They have 2 "own" beers on tap here. These are brewed elsewhere. Not at Maallust, as used to be the case. However, they refuse to say where they actually come from. That is not good... surely you should be able to know what you are drinking. The food wasn't special either.

Delicious food and friendly service with humor

Unfortunately, our email reservation for six people was ignored. We only managed to get a table by pushing several tables together. The server's only redeeming quality was a forced smile. The food was very overpriced for what was served. All the dishes were very small in portion size. Unfortunately, all the dishes needed extra seasoning. The fish platter for €55 was barely enough for one person. The goat cheese omelet would have been a decent size as a starter (€22), but not as a main course. Nothing was satisfactory. A real shame.

Enjoy a nice drink or meal on a cozy covered terrace. With heaters and a gas fire, have a Maallust beer; lovely. Sometimes there is a DJ on Saturday nights playing great 80s/90s music.

Looking for a nice place in Nes. You need to make reservations at De Heksenketel, and at Heeckeren you'll only find pizzas. The interior is a nice alternative... a friendly waiter walking around who pleasantly surprised us with his witty remarks. A menu with varied dishes that taste good when served. And their own beer (blonde and triple) that tastes great.

The lunch was very mediocre, with a meager plate of limp lettuce that didn't even have any dressing or sauce. Furthermore, there was a small piece of fish, and the other plates were also very sparsely filled. We had to ask for some butter for the toast (which was already cold). This could be much better with more substance on the plate and extra attention to the food. Especially for the rather pricey price, you do expect something. We didn't even ask how to cook the steak. Otherwise, it is an incredibly cozy place with friendly staff. It could really be a top-notch spot! But then pay more attention to the lunch.

Had a lovely afternoon on the terrace at Binnen. Friendly and efficient service and good value for money. Original lunch menu too!

We had a delicious and generous meal. You really get top quality for an affordable price. Let's say cheap compared to the other restaurants on the island. The service was polite and friendly. Highly recommended and we will definitely be back!

Happen en Trappen, a fun combination of cycling and eating. We start here at Binnen with a nice cup of coffee/tea and apple pie (with whipped cream 😁). For the beagle Levi, a tasty surprise from Daiki dog shop.

The food was good, Hertog Jan on tap with nice background music and a nice restaurant decor. It was definitely good!

We found it quite a letdown. The food was truly substandard. The meat, among other things, was bone dry. If you can't even make a rabbit satay tasty, that says a lot as far as we are concerned. The plating was also completely nonsensical. The few fried baby potatoes and the small bowl of beetroot felt like a random addition and added little to the dish. The waiter himself mentioned that this is often thrown away. Frankly, that didn't surprise us.

The food wasn't really very tasty! And very meager, without vegetables and fries! We had to wait for plates for the main course and we had to wait for spoons for dessert! And we had to wait 3 times for a menu.

Very cozy terrace, the service is super friendly. The food is good, there is a wide selection. It is a great place to come not only for dinner but also for lunch. Or just for a drink. Oh, and they have great sharing platters.

The pork tenderloin I ordered was fully cooked and therefore bone dry. Very unpleasant to eat. Unfortunately, we had a performance to give and were short on time, otherwise I would have complained. My dining companions, however, had ordered simple dishes and were satisfied with the quality.

A cozy place to sit outside, nice and warm and covered. It was raining hard, so that was very convenient. The food is good and not expensive. The waiter was a very nice man and we didn't have to wait long. Finally, they also have good Dutch music playing in the background. Go for it! I would definitely recommend it.

Had lunch here. Ordered goat cheese with cranberry, nuts, bacon, and arugula. It was tiny. The nuts and arugula were missing. And that for €13.50. Afterwards, I walked straight to the bakery practically across the street for a bag of currant buns. So, way too little food for this price! Not recommended.

The most amazing place on Ameland. What great service, delicious food, and the best cocktails ever! This has become our second home.

Where you can come inside from outside.

Don't be tempted by the restaurant's appearance. You're there for the food, and this was inedible. The meat was served cold, tough, tasteless, and without any sauce. Oh, and yes, you could have gotten gravy with it. You'd also expect some fries or something similar with your main course, but don't expect that here. You only get a baked potato with cucumber in vinegar and a freshly picked plant.

We visited Ameland for the first time in week 40 and, among other things, spent one evening at the Binnen. Because my wife likes them, we ordered two large portions of kibbeling with fries and salad (€17.50 each). It was no coincidence that my stomach rumbled loudly afterward, as the so-called salad in particular was a careless assortment of shriveled greens. And since we'd already had much more delicious kibbeling on our plates, it was a thumbs down.

