I ordered milkshakes for my sister and my girlfriend, then I asked for lids. But I didn't have that when we walked to the tram and had to throw away our milkshakes because you are not allowed on the tram without a lid on your cup. Was VERY angry about this.

You pay for the glass, you pay to go to the bathroom and on top of that the burger is dry, the fries are cold and...... THEY HAVE NO BEER!!!!

It rarely happens that I write a review, but I am now making an exception for this fast food restaurant. I'm mainly concerned about the service and the deposit. The food is as you would expect from a fast food restaurant. But the service is quite substandard: no friendliness, a very long wait for the order to be ready and we only got the deposit back for two of the 7 cups, after waiting a long time because the deposit machine was broken. And this treatment did not only apply to us during the time we were there. In short, not a fast food joint to return to anytime soon.

As a paying customer you can't even use the toilet here

It's a typical Burger King but the biggest flaw is the fact they make you pay 1€ for the toilets inside even though you ordered food.

The restaurant is clean but the products cool quickly and the staff is very unpleasant. The icing on the cake is that you have to pay for toilets, even if you drink on site!

Expensive, slow, sandwich with cheddar and bacon full of mayonnaise (???), tiny bathroom for a fee of 1 euro despite the +30 euros spent, they force you to take a useless glass for 1 euro which you then don't know how to return (all written in Dutch) and then you have to throw it away.

Very disappointing experience at the Burger King on Leidseplein. My friend, who has a walking disability, was initially not allowed to find a table on the first floor, even though it was better suited for him. After ordering, we were finally allowed upstairs, but then the security guard caused an unnecessary conflict just because I told my friends they could join me. The whole situation felt strange and unwelcoming. When it came to the food, the staff were rude and unhelpful. I tried to carry all our trays to the table because my friend obviously couldn’t help, but I was told I wasn’t allowed to take them all at once. This meant I had to go back and forth multiple times, which was frustrating and unnecessary. The food itself was below average. The burgers were poorly made and cold by the time I got everything upstairs. Overall, the lack of care for customers, especially those with disabilities, and the poor quality of food made this a very bad experience. I hope the staff and management improve both their service and their attitude.

Horrible women work here. They are so rude we actually felt scared. Our order was wrong, they laughed and spoke in a language we cannot understand and make us wait 15 minutes for our new order which was an awfully small portion for a large price. They are all very intimidating and I had to leave a review because it felt unsafe. No

The same service from this chain anywhere in the world, the difference is that despite consuming they charge you 0.80 euros to be able to use the bathroom. A shame!!!

During my stay I was eating there I was sick all night I got food poisoning, I strongly advise against it!!!!!

Was in hospital needed some comfort food. My wife brought me this whiskey signature burger. It was truly delicious and stands out from any competitors. My wife biked quite some mileage to get this, love her so much

The machine that gives you money back for the glass works only with an app, which if you are a foreigner you cannot download.

Slow, pretending not to be able to refund cash when other burger king do that , manager arrogant and tend to lose time instead of helping the customer. And all of this for 1 euro for the policy of plastic glasses . Service less then zero, the manager could need an update and some education lessons.

The schedule is not correct. It says it closes at 3 am but at 10 pm they told us that we had to leave because they closed at 10 pm. Other people ordered and ate at that time. Even though we consumed 3 people, we had to pay separately for the bathroom.

I feel I was kind of scammed today and blamed for my loss. I came with 2 vegetarische slager coupons to this branch. I followed the instructions on the totem and when inserted the second code (as I was with my partner), I got the message that only one would be accepted per order. As I moved with the second code to another totem, my code was given invalid. I tried to solve with the staff, the manager came to me and said that this is how it works and it’s done - once you type a code in the machine it’s gone forever, even if you couldn’t finish your order. First she said “you should know that at BK you can only do one code at a time”. There was nothing about that in ANY of the instructions or any part of the machine’s software. Then she proceeded to tell me I don’t know this because I am not from here. Well. I am and I redeem multiple codes from another competitor’s app all the time in the same order. Then, not satisfied she said the people come there all the time trying to scam with reused codes, implying I was tried to scam them. And this given I opened the packages with the code in front of them. So I left without food. Not great.

I witnessed the woman’s experience who posted below and the server was violent and had to be physically restrained by fellow employees. The manager did nothing. I would never step foot in this restaurant again, in fact, it put me off all Burger King restaurants. If they hire people like this woman, customers are not safe.

Classic BK like in France, however not very clean and the toilets are chargeable despite consumption. Forgot a burger in the order. You have to pay for the sauces even when you order Nuggets. Fast and efficient service.

The kiosk we tried to order at first was broken but this only became obvious when it was time to pay. It had no out of order sign on it. There were two employees at the front putting the finishing touches on the orders despite the place being pretty busy. One was very positive, the other was dragging her feet and looked like she’d rather be anywhere else. You have to pay €1 for a reusable cup, but the machine to return them wasn’t working. In the end, we just left ours behind because there were also no employees available to speak to. It costs €0.8 to use the toilet, and they were dirty. At the end of the day, it’s Burger King, but I felt ripped off by this one.

