Brasserie Rita in Centrum

We dined at Rita's with two friends, and it was a strange evening. Upon entering, the restaurant seemed closed. It was 5:45 PM, so a bit early, but not excessively so, and we had made a reservation. The chef had to go find the waiter... When taking our order, the waiter made some strange remarks, but we assumed they were sarcastic jokes we didn't understand. One of us ordered a classic shrimp cocktail as an appetizer, and when it was served, it turned out it contained avocado. A classic shrimp cocktail isn't normally found in avocado. The person who ordered this dish has a severe avocado allergy. When the dish was served, we immediately mentioned it, but the waiter simply ignored us and walked away. When we called him back, he reacted incredibly rudely and inappropriately. He said in an angry tone, "We should have told him all our allergens beforehand. No solution, no consideration." Ultimately, after some discussion, the dish was cleared, and a new shrimp cocktail arrived, which was less well-presented. The mussels for the main course were good, albeit small portions. We weren't asked if we wanted anything else for the rest of the evening. When clearing the table, we weren't asked if we'd enjoyed our meal. No explanation was given for the dessert cheeses. And we weren't even asked if we wanted coffee afterward. We were essentially ignored for the rest of the evening, which was very childish and unprofessional. It's a real shame; I don't think I'll be back.

The food at Brasserie Rita was fine in itself — the mussels were well-prepared, and the dessert (lava cake) was also delicious. But the service was truly subpar. The starter (classic shrimp cocktail) unexpectedly included avocado, which I'm allergic to. When I pointed this out immediately, the waiter reacted downright rude and defensive. Instead of offering any input or apology, I ended up arguing about allergens. Eventually, a new plate was brought, but without an explanation and with fewer garnishes than the original. For the rest of the evening, no one came by to ask if we wanted another drink or if everything was to our liking, even though there were only three occupied tables. No explanation was given about the cheese board either. In short: compliments to the kitchen, but the service and hospitality leave much to be desired. It's a shame, because it significantly detracts from the overall experience.

Breakfast was meager; it wasn't included in the most expensive room. €43.50 for two people. There was some, but just enough. I couldn't get a clean table. Plates gone, bowls gone, yogurt gone, spoons gone. The coffee machine was tilted. No fresh juice. Bummer...

Enjoy a delicious French dinner in this beautiful former monastery complex with pleasant background music, good mood lighting, and a clear menu with something for everyone, including a 3-course menu and a la carte.

Don't come here to eat mussels, 600g and very small. We were a scandalous group of very small mussels and served in a deep plate without juice and of course without a spoon, fries whose potatoes were not peeled. In short, avoid for mussels.

A very disappointing experience. It took an hour for our starter and another hour for the main course. The quality, presentation, and quantity of the food were far below par for a brasserie. We won't be returning.

Delicious lunch. Well-priced salads, and very well prepared. Great service. The atmosphere is a bit quiet. Some background music wouldn't hurt, I think.

The hotel receptionist looked at us like she was scalding water. How could we even think of coming for breakfast? Well, because it was online and because there was a huge sign opposite her desk that said "all-day breakfast." She went inside to inquire and then said someone else was taking over. However, that person didn't respond to us at all. When we went inside, another employee came over to tell us there was no chef, so unfortunately, they wouldn't be there until 11 a.m. at the earliest. Why would they leave a sign outside with all the dishes, etc.? So what the food was like? No idea.

After years of enjoying it, we discovered after a dinner with friends that nothing remains of its former glory. The service was pleasant, but that's about it. The food was subpar (fly eggs in the fruit salad – sent back, dish removed from the bill, and they tried to apologize). The mussels were served cold and full of sand, the dish was sent back to the kitchen, and we received a new portion. That one was better, but by then, two hours had passed. The price differences for the same dish on and off the menu were very high. During our visit, they already recognized that something had gone wrong. After we shared our experience in an email to the restaurant, we received an email a week later with an apology. Nothing more. It's a shame.

Terrible restaurant, stubborn, rude service, long waits for the first drink and later for the food. The price-quality ratio is also not in proportion. I've never eaten so poorly. All in all, I'll never go back here and I certainly wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Tuvimos una cena sorpresa de tres platos en un restaurante casi vacío. La ubicación y el servicio estaban bien. La comida tenía buen sabor pero las porciones eran muy pequeñas. ¿Será por eso que casi no hubo otros invitados?