Highly recommended. Henk, the owner, offered us a small sea bass off the menu. What a delight. Fabulously prepared. We always enjoy coming back.

They hadn't even bothered to add salt to the vegetables. The meat was dry and bland. The cheese platter was exceptionally sparse. The staff were friendly, though.

Good service, relaxed atmosphere. The food was a bit lacking in some areas (raw leeks in mustard soup. I think they were out of spring onions. Brie instead of cream cheese with the mackerel salad). Otherwise, the food was excellent.

Binnen is super cozy, especially when By Accident XL is playing, as was the case on August 1, 2025 😃 Friendly staff, very welcoming, although that can sometimes feel less welcoming when it's busy. All in all, fantastic!

The service was friendly and prompt. The food was rather tasteless. A lot of money for mediocre quality.

A burger should never be served with baguette bread. A burger must have a good burger bun!

Extremely nice and friendly staff, the food was amazing as well! Sometimes there was a little wait for the food but it wasn't too long. I asked for no onions on my burger and that was no problem at all, they even excluded the onions from the side salad which I greatly appreciated. The dessert was lovely as well!

For the quality of the food it is not worth the money!

The food was delicious, but very little. We had schnitzel and sea bass. We felt that something was missing from both meals. There were hardly any side dishes and the price-quality ratio was unreasonable. We paid €58.40. We were not full from the food. The drink prices were also too high. A sauce on the menu that did not have an extra price was later charged extra. The atmosphere was fine. And I don't really understand the service staff.

Let's choose the 3-course menu. 24.50 p.p. on a tourist island expectations are usually not that high but what a great price this was for this menu. Of course the portions are civilized but the dishes were very tasty. 1 point of criticism, a potato dish was missing. If this should be ordered, please indicate this on the menu or by asking the staff. Extra salad and cauliflower also very tasty. The service on the terrace was not attentive at first but got better as more guests sat down. In summary a big 4 stars

One of the less expensive places to dine on the island. Friendly staff and a pleasant informal atmosphere. Food was fine, a bit bland for our taste. But of course you can fix that yourself. Relatively small portions. But fine in terms of quality.

Menu taken, just delicious. Service friendly. Nice seating inside and outside. 4.1 average is too low, 4.3/4.4 would do more justice. If you look at the prices here, maybe even a bit higher!

We visited this restaurant on Wednesday 14 May 2025. The welcome was quite warm, after that it was a disappointment. The hostess was very hasty to take the order. My wife had the fish platter, I had the mustard soup and the prawns. The fish platter consisted of kibbeling, calamari, tuna, salmon and 2 prawns. The kibbeling was good to eat. The calamari came from the freezer, the tuna was a non-homemade mess, the salmon as well and the prawns were boiled and ungrilled. The mustard soup was bland in taste and unbound (limp). The prawns were a disgrace, boiled, ungrilled and worthless in taste, that they dare to ask 26.50 euros for this! As usual, the home-made fries were the only bright spot. The hostess was nowhere to be seen afterwards and spent the rest of the evening chatting pleasantly with a group of other guests. She didn't ask how it tasted and left that to the help. No more boo or bah from her. The help asked how it tasted and we gave our opinion. He would pass this on to the chef (Henk?). Once passed on, we didn't see Henk again. The help was friendly and we felt sorry for him to pass on our complaint to him. Finally, the prices on the website do not match and are lower than on the menu that you get at the table. Dear people, better walk on and ignore this restaurant!

The atmosphere is excellent and the nice service who comes to chat for a while really makes you feel welcome. The restaurant feels very homely and the food is simply very good and also affordable. Just before the last boat, a delicious meal. And that was no problem! Friendly help and everything was served quickly. The steak is highly recommended. The carpacio is also very tasty!

We ended the year 2024 with a dinner at Binnen. After a warm welcome by hard-working and friendly service, it seemed to be a reasonable ending after the starter. The dishes were accompanied by a lot of lettuce, but were reasonable. However, the main courses were disappointing. My wife got a piece of chicken breast that had lost all its moisture in a sauce that did not contain the pesto. My meal consisted of three prawns covering a piece of sea bass with the skin barely fried. The garnish included baked potatoes in their jackets, or at least that was what we were told in advance. The potatoes had been mashed in a small bowl, which gave an unappealing appearance, and consisted of peel and crumbs. For us, the restaurant in Nes that clearly delivers the lowest quality for money, based on a frequent visit by us to this beautiful island with plenty of restaurants that offer good to excellent price/quality.

