do you want an amazing Italian experience? Go here! WOW! This is a classic Italian restaurant which serves you delicious Italian dishes and even special Italian wines - if you're in the mood! The photo attached was the Pizza Doc. The taste was as good as it looks - the tomatos, and pesto were fresh and the crust was airy and very tasty. Oh I should mention that we got a water jar and bread with some olive oil and balsamico for free! The waiter truly had an Italian accent, and was very kind - explaining the special dishes with passion. All in all, the best Italian restaurant I ever went - and I must confess that I visited quite a lot of Italian restaurants 😊

Traditional Italian style restaurant in a cozy chill part of Amsterdam West. I had their PISTACCHIO E GUANCIALE pasta. Had a glass of wine and a beer, made my bill 33,5 euro. Service was sweet and very fast. Definitely would recommend this place!

Had a surprising experience in Bella Storia. Most of the Italian places in Amsterdam are expensive and not italian at all, its just instagram places. This one is legit, the pizzas are really good one of the best i tried in Amsterdam, the pasta fresh and the service is very nice and attentive. I would definitely recommend this one if you want a taste of real italian food. I also recommend bolognesa it looks and tastes like nonna used to do!

Pizzas are good but it is beyond pathetic if you pay the extra fee for extra stuff on the pizza. €2,50 for cherry tomatoes and you get 3 mini tomatoes. Same for olives and other stuff.

At Bella Storia I was welcomed by friendly staff. Even though I had not made a reservation, a place was immediately arranged for me – very attentive. I ordered the tenderloin, but unfortunately it was burnt and tough upon arrival. After I had indicated this, I quickly received a new one, but this was also tough. It was neatly resolved: I did not have to pay for the dish. In the end I ordered a pizza, which was okay, but not special. The service was great, but the food was unfortunately disappointing. Hopefully this was an exception.

OMG the best pasta and pizza in Amsterdam!!!! Finally an authentic delicious Italian restaurant, the only one where I feel right at home! We tried the pizza and was sooo perfect, the carbonara and the pasta with pistachio and guanciale were absolutely gorgeous! The vitello tonnato and tagliere were so yummy and finally…. The tiramisu and pistachio cheesecake are really must try! Just felt like in paradise! Can’t wait to come back soon!

Best pizza in Amsterdam, a real delight!!

There really is a slice of Italy in this (residential) neighborhood of Amsterdam. Really welcoming staff, good food and good quality Neapolitan pizza considering that Naples is quite far from here... Prices in line with tourist places in Amsterdam (perhaps for some dishes/pizzas a little high, but that's okay...). The interior is a little retro and old-fashioned, but in the end you go to eat and so there's no point in being fussy. RECOMMENDED!

Super good pizzas and very nice staff.

We reserved a table for the early evening on a weekday, and were quickly seated. Very attentive staff, and incredibly quick service - we had our drinks within 5 minutes and our main meal within 10-15 minutes of ordering. The fresh tomato base for our pizza was delicious, and the creamy sauce for our carbonara was delightful. However, the pasta was al dente which is against my personal preference, so I recommend to ask the waiter if you prefer your pasta a little bit softer. The render from the guanciale may have been essential in flavouring the carbonara sauce, thankfully the rest of the flavours overshadowed actual guanciale strips which were closer to charred than crispy in both taste and texture. Nonetheless, the dishes were enjoyable and filling. The pistachio cheesecake was incredible with a perfect balance of flavours that didn't overwhelm each other, and the tiramisu, once you get through the thicker dusting of cacao powder overlaying the fluffy and delicate cream, was lovely. Overall, a very good experience.