We hebben hier genoten van een 4 gangendiner, smaak was goed. Jammer dat het personeel alleen Engels sprak, voor mij geen probleem maar dat geldt niet voor iedereen. Mooie plek! Kwam er wel achter dat ze hun internetsite niet goed bijhouden. Het ontbijtbuffet kost op 1e pagina €17.50, zodra je reserveert staat er €20.50 en als je telefonisch reserveert €21.50 dat moet natuurlijk anders

This one is a ride of ups and downs. I reserved a deal months ago and it wasn't in the system. But the staff was very helpful and made it work. They where understaffed but really did there best so kudos to them. The food started with an amazing started and went slowly down after that. Small details would have easily lifted up the experience. I don't want to be to negative, the location is amazing, the staff is great. But the complete experience should have been better.

I was fooled by photos of the dinner here. Definitely do not recommend breakfast and brunch here. You can create your own breakfast by buying products literally from nearby Albert Heijn.

Delicious via diningcity a 4 course lunch eaten. Very tasty and well prepared. Nice environment a lovely terrace outside.

We had breakfast here and immediately noticed how friendly and warm the staff was. We were pleasantly surprised by the attentiveness of a young man working there. This was much appreciated and added to a great experience!

Went for a surprise menu. Food was fine, but very little. Ordered drinks with the main course, which were forgotten by the staff and were just hanging around. There were only 2 sets in the shop.

De sfeer is kil, mogelijk door de ongedekte tafels met niet matchende witte tafelkleedjes. We maakten gebruik van douglas bon voor het menu. Prima om een verrassingsmenu te krijgen maar vreemd dat de bediening niet wist wat het was waardoor we niet op voorhand de wijn er op konden afstemmen. Het eten was smaakvol maar de porties klein zonder extra’s. Geen broodje of groente (3/4 asperge) erbij. Koffie zonder iets extra’s. Zelfs met bon het geld niet waard. Geen goede reclame als deze actie daar al voor bedoeld zou zijn. Helaas, voor ons niet nog eens

What a great experience at Brasserie Rita! We enjoyed a wonderful evening at this classic French bistro. As a starter I had the burrata — creamy and perfectly seasoned, served with homemade pesto and sweet cherry tomatoes. A refined and fresh start. Then the tournedos Rossini (filet pur): perfectly cooked and served with a classic sauce that will leave you speechless. Everything was just right — from the quality of the meat to the rich, balanced flavors of the sauce. An absolute must for lovers of French cuisine. Here they cook with love and craftsmanship!

Nice 4 course dinner, the tuna starter i liked very much as well as the risotto with seabass. The weather was not so nice so we did not sit i outside but thats also nice

The restaurant is gorgeous and the atmosphere is great. The service is friendly. But the food... My friend and I are the worst risotto ever. Both of us are good home cooks and know how to make a tasty, creamy risotto, so we noticed it came out way too fast. We also asked for a mocktail (alcohol free cocktail), but the result was basically sparkling water with a splash of lemon and a few mint leaves. I didn't find it over expensive considering the whole atmosphere, but the food itself was definitely not worth it, which is a pity.

The food is quite good, actually quite tasty. Price of beer a bit on the expensive side. service also good. I think a great restaurant for lunch. No atmosphere for evening meal, ready within 1.5 hours. Too much light, people calling around you, people from and through the hotel passing your table. McDonald's almost has more atmosphere. If you don't mind, then it is definitely recommended, otherwise I would quickly dine somewhere else

We had a drink here during our stay at the Mariënhage hotel and had breakfast. Breakfast has a wide range and is very good. Even a glass of bubbles was ready on Sunday morning!

It remains a beautiful location. So we thought we'd go there for coffee. Ordered coffee and cake. Coffee not tasty. We had to wait a very long time for the pastries while there was 1 table inside (we were alone outside), the pastries were completely dried out so they were returned. For €6 you can expect a fresh cake... Service not unfriendly but service orientation less so, people grumbled that she had to walk all the way around because the door after the terrace had closed (literally 5 meters to the next door). She didn't open the door for us anymore, which was a shame. By the way, I didn't complain that I had to go around to pay.

Delicious lunch, excellent service, delicious dishes. Two years later, services are really deteriorating. Eating out for lunch should be a positive experience and it certainly wasn't in terms of service. Nonchalant and disinterested waitress. Nothing but praise for the dishes themselves.

Tucked away in an ancient building with spacious rooms and a great inner courtyard, this place is simply beautiful. Truly enjoyed a three course dinner outside on a Saturday night and I’m surprised it was quiet. The food is fine, wine is great and we experienced very kind service.