Had a great Burgundian evening. Delicious food, wonderful wines and a fantastic atmosphere. Together with chef Rene Pluijm, a wonderful evening was made.

We had reserved a table for 2 people at 7.15 pm. After we were assigned our table, we waited for half an hour. However, no one came, no menu and no employee to take a drink. We left after half an hour. Not recommended

Had a great meal here. Just "simple" but good. Beautifully served. Friendly service. Meat board for 2 highly recommended. Carpaccio very good and fresh. Small tip: chicken and cheese: do not let the tomato salsa fry, but add it nice and fresh. Ice cream coupe and the veggie curry somewhat meager portions, especially for this money, but very tasty. Here you can have a really good and pleasant meal, folks.

We had a very tasty meal in this restaurant. The service was very friendly and attentive. In terms of price it was really okay for Amelnd / Holland. The atmosphere is very cozy, you just feel good.

Last September we had a very pleasant evening in this attractive restaurant. The service was incredibly friendly and regularly came by to ask if everything was to our liking and we were not left with empty glasses. You can sit outside by the fire, but it is also warm and cozy inside. It is a great place to have a drink or dinner. There were also all kinds of board/card games, so we stayed for a long time in the evening. We will definitely come back!

Bad and unfriendly staff. We came on a Thursday with about 20 people for a cup of coffee and possibly a piece of cake. Upon arrival, the waitress was already panicking because we had not made a reservation and she was alone. There were few other guests. Everything showed that the lady would rather see us leave. After enjoying our first coffee we asked if we could order a piece of cake. Answer: I don't have any pastries and certainly not for that many people. Even though we arrived unexpectedly, the lady could have responded to this and served us normally and possibly arranged cakes from the bakery next door? Then she would have made a lot of money too. Alas, Maria. After our cup of coffee we left and will not return here!

In the end we had a nice meal, but initially 4 of the 6 dishes were incorrectly recorded/made incorrectly. It has been resolved, but the operation/service could be much better, faster and friendlier.

We had lunch here with 4 adults and 1 toddler. The service was very friendly and attentive. The food came quickly, was fresh and beautifully presented and we enjoyed it very much. Everyone has had their fill. Card payment (EC) was possible without any problems. We also really liked the ambience. We'll be back.

Wonderful lunch with the whole family

We visit Ameland quite regularly and always have lunch and/or dinner at Binnen Op Ameland. This time we had a nice meal again, where we were served pleasantly and quickly. Now the atmosphere was further enhanced by the tandem boys + singers (we could and were even allowed to sing along) There were four of us and we ate and drank for two days. A good price/performance ratio. Highly recommended.

Food was okay, as was the location and the ambience. Unfortunately, we had the very unpleasant experience that suddenly none of our 6 (!!) cards should work. Since there were no problems in any other restaurant before or after, it seems as if the device should not work. There were no other options for digital payment. So it's better to pack cash if you don't want to travel 3km to the ATM and back like we did.

What a mockery. Bad operation. The dish with 4 types of meat for 2 people, which we wanted to eat, could not be served. So we went for a steak and a schnitzel. The schnitzel was burnt and the steak was cold and came with 5 slices of mushrooms and I haven't even mentioned the 5 potatoes that the 2 of us had to share. A new schnitzel was offered, but we declined, because if a chef gives a burnt schnitzel to the waiter, the second one will probably be the same. But charge the full price!!! Never again!!!!

We had a delicious meal twice last week! Good price-quality ratio. Friendly staff and nice terrace. Even in bad weather it was nice to spend time on the terrace thanks to the fire. Highly recommended in Nes!

Also ate here 2 years ago. What a great restaurant. The food, the service and the atmosphere were so great. Had also recommended him to several people. Now I went to eat yeast again with my family. I noticed how quiet it was, but okay, that's possible for a Wednesday, but nothing from above was left. Staff slow, slow and very grumpy. Not to mention the food. Started with a bread board. Spreads was there. Well, 1 lick on a plate with some sandwiches. You could do it with that. It was kind of like leftover yogurt dressing. Main course steak was more raw than medium what my son had requested. I personally had something with chicken that I can make even better at home. Floated in grease and the side dishes that came with it were not fresh. Hamburgers where the bun was old and so on. No, never again for us. A waste of money, because they know how to charge a lot for that.
