We went to the restaurant for dinner... The service and waitress were good... My wife had fish and fries I had salmon with side dishes... The price-performance ratio was not right at all. The small piece of salmon and the vegetables were fresh and tasted okay, but the portions were minimal. Not even a tablespoon each of the potato gratin and carrot mixture... To charge more than 25 euros for this and then leave hungry... after waiting over an hour... My wife's breaded fish was rancid at the ends... and the fries were mediocre, and the grilled lemon, as per the menu, was nowhere to be found on the plate... The friendly service and delicious drinks could only partially mitigate the disappointing impression...

We ate at the restaurant last night. Unfortunately, we had to wait quite a long time for our food. We noticed that people who arrived after us received their orders a while before us. We both had fish dishes. The salmon portion was very small and completely overpriced, with maybe a tablespoon of side dish. The fish and chips portion was adequate, but the fish was not very edible because some of it tasted rancid and not fresh. The grilled lemon listed on the menu was not there. Instead, there was a small lemon wedge. The starter of fresh bread with aioli and butter was from the freezer... the bread was still quite cold inside. The staff was friendly, and the drinks were delicious and refreshing.

Atmospheric restaurant and good food: 1x salmon and 1x spare ribs. Make sure you bring your language skills: the staff does not speak Dutch. As a result, the correct order was not served at once and the bill was initially incorrect.

Disappointing experience with Mr. Sandman I had high expectations, but this restaurant greatly disappointed. The quality of the food was simply poor: tasteless and clearly not fresh. The strange combinations on the menu looked more like a failed experiment than a well thought out meal. To make matters worse, the food was served cold, while the plates were warmer than the dishes themselves. That made the whole thing even more unpleasant. The price-quality ratio is hard to find. I will definitely not come back here and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

No vegetarian options except 1 salad? What a shame

Ate here 2 evenings, I ate the tastiest piece of salmon of my life here. The duck breast was also delicious. We had a nice dinner by the fire! It just took a bit long for dessert. Definitely recommended!

Went in for dinner at 8:30 tonight. We were told by an employee that it was no longer possible to dine because the kitchen closes at 9 p.m. and everything had already been cleaned. Personally, I think this is quite early, but probably the average Dutch already eat at 6:00/7:00 PM? A very friendly waiter came to ask us what we would like to eat and he arranged with the chef so that we could still have dinner. We could no longer choose everything from the menu, but there was still plenty of choice for us. The cook was not very happy with it, but how this waiter handled it deserves a big 10! Very service oriented, hospitable and professional. He did everything he could to make us happy. Thinking in solutions and possibilities instead of impossibilities. We were offered the drinks by him as compensation. Now this is a catering man who knows his trade, they are scarce these days. The food is also of excellent quality!

Very good value for money. Attentive service. We felt very comfortable and would happily recommend the restaurant.

Chef Elena, who runs the kitchen, is an asset to the hotel and restaurant. Her creations are always a formidable experience (with the surprise menus). With host Tristan, the evening is provided professionally and attractively.

Delicious food, surprise menu. Everything was beautifully prepared and very tasty. We will come back again next year.

Delicious food with extremely friendly service

Had a very nice meal here. The service was great, the place was very comfortable and the food was excellent. I had the vegan seaweed burger (Vega zeewier hamburger) and my daughter the not vegan Kalfsentrecôte.

Nice to look at from the outside. When we looked at the menu displayed outside, our expectations were a bit “higher” given the higher prices than in other restaurants in Nes - we are not demanding. It was cool! The heating was probably not allowed to be turned on - said the nice waiter. We ordered burgers and spare ribs. The Bueger came cold and dry, with the spare ribs at €26 we expected more than a single small strand. You couldn't choose between sweet or smoky or anything like that. The respective fries were “standard”. No more and no less. After the waiter asked nicely and made a complaint, I got a “new” burger, which was “hot” but still dry. The bread was well toasted, but really nothing special. At €24 it's better. We won't eat here again and hope to see a quality improvement for other customers. #it ​​works better with 4 occupied tables

Heerlijk gegeten. Mooie verzorgde gerechten en vlotte, spontane medewerkers. Voor herhaling vatbaar. Top!

Hervorragende Küche, außergewöhnliche Zusammenstellung und alles "stimmig". Der Koch muss seinen Beruf lieben! Waren hier 3x in unserer Urlaubswoche essen, immer köstlich. Auch Serviceteam war hervorragend, bis auf einen Abend, wo wir einen anderes Kellnerteam hatten. Man merkte leider einer Bedienung die Unlust an, aber es war bei so einem köstlichen Essen letztendlich egal. Wir kommen gerne wieder, beim nächsten Ameland Besuch. Danke!

Meerdere malen heerlijk gegeten. De shared dining is zeker een aanrader! Een kok die weet wat hij doet en hoe het geserveerd moet worden. Bediening is super vriendelijk en attent. Het interieur is zeer sfeervol. Je krijgt waar voor je geld!

Alleen in het restaurant gegeten. Simpelweg beste service en eten dat we op Ameland hebben aangetroffen. Fantastisch!

Het personeel was erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Het eten was erg goed

Shared dining drie gangen (je kunt ook kiezen voor vier gangen). Uitstekend gegeten! Zeer mals stuk varkensrib, met drie soorten kool met heel verschillende smaken. Voorgerecht meerval in tempura en heel verrassende combinatie van avocado met ananas geserveerd als een tartaar. Het toetje was een combinatie van ijs, broodpudding van Fries suikerbrood, mousse en coulis. Hoogstaande keuken en rustige ambiance. Uitstekende gastvrouwen en gastheren! Dit restaurant verdient veel meer aandacht. Het is een van de betere restaurants op Ameland. Niet het goedkoopste 13 in een dozijn maar echt iets speciaals voor mensen die van echt goed eten houden.

Verrassend! Veel lekkerder dan ik had verwacht van een hotel-restaurant. Leuke en verrassende twist aan het eten gegeven waardoor je toch iets bijzonder te eten krijgt. Zeker iets om aan te raden.

Ein hervorragendes 3-Gänge Menü, abwechslungsreich und frisch zu einem super Preis-Leistungsverhaeltnis. Wir waren auch mit dem Service sehr zufrieden und werden beim nächsten Inselbesuch sicher wieder hier essen.

We hebben afhaal hoofd gerechten voor 6 personen en desert. Erg goed, fijn dat ze restaurant kwaliteit in afhaalvorm kunnen aanbieden. De panne cotta was goddelijk en de diverse uien bereidingen zeer interessant. Ze bellen nog na om te vragen of het had gesmaakt, erg attent. Een aanrader voor iedereen die even een echte restaurant ervaring thuis wil hebben.