Food was overall good and the atmosphere was ok. Unfortunately i cannot say the same about the service, which was subpar, not just relatively to the price. Wrong information were given on some drink prices but the worst part was the extreme waiting time between serving and the apparent lack of caring or attention from the staff on duty. Possibly a bad night or unexperienced staff. But we will not come back. PS. Dinner took place soke months ago

This is a hotel restaurant, the food is of good quality, medium-high prices. Very friendly Croatian waiter who also gave us advice for visiting the area

Rita is in a special location. The small intimate restaurant is a "branch" of the large restaurant. The lunch which was in a conservatory was good and tasty. We had a permanent waiter. Who spoke fluent English. (There was family from America left). All in all worth four stars! There was a 90 year old who offered us this delicious lunch. Definitely have lunch there again.

Food was nice and atmosphere was fine. Unfortunately service was incredibly slow and not attentive.

This was a great place for a lovely breakfast! Beautiful location, tasty food and a nice atmosphere! I will be coming back! They accept going to the brasserie without staying in the hotel, which is great for us that live in Eindhoven and would probably never stay at the hotel.

We have eaten here several times and every time it has been delicious and the service has been good. I think it has been taken over or something because the food itself was fine, but not as I am used to from the Brasserie. In addition, the service was mediocre. The food was put on the table, not stated what it was (we had the surprise menu) and at one point we were sure we had Tuna Tataki and the waitress had to go back to ask what it was and she told us it was tenderloin. This was absolutely not the case, but when we pointed this out to another waiter after our dish, he said he didn't know what we had eaten and couldn't see it anymore because it was already gone. All in all a disappointing experience.

Delicious food in this attractive brasserie. Had the vitello tonnato, salmon on toast, burger and lasagna, it was all delicious. Staff very nice and knowledgeable.

I would absolutely not recommend Rita, it's time to take a closer look at the kitchen! A club sandwich with nothing or almost nothing in between, the same with my table companions with a different type of club sandwich. I haven't experienced anything this bad in years.

Relaxed and attentive service. Nice 5-course menu with creative and expertly prepared dishes (mushroom mushrooms, bisque with turbot and langoustine, raw ham, very tender venison steak, original dessert and always seasonal vegetables). Nice wine arrangement with very different tasting wines. Recommended!

I think we were unlucky because the food was really bad. Had lunch a few years ago and the food was good. On a busy evening in the city, we went to Brasserie Rita. Onion soup was extremely salty, main courses had almost no taste and were prepared without love. I ate half of my Caesar salad. Of course we could have sent everything back to the kitchen, but you would expect a restaurant to be able to prepare these basic dishes properly in one go. And sometimes you just want to grab a bite to eat and go home. It really seemed like there was an intern working in the kitchen. The atmosphere was also special, there was a kind of vague 90s dance playlist that did not fit the restaurant at all. I won't be coming back for a while.

Met kerstavond hier met 15 personen gegeten Wij gaan nooit meer hier terug ,we waren de enigste groep in de zaal en dat was blijkbaar al moeilijk te doen , Eten vonden we voor kerstmenu zeer tegenvallen en dan zeker in combinatie wat je ervoor betaald. We hadden wel een lekkere kerstcocktail

Tja eten was lekker. De goudenmuur vindt ik niet passen bij het geheel. Personeel was aardig.

Wat een verrassing om hier te zijn!! Fijne exclusieve hapjes, op bijzonder servies. Wij hadden een 2 gangen lunch verrassingsmenu!!! Goed gevulde wijnglazen, is ook belangrijk toch?

Met vijf personen gegeten €450,- afgerekend en ronduit niet goed. Bediening incompetent (wel vriendelijk): kent crodino niet, kende bereidingswijze van vlees en vis niet, oesters kwamen met vinaigrette zonder lepeltje, gerechten met gebrekkige uitleg, cocktail ingrediënten waren er niet, water moesten we zelf achteraan, tafel uithalen en echt alles meenemen zodat je met een lege tafel achterbleef (les 1 horeca), we kregen er zelfs de slappe lach van, eten ver onder de maat, slap, flauw, niet warm; smaakloos eigenlijk en niet in verhouding tot de kosten. Opmaak mooi en ambiance zeker goed maar dat was het dan wel. Nadien onwel geworden en alles uitgebraakt…… voor ons niet voor herhaling vatbaar.