I came to Amsterdam after years with my Spanish girlfriend. Some acquaintances had told me about this place they had just discovered by chance during their trip. I honestly didn't believe it. Cuisine with the flavor of home Italy 🤤 Impossible to find anything non-touristy in Amsterdam or very difficult. You know! The parmigiana was incredible and the cacio e pepe pasta had little to envy from those of our Rome. The pizza dough that we halved as an appetizer (because we were starving) melted in our mouth! Really light and digestible Oh yes, I forgot: they had Ripasso Valpolicella 👍👍👍 Must try 👍

Pasta a little undercooked but flavour of 4 dishes was lovely. Dining area was very “tight” where we were seated. Something we are not use too.

From a real italian, I ensure this is a true italian restaurant! The food was amazing, we had one tagliere and parmigiana to share OMG amazing, I remember my grandma's home with this flavour! And the pasta carbonara was amazing as I had in Rome, the pizza (my fav was the truffle pizza) is full of taste with a very fluffy dough and fresh italian ingredients. I took also some pasta with ragù and limoncello from my friend and was delicious!!! Pistachio cheesecake is a must try! The service was very nice and friendly with our group, the food was served quickly (in Amsterdam the standard service is very slow instead). Also the music was nice and I am planning again to go there next week!!! I suggest to made a reservation, could be fully booked especially during weekends.

This used to be our favourite pizza in Amsterdam, we tried it today and were very disappointed 😢 the sauce is too tangy, the crust is nowhere near as fluffy and chewy as before. We learnt that the ownership has changed and the pizza is nowhere near as good. The real Bella Storia had moved to Bos en Lommer, we’ll be getting ours from there going forward. Such a pity!

We had such a great evening at Bella Storia! Even though we arrived later than expected, they kindly held our table without any fuss—already a great first impression. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the food? Absolutely chef’s kiss. Authentic, rich in flavor, and made with real love—you can taste it in every bite. And I have to say… our waitress? Incredibly sweet and attentive! If you’re looking for a place with heart, soul, and real Italian flavor, Bella Storia is it.

Very friendly service, but this is it. Food is overpriced and is mediocre. For the starter we got half way frozen grilled cheese, it was quickly fixed by the waiter. However it shows the quality of the food you are served at Bella Storia. Disappointment.

The real and traditional italian experience ín Amsterdam loved the pizzas and pastas, we were served by a great waiter. The palace was smaller, but creating a nice italian atmosphere. 100% recommended.

Look the pizza is really really good, one of the finest in Amsterdam I must say. However, everything else is terrible. The flavours of pasta don’t work well ( I had pistachio guanchale fettuccine) . Also the homemade pasta don’t taste homemade. The lights are way too bright for a dinner vibe. The interior (tables, toilets) super bad. If I’d go again, I’ll take a pizza to go :)

Wow wow wow!!! If I ever return to Amsterdam, I will 200% definitely eat here again. Starting with a meat/cheese platter that was richly filled and also very tasty... Then I had pasta with pistachio sauce and I can tell you that I have never eaten anything so delicious. Sauce abnormally tasty, pasta perfectly cooked, and bacon perfectly cooked. Heavenly!

Disappointing. The pizza crust was burned and the tiramisu was mostly just whip cream while costing 8,50 EUR. The waiter also tried to trick us by asking if we want water for the table and brought us bottled water for 5 EUR when we meant tap water. After we asked to exchange it for tap water, the bottled water still showed up on the bill at the end. The waiter forgot to bring glasses for the water twice. Also forgot the drink order of 1 person on our table twice. While it's a cozy restaurant and the food wasn't bad, these things definitely soured our experience.

The pizza was average but the seating arrangement is really tight in this joint. Side dishes were overpriced.

We recently visited Bella Storia Pizza in Amsterdam and had a mixed experience. On the positive side, the quality and taste of the pizza were fantastic—fresh ingredients and great flavor! The pizzas also came out really quickly, which was impressive. However, the service left a lot to be desired. We requested water for the table and two sodas, but the pizzas arrived before the water was even served. Worse, the sodas never showed up, yet we were charged for them. When we asked for the check, the server didn’t ask if we’d like to leave a tip but rather how much we wanted to add, which felt uncomfortable and presumptive. While the food was excellent, the lack of communication and awkward service dampened the overall experience. Hopefully, they can improve on the service side because the pizza itself is worth a visit!

