Bocconi Pasta Italiana in Binnenstad-Noord

We were absolutely delighted with this small, incredibly delicious restaurant. We received excellent advice so we wouldn't order too much (especially for the children) and everyone would be happy with our choice. The selection isn't huge, but what is available is exceptionally tasty. The meat dishes (Bolognese or meatballs) were both cooked to perfection, as were the ravioli. Everything is handmade, and I wish there was a place like this in our city.

It's a small, sweet place with not much seating. I tried the lemon ravioli on the waiter's recommendation, and I definitely didn't regret it; it was quite delicious. Compared to pizza and pasta, it's nothing special, but it's a place you can choose for pasta.

Second time we were here. First time a great experience, now... Focaccia was disgusting; slightly warmed but tough. Parmigiano was half cold. Ravioli with butter sage sauce was medium, had little flavor.

Surprisingly tasty food and a nice menu. Service not entirely sharp. Hair in the food was also received nonchalantly. A pity!

To be honest I expected more. The food was fine but it wasn't amazing. Also, it was really hot.

Small hidden gem, Good food, fast service. I had the caprese and Ravioli. Both were tasty. They also helped re-lokate me to an outdoor table once it became available. There is also a cool liquor shop across the street if you want a night cap.

We arrived 50 mins before closing, which was the reason the service was kind of impolite and unfriendly. Food was good especially ravioli. Portions were big and prices logical. Don't order pizza, definitely not their hit.

I ordered Mix Ravioli and waited about 10 minutes. It was delicious, with a tasty tomato sauce. The best ravioli I have ever eaten. It costs 13 euros. The price is good. I recommend you try this dish sometime.

Well welcome to the Italian place of Leiden, or at least that’s what the reviews make you believe. And to be fair, they actually serve food that is really, really tasty. Let me start with the highlight, how the food tasted. We were genuinely shocked by how good it was for the price. You know how it usually goes: you pay a lot for good Italian food, sometimes a bit less, and you can still taste the difference. But here… no, seriously, you don’t pay that much. And the food tastes like you’re in Italy. Quality is what describes this place. The staff is very friendly, and the service is quick. The vibe is kind of well structured chaos. If you sit in the aisle, everyone walks past you because the seating area isn’t that big. Still, it feels like the staff has everything perfectly under control. The lasagna stood out for us the most, mainly because the flavor combination is incredible. All in all, a very good Italian place. If you’re in the mood for some Italian in Leiden and they have a spot free, go here! 4/5 stars.

Used to eat some amazing pastas here. Today, after years of not living in Leiden anymore, I happened to be around and got excited to get myself another Bocconi dish. It was 15 minutes before closing time, so fair enough, only take-away. I decided for the meat lasagna, as I had never had it from here before. I wish it had stayed that way. It was the weirdest lasagna I've ever had... A thick top layer of cheese and bland sauce (have you ever heard of salt?), and then a very thick, hard, crispy (not in a good way), partly burned, bottom layer. The bottom part almost seemed like a pie crust, that's how thick and hard it was. I guess multiple lasagna sheets got stuck together, it almost seems like they forgot to alternate between layers of pasta and sauce and just decided to dump in all the pasta on the bottom and chug the sauce and cheese on top. Eating it with just a wooden fork from a cardboard container made it even more difficult, as it was impossible to get through the burned crusty bottom. I literally had to eat the bottom like a cookie with my hands. Have you ever done that with a lasagna? I'm used to better dishes at this place, but that was years ago. Maybe the chef changed. This was just very bad. Honestly, save yourself the 17.50 and get the 3.50 microwave lasagna from Aldi instead, it is genuinely better.

Amazing small restaurant where you can enjoy authentic, traditional Italian food. In Italy, we would probably call it a trattoria. Their sandwiches were excellent, especially the one with bresaola, Grana Padano, and rocket. My boyfriend ordered a focaccia with salami, and it was delicious too. We wanted to eat there, but they were only offering takeaway when we visited on a Monday at lunchtime. They also make fresh handmade pasta, ravioli, and arancini. We also bought two pistachio cannoli, and they were delicious. The staff was friendly. Highly recommended! We’ll definitely be back to try their fresh pasta and ravioli.