Had lunch with a friend of mine. Was looking forward to trying the Eggs Benedict. The staff is superfriendly (just 1 girl not speaking Dutch) and the interior is beautiful (mind you, in the earlier days this building consisted of studios for artists and I went to parties there! 😉) Unfortunately, I wasn't too pleased with my eggs though. Way too much Hollandaise sauce because it tasted pretty sour! Too sour. I'm sure dinner would be a better option, based on the reviews (probably another cook as well?) but no Eggs Benedict from here anymore.

Top locatie en mooi pand! Eten ook uitermate goed. Sfeer combinatie met bediening goed in orde. Zeker aan te raden!

Helaas, het gaat er langzaam op achteruit. Eten lekker, maar bediening die niets uitlegt (denk dat ze nog moet leren) of alleen Engels spreekt. En een beveiliger die je weg stuurt bij de toiletten en je maar via buiten moet, erg raar. En creditcard wordt ineens niet meer geaccepteerd.

Samen met mijn man een nachtje gaan logeren in het Marienhage hotel en gaan eten in de daarbij behorende brasserie Rita. Wij houden van lekker en eerlijk eten met een goed glas wijn en vriendelijke bediening. Dat is exact wat we kregen bij brasserie Rita. Het eten was lekker en goed op smaak gebracht en het kwam in een vlot tempo. Wij hadden 5 gangen met bijhorende wijn en op het einde van de avond zeker voldoende gegeten en gedronken... We willen onze complimenten wel geven aan de maitre die er die avond was. Een Engels sprekende man met een hart voor mensen. Bij het voorgerecht 2 wijnen mogen proeven omdat hij graag onze mening wilde, een warme aanblik, gulle lach en een meerwaarde voor de zaak. Kortom, een zaakje om zeker nog eens naartoe te gaan, hopelijk met dezelfde gastheer, de goed gekozen wijnen en het lekkere eten. Meer moet het niet zijn ...

Impeccable cuisine, great Chef who really tries to show the best of Eindhoven. Friendly service and a beautifully suave ambience. Make sure to try Rita’s choice, a set menu which offers soo many delicious surprises. Absolutely Amazing experience, if locals knew how good this place is, it would be packed on a daily basis. Be sure to try it out! A real gem in this city.

Een mooie eetervaring in een helaas wat kille sfeer. De ruimte was hoog en er waren weinig gasten. Het regende en was koud. De bediening was gezellig en de gerechten bijzonder en smaakvol.

Very good food (4 courses menu + accompanying wines). Unfortunately the restaurant misses the cosiness / atmosphere, which the bar area does bring.

Helaas heeft brasserie Rita onze verwachting niet waar kunnen maken. De service was oké, niet geweldig. Het eten vonden we matig, geen bijzondere smaken. Voor deze prijzen (en hoe t op Social media wordt voorgedaan) hadden we wat meer verwacht!

Ik heb Coeliakie, glutenintolerantie. Van tevoren gebeld. Geen probleem zeiden ze. Dat was t ook niet. Supervriendelijk personeel. Een broodje afgebakken. Vragen stellen geen probleem. Werd heel geduldig en serieus te woord gestaan. Super!

Erg gezellig en relaxte omgeving naast het klooster midden in Eindhoven. Eten formidabel en afgestemd op het seizoen. We komen graag een keer terug voor meer van dit lekkers.

Alles was top , 5 gangen diner gegeten met een bijpassend wijn arrangement erbij , gerechten zagen er tip top uit!! Personeel hebben kennis en vertellen een mooi verhaal over de wijnen wat zeer goed bij de gerechten passen! Zeker een aanrader om nog terug te komen , we waren flink in de watten gelegd. Wij zijn heerlijk in de watten gelegd bij Brasserie Rita. We hebben heerlijk 6 gangen (verrassingsmenu) gegeten met bijpassende wijnen, echt een aanrader. Je merkt de passie voor het eten en het oog voor detail. Elk gerecht was omlijst met een mooi verhaal en de gerechten waren stuk voor stuk smaakexplosies. Eigenlijk meer dan 5 sterren waard. Chapeau!

Zaterdag heerlijk gegeten. Vijf gangen chef’s menu gekozen met bijpassend wij arrangement. Start met enkele amuses, interessante combinaties. Daarna lekkere voorgerechten met verschillende combinaties. De gerechten kennen meerdere bereidingen en de wijn paste uitstekend. Als hoofdgerecht een heerlijke runderlende gehad. Het personeel is vriendelijk en heeft een goede productkennis. Snelheid van doorgeven was ook goed. Een ster minder dan vijf omdat de portionering soms wel erg beperkt was, voor de rest uitstekend!

Vlees erg taai, niet weg te krijgen!