Server was extremely rude, threw food upside down, then called me an expletive when I mentioned it. Flew across the counter and hit my hand. I asked to speak to the manager because no one should be treated that way by a server. He was just as nasty, refused to review footage, or reprimand the server who was screaming and had to be held back by 2 male employees. She was violent, insane, and should not be working in customer service. I had my camera audio on for my own protection and the manager threatened to call the police and have me arrested for "filming" which I was not doing, yet they have cameras everywhere. This was a horrible, frightening experience, and Burger King Corporate should be aware of the types of things going on in their franchises. So many bad reviews on this location. This is a tourist-dependent business, and the staff was unprofessional and one was actually scary. Don't take your children to this location. The "manager" could not give a toss.

That's the only place in whole world that made me eat pork although i didnt want it. I select grill master double under the beef section and asked me about selection of cheese and bacon, i select zero bacon considering it could be pork and one cheese. While i was eating i noticed that it has bacon inside, asked whether it is pork, the dtaff answered as yes. They tried to explain me the situation as it shows bacon on the picture. I have been to germany twice, france many times, belgium, england, italy twice, romania, bulgaria, thailand, indonesia and several MENA countries etc. Burger king is the only company that doesnt respect muslim puts a menu with bacon under beef section and wirhout any explanation. It is like tricking, on picture there is the bacon staff tried to explain me. Btw, i am very happy wiyh staff attitude , they did all they can do but burger king and it is order machine doesnt respect and care for muslims. I cannot pursue this but if i was living in Netherlands, i would definitely sue Burger King. My daughter wanted a plain chicken burger which we ordered on the screen. They gave us one with everything, then argued that we selected the wrong options. Disgraceful.

I don't recommend it. We waited over 20 minutes to order (while the average time was about 10 minutes). When I went to the cash register to ask what happened to my order, the employee giving the orders very rudely told me that I should go away and not disturb him. Only when I threatened him with calling the police did he become interested in the subject. After checking his system, he found that someone must have picked up my order earlier. Another threat to call the police resulted in me receiving the food within 5 minutes (in total about 40 minutes from the moment of placing the order). After a few minutes, I realized that the order was incomplete (the cookies were missing). I received the cookies, but it cost me another 20 minutes of fighting with the staff to get my order. The worst and longest "fast" food of my life. Give this place a wide berth.

This burger king is probably the worst in Amsterdam. Every single time I go here it takes ages for them to prepare my food. If you go in the evening on a weekend expect to wait at least 20 minutes while surrounded by hammered people. Oh and on top of that you have to pay to use the toilet and deal with the deposit system for the plastic cup.

Bad service, bad burgers, poorly cooked, had to go back to the counter to ask for new food, never again

A spacious location in the heart of Amsterdam. Everything was neat and the food super fresh. Take a look at the bottom of the menu. For 4.95 burger, chicken nuggets, fries and a small soft drink.

Prices, staff not friendly and paying extra money just to go the toilet even as a customer. Not recommended

We had a whopper cheese, king xxl menu with king fries large and coca cola reg. and a Coke Zero. Aloooooo the whopper cheese had arrived. Not one call from the restaurant saying 'Hey suckers, we don't have anything left', nothing. We asked for the money back and we only got the money back from the Coke Zero. Close that restaurant! Super expensive for the portions, if you want ketchup or some dressing you have to pay, for the bathroom you have to pay, except that they charge you for oxygen and the ability to breathe, very bad!

As a care worker, I often get food from this BK during the night shift, the staff is very unfriendly/rude, they barely look at you and don't say hello, if they see you standing there to order at the cash register they leave you standing there for 10 minutes wait even if they see that you can't wait too long because you want to get some food in between. Only the manager is nice and if he sees emergency services in uniform, he will ensure that you are helped sooner. Unfortunately I don't meet this manager very often. It is frustrating to see how things are going in this case :(

Eat-in: Veggie Double Bacon King - sorry, but this is truly the absolute worst veggie burger I have ever eaten. I have 2 words for it: cardboard and cold. No possibility for feedback on site due to crowds. It's really a shame about this Vegetarian Butcher product, it really misses the point completely.

Worst customer service I've ever seen in a fast food, all brands/companies considered. 1. Even if you eat in, you have to PAY MORE to get to the toilets? And a guy is standing by the door to make sure that there is no fraud, like that's not more expensive than letting ppl pee for free. 2. Mandatory reusable cups are cool, I'm all for it. But having to pay 1€ more because it's reusable? No. McDonalds, KFC, all companies comply to the EU rules of reusability in fast food, but it's the first time I see such audacity. Oh, if customers could get their 1€ back (like it's done at festivals and everywhere foe 30 years), it'd be great. But no, if you want your money back, you gotta do the process through an app that is only available on the national app store (so tourists, even from nearby countries like France or Sweden, can't get their money back, we tried) 3. The cashier/ordering personnel is really NOT nice. I had a question to ask, they SAW me in front of them but ignored me until I almost yelled HELLO (and no, they weren't busy with something else, I'm a tourist yes, but it doesn't automatically make me a dick) To sum it up : go to other fast foods held by locals in the same street, MUCH better customer service! :)

21 euros for 2 medium fries, small coke and 6 nuggets. Paid for sauce that we didn't get. Could only opt for a deposit cup for which you do not get cash in return. Then having to climb a dangerously steep staircase with a tray. Pay for the toilet. I don't come here anymore.