Nice spot in the middle of the city; the food is very flavorful (especially the meatballs in a very tasty tomato sauce and the focaccia) and is served super hot (microwave?), and it is a shame that the (admittedly friendly) staff in the kitchen are having such a good time together that taking drink orders or bringing extra cutlery takes an unnecessarily long time. Previous experiences were like this too. The red wine was very tasty!

Good Italian-style food, good pasta, excellent Parmigiana. It's really small, just a few tables, hence a reservation is highly recommended.

The bolognaise was too watery and not that tasty and the meatball felt fake. Would not recommend. You have to call the waiter otherwise they skip you. Overall nothing special but it was fine.

This place is totally overrated. The pasta is okay, but nothing special, and it's really expensive! And to pay, I have to go inside like at a fast-food joint. The rest is third-rate, both the drinks service and the atmosphere. Basically, everything is pretty much a zero.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - 5/5 stars - Bocconi Pasta Italiana Went here after reading the good reviews about this place and wanted to find out how it tastes. I ordered the 'Tagliatelle Ragu Bolognese'. Sauce tasted very meaty and thick. Pasta tasted great, perfectly cooked. I can eat quite a lot and I finished the plate, but it was a huge portion. The service was really good too and you can really see they love their job, which is reflected in the service and food. I would recommend this place a lot. Good food, good service and good price. The interior is great too!

walked past often and finally gave it a try...... had tagliatelle bolognese and it really had no taste... a shame. On the other hand, my wife had lasagna and it wasn't much better; the bottom was completely caked and burnt. We pointed this out to the waitress but she just said "oh, too bad" (in English), and that for just €42.50 with two drinks... Too bad, we are never going again.

I ordered a delivery at ~6. The delivery came at 7.30 wrongly. We called to request a new one and they said they would replace it. They asked for our address details. After about 15’ they called again to ask for the same details. We spelled our address about 5 times but still couldn’t communicate, the employee talking with us was laughing because they couldn’t understand. We also said our postal code (4 numbers and 2 letters) 5 times. This employee then gave the phone to another colleague of theirs that spoke Dutch, we explained that we didn’t speak Dutch but they still talked some Dutch words. We again spelled our address details from the beginning. They never apologised. Our communication sucked but the replacement delivery was pretty quick.

We had a lovely Italian dinner in the heart of Leiden a few days ago. My friend got the salmon pasta and i got the lemon and burrata ravioli with butter and sage sauce - both extraordinary. There are a lot of options to choose from as well. The service is friendly and the atmosphere feels authentic. Definitely worth a visit if you go to Leiden.

It's too hot and ventilation is difficult. The portions are large, but I think it might be hard to suit Korean tastes. It's really salty, too. Overall, I'm not sure what the flavor is supposed to be... If I had to choose one, it would be the salmon cream sauce.

Today we went to the restaurant, and my friend ordered the vegetarian lasagna. She immediately noticed that it tasted strange. After she finished eating and we paid, we left the restaurant, and she suddenly developed stomach pain. We had to go straight to the toilet in another place nearby. There was also something else that concerned us: we saw the waitress behind the counter collecting the small bowls of nuts left by previous customers. She separated the unopened ones, such as the pistachios, and put them back into the bag to serve to the next customer. I do not recommend this restaurant. We definitely will not be going back.

Visited Bocco Italiana Restaurant in Leiden and really enjoyed it, went for a casual meal and it felt like a solid, authentic Italian spot without being overpriced. The food hit the mark, especially the baked dish with melted cheese on top and the pizza slice, both tasted fresh and satisfying. The place has a cozy, lively atmosphere, though it can get crowded pretty quickly even outside peak hours, which says a lot about how popular it is. Service was smooth overall and it’s good that you can reserve ahead. Prices felt fair for the quality, and I’d definitely recommend it and come back again.

Trattoria style: cozy, rustic, pasta centric and casual. Love it! Feels a bit like a laboratorio di pasta in Bologna.

The location is very nice. The pasta is home made. The lasagna was not good, to much cheese in it, much high calories, the core was not warm enough. The Tagliatelle with mushroom sauce was nothing special, no meat in it.