I had a great dinner at Bella Storia. The antipasto was good and worth the money. I usually don't order pasta in restaurants because the quantity is disappointing and the quality is average. This was not the case at Bella Storia. I had the pasta with limoncello that was delicious. One of the best pasta I have ever eaten in my life (and I am italian...). The service is good and the waiter, Davide, was very kind and fun.

The pasta here is soo soo good 🤌🏼 the best pasta I have eaten in Amsterdam. Me and my friends went there without any prior reservations and it was busy day for them still they managed to give us the table, the staff is super friendly and pasta as I said it's to die for!!!

the food was amazing. the pizza dough was fluffy. the salad was fresh. they kept on reminding us that there was another reservation at 7.45, their stress trickled down to us even though we were very efficient in our eating and finished on time. the waiter was pushy.

Bella Storia is a cozy neighborhood Italian restaurant with a warm and inviting atmosphere. I had the boar ragu pasta, which was absolutely fabulous. However, the pasta was not evenly cooked, and the service left room for improvement. For instance, the server could have been more attentive, such as clearing empty dishes while passing through the dining room. Additionally, the lamps had inconsistent white balances, which slightly disrupted the otherwise charming ambiance. Despite these minor issues, it’s a charming restaurant overall. I would recommend it if you’re in the area!

Some of the best Neapolitan pizza in Amsterdam

Over-rated under deliverd, if you want to have a good conversation, look for a different place it super noisy. Visited with a group of five, while we were eating our starter the waiter asked our group if we would already would like to eat our main dish because the kitchen had already prepared it by mistake. We politely declined, then discovered that we we were served the exact same dishes 20 minutes later. The pasta was completely dried out and crusty because it was put in the oven or under a heater. After some hesitation, we returned the plates. We received no confirmation or information about this quite cheeky action. Our new pasta was indeed much better but portion wise too much and taste wise, really not special . We received no compensation by the waiter. Will not visit again, also really dont understand the fuzz about this place.

I recommend it wholeheartedly. The food is delicious. Contact with the manager who organized my parents' 6th birthday celebration. Our waitress Ada was really nice and took care of us at every step. When we are in Wroclaw, we will definitely come back. Thank you very much for the wonderfully organized parents' wedding anniversary. I wish there were more places like this, we were all impressed and there were 7 of us. Bravo to you! We will ask for a place in Szczecin :)

Amazing pizza and the friendliest pizzaiolo

Average pizza, fine if you live nearby and don't want to go far from home, but there're many places in Amsterdam with better quality. Aperol Spritz was nice, also delicious bread was served for free. Service is also nice and friendly.

Very bad experience! Picked up food here, very minimal portions for the price you pay. The food was also not tasty, the pizza was very burnt on the outside and very soft and cold on the inside. The pasta was also very poor and seemed to have just been taken from the supermarket. What was also very disappointing was that the bag contained three crumbs of parmesan cheese! All in all very poor quality and price does not match what you get. I will never come back here and definitely not recommended!

Disappointed because it is not a restaurant. You can only pick up, the place looks completely different from the photos. The portions were very small and not tasty at all. A couple of raviolis with so little cheese it flew away when I breathed. I saw good reviews about the food, but that was really not my experience. The ice tea was tasty, but that was the only thing I thought was worth my money.

Very small but nice place. It's typical Italian cuisine, compliments to the chefs. Excellent food! I took a pizza, the dough was excellent with quality products. To eat a Neapolitan pizza this is the right place in Amsterdam.

We booked a table and were rushed by staff through the process. Pizza arrived 5 mins after ordering but was undercooked. The pizza was just messy with too many toppings to pizza ratio. House wine oxidised. Not sure what the fuss is about this place.