It's a normal burger king, average food, non-existent service because you order on a screen, it's a restaurant and serves food and drinks but ... But be aware you have to pay EXTRA for the use of the bathroom, even if you are a customer, which is ridiculous. This restaurant shouldn't be open if it can't offer bathroom service for its customers.

I agree that Amsterdam is expensive, compared to Italy, EVERYTHING is more expensive (unfortunately we are also adapting in our homeland), but I mean the bathrooms???? Is it possible to pay for the bathrooms after spending 40 euros on food? It's like if you go to a restaurant, consume, and the restaurateur makes you pay to go to the bathroom! Unbelievably rude attitude towards me, another woman and a little girl. We barely touched the stairs and immediately got yelled at and were told that we have to pay for consumption and also pay for the toilet. The staff was moving so slow and didn’t make customers feel at all welcome. Do not recommend.

About 30 minutes ago, I received an order where they forgot to include the King Burger menu . When I tried to discuss this with the restaurant staff, the girl who answered the phone started yelling at me, rudely insisting that such an order never existed and that it wasn’t in the system. Toilets were discusting even if the cleaning guy was getting out of them - the guys at BK "cannot do much, it's not me" - so the customers can use dirty toilets and are charged a fee for that

Ridiculous establishment. Tiny portions, 75c for sauce (which they forget to give you and then just give you one sachet as if you're a beggar), paid toilets, all the items are overpriced in contrast to other cities in the EU, and they charge you for reusable cups that don't have lids which causes many spills. The e-tills don't work properly and it's just ridiculous how bad it is. We eat at BK for the vegan options, and we tried to save money for lunch by eating here, but it ended up being as expensive as eating something substantial at a normal cafe or restaurant. What's even better is that they don't give you back the money for the reusable cups. They tell you to download an app and claim the money there and refuse to give you back your money in cash / card. We will not be visiting BK in Amsterdam again.

This manager hit my friend and tried to break his phone because he filmed it when my friend ordered food and wanted to pay by card. He has a discount code and the discount code obviously does not work on the vending machine cashier. Then my friend went to the police station to report this unfriendly employee. I really enjoyed this Burger King. I was looking for something cheap to eat and found out this awesome BBQ beacon burger that is not available in my country. The staff is very well organized and served me fast. The bathroom required you to pay an extra and is not free for customers.

Don’t expect to get what you order, but chill out and be happy with what you get.

Ordering from this Burger King is like a scene from a dystopian movie; very impersonal with an ordering kiosk and an app to order invisibly prepared food without really useful nutritional values. Then wait until your number is called and you disappear into the anonymity of the city with a bag of fatty and salty food. The sad part of this perhaps came to me precisely because of the layout of the place.

Impossible to get 1€ deposit for a stupid cup. No salads.

Eating Burger King in this country is the worst scam I have ever seen. I already scan my code and my account is not displayed, I then want to enter it manually but impossible because not all the characters are displayed. So I can't use my points. Then I go to a menu displayed at 4.50. After choosing my menu, my order increased to more than 13€ I don't really see how, the only supplement that was displayed was the 1€ to get your cup, which you cannot choose. You are supposed to be able to recover this €1 by entering your cup into a machine which generates a QR code, which you must then scan in an app. This app cannot be downloaded outside of the Netherlands, and even if you manage to install it through a third-party store, you must have a Dutch number to be able to register. The goal is therefore to bust your balls to extract as much money as possible.

A reasonable hamburger restaurant with good burgers and good taste better than any other.

Went to Burger King on Leidseplein 100 years ago. I was so hungry after several glasses of wine that I was tempted to eat a chicken burger with fries. A wonderful evening. Partly by citizen child. Easy ordering via devices. A spacious burger restaurant. Recommended for late nights as an alternative to FEBO

Low effort customer service at 2pm of 30 May 2024... We wanted to know about allergens and no one knew how to answer the question or check the label of the product. Also did not allow us to request at the cash register, only automatic vending points when we wanted to personalize a burger.

Food is good.. however, they're stealing money from the customers by taking their payment ticket and therefore taking away the possibility of retrieving the money from the machine for the re-usable cup (1€).

Food is great but I do not get what is the point of the reusable cups - the staff take your receipt (unless you explicitly tell them that you want to keep it), but then you need it to get back 1€ for the cup.

A good Burger King ideally located, large and rather fast, with many ordering terminals. However, you should know that there is a charge for toilets, even for customers, and above all that a new system of deposits for reusable cups has been put in place. If the idea is obviously laudable, it involves the compulsory purchase of one euro per cup: you must then place it in a machine provided for this purpose, which... prints a QR Code to be used with an additional mobile app (Tippie) to recover his dues. I have seen several tourists give up on this procedure and finally throw away the paper (... when the machine wants to print it, it happened to me once that it ran out of paper and the team members gave up reactivate it). It’s a bit of a hidden cost!