Today I visited Bocconi and ordered pasta with porcini mushrooms. Unfortunately the dish was very watery and the mushrooms were quite hard. I also found a small piece of blue plastic in the pasta. When I showed it to the staff, the only reaction was “Oh my God”. There was no apology, no offer to replace the dish and nothing was removed from the bill. I paid the full amount. I have been here before and liked the place, which is why this experience was very surprising and disappointing. I hope the management will take this feedback seriously.

We love this location but the wind was blowing so we ordered take out! Amazing! And so much good. We ordered the meal for two and we will definitely have lunch tomorrow.

A small and quaint Italian place with very fresh and delicious pasta dishes! You can get a big plate of pasta from 9€ up to 18€ depending on what you want. Many choices which are all equally delicious! Perfect for a group of 5, but I recommend making reservations beforehand since there is only one table to host 5/6 people. It’s a small place so most of the tables are smaller groups/duo! Don’t go here if you are craving pizza, because they only offer two pizzas options where one of them is a margarita 😊 Staff is friendly and the food was ready quickly! I recommend this!

Best restaurant in Leiden without a doubt. So fresh and delicious. I dream about the butter and sage gnocchi. I made my phone background a picture of it.

I was seriously ill, heavy food preparation, went to bed with a bit of a stomach ache, woke up 4 hours later, vomiting and diarrhea and I had a simple dish, my husband suffered from acid reflux all night long.

The meat lasagna was good. The gnocchi was a little too soft for our liking (felt like we were eating marshmallows) The ravioli was okay. The bolognese sauce was nice and meaty. Waiter was not interested (but maybe that’s how they operate). Salmon cream pasta was too salty. Worth a shot but will not be mind blowing. Nice vibes

Our group of six was split into two groups and seated at separate tables. The café is located in an old historic building, stretched out lengthwise and with limited width, making for a lot of inconvenience. We waited over half an hour for our order. The menu was too specific for me, meaning I had no idea what any of the dishes were based on the names. I limited myself to pizza and beer.

Excellent: Just like an Italian nonna's! It was super delicious, truly like a nonna's! The portions may look simple, but they are surprisingly delicious and filling. A real highlight is being able to watch the family behind the counter as they prepare everything fresh. This makes the meal a wonderful, authentic experience! Highly recommended!

I had gnocchi with a mushroom cream base! The restaurant was crowded, so I had to wait a bit, and the food came out quickly! The gnocchi was really soft and delicious, but the mushroom cream base was too rich for my taste, so I couldn't finish it all. If you don't like rich flavors, I recommend trying a different base for gnocchi!

One of the best pasta dishes I've ever had was here! We had the tagliatelle with olive oil and Parmesan cheese and the ravioli with lemon filling and truffle filling, olive oil and Parmesan cheese. We also had a pizza to share. The ravioli are incredibly good; a MUST-TRY if you're here.

Food was really good(porcini ravioli, pizza was great) and tasty but i think a little bit overpriced, example the pizza : pretty simple, homemade, amazing sauce, nice cheese, but 7,50 for what is basically 1,5 piece from a standard sized pizza i think is too much, even though you can tell this is better quality of course. Other than that the lady that serviced us was really nice and polite, the vibe was good, and most importantly great food. -0,5 star for the prices, -0,5 star for not allowing eat in customers to use the bathroom(it is just weird guys not even been able to wash my hands for an eat in situation or to use the toilet after drinking a beverage). Having said that i will go back definitely, i liked the food, i liked the people. Try to reduce your prices for your pizza guys, it’s really good make it more accessible for everyone.

What I loved about this place is the “i am at an Italian home” feeling I got when eating there. You see the ladies in the kitchen talking to each other and preparing the food, and you know that you’re going to experience Italian food from the source. So why then 4 star? Well, unfortunately the service is not really great. Our waitress was working as if she was forced by her mom to be there! Then the gnocchi in the butter & sage gnocchi had a little too much of a taste of flour. However it’s freshly made. This is home cooking that feels welcome in such a heavy franchised based world. Go give it a shot. The lasagne is really good. The crispy bits on the side of the dish 🤸🏻‍♀️
