They have 2 "own" beers on tap here. These are brewed elsewhere. Not at Maallust, as used to be the case. However, they refuse to say where they actually come from. That is not good... surely you should be able to know what you are drinking. The food wasn't special either.

We ate at the restaurant last night. Unfortunately, we had to wait quite a long time for our food. We noticed that people who arrived after us received their orders a while before us. We both had fish dishes. The salmon portion was very small and completely overpriced, with maybe a tablespoon of side dish. The fish and chips portion was adequate, but the fish was not very edible because some of it tasted rancid and not fresh. The grilled lemon listed on the menu was not there. Instead, there was a small lemon wedge. The starter of fresh bread with aioli and butter was from the freezer... the bread was still quite cold inside. The staff was friendly, and the drinks were delicious and refreshing.

Delicious bitterballen and top-notch service as usual. And you can request and play some great records.

In hindsight, I should have relied on the reviews... the food was mediocre. The Beef Teriyaki wasn't very flavorful. While one person had a few pieces of meat, another had almost no meat at all. The Catch of the Day was a small piece of fish with a few pieces of potatoes and some vegetables. Only the Smash Burger was, by what we heard, delicious. Fortunately, it came with fries, and for those who found it a bit much, the rest could share. We took another look at the menu for dessert... but considering the quantity of the main course and the price, we decided to leave it at that. Back at the holiday home, we just grabbed a tub of ice cream from the freezer.

It looks nice at first glance, but what a terrible place. Huge disappointment!! After waiting 75 minutes and having just one drink, we left sadly. After the first drink, no one even looked at us once. The food didn't arrive, and ordering an extra drink was impossible. Eventually, we walked to the bar ourselves to make contact. The staff really didn't care, the "system" didn't work... this restaurant doesn't work, and their staff even less so. If you want to eat well, and feel appreciated and welcome as a customer, definitely do not go to Rixt in Nes. We have to give 1 star as a minimum, but that is already way too much!!
